GORDON
Marion Bay Gordon, 85, Fulton, died July 6, 1999, at Fulton Presbyterian Manor.
She was born
Feb. 16, 1914, in Chicago, a daughter of Dr. Hiram H. and Eva Ballou Bay. She was married
Aug. 10, 1940, in Chicago, to Donald B. Gordon, who survives at Fulton Presbyterian Manor.
She graduated from the American Conservatory of Music, Chicago, and the Julliard School, New York City. She did graduate work at Columbia University, New York City, and came to Fulton 1936 to teach violin at William Woods College. She taught on the elementary level at Missouri School for the Deaf from 1958-1978.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was treasurer of Missouri Council of Exceptional Children, a Girl Scout leader, and a finalist for Missouri Mother of the Year in 1966. She was a member of KE Chapter of PEO, Fulton; and Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity for Women. in 1983 she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts distinction by the Fulton Art League.
She was concertmaster of the Jefferson City Symphony for 34 years. She performed as a violinist for churches, civic groups, chamber orchestras and ensembles for oratorios and cantatas.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Emily Frazier, Columbia, and Martha Oestreich, Jenson Beach, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Fulton, with an organ prelude by Karolyn Irwin at 2:30 p.m.
Visitation will be after the services in Fellowship Hall at the church.

RUSSELL
Craig Alan Russell, 29, Eugene, died July 7, 1999.
He was born
March 2, 1970, in Jefferson City, a son of Larry and Kathryn Haulenbeek Russell Berry. His mother survives in Jefferson City. He was married
May 5, 1990, in Mary's Home, to Renae Bax, who survives at the home.
He was employed as an electrician with Meyer Electric of Jefferson City. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Mary's Home; Knights of Columbus No. 3267, Mary's Home; and I.B.E.W. Local No. 257, Jefferson City. He also coached Little League baseball.
Other survivors include: three sons, Adrian Russell, Alex Russell and Austin Russell, all of the home; a step-mother, Carol Russell Fischer, Jefferson City; two brothers, Aaron Russell, Henley, and Kenny Surface, Jefferson City; a sister, Tammy Pearon, Jefferson City; and grandparents, Earl and Irene Russell, Henley.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. The Rev. Clarence Wiederholt will officiate. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday, with a rosary at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Russell Boys' Education Fund, Jefferson Bank, c/o Connie Forck.

SUNDERMEYER
Dorothy M. Sundermeyer, 85, Jefferson City, died July 7, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born
Aug. 14, 1913, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Matt and Christine M. Grothoff Eichholz. She was married
Nov. 20, 1941, in Jefferson City, to Chris Sundermeyer, who died Oct. 19, 1987.
She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Jefferson City, where she attended school. She worked as a seamer with Tweedie Footwear Factory for many years. She was a member of St. Peters Church and the Ladies Sodality.
Survivors include: one son, John Sundermeyer, New Bloomfield; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peters Church. The Rev. Erwin Konrad will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
WENZEL
Betty Mathenia Wenzel, 87, Vienna, died July 6, 1999, at her home.
She was born
May 7, 1912, in Vienna, a daughter of George and Mattie Copeland Smallwood. She was married
April 18, 1931, in Edwardsville, Ill., to Edgar Mathenia, who died July 20, 1966. She was married
July 16, 1971, in Waynesville, to Ambrose Wenzel, who died Jan. 20, 1998.
She lived in Granite City, Ill., and then she moved to the state of California. She was a seamstress with Levi Strauss and Rough Rider Clothing Companies for eight years. She retired and moved back to Vienna in 1963. She was a member of Vienna United Methodist Church and was vice president of United Methodist Women. She was president, secretary and media representative for Vienna Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of Rainbow Chapter No. 263 Order of the Eastern Star, Vienna; and Rebecca Lodge No. 297, Granite City, Ill.
Survivors include: one daughter, Carole Jones, Converse, Texas; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, five step great-grandchildren and one step great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, Edgar Mathenia, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Vienna United Methodist Church. The Rev. Karen Alden will officiate. Burial will be in Vienna Public Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, Vienna, with Eastern Star services at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at Vienna United Methodist Church.
Memorials are suggested to Vienna United Methodist Church or Vienna Senior Citizens Center.
HARRIS
Ella Elizabeth Harris, 86, Steedman, died July 8, 1999, at her home.
She was born
Dec. 22, 1912, in Fulton, a daughter of John H. and Vernie Hampton Hauser. She was married
Jan. 31, 1932, to Ernest F. Harris, who died March 8, 1966.
She worked at Fulton State Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1983.
Survivors include: one daughter, Myrtle Lee Chapman, of the home; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.
HAMMOND
Fred J. Hammond, 66, Climax Springs, died July 7, 1999, at his home.
He was born
April 22, 1933, in Benton County, a son of Jake O. and Lilly M. Jackson Hammond. He was married
Dec. 21, 1957, to Helen S. Crainshaw, who survives at the home.
He was a lifelong resident of the Climax Springs area and a rock mason. He was an Army veteran.
Other survivors include: three sons, Mark Hammond, Frederick Hammond and David Hammond, all of Climax Springs; one daughter, Doris Burkhamer, Climax Springs; four brothers, Jess Hammond, Kansas City, Kan., George Hammond, Peculiar, Ottis Hammond, Climax Springs, and Chester Hammond, Cross Timbers; two sisters, Myrtle Hensley, Warsaw, and Nellie King, Cross Timbers; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pearson Branch Pentecostal Church of God, Climax Springs. The Rev. Floyd Dake will officiate. Burial will be in Climax Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. today at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.

Robert P. Hofrichter, 64, Macks Creek, died July 8, 1999, at his home.
He was born
May 9, 1935, in Hebron, Neb., a son of Roy F. and Annette Pierce Hofrichter. He was married
Dec. 22, 1962, in Bolivar, to Daisy F. Boston, who survives at the home.
He was a farmer and survey party chief for the Missouri Department of Transportation. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. He was an Army veteran.
Other survivors include: one son, Jesse Hofrichter, Osage Beach; one daughter, Demi Rice, Macks Creek; and four granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Shurtleff.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Pastor John Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Parrack Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
KALLENBACH
Ernie Kallenbach, 88, Eldon, died July 8, 1999, at Eldon Healthcare Center.
He was born
Nov. 1, 1910, in Tuscumbia, a son of Oliver P. and Carrie Bell Kallenbach. He was married
Jan. 20, 1957, in St. Louis, to Trula Sides Wood, who survives at the home.
He was an International Harvester dealer for many years. He owned and operated the Buick dealership in Eldon and also a machine shop before his retirement. He was a member of First Christian Church, Eldon; and a 50 year member of the Masonic Order, Ionia Lodge 381 AF and AM.
He is also survived by one sister, Irene Menteer, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Walter D. Simpson will officiate. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday.
