MURRAY
Thomas Leroy Murray, 67, Holts Summit, died Feb. 1, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born May 29, 1935, in Centertown, a son of Thomas H. and Beulah May Dudley Murray. His mother, Beulah May Decker, survives in California. He was married May 28, 1994, in Holts Summit, to Nancy Ann Messer, who survives at the home.
He attended California High School. He was a truck driver for Farmer's Concrete for 25 years and was a member of Teamster's Local 833.
Other survivors include: four sons, Greg Murray, Kelly Murray and Kevin Murray, all of Jefferson City, and Danny Murray, Holts Summit; two daughters, Cheryl Murray, Taos and Leigh Ann Murray, Jefferson City; one stepson, Jamie Basnett, Russellville; one stepdaughter, Penny Rustemeyer, Holts Summit; nine grandchildren; and eight step grandchildren.
One infant grandson, one stepdaughter and one step granddaughter, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Holts Summit. The Rev. Gerald Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Centertown Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Holts Summit Fire Department or the Jefferson City Police Department DARE program.
OLTEN
Lorraine H. Olten, 74, Lake Ozark, died Feb. 1, 2003, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.
She was born Feb. 4, 1928, in St. Louis, a daughter of Lester and Lillian Beaver O'Guin. She was married Feb. 14, 1958, in Warren County, to Elmer Olten, who survives at the home.
She was a resident of the Lake of the Ozark area since 1980. She was co-owner of the Shirt Shack on the Strip.
Other survivors include four sons, one daughter, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.
PADEN
Regina B. Paden, 91, Jefferson City, died Feb. 2, 2003, at Green Meadow Nursing Center, Linn.
She was born Sept. 26, 1911, in Linn, a daughter of Herman and Catherine Schroeder Maasen. She was married April 17, 1932, in Jefferson City, to John A. Paden, who died Sept. 6, 1997.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, she attended St. George School in Linn. She and her husband owned and operated Paden Motor Company and the Carriers Verification Company for many years prior to retirement in 1982. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the St. Ann Sodality and Immaculate Conception Circle. She was a member of Daughters of Isabella and St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert L. Paden, Quincy, Ill., and David C. Paden, Jefferson City; two daughters, Arlene McVey, Jefferson City, and Cynthia Stone, Norfolk, Va.; one sister, Clara Paschal, Linn; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. Thomas Alber will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Freeman Mortuary, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Helias Foundation.
SEIDEL
Josephine Seidel, 90, Lohman, died Feb. 1, 2003, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born Oct. 6, 1912, in Cole County, a daughter of Louis and Theresia Koestner Fischer. She was married Aug. 3, 1935, west of Jefferson City, to Hadley E. Seidel, who died Nov. 15, 1984.
She attended Corinth Public and Zion Lutheran parochial schools. She was a farm wife and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown. She was active in the Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include: two sons, H. F. Seidel and Grant Seidel, both of Lohman; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown. The Rev. Warren Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.
Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Cemetery Fund or the Lutheran Braille Workers.
WILSON
Spurgeon Loyd Wilson, 75, Iberia, died Feb. 1, 2003, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.
He was born Nov. 22, 1927, in Dixon, a son of Leonard and Frankie Dake Wilson. He was married Nov. 3, 1951, in Harrison, Ark., to Inah Lou Shelton, who survives at the home.
He was a heavy equipment operator in the Iberia area. He was a member of the Brumley Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. He was a member of Iberia American Legion Post 105 and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Other survivors include: one son, Randal Lloyd Wilson, Iberia; one daughter, Deann Murray, Cape Coral, Fla.; three brothers, Leonard Junior Wilson and Bobby Wilson, both of Iberia, and Kenneth Wilson, St. Elizabeth; three sisters, Edna Humphrey and Margaret Cochran, both of Iberia, and Ruby Mees, state of Arizona; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Rekus Funeral Home. The Rev. Vernon Arthur and the Rev. David Williams will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Brumley Baptist Church, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
BAKER
Scott W. Baker, 38, Jefferson City, died Feb. 3, 2003, at his home.
He was born March 23, 1964, in Olney, Ill., a son of Gary W. and Joan P. Ellsworth Baker, who survive in Jefferson City.
He was a lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area and a 1982 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He attended Lincoln University. He worked for several years as a sales representative for Kehe Food Distribution.
He was a member of the Capital City Christian Church.
Other survivors include: one sister, Jill R. Findley, Jefferson City; paternal grandparents, Charley and Mae Baker, Jefferson City; and maternal grandmother, Twila Mae Ellsworth, Edwardsville, Ill.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Capital City Christian Church. John Tarbet will officiate. Burial will be in the Oklahoma Church of Christ Cemetery, near Linn.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Capital City Christian Church Building Fund.
BARRETT
Ruth Ann Barrett, 89, Jefferson City, died Feb. 3, 2003, at Oak View Skilled Care Facility.
She was born Feb. 1, 1914, in Jefferson City, a daughter of C. Abe and Ida A. Beaver Brown. She was married June 26, 1946, in Jefferson City, to Lowell G. Barrett, who died April 13, 1998.
She was a 1932 graduate of Jefferson City High School and attended Jefferson City Business College. She was a secretary at the Missouri State Capitol and was owner of Brown-Barrett Antique Retail Store. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Victory Service Club and the Beta Sigma Sorority.
Survivors include cousins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or the Missouri Humane Society.
