MICHAELS

Jo Ann Michaels, 48, Lake Ozark, died Jan. 12, 2003, in Lake Ozark.

She was born Feb. 22, 1954, in Denver, a daughter of Eugene F. and Barbara J. Knott Michaels. Her mother survives in Lake Ozark. She was married Aug. 26, 1972, in Denver, to Eugene Browne.

She was a homemaker.

Other survivors include: one son, Matthew Browne,  Jefferson City; one daughter, Laura Sauer, Eldon; two brothers, Steven Michaels, Eldon, and Tony Michaels, Phoenix; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, Wis.

Visitation will be from 7- 8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. The Rev. James J. O'Sullivan will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

BIGELOW

David E. Bigelow, 88,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 8, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born July 20, 1914, in Lockport, Ill., a son of Edmund B. and Bertha M. Weber Bigelow. He was married in 1969, in Orange County, Calif., to Nadine Wiscombe, who died in 1989.

He graduated from Lockport High School, Lockport, Ill., and from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. He was an ordained minister of the United Church of Christ for many years before his retirement in 1964. A resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1993, he worked at Missouri River Regional Library for several years. He was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and received recognition for the senior volunteer of the year in the states of North Carolina and Missouri.

Survivors include: three sons, John D. Bigelow, Arnold, Paul R. Bigelow, Kansas City, and Daniel P. Bigelow, Eldorado Hills, Calif.; one brother, Edmund B. Bigelow Jr., Cameron Park, Calif.; one sister, Mary June Hoover, Attica, Ind.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the Capital Area Red Cross.

BRATTON

Jewell M. Bratton, 86, Fulton, died Jan. 14, 2003, at Fulton Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Nov. 18, 1916, in Toledo, a daughter of Clarence F. and Bernice Jennings Pasley. She was married June 16, 1943, in Linn, to Louis A. Bratton, who died Nov. 12, 2002.

She worked as a dining room supervisor for the Fulton State Hospital. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and Gideons Women's Auxiliary.

Survivors include: one daughter, Connie Adams, Columbia; and two grandchildren.

One grandson preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Southside Baptist Church, Fulton. The Rev. Ron Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. today at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.

Memorials are suggested to The Gideons International and the Alzheimer Association.

DUBY

Goldie Ann Duby, 92, Phoenix, formerly of Camdenton, died Jan. 12, 2003, in Phoenix.

She was born March 25, 1910, in Roach, a daughter of William S. and Cora Ann Doyle Osborn. She was married in 1933 to Leonard L. Duby, who died in 1960.

She worked at the Forum Cafeteria in Kansas City. She moved to Aurora Springs and worked on the family farm and then moved to Camdenton, where she helped care for the children of several families. In 2000, she moved to Phoenix. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Camdenton, and worked in the church nursery for 18 years.

Survivors include one sister, Ruth Blair, Phoenix.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Big Niangua Cemetery, Roach.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday. There will be a dinner at noon at First Baptist Church.

KRULL

Richard Thomas Krull, 90, Stover, died Jan. 14, 2003, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia.

He was born Aug. 23, 1912, in Kansas City, Kan., a son of Joseph F. and Emma Weixeldorfer Krull. He was married July 20, 1947, in Warsaw, to Charlene Ruth Fajen, who survives at the home.

He was a 1931 graduate of Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, Kan. He was a printer and pressman in Kansas City, Kan., and a projectionist at the Osage Theatre. He worked for Fajen and Blair Gunstock Factory in Stover until his retirement. He was a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, Versailles. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Emma Jeanne Zurmiller, Sikeston, and Vicki Shackelford, Republic; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover. The Rev. C.D. Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Stover.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church.

McCULLOCH

Opal W. McCulloch, 63, Versailles, died Jan. 14, 2003, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.

She was born Oct. 6, 1939, in Stilwell, Okla., a daughter of Jess and Cora Scott Clinton. She was married Oct. 26, 1963, to James R. McCulloch, who survives at the home.

She was a homemaker.

Other survivors include: three sons, Edward McCulloch, Versailles, James A. McCulloch, Kansas City, and Robert W. McCulloch, Independence; one daughter, Sheryl D. Clinton, Kansas City; one brother, Floyd Tuell, Oak Grove; three sisters, Annabell Blevins, Tulsa, Okla., Imogene Clark, Independence, and Ella Mae Phillips, Belton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Leslie Howard will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Saturday.

PACE

Harry Lee "Peg" Pace, 91, Fulton, died Jan. 13, 2003, at Presbyterian Manor, Fulton.

He was born Feb. 23, 1911, in Smithton, a son of John H. and Martha Jane Shull Pace. He was married July 2, 1932, in Smithton, to Dorothy N. Hotsenpiller, who died in August 1997.

He worked for Missouri Farm Bureau home office in  Jefferson City, retiring after 25 years. He was a member of Court St. United Methodist Church, Fulton. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a 58-year member of the Masonic Order, with membership in the Twilight Lodge, Columbia.

Survivors include: two daughters, Patty "P.J." Cook, Stephens, and Barbara "B.A." McGrath, Fulton; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

One son, James R. Pace, and one grandson preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Raymond McCallister will officiate. Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, with Masonic services at 7:15 p.m.

SHORT

H. Christine Short, 88, Stover, died Jan. 14, 2003, at Golden Age Living Center, Stover.

She was born Jan. 17, 1914, in St. Louis, a daughter of Ivy and Elizabeth Bacon Perkins. She was married May 17, 1941, in Dixon, to Arthur Short, who survives at Golden Age Living Center.

She was a teacher for 38 years in Dixon, Stover and Cole Camp. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Stover, where she taught the ladies Sunday school class for 50 years.

Other survivors include one son, Eugene Short, Irving, Texas , two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

One son, Kenneth Short, died Nov. 29, 1986.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dinzel Webb will officiate. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, Stover.
