BAKER

Jack D. Baker, 77, California, MO passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at his home in California, MO.

Survivors include 1 son, Benny Baker of Mannford, OK; 1 daughter, Deloris Wilson with her husband, Leon of California, MO; 1 adopted daughter, Sharon Botteron of California, MO; 2 sisters, Alta Marie Hill & Faye Ruth Graham of California, MO; 2 grandchildren; 1 adopted granddaughter; 7 nieces and 9 nephews.

Services will be held at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, Thursday evening, June 12, 2003 at 6:30 P. M. Visitation will be Thursday evening, 5:00-6:30 P. M. at the funeral home.

There will be a visitation at Floral Haven Cemetery, Tulsa, OK., Friday, June 13, 2003, 1:30-2:00 P. M. with burial following at 2:00 P. M.

Memorials are suggested to Community Hospice of America or to the Family of Jack D. Baker. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO.

CATRON

Ruby Wood Catron, 66, of Springfield, MO, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at her home.

She was born in Barnett on March 19, 1937, to Russell and Louise Wood. She was preceded in death by her father.

She was a graduate of Eldon High School in 1955. She worked for nearly 30 years at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in both Eldon and Springfield. She moved to Springfield in 1977. After retiring from the telephone company in 1988, she worked for several years at a pest control company. In 1955, she became a licensed practical nurse, earning a two year degree from Ozarks Technical College. She retired from nursing in 2000 because of poor health.

She is survived by her mother: Louise Wood, Sedalia; two sons: Darren, Springfield and Jeff and his wife Susan, Columbus, GA; two brothers: Russell O. Wood, and his wife Neva, Sedalia; and Charles David (Tom) Wood and his wife Marilyn, Vallejo, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2003 at the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home in Springfield, MO.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2003 at  Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church, Springfield, MO, with Pastor Fields officiating.

A short graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett.

The family would like to thank all of Ruby's former Southwestern Bell co-workers in both Eldon and Springfield for your cards, phone calls, and prayers. You are special people, and the family is grateful for the support and love that you showed to her.

PARKER

Searcy Maynard Parker, 79, retired United States Treasury Department special agent, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003.

Mr. Parker was born November 12, 1923 in New Orleans, LA to parents, James Searcy and Alma (Maynard) Parker.

He attended Southwestern  Louisiana Institute, where he received a B.S. degree in Business Administration. He served as a Technician 5th grade in the Army during WWII. Mr. Parker was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Las Vegas, NV and  Jefferson City, MO. While in Las Vegas, he served as President of the Methodist Men and was a Boy Scout troop leader. His hobbies included sailing and camping.

Survivors include: his wife George Ann; daughter Cynthia Parker of Columbia, MO; son, James Parker of Wichita; grandchildren, William Parker, Andrew Parker, Abigail Parker and Cecily Georgiana Isabelle Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Searcy and Alma (Maynard) Parker; sister, Alma Polk; and brother, Collier Parker. He was a devoted husband and father who will be remembered with love by his wife and descendents.

Service will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 2 p.m. at Kechi United Methodist Church.

A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society, 4218 Southeast Blvd., Wichita, KS 67210. Downing & Lahey Mortuary East, Wichita, KS.

SUNDERMEYER

Mae E. Sundermeyer, 86, of  Jefferson City, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at St. Mary's Health Center.

She was born July 12, 1916, in Wainwright, Missouri a daughter of Jon Anton and Ameila Koelling Sundermeyer.

She was a graduate of  Jefferson City High School. She worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue from 1950 until her retirment in 1979 in the Withholding Tax Department. She was a member of the Central United Church of Christ, where she was also a member of the church Sixth Circle. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star New Bloomfield Chapter #138; AARP; ARMSE and the Democratic Club of Callaway County.

She is survived by a nephew: Melvin Sundermeyer of Holts Summit; a niece: Marilyn Struchtemeyer of Hartsburg; three great-nephews: Mark Sundermeyer, Michael Sundermeyer, Brian Struchtemeyer and a great-niece: Melissa Struchtemeyer. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Helen Bretthorst, Elaine Sundermeyer, Delores Sundermeyer and one brother: Clarence Sundermeyer.

Friends will be received from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Central United Church of Christ or the Charity of the Donor's Choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel, 2613 West Main Street; 636-3838.

