GARBER
Daniel Clifford Garber, 70, Versailles, died Jan. 25, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 14, 1932, near Versailles, a son of Daniel J. and Elma B. Aeschbacher Garber. He was married June 24, 1956, in Las Vegas, to Lavona Moellman, who survives at the home.
He was a retired truck driver for Associated Wholesale Grocers and a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a farmer and a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dan Garber Jr., Independence, and Tony Garber, Versailles; one daughter, Pam Garber, Versailles; two brothers, Vernon Garber, Apache Junction, Ariz., and Laurel Garber, Tipton; two sisters, Lydia Lehman, Berne, Ind., and Erma Goering, Mound Ridge, Kan.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Mennonite Church. Tom Voth and Dale Bentch will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
Memorials are suggested to the Providence Community Center.
STRICKFADEN
Elmer L. Strickfaden, 84, California, died Jan. 25, 2003, at Moniteau Care Center, California.
He was born March 15, 1918, in Cooper County, a son of Henry W. and Louise Mary Baker Strickfaden. He was married Aug. 14, 1940, in California, to Mary Ann Albers, who died Dec. 8, 1979. He was married Dec. 12, 1979, to Georgia "Jo" Beckett, who survives in Valley Park.
He was a pipe layer for Phillips Pipe Line. He also worked for Krafts Food in the milk plant and for Barry Construction. He was a farmer and a member of Annunciation Catholic Church.
Other survivors include: two sons, Larry Strickfaden, California, and Jerry Strickfaden, Tipton; two brothers, Andrew "Dude" Strickfaden, California, and Harold "Shorty" Strickfaden, Hazelwood; three sisters, Velma Fulks, Boonville, and Margaret Strickfaden and Mildred McPherson, both of California; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Annunciation Catholic Church. The Rev. Greg Higley will officiate. Burial will be in California Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

WARD
Johnny Ward, 37, Jefferson City, died Jan. 25, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born March 12, 1965, in St. Louis, a son of James Edward Smith and LaManthia L. Ward. His farther survives in St. Louis and his mother survives in Peoria, Ill. He was married Feb. 6, 1998, in Jefferson City, to Christina Y. Sayles, who survives at the home.
He was a cook at Smitty's Restaurant and Perkins Restaurant in Champaign, Ill.
Other survivors include: five sons, Johnny Ward Jr., San Diego, Calif., and Jordan Ward, Jaron Ward, Jamal Ward and Orlando Ward, all of Jefferson City; three daughters, Shonte Ward, San Diego, Calif., and Johnetta Ward and Jonte Ward, both of Champaign, Ill.; four brothers, James Ward, Dixon, Ill., and Roy Ward, Stephen Ward, and Prodion Ward, all of Peoria, Ill.; three sisters, Xatonya Ward and Stephanie Ward, both of Peoria, Ill., and Dorlita Adams, St. Louis.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. The Rev. Cornell C. Sudduth Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the Johnny Ward Memorial Fund.
DOOLEY
Dorothy M. Dooley, 88, Jefferson City, died Jan. 27, 2003, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
Arrangements are at Buescher Memorial Home.
KLOEPPEL
Katherine "Katie" Kloeppel, 91, Meta, died Jan. 25, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Care Center.
She was born Jan. 20, 1912, in Argyle, a daughter of Matt and Ann Owens Eicholz. She was married Aug. 19, 1935, to Gerhard F. Kloeppel, who died Aug. 31, 1999.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Meta.
Survivors include: one son, Donald Kloeppel, Kansas City; one daughter, Carolyn Bluma, Jefferson City; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Betty Kloeppel, died in 1994.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. The Rev. John Schutty will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Rekus Funeral Home, Meta, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
FRANCIS
Adelbert A. "Bert" Francis, 90, St. Louis, formerly of California, died Jan. 26, 2003 in St. Louis.
Arrangements are at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
BILLINGS
Services were today for Carl E. Billings, 61, Holts Summit, who died Jan. 26, 2003, at his home.
He was born Jan. 26, 1942, in Viola, Ark., a son of Leonard and Opal McMannis Billings. He was married Dec. 5, 1981, in New Bloomfield, to Ellen Mildred Keeney, who survives at the home.
He was a 1960 graduate of Viola High School. He was a mechanic and operated Carl's Transport, Holts Summit.
Other survivors include: one son, Chris Billings, Jefferson City; two daughters, Amy Smith, Versailles, and Carlene Hall, Kansas City; one brother, Howard Billings, Viola, Ark.; one sister, Linda Billings, Viola, Ark.; and 12 grandchildren.
One son, Leonard Billings, preceded him in death.
Services were at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit. The Rev. Tom Mustang officiated.

CLEMENS
James R. "Ray-Cee" Clemens, 86, Camdenton, died Jan. 25, 2003, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.
He was born May 3, 1916, in Pleasant Hill, a son of James G. and Emma Jane Marriott Clemens. He was married May 10, 1962, in Falls Creek, Neb., to Kaye Morris, who survives at the home.
He was a switchman for Rock Island Railroad for 35 years. He was a 50-year member of the Wyandotte Masonic Lodge 3, Scottish Rite and Shriners, Kansas City and a member of the United Transportation Union.
Other survivors include: one son, Larry Clemens, Camdenton; three daughters, Janet Metz, Lexington, Sandra Shupe, Linn Creek, and Debra Orear, Joplin; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
One son, Mark Clemens, preceded him in death.
Services will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.
DAKE
Nova Dake, 88, Iberia, died Jan. 26, 2003, at Miller County Care Center, Tuscumbia.
She was born May 8, 1914, in Miller County, a daughter of Theodore T. and Minnie Octavia Humphrey Skaggs. She was married Nov. 15, 1949, in St. Louis, to Truman Albert Dake, who died June 2, 1997.
She was a homemaker and a member of Brays Advent Christian Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include: two brothers, Rayborn Skaggs, Salem, and Gordon Skaggs, Port Richey, Fla.; and two sisters, Faye Lamb, St. Louis, and Alma Myers, Marble Hill.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Earl Skidds will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Brays Advent Christian Church or Union Cemetery.
