AKIN

Edward E. Akin, 70, Linn Creek, died Nov. 26, 2002, at his home.

He was born Sept. 1, 1932, in Carrollton, Ga., a son of Ollie E. and Mary Alma Cammons Akin. He was married Aug. 26, 1983, in Wethersfield, Conn., to Therese Carr, who survives at the home.

He retired from Rohr Industries, Inc., now called Goodrich Aerostructures. He owned and operated PLAY-TYME Amusements; J.E.B. Junction, Inc.; and J & B Auto Mart, Inc., of Linn Creek. He was a licensed real estate agent for Ozark Realty and was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Camdenton. He was a member of Moose Lodge 2322, Camdenton; Camden County Historical Society; Fleet Reserve Association Branch 289, Inc., San Diego; and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He was a retired Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Diane Pearson and Jan Ballard, both of Burlison, Tenn.; three brothers, Benny Akin and Ray Akin, both of Carrollton, Ga., and Larry Akin, Bowdon, Ga.; three sisters, Sara Bradley, Roopville, Ga., Martha Bush, Marshall, Mich., and Deborah Jordan, Bowdon; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. The Rev. Raphael Keyes will officiate. Burial will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Broad Brook, Conn.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

BALL

Services were today for Michael Skyler Reed Ball, newborn son of Michael P. and Frances Irene Ball,  Jefferson City, who died Nov. 24, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

Other survivors include: maternal grandparents, Jackie and Myrtle Mayfield,  Jefferson City; paternal grandmother, Anne Ball, Belmar, N.J.; paternal grandfather, Donald Ball, New York; maternal great-grandmother, Mildred Mayfield, West Plains; paternal great-grandmother, Edith Morris, Bradley Beach, N.J.

Private family services were at Solid Rock Family Church. The Rev. Joe Skiles officiated. Burial was in Longview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Solid Rock Family Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.

BROWN

Jaclyn Brown, 64, Kaiser, died Nov. 25, 2002, at her home.

She was born Dec. 28, 1937, in St. Louis, a daughter of Fredrick and Mildred Niemeyer Meinhardt. She was married Nov. 1, 1958, in St. Louis, to Charles Brown, who survives at the home.

She was city clerk in Lake Ozark and was a secretary for the School of the Osage.

Other survivors include one daughter, Denise King, Kaiser, and two granddaughters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Rev. Chuck Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Garden, Osage Beach.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

GILBERT

Charles B. "Charly" Gilbert Sr., 66, Springfield, formerly of Climax Springs, died Nov. 13, 2002, in Mercy Villa Nursing Home, Springfield.

He was born Jan. 12, 1936, in St. Louis, a son of Frank M. and Evelyn Becker Gilbert. He was married to Daisy Rosser, who survives at the home.

He graduated from high school in St. Louis. He was a truck driver. He moved from St. Louis to Independence before retiring in 1992 and moving to Climax Springs. In 2001, he moved to Springfield. He was a Catholic and a Marine veteran.

Survivors include: three sons, Charles B. Gilbert Jr. and Frank Gilbert, both of Chamois, and Gregg Rosser, Buckner; seven daughters, Lynn B. Thuli and Lorraine Wright, both of Chamois, Jennifer Whelehon, St. Louis, Wendy Wolf, Linn, Holly Robinson, Eldridge, Nikki Shelton and Heather Shelton, both of Eureka; one sister, Betty Thomas, Weslaco, Texas ; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

One son, David Gilbert, preceded him in death.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Laughlin Cemetery, Camdenton.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.

KLEBBA

Adolph L. Klebba, 92, Belle, died Nov. 26, 2002, at Maries Manor Nursing Home, Vienna.

He was born Feb. 2, 1910, near Belle, a son of Theodore and Julie Picker Klebba. He was married June 9, 1937, to Antoinette "Tony" Wegman, who preceded him in death.

He was a lifetime rancher on the Twin Rock Ranch, west of Belle.

Survivors include: one son, Kenneth Klebba, Salt Lake City; two sisters, Julie Johannesmeyer and Rita Welschmeyer, both of Freeburg; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Friday at Sassmann's Chapel, Belle.

LATHAM

Charles Ray Latham, 80, Fulton, died Nov. 26, 2002, at Callaway Community Hospital, Fulton.

He was born Dec. 18, 1921, in Henrietta, Okla., a son of George and Lillie Rogers Latham. He was married Aug. 4, 1949, to Wanda Titsworth, who survives at the home.

He was a longtime resident of Malta Bend and was self-employed in heating and air conditioning. He remodeled homes and apartment complexes. He was a member of American Legion and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include one son, Charlie Latham, Fulton, and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 44 of Fulton.

MEYER

G. Edgar Meyer, 93,  Jefferson City, died Nov. 26, 2002, at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.

He was born Oct. 6, 1909, in  Jefferson City, a son of John A. and Sadie Seidel Meyer. He was married Sept. 8, 1943, in Duluth, Minn., to Mabel Jackson, who survives at the home.

He was a graduate of  Jefferson City High School. He worked at the Pacific Hotel & Café before owning and operating it for 19 years. He worked for Missouri Department of Mental Health at Fulton State Hospital for four years and for Waddell & Reed Investment Company. He worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 1003 and the Missouri Sheriff's Association.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include one daughter, Susan G. Meyer,  Jefferson City, and one sister, Mildred Sippel,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Hobratschk will officiate. Entombment with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund.

MORRIS

William Eugene Morris, 74,  Jefferson City, died Nov. 26, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born April 29, 1928, in Oswego, Kan., a son of Thomas F. and Winnifred Smith Morris. He was married April 27, 1946, in Columbus, Kan., to Maxine Hilton, who survives at the home.

An over-the-road truck driver, he also worked as a carpenter. He and his wife owned Maxine's Restaurant in Russellville for six years. Known as "Bill the Auction Man," he was a member of Corticelli Baptist Church, west of Russellville. He was a life member of Carpenter and Mill Rite Union.

Other survivors include: four sons, Robert Morris, state of Georgia, Charles Morris, state of Texas , Michael Morris,  Jefferson City, and David Morris, Peculiar; four stepchildren, Rodney Barton, state of Arkansas, and David Barton, state of Florida, Shirley Wright, state of Arkansas, and Mary Holland, state of Kansas; two brothers, Jack Morris, state of  Oklahoma, and Johnny Morris, state of Kansas; one sister, Betty Hestand, state of Kansas; 24 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Corticelli Baptist Church. The Rev. Dale Beasterfeld will officiate. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Columbus, Kan.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Weber & Sons Funeral Home, Russellville.
