HOSHAW

Louise Hoshaw, 86,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 10, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Dec. 15, 1916, in Kansas City, Kan., a daughter of Bryon C. and Verna E. Schone Broaddus. She was married to Frank R. Hoshaw, who died in April 1977.

She graduated from Paseo High School, Kansas City. She was a homemaker, moving to  Jefferson City in 1990 from Kansas City.

Survivors include: one daughter, Pat Fletcher,  Jefferson City; one sister, Alice M. Bates, Winston-Salem, N.C.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Jerrol Boehmer will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Freeman Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Louis.

LUEBBERT

Florence Luebbert, 83, Meta, died Jan. 11, 2003, at her home.

She was born Sept. 12, 1919, in Rich Fountain, a daughter of Frank and Caroline "Lena" Rudroff Grellner. She was married Jan. 14, 1942, in Rich Fountain, to John Bernard Luebbert, who died Dec. 5, 1988.

She was a homemaker and owned John Luebberts Tavern and Cafe in Meta from 1945-1959. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Meta.

Survivors include: one son, Jackie Luebbert, Meta; one brother, Felix Boehm, Rich Fountain; and one sister, Ann Redel,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. The Rev. John Schutty will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Carmelite Monastery, 2201 West Main,  Jefferson City, Mo. 65109.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Meta.

ROBINSON

Lucille H. Robinson, 84,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 11, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born April 19, 1918, in Ellington, a daughter of Harold M. and Anna Belle Burnham Horn. She was married Dec. 27, 1939, in Piggott, Ark., to Alton P. "Rob" Robinson, who died Nov. 20, 1978.

She graduated from Ellington High School and attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar. She graduated from Southwest Missouri University in Springfield. She was a elementary teacher in Ellington for 35 years until her retirement in 1978. She was a resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1998. She was a past member of First Baptist Church, Ellington, where she was pianist.

She was a member of Southgate Baptist Church, Springfield.

She was a member of Missouri State Teachers Association and the Missouri State Retirement Employees Association.

Survivors include: one son, Norm Robinson,  Jefferson City; one daughter, Lucretia A. Jackson, Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Daughter, Mary Catherine Robinson, died in 1942 and daughter, Martha Sue Crowder, died in 1997.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn North Cemetery, Springfield. The Rev. Burnell Lewis will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Heisinger Lutheran Retirement Home or a charity or church of the donor's choice.

SCHULTE

Gene Anthony Schulte, 33, St. Anthony, died Jan. 11, 2003, near Meta, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born April 26, 1969, in Iberia, a son of Harry F. and Berniece Ann Rehagen Schulte. His mother survives in St. Anthony. He was married April 24, 1993, in St. Anthony, to Rita Wieberg, who survives at the home.

He worked for Curtiss-Manes-Schulte Construction Company in Eldon. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, St. Anthony.

He served on the St. Anthony Park Board and was a St. Anthony 4-H Club volunteer.

Other survivors include: one son, Matthew Schulte, of the home; one daughter, Brianna Schulte, of the home; five brothers, Richard Schulte, George Schulte, Paul Schulte and Dennis Schulte, all of St. Anthony and Jerome Schulte, Bagnell; six sisters, twin, Joan Dickneite, Elizabeth Holtmeyer and Helen Otto, all of St. Elizabeth, Carol Falter, Argyle and Joyce Wieberg and Doris Kliethermes, both of St. Anthony.

One infant daughter, Brittany Lauren Schulte, died June 21, 1996.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Church. The Rev. M. Christopher Smith will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Parish Hall, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Matthew and Brianna Schulte Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.

STEGEMAN

Linda F. Stegeman, 58,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 12, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born May 15, 1944, in Cole County, a daughter of Clarence and Alma Raithel Rackers. She was married Sept. 29, 1962, in Taos, to Orville H. Stegeman, who survives at the home.

She was a 1962 graduate of Fatima High School, Westphalia. She was a clerk typist for the Missouri League of Nursing since 1988. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the society of Our Lady of Snows.

Other survivors include: two sons, Tim Stegeman, Prairie Village, Kan., and Troy Stegeman, Holts Summit; two daughters, Tina Ness, Overland Park, Kan., and Tracie Simon, Independence; three brothers, Norbert Rackers, Glenn Rackers and Leon Rackers, all of  Jefferson City; five sisters, Del Prenger and Grace Blank, both of  Jefferson City, Rose Reinsch, Wardsville, Janet Kauffman, Lohman, and Carol Ricks, Springfield; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. J. David Maher will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Taos, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

BALLEW

William Henry Ballew, 72,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 13, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born May 15, 1930, in Fayette, a son of Romeo and Virginia Powell Ballew. He was married June 24, 1956, in New Franklin, to Eleanor Dockins, who survives at the home.

He graduated from New Franklin High School in 1948 and from Central Methodist College in 1958. An Air Force veteran, he coached basketball while in the service and won the European championship. He taught and coached at New Franklin High School from 1958-1965. He then taught and coached at Montgomery County R-2 High School, Montgomery City, until his retirement in 1986. In 1972, his team won the Missouri Class M boys state championship.

He was inducted into the Missouri Coaches Hall of Fame in Springfield in 2001. He was a member of Capital City Christian Church,  Jefferson City.

Other survivors include: one son, Kirk Ballew, Montgomery City; one daughter, Debbie Gieseker, Mexico; two brothers, Donald Slater, Odessa, and Chuck Slater, Atlanta; one sister, Florence Slater, Atlanta, Ga.; and six grandchildren.

One son, Mark Alan Ballew, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Capital City Christian Church. The Rev. Gary Baker and the Rev. John Tarbet will officiate. Graveside services with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, New Franklin.

There also will be a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Montgomery County High School.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the MS Institute, DC205.00, One Hospital Dr., Columbia, Mo.; or to the Capital City Christian Church Building Fund,  Jefferson City.