BAILEY

Jacqueline Dolores Duzan Bailey, age 79, of Seminole,  Oklahoma, passed away Sunday morning, June 8, 2003 at her home.

She was born July 1, 1923 in Nevada, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Edward and Josephine Potts, Duzan.

Mrs. Bailey was a 20 year retiree of K-Mart.

She is survived by one daughter Sibbya Jo Bailey Phillips of Seminole,  Oklahoma; one niece, Jackie Schaefer and one nephew, Scott Fleener, many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 14, 2003 at the Ozark Chapel Cemetery in Laurie. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie-Sunrise Beach Chapel of Laurie.

BOND

Pauline E. Bond, 77, of Arma, KS., formerly of Independence passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003.

Ms. Bond was born October 7, 1925 to Claude L. and Cora Belle Boles in Eldon, MO. Pauline graduated from Eugene High School in 1942. She married Loyd Vergil Bond in 1947.

Ms. Bond worked for the Independence Board of Education as an Accounting Clerk until she retired in 1985.

She is survived by her daughter Donna Alvested and husband Jack, Arma, KS.; one brother Fred C. Boles, Victoria, TX.; one sister, Nadine Kauffman,  Jefferson City, MO.; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous friends. Pauline is preceded in death by her husband Loyd Vergil in 1976, her daughter, Peggy L. Stewart, one sister Edna Mae Henley, her infant twin brother, Paul E. Boles, her brother George Boles, and longtime friend Francis Schuler.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003 at George C. Carson's and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Floral Hills Cemetery.

GRAY

Ida June Gray, 83, of Dixon, died Thursday, June 12, 2003, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla.

She was born June 4, 1920, in St. Louis, a daughter of William Ernest and Bertha E. Seago Gray.

She was baptized early in life and attended the Baptist Church. She had worked as a nurses aid in St. Louis and later cared for the home-bound.

Survivors include numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will be from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 15, 2003, at the Long-Gilbert Funeral Home, Dixon, MO.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 15, 2003 at the Long-Gilbert Funeral Home, Dixon, with Bro. Wilbur Warman officiating. Interment in the Dixon Cemetery.

JENKINS

Tandy Jenkins, 91, of Eldon, MO died Friday, June 6, 2003.

Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon.

Complete funeral arrangements will be announced later by Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO.

HUDDLESTON

Harold Dale Huddleston, Sr., 69, of Otterville, passed away on June 12, 2003 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia.

He was born on April 1, 1934 at Ulman, MO, the son of Galphrey & Edith Markle Huddleston. On December 25, 1954, he was married to Phyllis Hirst in Tipton, MO.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m on Monday, June 16, 2003 at the Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on June 17, 2003 at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton with Rev. Harold Nicks officiating. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery.

McKENNA

Colonel Edward C. McKenna (U.S. Army Ret.), of Lansing, KS, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2003 at the Medicalodge of Leavenworth, KS.

He was born the son of Edward C. and Gail (Ruthven) McKenna on October 11, 1925 in  Jefferson City, MO. He married Mary. S. Loethen on August 9, 1947 in  Jefferson City. She survives of the home.

Col. McKenna retired from the United States Army after serving over 30 years. He enlisted in the Army-Air Corp in 1943 and served in World War II. After attending college, he received his commission. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars earning numerous citations including five Bronze Service Stars. While he was in the Army he had been stationed with his family in Germany for over 7 years. He was a member of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church of Lansing, where he was a past board member and eucharistic minister. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW, and enjoyed playing golf. Col. McKenna was a wonderful husband and father, and he was very proud of his military service.

He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Mary, son and his wife, Edward C. and Mary Jo McKenna, Omaha, NE; daughters, Sheila K. and her husband Michael Gonterwitz, Olathe, KS; and Gail A. Masterson, Osage Beach, MO, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. His parents and sisters, Dorothy Lindsay and Mary Lou Wehmeyer preceded him in death.

A visitation will be held Sunday, June 15, 2003 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapels, Leavenworth (500 Oak St. 913-682-1614). A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friends may call after noon.

A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Fr. Mike Stubbs will be held Monday, 1 p.m. at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (900 Ida). Burial with full military honors will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

The family requests memorials are made to the Parkinson's Foundation in care of the funeral home.
