IRWIN

Ertie M. Irwin, 94, died May 25, 2003, at Delmar Gardens West, St. Louis, Mo.

She was born January 5, 1909 in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Noah and Arizona Hodges Rooks. She was married February 2, 1932, in  Jefferson City, to Waverly Granville Irwin, who preceded her in death in 1983.

She was a graduate of the Manchester High School in Kansas City, Mo. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Adult Women's Sunday School Class, the Cole County Republican Party, and the Victoria Chapter #14, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and also had been employed in the accounting department of Memorial Community Hospital for a number of years.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ruth Morrison of Manchester, Mo. and one son, James H. Irwin of Carmel, Indiana, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. One son preceded her in death, Thomas W. Irwin, who died Nov. 20, 1994.

Visitation will be at the Buescher Memorial Home Saturday after 1:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the Buescher Memorial Home, Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Thomas W. Nelson, officiating.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Buescher Memorial Home.

LUECKENOTTE

Anna Catherine Lueckenotte, 91, of Osage Bend, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at the St. Elizabeth Care Center in St. Elizabeth, Missouri.

She was born March 9, 1912, in Osage Bend, Missouri, a daughter of John and Regina Grafe Sommer. She was married April 23, 1935, in Osage Bend, Missouri, to Louis W. Lueckenotte who preceded her in death on April 29, 1983.

She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend, where she was also a member of the Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed quilting with the Alter Society.

She is survived by six sons: Alfred J. Lueckenotte of  Jefferson City; Leonard H. Lueckenotte and Jerry H. Lueckenotte both of St. Martins; Raymond J. Lueckenotte of  Jefferson City; Marvin L. Lueckenotte and Michael H. Lueckenotte both of Wardsville; one daughter: Doris R. Bax of St. Elizabeth; one brother: Max Sommer of California; seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Lois Ann Lueckenotte in 1953.

Friends will be received from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.. Additional Visitation will be held from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at the St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend, with Fr. Daniel I. J. Lueckenotte and Fr. Louis E. Dorn officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Margaret of Antioch Parish Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church or the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel, 2613 West Main Street; 636-3838.

ARNOLD

Richard Arnold, 63, died Sunday, May 25, 2003 at his home in West Hills, California.

He was formerly from Ashland, MO. Mr. Arnold was born June 5, 1939 in Hartsburg, MO to Dorothy Sapp Arnold and Norman Arnold. He married Cheryl Ann Holland on June 12, 1993 and she survives.

He attended Southern Boone Co. Schools in Ashland and the University of Missouri at Columbia. He received a Bachelors degree in Mathematics at the University of California at Berkley. He worked for Boeing in Canoga Park, California as a Project Manager.

Survivors include 2 stepsons, Jeff Larimer and Dennis Larimer of Las Vegas, Nevada; his father, Norman Arnold of Ashland; 2 brothers, Jerry Arnold of Jacksonville, Alabama, and Gary Arnold of Ashland; 2 sisters, Ellen Garrett of Columbia and Mary Short of Ashland; 2 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents and infant brother.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1 at Robinson's Funeral Home in Ashland with the Rev. Mike Quinn officiating. Burial will be in Bond's Chapel Cemetery in Hartsburg.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 on Sunday, prior to the funeral services.

Since Mr. Arnold was a friend to the Danny Pearl family, he volunteered for the Daniel Pearl Foundation. Memorials are suggested to the Daniel Pearl Foundation, 16161 Ventura Blvd., #671, Encino, California 91436.

CARRINGTON

Ruth Ann Carrington, 44, Gravois Mills, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.

Survivors include; her parents, Ed and Marge Shaw Carrington of the home; one sister, Mary Carrington-Harris, Roeland Park, Kansas.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 1, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Versailles. Interment will be in the Versailles Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 - until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Camp Wonderland.

DAVIES

Ruby Compton Davies, 89, of Kennett Square, PA, formerly of Macon, GA, passed away Friday, May 16, 2003, at her home.

She was born in Falls Mills, VA, March 22, 1914, the daughter of Henry Bane and Sue Blanche Hale Compton. She was married to Frederick Arthur Davies on October 11, 1936, in Richmond, VA. They shared 62 years of marriage until his death in 1997.

Mr. & Mrs. Davies were residents of Macon, GA, for the last 40 years of their marriage. During that time, they were members of Vineville Presbyterian Church and involved with numerous community organizations. They enjoyed many visits in the  Jefferson City area.

