KIBLER

James Aldine "Rick" Kibler Jr., 45,  Jefferson City, died Feb. 18, 2003, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born March 26, 1957, in Harrisonburg, Va., a son of James A. and Nova B. Helmich Kibler. His stepmother, Nancy Kibler survives in the state of Virginia. He was married Aug. 25, 1979, in St. Elizabeth, to Mary L. Tappehorn, who survives at the home.

He attended school in Columbia. He worked for Capital Region Medical Center from 1977-1996 and for Wal-Mart since 1996. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Men's Sodality.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Lammers will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or St. Peter Catholic Church.

BOSLEY

Ben Bosley, 56, Ivy Bend, died Feb. 19, 2003, at his home.

He was born Aug. 20, 1946, in Warrensburg, a son of Gloria Eisel Kesterson, who survives in Overland Park, Kan. He was married May 1, 1965, in Overland Park, to Linda Joann Means, who survives at the home.

He was a graduate of Shawnee Mission West (Kansas) High School. He worked for Electronic Research Company from 1965-1978 and for HES International from 1980-1995, both in Shawnee, Kan., area. In 1995, he moved to Ivy Bend, where he owned and operated the Ivy Bend Resort.

Other survivors include: one son, Chris Bosley, Merriam, Kan.; two brothers, Dennis Bosley, Shawnee, Kan., and Art Kesterson, Bucyrus, Kan.; and three grandsons.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

SCHUPP

Graveside services were Thursday for Joan Marie Schupp, 68, Versailles, who died Feb. 19, 2003, in Versailles.

She was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Kansas City, Kan., a daughter of Albert and Bernice Wood Gaither.

She worked for the Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. She was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church, Rocky Mount.

Survivors include: one son, John Cotten, Eldon; four daughters, Linda Witherell and Tina Sustecek, both of Barnett, Sylvia Cotten, Mt. Pleasant, and Melissa Martin, Versailles; two brothers, Ronald Gaither and Michael Gaither, both of Independence; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were in Tol Wood Cemetery, Eldon. Pastor Landon "Cap" Chapman officiated.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Arrangements were under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

SPURGEON

Dorothy Hurst Spurgeon, 84, Ceres, Calif., formerly of Dixon, died Feb. 15, 2003, at Doctor's Medical Center, Modesto, Calif.

She was born Oct. 29, 1918, in Phoenix, a daughter of William J. and Estelle Edna Goff Whisnant. She was married June 19, 1937, in Sodaville, Ore., to Wayne Alvin Hurst, who died Oct. 15, 1962. She was married Feb. 15, 1964, in Lebanon, Ore., to John Elva Spurgeon, who died June 11, 1988.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: two sons, Kenneth Hurst, Berea, Ky., and Richard Hurst, Dixon; two daughters, Barbara Siewell, Grants Pass, Ore., and Sharon McCormick, Copperopolis, Calif.; two stepdaughters, LueRetta Rollins, Springville, Tenn., and Dorania Erickson, Lebanon, Ore.; one brother, Donald Whisnant, Brownsville, Ore.; 39 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

One son, Dean Hurst, and three stepsons, Ralph Spurgeon, Burgess Spurgeon and Linsey Spurgeon, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Edmond Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Kenner Cemetery, Dixon.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

CREED

Ruth Monica Creed, 71, Gravois Mills, died Feb. 20, 2003, at her home.

She was born March 2, 1931, in Hugo, a daughter of Robert H. and Clarissa Jane Pope Miller. She was married Oct. 6, 1949, in Kansas City, Kan., to William E. Creed, who died Oct. 12, 2001.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Laurie. She sang in the church choir.

Survivors include: three daughters, Linda Jean Creed, Laurie, Mary Janee Barnes, Denver, and Jenna R. Angell, Camdenton; four brothers, Robert G. Miller, Koshkonong, Thomas Walter Miller, Independence, James Joseph Miller, Northglenn, Colo., and Roy William Miller, Blue Springs; two sisters, Mary Catherine Dusil, Bonner Springs, Kan., and Clara Wilma Lenox, Kansas City; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Cynthia Ruth Weyrough, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Msgr. Gerard Poelker will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10 a.m. Monday at the church. There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home. Laurie.

MUZZY

Leila Virginia Muzzy, 94, Fulton, died Feb. 21, 2003, at Lenoir Health Care Center, Columbia.

She was born June 21, 1908, in Mercer, Tenn., a daughter of Eugene and Lela Mercer Davis. She was married June 11, 1933, in Mercer, to Lee Wilby Muzzy, who died Feb. 28, 1981.

She graduated from Union University, Jackson, Tenn. She did graduate dietitian work at Reese Hospital, Chicago. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fulton.

Survivors include: one son, Richard Muzzy, Columbia; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Barbara Lee Muzzy, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. John Barden will officiate.

The family will receive friends after the service.

Memorials are suggested to Church World Service/CROP WALK, c/o Jane Guthery, Fulton Crop Walk Chairman, PO Box 1073,  Jefferson City, MO.

WHITE

Evelyn Sue White , 75, Ashland, died Feb. 21, 2003, at Boone Hospital Center.

She was born June 24, 1927, in Hatton, a daughter of William and Nettie Mae Davis Bilderback. Her stepmother, Ella Bilderback, survives. She was married Aug. 4, 1945, in Ashland, to Robert White , who died July 21, 1992.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: two sons, Doug White and Denis White , both of Ashland; one daughter, Leslea Bell, Republic; five brothers, Bill Herron, Englewood, Donald Herron and Daryl Herron, both of Columbia, Billy Wayne Bilderback and Gary Bilderback, both of Olathe, Kan.; five sisters, Mabel Heard, Centerville, Va., Doris Reno, Lois Wilhite and Elaine Allen, all of Columbia, and Sharon Busker, Kansas City; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Lisa White , preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland. The Rev. Jim Smith will officiate. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery, Ashland.

FARR

Helen C. Farr, 63, Kansas City, died Feb. 22, 2003, at the Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.

She was born Nov. 27, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of Walter J. and Julia Christine Zimmerman Seelmeyer. She married Jimmy Don Farr, who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and seamstress.

Survivors include: a daughter, Tammy Duke, Baltimore, Md., and two grandchildren.

Her body was donated to the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
