WILLIS

John Franklin Willis Jr., 54, Warsaw, died March 20, 2003, at his home.

He was born Sept. 15, 1948, near Barnett, a son of John F. Sr. and Roxie Hayes Willis.

He attended school in Versailles. He was a self-employed tree trimmer. He attended New Life Assembly of God Church, Barnett.

Survivors include: two sons, John F. Willis III and Shane Willis, both of Warsaw; one daughter, Eveleen Jean Stevens,  Jefferson City; four brothers, Wayne Willis and Wesley Willis, both of Barnett, Jim Willis, Cameron, and Bob Willis, Maryland Heights; four sisters, the Rev. Maxine Dick, Versailles, Violet Simmons, Hughesville, Celia Jordan, Long Beach, Calif., and Beth Jenkins, Russellville; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at New Life Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Ron Hess will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Versailles.

BROKER

Vincent P. Broker, 80, Linn, died March 21, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 8, 1922, in Frankenstein, a son of Mike and Anna Bengal Broker. He was married Oct. 5, 1985, in Linn, to Irene Mantle Broker, who survives at the home. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Albright Broker and his second wife, Oneida Jones Broker.

He was a supervisor with Interstate Bakery, Kansas City and worked for the State Highway Department.

He was a member of St. George Church, Linn; Knights of Columbus 4838; Catholic Knights of America; Linn V.F.W. Post 4756 and American Legion Post 5,  Jefferson City.

He was an army veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Brenda "Gerry" Handy, Eugene, and June Hoffman, Linn; one brother, Michael Broker, Lohman; one sister, Mary Ann Kremer, Frankenstein; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. George Church, Linn. The Rev. Daniel I.J. Lueckenotte will officiate. Burial will be in the Garden of Gethsemane, Frankenstein.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Morton Funeral Home in Linn.

Memorials are suggested to Linn Senior Center or the charity of the donor's choice.

COOLEY

Florence M. Cooley, 79, Linn Creek, died March 21, 2003, at the Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.

She was born Jan. 19, 1924, in Arcola, Ill., a daughter of Russell and Wilhelmina Tessman Mullins. She was married in June 1947 to George Cooley, who died December 2000.

She owned and operated Florence Apparel.

She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Camdenton.

Survivors include: two daughters, Claudette Hawkey, Linn Creek, and Karen Taylor, College Station, Texas ; five brothers, Rex Mullins and Richard Mullins, both of Mattoon, Ill., Dale Mullins and Norman Mullins, both of Charleston, Ill., and Jim Mullins, Russell, Kan.; two sisters, Betty Centers and Linda Hampton, both of Charleston, Ill.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Caudill-King Funeral Home, Charleston. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Charleston.

Visitation will be from 1:30-2 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Lake Regional Cancer Fund, care of Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach or Our Savior Lutheran Church in Camdenton.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

FRENCH

Milford French, 79, Vienna, died March 22, 2003, in Maries Manor Care Center in Vienna.

He was born Sept. 7, 1923, in Summerfield, a son of William and Elizabeth McKinney French. He was married April 20, 1990, in Bentonville, Ark., to Darlene Tackett McKinney, who survives at the home.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vienna; Vienna Masonic Lodge #94 A.F. & A.M.; Argyle V.F.W. Post #8045; and the  Jefferson City Chapter of the D.A.V. He was in the United States Army and later retired from the United States Air Force on Dec. 1, 1965, with a total of 21 years of service. He was employed by Civil Service at Fort Leonard Wood prior to being elected sheriff of Maries County and serving in that position for eight years. He was a licensed airplane pilot and enjoyed flying his two private airplanes.

Other survivors include: two step-sons, Dennis McKinney, Cypress, Texas , and Darin McKinney, Westphalia; four step-daughters, Denise Evans, Vienna, Dawn Snodgrass, Vienna, Dee Kudrna,  Jefferson City, and Darla Schwartze, Argyle; and 16 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one infant step-son, William Douglas McKinney.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Cameron Moles will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Public Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes and from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church.

GREENWELL

Ida Susanna Greenwell, 90,  Jefferson City, died March 20, 2003, at Capital Health Care Center.

She was born May 25, 1912, in Dahlgren, Ill., a daughter of Henry J. and Emma Fries Klohr. She was married Oct. 5, 1941, in Steelville, to Robert R. Greenwell, who died Jan. 14, 1998.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church,  Jefferson City.

Survivors include: one son, John H. Greenwell, Wheaton; one daughter, Judith E. Woodson,  Jefferson City; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery, Chesterfield.

Arrangements are under the direction of Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

MITTELHAUSER

Juanita Dale Mittelhauser, 81, Belle, died March 21, 2003, from injuries sustained in a car accident.

She was born Jan. 2, 1922, near Summerfield, a daughter of Balser and Clara Goodman Groff. She was married Oct. 12, 1940, to Roy K. Mittelhauser, who died in 1993.

She was a member of Pilot Knob Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Maxine Thomas, Belle; two brothers, Bayard Groff, Union, and Winfred "Dutch" Groff, Columbia; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

One son, Dewey Mittelhauser, died in 1996.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pilot Knob Baptist Church. Bro. Glenn Snyder will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today at Sassman Chapel, Belle.

BRANNAN

Irene Effie Brannan, 81,  Jefferson City, died March 24, 2003, at her home.

She was born Feb. 16, 1922, in Greeley, Colo., a daughter of Emmet J. and Evelyn Gladys Smith Brooks. She was married in Raton, N.M., to Joseph H. Brannan, who died Oct. 26, 1963.

She was a 1940 graduate of Briggsdale, Colorado, High School. She received a bachelor's degree in education in 1963 from Lincoln University. She taught at Fatima elementary and high school in Westphalia for many years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi in Kansas City and the American Legion in Freeburg and  Jefferson City. She was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include: three daughters, Helen E. Watson, Columbia, Gayrene R. Stegall and Rebecca F. Carpenter, both of  Jefferson City; one brother, Merton F. Brooks,  Jefferson City; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

One grandson preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors,  Jefferson City, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the family's choice.

SUDDUTH

Dorthea Sudduth, 84, Omaha, Neb., mother of the Rev. Cornell C. Sudduth Sr.,  Jefferson City, died March 19, 2003, in Omaha.

Arrangements are under the direction of Myers Funeral Home, Omaha, Neb.
