REAFSNYDER

Joann R. Reafsnyder, 60, of Knoxville, died Wednesday, May 13, 2003.

Joann was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church Knoxville, former member of the Crestview Presbyterian Church in West Chester, Ohio, and a loving and giving wife, mother, and friend. She was the Adult Christian Educator for the church. She had served as a session member, teacher, and was active in womens groups, The Flower Guild and special events.

Joann was preceded in death by her father, Joseph B. Garcia and her mother, Nora Raithel Garcia of St. Louis, Missouri. She is survived by her husband: James A. Reafsnyder; two sons: Joseph and James; and one daughter: Cynthia J. Reafsnyder.

Friends will be received from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sat., May 17, 2003 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Knoxville, TN.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sun., May 18, 2003, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Dr. Friedrich Schilling, Jr. officiating. A private family interment will follow at Lake View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 6500 Northshore Dr., Knoxville, TN, 37919. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.

SHEWMAKER

Doyle L. Shewmaker, 43, of Stover, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.

He was born January 28, 1960 in Oregon, the son of Kenneth Wray and Joan Smith Shewmaker.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Shewmaker of the home; three sons, Ryan Gingerich, and Jason and Kendall Shewmaker; his mother and stepfather, Joan and Scott Burnett; one brother, Kenny Shewmaker; and four sisters, Tammi Kerksiek, Marsha McDaniel, Brenda Perkins and Lisa Luebbert.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Stover Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 5-7 Friday at the funeral home.

DRAKE

Patricia Reed Drake, 71, of  Jefferson City, died Friday, May 16, 2003, at the Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born August 25, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of Alan Edward and Alice Ethelyn Lewis Reed. She was married May 26, 1951, in Harrison, Arkansas to Francis Owen Drake, Jr., who preceded her in death on October 23, 2001.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, where she had served as a deacon and secretary of the church board. She was a member of Chapter JB of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. In 1966 she was chosen as the Outstanding Young Woman of  Jefferson City by the Jaycee Jills. She was active in Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, P.T.A.,  Jefferson City Day Care Center and the Meals-On-Wheels program.

She had served as a docent for the Governor's Mansion and the Cole County Historical Society. She was a member of the Capital Region Medical Center Auxiliary and was a volunteer in the Gift Shop.

She is survived by two sons: Timothy Reed Drake of Overland Park, Kansas; Joseph Francis Drake of Broken Arrow,  Oklahoma; one daughter: Mary Gabrielle Fallert of  Jefferson City; two grandsons: Patrick Francis and Ian Joseph Drake of Broken Arrow,  Oklahoma; one granddaughter: Kaitlin Jeanne Drake of Overland Park, Kansas and one brother: Robert Reed of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Friends will be received from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at the First Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Lawrence Veatch officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the First Christian Church, 327 Capital Avenue,  Jefferson City, Missouri 65101. Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel, 2613 West Main St., 636-3838.

HIRSCHVOGEL

Nadine Hirschvogel, 82, Russellville, died May 17, 2003, at the Villa-Marie Nursing Home.

Arrangements are with Weber and Sons Funeral Home, Russellville.

KEETH

Paul J. Keeth, 85, of Crocker, died Friday, May 16, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born in Hawkeye on March 6, 1918, a son of Pearley and Nancy (Shelton) Keeth. On July 3, 1946, in Salem, Arkansas, he was married to Ina Irene Moore, who survives at the home.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, at the funeral home. Rev. Jeff Higbie will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Madden Cemetery near Iberia.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Madden Cemetery.

KNEISLY

Charles C. "Charley" Kneisly, 97, Harrisonville, MO and formerly of High Point, MO died Thursday, May 15, 2003 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville, MO.

He was born Sept. 15, 1905 in Miller County, MO the son of George "Blue" and Clemency Elizabeth Roark Kneisly, who preceded him in death.

He was born in Miller County, but spent most of his life in South Moniteau County until 1982, and then he would spend winters with his brother in the state of California until 1997. He was a lifelong farmer, a fur and wool trader and a barber in California, High Point, Excelsior, Russellville and other neighboring towns.

He attended Prairie Hill School also known as Possum Trot and the "School of Hard Knocks" and attended Barber College in Kansas City, MO. He joined the Modern Woodman Lodge at High Point at a young age and was a member of the Lions Club of High Point and High Point Baptist Church.

Survivors include 2 brothers, Herbert Kneisly of Seal Beach, CA and Edwin Kneisly of Long Beach, CA and 6 nieces, Ruby M. Markway, Mary Maxine Teegan, Patricia Ann Higgins, Betty Jo Stice, Marie Hahn and Ruth Hill and 5 nephews, Dewey Yarnell, Jr., Jerry Dean Yarnell, Ronald Gene Porter, Calvin G. Porter and Bob Kneisly. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Stanley and Roy Kneisly and 4 sisters, Virgie Mae Kneisly, Myrtle L. Yarnell, Ruby Jane Porter and an infant sister, Grace.

Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, May 19, 2003 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. Rev. Calvin Wylde and Rev. Ray McDonald will officiate and burial will be in the Olean Cemetery, Olean.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 A.M., Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 8540 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64138. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO.

LUIKART

Mrs. Kathy D. Luikart, age 56 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, May 15, 2003 at the Capital Region Medical Center.

Mrs. Luikart was born November 10, 1946 at St. Louis, Mo. the daughter of William T. and Grace L. Ferguson Reeves, both deceased. She was married on September 9, 1967 at Jennings, Mo. to Terry J. Luikart who survives at the home.

Mrs. Luikart graduated from Jenning High School, Jennings, Mo. and was a 1967 graduate of Deaconess School of Nursing, St. Louis, Mo. as a registered nurse.

A resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1978, Mrs. Luikart was employed as a registered nurse with Memorial Community Hospital and later with the Capital Region Medical Center until ill health forced her retirement in July, 2002.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Missouri Assn. of Registered Nurses.

Other survivors include: one son: Bradley J. Luikart of  Jefferson City, Mo.; one daughter: Jennifer Alane Isaacs of  Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters: Anna Mae Carlson of Decatur, Illinois and Lois Jean Conroy of St. Louis, Mo.; one grandson: Joshua James Isaacs.

Kathy's smile, sense of humor, and loving ways will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, May 23, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jerrol Boehmer officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service in the parlor of the First United Methodist Church.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Capital Region Medical Center Foundation for Cardiac Rehabilitation, P.O. Box 1128,  Jefferson City, Mo. 65102.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

FINCHER

Donald R. Fincher, age 65 years, of Linn, MO, died Sunday, May 18, 2003 at St. Mary's Health Center,  Jefferson City, MO.

He was born March 23, 1938, the son of Charles W. and Janet C. (Voss) Fincher. His father preceded him in death, and his mother, Janet C. Fincher survives in Linn, MO. He was married may, 14, 1960 to Shirley Duncan, Who survives at the home. He was a lifelong area resident, and attended St. George School, and Linn R-2 High School.

He was a member and served on the executive board of the Laborer's Local 662 for 38 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the St. George Church, Linn, MO. Don was an avid hunter and fisherman. Other survivors include: 3 sons: Duane Fincher and Shawn Fincher, both of the home, and Kevin Fincher of Rich Fountain, MO; 2 sisters: Laura Mae Wolfe of Linn, MO and Linda Kay Inglish of  Jefferson City, MO; and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 son: Scott Fincher. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Morton Funeral Home, Linn, MO with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Funeral Mass will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at the St. George Church, Linn, MO with the Rev. Sylvester Bauer officiating. Interment will be in the Linn Memorial Park Cemetery, Linn, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of the donors choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Morton Funeral Home, Linn, MO.

FUEHLEN

John J. Fuehlen, 89, of Holts Summit (Lake Mykee), Mo, formerly of Warson Woods, died Saturday, May 17, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born on September 18, 1913 in St. Louis, the son of Hermann and Johanna Sliney Fuehlen and brother of Margaret and Virginia Fuehlen. He was married on October 16, 1938 in Richmond Heights, MO to Marie Schwerdtmann. They made their home in St. Louis County and Lake Mykee before her death in August of 1990.

He was married in October of 1992 in  Jefferson City to Marjorie Mills who survives at the home at Lake Mykee. He was a 1932 graduate of St. Louis University High School and attended St. Viators College in Bourbonnais, IL. Mr. Fuehlin was employed with Porter Paint, Cook Paint, and O'Brien Paint Corporation, and later owned and operated Paints, Inc. in Webster Groves, MO and Affton Paints in Affton, MO from 1950 until his retirement in 1967. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving as radar operator on an LSM-174 in the Pacific Theater in Okinawa and Tinsien, China. He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral; Cherry Hills Country Club; and served as president of Meadow Lake Country Club in 1976.

Mr. Fuehlen is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Sue and Daniel J. Reed,  Jefferson City; and Sallie and Gary Dugan, Jacksonville, TX; six grandchildren, Debbie Gray, Kelly Smulczewski, Jeff Dugan, Greg Reed, Ken Dugan, and Brendan Reed; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in  Jefferson City. Memorial are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Institute at University Hospital, D.C. 205.00, Columbia, MO 65212. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

GAMET

David Mark Gamet, age 58, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Fulton, died Saturday, May 17, 2003 at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

He was born June 26, 1944, in Trenton, MO, the son of the late Bruce E. and Mary Helen (Porter) Gamet, Sr. He is survived by 2 sons, Rafe Gamet,  Jefferson City & Jason Gamet, Mokane; & 1 brother, Mike Gamet of Mexico, MO.

He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1968. Funeral services will be held Wed., May 21 at 1 p.m. at Debo Funeral Chapel in Fulton with Rev. Larry Paris officiating.

Burial will follow in New Bloomfield Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wed., May 21, from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
