SPOONER
Norma Jean Spooner, 48, Holts Summit, died Feb. 28, 2003, at her home.
She was born May 29, 1954, at Cape Girardeau, a daughter of the Rev. Norman F. and Margaret C. Gates Brewer. She was married Sept. 29, 1987, at Las Vegas, Nev., to Bill E. Spooner, who survives at the home.
She was a lifelong Jefferson City area resident, and attended Jefferson City High School. She was a member of the American Board of Opticians. She attended Russellville Assembly of God Church.
Other survivors include: one son, Gabriel King, Holts Summit; one daughter, Candace King, Holts Summit; two step-daughters, Karen Spooner and Jackie Spooner, both of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Wayne Brewer, Independence; two sisters, Shirley Fenton and Mary Steele, both of Holts Summit; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in the Freeman Chapel, with the Rev. James C. Steele officiating.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
THOMAS
Elton Bernell Thomas, 49, Jefferson City, died Feb. 27, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born June 26, 1953, in East St. Louis, Ill., a son of A.B. and Mary Jane Smith. He was married Dec. 6, 2002, in Jefferson City, to Susanne Dudrey Rhodes, who survives at the home.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He had worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation and at the Salvation Army Thrift Store.
Other survivors include: four children; three brothers, Cedric Thomas, state of California, Selson Thomas, and Thomas Mosley, both of East St. Louis, Ill. ; four sisters: Theresa Franklin, Pontoon Beach, Ill., Avis Thomas, Murfreesboro, Tenn., Sharon Thorton, Washington Park, Ill., and LaTrisha Ann Thomas, East St. Louis, Ill.; and several grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, with the Rev. Ted Huston officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Central Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Jefferson City.
WIEBERG
Glen Wieberg, 50, Argyle, died Feb. 27, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Aug. 4, 1952, in Argyle, a son of Tobias and Dolores Stegeman Wieberg. He was married Sept. 30, 1978, in Argyle, to Donna Schwaartze, who survives at the home.
He was plant supervisor for Play-Mor Trailers, Westphalia, for 34 years. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle. He was a member of the Argyle Volunteer Fire Department, the Argyle town board, Argyle Knights of Columbus Council 2047, and treasurer of the Argyle Senior Housing board.
Other survivors include: two sons, Christopher Wieberg, Argyle and Ryan "Pico" Wieberg, Houston, Texas ; four brothers, James Wieberg, Jefferson City, Gary Wieberg, Freeburg, Richard "Dick" Wieberg and Michael Wieberg, both of Argyle; two sisters, Pat Steinman, Argyle, and Lisa Sandbothe, Folk.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. The Rev. John Schmitz and the Rev. Mike Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Masses or to the Argyle Volunteer Fire Department.
FIELDS
Patricia A. Fields, 62, Sunrise Beach, died March 1, 2003, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.
She was born May 18, 1940, in Polk County, Tenn., a daughter of John W. and Ruth Shelton Bates. She was married March 18, 1961, to Harold E. Fields, who survives at the home.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Sunrise Beach.
Other survivors include: three sons, John W. Fields, Sunrise Beach, Robert Fields, Springfield, and Jesse Fields, Dallas, Texas ; two daughters, Shelia Giles and Sonja Giles, both of Cleveland, Tenn.; one brother, William T. Bates, Cleveland, Tenn.; one sister, Nelleda Bates, Benton, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie. Ray Powell will officiate. Burial will be in Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery, Laurie.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
HONSE
Gregory Steven "Clyde" Honse, 40, Vienna, died March 2, 2003, at Capital Regional Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 24, 1963, in Jefferson City, a son of Donald and Mildred Zimmer Honse, who survive in Vienna.
He worked for Quaker Window Products Company in Freeburg for 11 years. He was a member of Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna.
Other survivors include: one brother, Douglas Honse, Vienna; three sisters, Sandra Schoene, Vienna, Debbie Clark, Kansas City, and Nancy Rowden, Rolla; paternal grandmother, Mabel Honse, Vienna; and maternal grandmother, Alvina Zimmer, Westphalia.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Visitation Catholic Church. The Rev. John Schmitz will officiate. Burial will be in Vienna Public Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
MANES
Margie E. Manes, 69, Jefferson City, died March 2, 2003, at Beverly Health Care Center.
She was born March 27, 1933, in St. Clair, a daughter of Roy and Lula Noakes Bay.
She graduated from St. Clair High School. She was a resident of the Jefferson City area since 1963. She worked in the housekeeping department at several nursing homes and retired from the Capitol Plaza Hotel. She was a volunteer with Nutrition Center at Hamilton Senior Center.
Survivors include: two sons, Dallas L. Manes, Jefferson City, and Jimmie L. Manes, Joplin; four daughters, Donna M. Jacobs, Lohman, Janet M. Ornt, Kirksville, Juni-Malia Backes, Lee's Summit, and Lori-Ann Pratte, Jefferson City; six brothers, Henry Bay, St. Louis, George Bay, Gene Bay and Elmer Bay, all of St. Clair, Vernie Bay, Kansas City, and Eddie Bay, Moselle; four sisters, Edith Wolnik, Grant City, Rosie Kochs, Fenton, Dee McHenry, Independence, and Fern Vanderhorst, Sedalia; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
One son, Harvey R. Manes, died Sept. 25, 2000. One grandson also preceded her in death.
Private graveside services and entombment will be in the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Community Hospices of America or the Service Dogs Today, Inc.
SCHANZMEYER
Henry John Schanzmeyer, 89, Westphalia, died March 1, 2003, at Oakview Skilled Care.
He was born July 29, 1913, in Westphalia, a son of Frank and Christine Fechtel Schanzmeyer. He was married July 25, 1963, in Danielson, Conn., to Jeanne D. Turcotte, who survives at the home.
He was a farmer in the Westphalia area all of his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

TIPTON
Rosetta M. Tipton, 74, Stover, died March 1, 2003, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born Dec. 29, 1928, in Hornersville, a daughter of Leonard and Bertha Airsman Hamrick. She was married Sept. 12, 1944, in Blythville, Ark., to Jerry F. Tipton, who died April 12, 1998.
She lived in Clovis, N.M., until she moved to Stover in 1984. She was an licensed practical nurse at Golden Age Living Center, Stover.
Survivors include: three sons, Jimmie F. Tipton and Barney Charles Tipton, both of Versailles, and Tony Tipton, state of Texas ; one stepson, Jerry Wayne Tipton, Clovis, N.M.; one daughter, Koenia Seibers, Columbus, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Melba Moore, Norman, Okla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
