FRANCIS
Adelbert Ayars "Bert" Francis, 90, St. Louis, formerly of California, died Jan. 26, 2003, in St. Louis.
He was born July 28, 1912, in St. Louis, a son of Estil Wright and Jessie Lee Miller Francis. He was married June 12, 1936, in St. Louis, to Francis "Fronnie" Shaw Francis, who died Jan. 17, 1999.
He owned A.A. Francis Construction Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church, California. He was a graduate of Clayton High School, St. Louis, and he attended the University of Tennessee. He also attended Harvard Business School.
Survivors include: one son, Adelbert A. "Bert" Francis, St. Louis; one daugther, Kathryn F. "Kathy" Shoop, Stillwater, Minn.; one brother, William W. Francis, Edmond, Okla.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church, California. The Rev. David Nicholson will officiate. Burial services will be private.

PARRISH
Howard Parrish, 79, Camdenton, died Feb. 7, 2003, at the Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.
He was born Jan. 23, 1924, in Camden County, a son of Oscar and Dora Crall Parrish. He was married Sept. 19, 1951, in Camdenton, to Hazel Shipman, who survives at the home.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the VFW Post 5923 and the American Legion Post 193, both in Camdenton. He was past commander of the American Legion and was a current officer in the VFW. He was awarded the Bronze Star. After the military, he was a farmer and merchant.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Anna Marie Howard, Plattsburg, Sandra Kay Johnson, Lebanon, and Mary Sue Ginnings, Camdenton; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Parrish.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at the Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Rick Ginnings and the Rev. Shawnee Ripley will officiate. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today.

SHACKELFORD
Stella Shackelford, 94, Eldon, died Feb. 7, 2003, at Eldon.
She was born July 26, 1908, in Iberia, a daughter of John K. and Samantha Jermima (Stone) Shackelford.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Greenridge Baptist Church, Eldon.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.
Visitation is from 9-11 a.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the Eldon Healthcare Center or the Institute for the Deaf.
SHELTON
Matilda Mary "Sis" Shelton, 85, Jefferson City, died Feb. 7, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Feb. 5, 1918, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Frank Joseph Rackers and Henrietta Bemboom Rackers. She was married Dec. 15, 1934, in Jefferson City, to Harold Clarence Shelton, who died Sept. 3, 1974.
She worked for 22 years with International Shoe Company and with the Missouri Department of Revenue for 19 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. Ann's Sodality, Immaculata Club, St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary and the Legion of Mary.
Survivors include: one son, Harold C. Shelton Jr., Mt. Vernon, Texas ; one sister, Dorothy Rackers, Jefferson City; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Fennewald, and one grandson.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas L. Alber and Rev. Mr. Robert J. Rackers will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Dulle Trimble Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

BARDWELL
Bonnie K. Bardwell, 75, California, died Feb. 8, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 1, 1927, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Clayborn and Pearl Davis Hayden. She was married Dec. 1, 1945, in Olathe, Kan., to Edward Jesse Bardwell, who died Jan. 20, 1992.
She was a homemaker and a member of Main Street Baptist Church, California.
Survivors include: six sons, Gary Bardwell, California, Eddie Bardwell, Winterhaven, Fla., Billy Joe Bardwell, Bonner Springs, Kan., Allen Bardwell, Beggs, Okla., Davy Bardwell, Independence, and Jerry Bardwell, Kansas City, Kan.; one daughter, Kathy Bardwell, California; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
One son, Larry Bardwell, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Maple Hill Chapel, Kansas City, Kan. The Rev. Ken Mathes will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. Additional visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at Maple Hill Chapel, Kansas City, Kan.

DAVIS
Samuel R. Davis, 78, Garland, Texas , died Feb. 8, 2003.
He was born March 4, 1924, in Mokane, a son of Barnabus and Harriett Davis. He was married to Annie Davis, who preceded him in death.
He was a member of First Christian Church, Garland. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include: one son, Stephen Davis, Quinlan, Texas ; one sister, Helen Davis, Mokane; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Williams Funeral Directors, Garland, Texas . Pastor Danny Hockemeyer will officiate. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today.
KINKADE
Richard Lee Kinkade, 65, Lohman, died Feb. 8, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Sept. 28, 1937, in Painsville, Ohio, a son of Vernon C. and Edith A. Smith. His mother survives in Kansas City. He was married Nov. 27, 1957, in Raytown, to Lois C. Betteridge, who survives.
He graduated from Westport High School, Kansas City, in 1955. He worked in the telephone industry until his retirement in 1999.
Other survivors include: two sons, Mark Kinkade, Olathe, Kan., and John Kinkade, Lohman; one daughter, Lynda Engelage, Lohman; one brother, Jack C. Kinkade, Forsyth; one sister, Patricia A. Buchta, Shawnee, Kan.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the home.

MANES
Anna Mae Manes, 92, Crocker, died Feb. 8, 2003, at Breech Medical Center, Lebanon.
She was born May 8, 1910, in Swedeborg, a daughter of Edward and Anna Lundston Peterson. She was married in Swedeborg, to William Clair Manes, who died in 1938.
She was a member of Harvest Baptist Temple, Illinois. She was a cook for the Oak Knoll Sanitarium in Mackinaw, Ill., for 15 years, retiring in 1973.
Survivors include: one son, William "Bill" Manes, Crocker; three daughters, Laverne Carroll and Patsy Jean Wilkes, both of Crocker, Mary Ann Jacobson, Richland; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
One son, Robert Manes, and one grandson, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Long Funeral Home, Crocker. Pastor Nick Salsman will officiate. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Swedeborg.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.
