MARTIN
Leroy M. Martin, 26, of Versailles, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at his home.
He was born March 1, 1977 in Denver, PA, son of Irvin and Lucy Martin, who survive near Barnett.
He is also survived by his wife: Christina Martin of the home; son and daughter: Kenneth and Shianne Martin of the home; four brothers: Lamar, Irvin Jr., Nevin and Allen; four sisters: Linda, Dorothy, Lucy Elaine and Norma Jean Martin; and grandparents: Allen and Katie Martin.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sun., May 18, 2003, at the home of the family near Versailles.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Mon., May 19, 2003 at Excelsior Mennonite Church near Versailles. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
MUSTAIN
Lloyd Bradford Mustain, 73, Camdenton, MO, died May 13, 2003 in Lake Regional Health Systems, Osage Beach, MO.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Mustain, of the home; 6 sons: Lloyd Mustain III, Ronald Mustain, both of Camdenton, MO, John Mustain of Peculiar, MO, Martin Mustain of Lee's Summit, MO; Phillip Mustain of Grandview, MO; & Kenneth Mustain of Greenview, MO; 3 daughters: Oliva Kennedy of Lebanon, MO, Tracy Kubicki of Gladstone, MO, Anna Mustain of Camdenton, MO.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2003 in the St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Bonds Chapel Cemetery, near Hartsburg, MO.
MYERS
Eileen P. Myers, age 77, of Camdenton, MO, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003 in Lake Regional, Osage Beach, MO.
She is survived by two sons: Richard Lair and wife Pat, of Camdenton, MO and Mike Myers and wife Lisa, of Naples, FL; one daughter: Nancy Chapman and husband John, of Osage Beach, MO; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Allee-Holman Funeral Home, Camdenton, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2003, at the funeral home with burial in the Dale Blair Cemetery, Camdenton.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Dogwood Animal Shelter.
POINTER
Taylor Pointer, 14, Linn, died May 13, 2003, in Osage County as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born March 11, 1989 in Jefferson City, son of Timothy and Carolyn Nilges Pointer of Linn.
Taylor was an 8th grade student at Linn R2 Middle School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skateboarding and motorcross.
Survivors include 2 brothers, Dustin Maasen and Matthew Pointer of the home; 1 sister, Christa Maasen of the home; paternal grandmother, Mary "Cookie" Pointer of Linn; maternal grandparents, Henry and Mary Nilges of Loose Creek. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Norman Pointer.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at St. George Church, Linn, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. George Church, Linn. The Rev. Greg Meystrik will officiate. Burial will be in St. George Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Morton Funeral Home, Linn, MO.
Memorials are suggested to charity of donor's choice.
CLAYTON
Phyllis Laura (Robinson) Clayton, 87, of Hamilton, OH, died May 14, 2003 in Hamilton, OH.
She was born on February 27, 1916 in Linn Creek, MO, the daughter of Bert and Lena (Davis) Robinson. She was married on February 23, 1936 to Marion F. Clayton, who preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 2001.
She was a graduate of the first class of School of the Osage, charter member of the Lake Ozark Christian Church, owned and operated Clayton's Cafe with her husband on the Bagnell Dam Strip for twenty-seven years. She was also a member of D.A.R.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Ruth Phillips of Indian Springs, Ohio and Mary "Cookie" Thelen of Hancock, Maine; five grandchildren: Laura Dollieslager, Robert Clayton Phillips, Mary Melissa Frazier, Jamie Ringsmuth, and Kristi Griffin; nine great-grandchildren: Alicia Dollieslager, Timothy Phillips, Emily Dollieslager, Carrie Phillips, Sarah Phillips, Jackson Frazier, John Clayton Ringsmuth, Grace Catherine Ringsmuth, and Katherine Lauren Griffin. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters: Dorothy Haage, Frieda Fry, Theora Pilkington; and by two brothers: George Robinson and Clyde Robinson.
