CAUTRELL
Orilla Florence Cautrell, 86, Bland, died Jan. 23, 2003, in Frene Valley Nursing Home, Owensville.
She was born Nov. 20, 1916, south of Canaan, a daughter of Russell M. and Mahala Elizabeth Shockley Jett. She was married July 24, 1937, to Jesse Willard Cautrell, who survives.
A lifetime resident of the Bland area, she was a member of First Baptist Church, Bland, where she worked in the nursery for more than 40 years. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge for more than 50 years.
Survivors include: two daughters, Joann Michel, Bland, and Peggy Biles, Maryland Heights; one sister, Adata Beesley, Owensville; four grandsons, 13 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bland Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30-8 p.m. today at Sassmann's Funeral Home, Bland.
ENGLISH
Cecil Lawrence English, 87, Calwood, died Jan. 22, 2003, at Columbia Regional Hospital.
He was born Feb. 14, 1915, in Bachelor, a son of Millard F. and Bertie Qualls English. He was married Aug. 6, 1936, in Eldon, to Martha Schaefer, who survives at the home.
He worked for Auxvasse Stone & Gravel Company, was an administrator for Kingdom Nursing Home, Fulton, and was an insurance agent. He was a veteran of World War II, receiving a Bronze Star.
Other survivors include one son, Phil English, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Walter Lockhart will officiate. Burial will be in Ebenezer Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the Ebenezer Church Cemetery Fund.
FITZGERALD
Mildred G. Fitzgerald, 77, Chamois, died Jan. 22, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Hawkeye, a daughter of George and Pearlie Harrison Abbott. She was married April 4, 1978, in Tuscumbia, to John R. Fitzgerald, who survives at the home.
She worked as a clerk in the license bureau for the State of Missouri until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: three sisters, Effie Robinett, Eldon, Virginia Wallis, Baldwin City, Kan., and Nellie Skiles, Tuscumbia.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn. The Rev. David Krueger will officiate. Burial will be in Linn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
DeVORSS
Evelyn DeVorss, 75, Sunrise Beach, died Jan. 23, 2003, at Lake Regional Health System.
She was born June 22, 1927, in Burlington, Iowa, a daughter of Seth and Lois Kuntz Phillips. She was married, in Kansas City, in 1946, to Warren DeVorss, who survives at the home.
She retired from AT&T as a supervisor after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Drag and Threaders Club in Laurie.
Other survivors include: one son, Stephen DeVorss, Blue Springs; one brother, Robert Phillips, state of Kansas; one sister, Carol Lawson, Camdenton; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11.30 a.m. Tuesday at Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurie. The Rev. James Lawley will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
COCHRAN
Pauline Fern "Polly" Cochran, 63, Iberia, died Jan. 23, 2003, at her home.
She was born Sept. 18, 1939, in Brumley, a daughter of William and Opal Stout Robinett. She was married Aug. 3, 1956, in Iberia, to Francis Lee Cochran, who survives at the home.
She worked as a seamstress at L.B. Manufacturing and was a member of Hawkeye Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Sandy Perry, Iberia; three sons, Rocky Cochran, Roddy Cochran and Jimmy Cochran, all of Iberia; one sister, Betty Criner, Iberia; three brothers, Dolar Robinett, Eldon, Dick Robinett, Glendale, Ariz., and Sam Robinett, Dixon; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Kenny Sullins and the Rev. Lee Todd will officiate. Burial will be in Dick Lawson Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.
CALDWELL
Della Faye Caldwell, 53, Eldon, died Jan. 22, 2003, in Eldon.
She was born Jan. 17, 1950, in Lake Ozark, a daughter of Francis J. and Doris E. Boots Caldwell.
She was a 1972 graduate of Central Missouri State University, receiving a bachelor's degree in education. She earned her master's degree from Central Missouri State University in 1979. She taught for more than 30 years, 26 of which were at School of the Osage. She also taught from 1972-1979 at Ft. Osage Elementary School in Independence. She taught kindergarten through eighth grades in special education, learning disabilities and as a reading specialist. She served as Title One reading teacher. She was a member of the Heart of America Boxer Club and raised and showed champion boxer dogs.
Survivors include: one brother, Francis J. Caldwell, Lexington; four sisters, Shirley Hines, Independence, Carolyn Joyce Moore, Buckner, Laura Ellen Bybee, Kingsville, and Barbara Fay Hunt, Ponca City, Okla.
Services will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

BELL
Homer Lee Bell, 91, Dixon, died Jan. 23, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born May 26, 1911, in Maries County, a son of Thomas J. and Luella Weaver Bell. He was married Dec. 12, 1935, in Dixon, to Delia Gocke, who survives at the home.
He was a carpenter, construction worker and a life-long farmer in Maries County. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dixon, for 65 years.
Other survivors include: three sons, Homer Bell Jr., Franz Bell and Jim Bell, all of Dixon; one daughter, Fern Robertson, Vienna; three sisters, Lora Thornhill, state of California, Delphia Carbone, Wheaton, Ill., and Fay Salafich, New Orleans; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. The Rev. John Parker and the Rev. Jim Denbow will officiate. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday and from 10-11 a.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, Dixon.
GOODMAN
Betty Lee Goodman, 73, Versailles, died Jan. 23, 2003, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
She was born March 2, 1929, in Stover, a daughter of Ben and Viola Coit. She was married April 16, 1950, to Darrel Goodman, who survives at the home.
She was a school teacher and a teacher's aide and administrative assistant for Morgan County R-II Junior High School, Versailles. She also served on the board of the Morgan County Mental Health Center.
She was a member of the Versailles United Methodist Church, working in the Sunday school department and church library.
Other survivors include: two sons, Ken Goodman, Houston, and Mark Goodman, Washington , D.C.; one brother, Glen Coit, Stover; three sisters, Melba Akers, Independence, Patricia Rabe, El Dorado Springs, and Mavis Garrison, Lee's Summit; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