Mrs. Davies is survived by three daughters and their families. Dr. Charles and Anne D. Gue of  Jefferson City; Pamela D. Jordon of Kennett Square, PA; and Dan and Harriett D. Johnson of Roswell, GA. She is survived by eleven grandchildren, including: Dr. Charles Gue of Belgrade, MT; Elizabeth G. Klepner of St. Louis, MO; Dr. Catherine G. Bouchard of Columbia, MO; Suzanne G. Eitelberg of Las Vegas, NV; and John Frederick Gue of Los Angeles, CA. Mrs. Davis is also survived by two sisters and a brother: Delilah C. Glass of Georgetown, KY; Doris Jean C. Emmott of Locust Grove, VA and Charles Compton of Hampton, VA. She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Services were held in Kennett Square, PA, May 18, 2003, and in Bluefield, VA, May 20, 2003. Arrangements were under the direction of Kuzo & Gofus Funeral Home, Ltd. In Kennett Square and Dudley Memorial Funeral Home in Bluefield, with interment in Harry Cemetery, Falls Mills, VA.

GRAFF

Lucille K. Graff, 91, of Columbia, MO died May 28, 2003 at South Hampton Place.

She was born August 19, 1911 in Jamestown, MO to Charles and Louise Bodamer Kratzer. On October 19, 1942 she married J. Frank "Pete" Graff in  Jefferson City, MO & he preceded her in death.

She was employed as a bookkeeper at the California Democrat. Mrs. Graff moved to Columbia in 1983. She was a member of Missouri United Methodist Church and United Methodist Church of California, MO, where she played the pipe organ for many years. She was also a member of Searcy Feely Women's Group of Missouri United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son: Peter W. Graff and his wife, Debbie of Columbia; three grandchildren: Brian Graff of Long Beach, California, John Graff of Phoenix, Arizona, Dan Graff of Long Beach, California; and a niece Carole Gillilan of  Jefferson City, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers: Charles Kratzer, Frank Kratzer, John Kratzer, William Kratzer, and two sisters: Marie Kettlekamp, & Lela Hofstetter.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1 from 4-6 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, June 2 at the funeral home with Pastor David Jones and John Fussner officiating. Burial to follow in the California City Cemetery, California, MO.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 33 E. Broadway, Suite 100, Columbia, MO 65203.

MCDOWELL

Henry William McDowell, 89, of  Jefferson City, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at St. Mary's Health Center.

He was born February 7, 1914, in Cole County, Missouri, a son of Herman and Amanda Roth McDowell. He attended school in Osage Bluff. He was married May 5, 1944, in  Jefferson City to Irene A. Lueckenotte, who preceded him in death on May 10, 1997.

He was a Shop Foreman at Lammert Furniture from 1945 - 1974 and with Stix, Baer & Fuller Department Store from 1974 - 1977, both are in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a veteran of the United States Army and the Civilian Conservation Corp. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by a son: Gary Lee McDowell of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother: John McDowell of West Plains, Missouri; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel.

Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2003, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel, with Dr. Jerome Brownlee officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in the Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel, 2613 West Main Street; 636-3838.

SCHWARTZ

Beverly Rose Schwartz, 59, of  Jefferson City, MO, died May 28, 2003, at her home.

She was born June 23, 1943, in  Jefferson City, MO, the daughter of James Paul and Leona B. Harfst Coppage. She was married August 8, 1980, in Hawaii, to Karl M. Schwartz.

She was a graduate of the  Jefferson City High School, the Nichols Career Center School of Licensed Practical Nursing and the Meramec Community College School of Nursing in St. Louis, MO. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She had been employed at the AAA office in St. Louis, MO, and had also been employed as a Registered Nurse at Memorial Community Hospital, and at hospitals in San Francisco, Hawaii and Columbia, MO.

She is survived by two sons: Alex Schwartz and Adam Schwartz; and one sister: Virginia Pritzel, all of  Jefferson City. One sister preceded her in death, Paula Sue McGinnis, who died April 3, 1990.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2003, ath the Buescher Memorial Home. Private interment will be held.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.

TERRY

Pauline Elizabeth Terry, 83, of Richland, MO, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, in  Jefferson City, MO.

She was born January 17, 1920, to George Wolf & Lucy Park Wolf of Richland, MO.

Before her retirement, she was employed as a bank cashier and a member of the First Baptist Church in Richland, MO.

She is survived by one son: Alan Terry and wife Joyce of  Jefferson City, MO; one sister: Ruth Saltzman of Lebanon, MO; one brother: Howard Wolf of Dixon, MO; three grandchildren and one great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation was held Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the Thieme-Shadel-Hicks Funeral Service at the Colonial Chapel of Richland, MO.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Richland, MO. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery.

ZEMP

Frank Eugene Zemp, 86, Columbia, Mo., died Friday, May 30, 2003 in South Hampton Place, Columbia, Mo.

He was born October 17, 1916 in Evanston, Wy., the son of Alfred & Mamie McQueen Zemp. Mr. Zemp was married to Mary Margaret Helstein, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

He owned/operated a tire business for many years in Fulton, Mo.

Survivors include: two daughters, Jane Dunn, Columbia, Mo.; Marilyn Zemp, Bellevue, Wa.; six grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Newman Center. Visitation will be at Parker Funeral Service on Sunday, between 5:00 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Memorials suggested to the Helias Foundation.