Visitation will be held at the Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon, MO on Sunday, May 18, 2003 from 4-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 19, 2003 at the Lake Ozark Christian Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James Pohl officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett, MO.
Memorials are suggested to the Lake Ozark Christian Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
CONLIN
John Andrew Conlin, age 52, of Gravois Mills, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kansas.
He was born August 18, 1950 in Sandusky, Ohio, the son of Andrew J. and Betty O. Mueller Colin. John was united in marriage on April 22, 1990 to Dianne Gordon in Eads, Colorado.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie. Military Honors & Interment under the auspices of the American Legion Zack Wheat Post #624 of Sunrise Beach will be in Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery in Laurie.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie.
GIBSON
Jo Ann Gibson, 73, of Gravois Mills, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born February 5, 1930 in Kansas City, MO. She formerly owned Gibsons Point Resort near Gravois Mills.
She is survived by two sons: Mike and John Gibson of Gravois Mills; one daughter: Suzy Strauss of Morena, CA and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sat., May 17th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles, MO.
Services will be at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie, MO.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City.
GORDON
Robert J. "Bobby" "One Wing" Gordon, age 50, of Holts Summit, died Thursday, May 15, 2003 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born Nov. 5, 1952, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of the late William and Theresa (Tillman) Gordon.
He was employed by Capital City Construction. His hobbies were model building, garage sales, working on his '67 Cuda, and he collected swords.
He is survived by one son: Michael Gordon of Jefferson City; one daughter: Michele Serocki of Springfield, MO; one granddaughter: Shelby Gordon; one grandson: Nicholas Serocki; one sister: Anna Berhorst of Freeburg; and two brothers: Terry Andert of Jefferson City and Jimmy Gordon of Russellville.
Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at the Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 17, at the Debo Funeral Home with the Rev. Brad Schmidt officiating.
HARRISON
Mrs. Florene Harrison, 84, of Crocker, died May 14, 2003, in Springfield, MO.
She was born September 18, 1918, in Crocker, MO. She was married July 7, 1938, at Waynesville, to Burnis Harrison, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by 2 sons: Roger and Steve Harrison; 3 daughters: June Hensley, Brenda Finch and Mary Harrison.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m., Fri., May 16, and 10 - 11 a.m., Sat., May 17, in the Long Funeral Home, Crocker.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Sat., May 17, 2003, in the Long Funeral Home, Crocker, with Rev. Lee Todd officiating. Interment will follow in the Madden Cemetery, Crocker, MO.
Memorials are suggested to the Madden Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
MILLER
Virginia Dale Miller, 77, Jamestown, MO, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.
She was born September 23, 1925 at her family home, north of the Salem Evangelical Church near McGirk in Moniteau County, Missouri. She was the daughter of Daniel Harrison and Nettie Augusta Kirchhoff Cliburn, who preceded her in death. She was married October 7, 1948 in California, MO to William 'Bill' Floyd Miller who preceded her in death, March 4,1996.
She resided on a farm on the Moniteau River, northeast of Kliever, where she was a homemaker and after the death of her husband, managed the family farm. During World War II, she worked in the Pentagon in Washington , DC until the death of her brother, David, when she returned home to be with her mother. She graduated from Aurora High School in California in 1944. Virginia joined the California Evangelical Church as a young lady and later attended the Shiloh Christian Church with her husband.
Survivors include: one son, William Dale Miller with his wife, Jackie of Omaha, NE; two sisters, Lorene Angerer of Jefferson City, MO and Goldie Porter of California, MO; two grandchildren, Kelli Renee Tierney and William Ryan Miller, both of Omaha, NE. She was also preceded in death by one son, Robert N. Miller, May 5, 1993 and four brothers, Truman, Floyd, Edward and David Cliburn and two sisters, Opal Cliburn and Myrtle Connell.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2003 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO. The Rev. Dr. Don Burkhalter will officiate and burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, north of California.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2003 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO.
Memorials may be made to the Shiloh Cemetery Fund or the Shiloh Christian Church.
