HOFFMAN
Leona Annette Fredricka (Sundermeyer) Hoffman, 90, of Holts Summit, died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center. She was born October 28, 1912, in Chamois, Missouri, a daughter of Frederick and Bertha Pahmeier Sundermeyer. She was married June 20, 1936, in Chamois, Missouri, to Herman Edward Hoffman, who preceded her in death on November 19, 1984. She graduated from high school in 1929 in Chamois, Missouri, taking a teacher training class her senior year. She then began teaching at age sixteen in one room schools of Osage County. She attended college at Central Missouri State Teacher's College and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Lincoln University in 1961. She taught at Holts Summit School and North Elementary from 1954 until 1975. She retired from teaching in 1975 having taught for thirty-four years. She continued to substitute teach for another ten years. She was a member of Central United Church of Christ for over fifty years. She was also a member of the Holts Summit Civic Association; Holts Summit P.T.A.; Missouri State Teachers Association; Cole County Teachers Association; Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Retired Teachers of Jefferson City. She was a cub scout den mother. She was a member of the New Bloomfield Chapter No. 138 Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a past Worthy Matron three times and a District Deputy Grand Matron. She is survived by one son: Larry D. Hoffman of Jefferson City; one daughter: Mrs. Bonnie Knipmeyer of Lee's Summit, Missouri; three grandchildren: Stephanie Landini of Sanford, Florida; Kurt Knipmeyer of Santa Barbara, California and Kristin Knipmeyer of Lee's Summit, Missouri; two brothers: Edgar Sundermeyer of Washington , D.C. and Robert Sundermeyer of Chamois, Missouri, and a special friend and former student: James Dyke of Jefferson City. Friends will be received from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel, with an Order of the Eastern Star Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2003, at Central United Church of Christ with Dr. Stephen H. Buchholz officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Central United Church of Christ or the Order of the Eastern Star New Bloomfield Chapter No. 138. PLASSMEYER
Makayla Katherine Plassmeyer, infant daughter of Matthew and Kathy Reinkemeyer Plassmeyer of Argyle, was stillborn Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at St. Mary's Health Center.
Other survivors include paternal grandparents Ron and Phyllis Plassmeyer of Westphalia; maternal grandparents Jerome and Margaret Reinkemeyer of Argyle; and maternal great grandparents Ray and Carmen Grafe of Westphalia.
Private family services and interment will be held Friday, May 2, 2003 at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church Cemetery in Argyle with Fr. Michael Murphy officiating.

FELBER
Mr. Herbert E. Felber, age 66 years, of Holts Summit, MO, died Friday, May 2, 2003 at his home. Funeral arrangements for Mr. Felber under the direction of Freeman Mortuary will be announced at a later time.
MALAN
Bernis A. Malan, 80, Linn, died May 1, 2003 at his residence. He was born March 12, 1922, in Linn, a son of the late Lee and Myrtle Monroe Malan. He was married Nov. 8, 1955, in Mississippi to Elsie Lange Malan, who died May 31, 2002. He was a self employed contractor and later owned and operated Malan Small Engine Repair. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Survivors include one brother: Robert J. Malan of Austin, TX; three sisters: Ruth Clingerman of Albany, NY; Reta Loehr of Jacksonville, FL; and Pat Baldwin of Black Mountain, NC. He was preceded in death by one sister: Norma Lee Helmig. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn. The Rev. Tony Townley will officiate. Burial will be in Linn Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to Charity of Donor's Choice.
McCONNELL
Michael Howard McConnell, age 49, of Versailles, passed away Wednesday evening, April 30, 2003 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. He was born December 28, 1953 in Ford Leonard Wood, Missouri, the son of Elmo H. and Iris D. Duitsman McConnell. Michael was an architect and draftsman and a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his father, Elmo H. McConnell of Versailles; and four sisters, Shirley Mason, Kathleen Pion, Sheri Price, and Connie Eaton; many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2003 at the Versailles Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
TILLMAN
Mrs. Joan M. Tillman, 82, died April 26, 2003, in Jefferson City. She was born May 13, 1920 in Meta, a daughter of John George and Mathilda Mary Steinman Risse. She was married on June 27, 1942, to Joseph Alphonse Tillman who died November 13, 1955. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Maries Valley American Legion Post No. 317, both of Freeburg. Survivors include: son, Jerry Tillman, Kansas City; daughters, Dorothy Maasen, Columbia, and Carol Kelsick, Jefferson City; 4 brothers, 1 sister, 8 grandchildren & and 1 great-grandchild. Private funeral services and burial were held April 29, 2003 in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with burial in the Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg.
AMBROSE
Maria Ambrose, 56, of Omaha, NE, died Sunday, May 4, 2003 at her residence. Arrangements are with Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel.
OIDTMANN
Marvin Martin Oidtmann, 80, of Chamois, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at his home. He was born September 15, 1922, in Bonnots Mill, Missouri, a son of Henry W. and Anna Vogler Oidtmann. He was married August 15, 1943, in Chamois, to Alvena Bernice Heitkemper, who preceded him in death on November 10, 1997. He worked as a carpenter for Propst Builders, Schell Builders and Rappstein Construction. He also managed the M.F.A. Hardware Store in Chamois and was also a self employed carpenter. He was a member of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Chamois and the Carpenters Union Local #945 in Jefferson City. He is survived by three daughters: Shirley Schollmeyer of Centertown; Brenda Schollmeyer of Jefferson City and Nancy Kilbreth of Camdenton; one son: Wayne Oidtmann of Chamois; one brother: Sylvester Oidtmann of Chamois; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Meyer-Hilke-Millard Funeral Home Chamois Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. Patrick Dowling officiating. Interment will follow in the Most Pure Heart of Mary Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association. SMOCK
Kenneth Allen Smock, age 77, of Versailles, MO passed away Friday evening, May 2, 2003 at Roy E. Otten Memorial Airport in Versailles. He was born May 15, 1925 in Greencastle, Indiana, the son of Frank Moore and Nora Smock. Mr. Smock was a foreman for the railroad. He was U.S. Army veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:OO p.m. Tuesday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Jeanie Leeper officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles.
WOODS
Dorothy Ann Woods, 70, of St. Martins, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at her residence. She was born on August 25, 1932 in Cole County, the daughter of Milburn and Helen Dulle Schenewerk. She was married on April 5, 1952 in St. Martins to William Perry Woods who survives at the home. A 1950 graduate of St. Peter High School, she was employed at the former Missouri Association of Retarded Children; Missouri Division of Employment Security; and retired as Executive Secretary with the Missouri Farm Bureau in 1985. Mrs. Woods was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church; St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary; and an active volunteer with St. Martin Summer Bible School program. Other survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Victoria & Larry Riggs, Versailles, MO; and Joyce and Alan Staehle, California, MO; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Helen Kaye Meller, Lohman, MO; Rita Rustemeyer, Centertown, MO; Arlene Veit, Palmyra, MO; and Mary Lou Stegeman, Jefferson City, MO. Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her son, Michael Allen Woods; a brother, Charles Vernon Schenewerk; and two sisters, Laverne Schulte and Loretta Jean Schmutzler. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Due to activities at the church, the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Edwin C. Schmidt as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Martins Cemetery. Memorial are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Church, 7148 St. Martins Avenue, Jefferson City, MO 65109.
