DeBRODIE

Edward "Boomer" W. DeBrodie age 35 of Fulton died Friday, June 20, 2003 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

He was born June 11, 1968 in Columbia the son of Edward and Elma Summers DeBrodie. He was married to Trisha Hampton on February 13, 1988 in Fulton. She survives of the home.

He is also survived by two daughters: Krista DeBrodie and Lacey DeBrodie and one son Justin DeBrodie all of the home.

Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, June 23, 2003 at 4 p.m. in the Debo Funeral Chapel in Fulton with Revs. John Foley and Mike Crowson officiating. Burial will be in the Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association.

NAVE

Robert Leslie Nave, 64, of Iberia, died June 20, 2003, at his home.

He was born in  Jefferson City on December 26, 1938, a son of Paul and Violet (James) Nave. On August 24, 1974, he was married to Donna (McKee) Perry, who survives at the home.

He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of the Iberia Masonic Lodge #410 AF and AM, the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbia 32nd Degree, the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine in Springfield, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in  Jefferson City, the United States Submarine Veterans, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Crocker VFW Post #4956. He served as an Alderman for Ward 1 on the Iberia City Council.

Others survivors include: three sons, Rodney Perry of Iberia, Todd Nave of Fairlawn, Ohio, and Paul Nave of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; three daughters, Linda Grellner of Rich Fountain and Debbie Wiles and Kristy Lawson both of Iberia; two brothers, Paul Nave of Prescott, Arizona, and John Nave of Olathe, Kansas; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23, at the funeral home. Rev. Monty Roark will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Iberia Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Missouri River Hospice.

BAKER

Kathleen (Kay) Lucille Baker, 79, of Holts Summit, Mo., died June 18, 2003 at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born October 22, 1923, at Marshall, Mo., the daughter of Jacob Herbert and Marjorie Colvin Wilder. She was married July 26, 1941, at Mexico, Mo., to Richard Clark, who preceded her in death on April 10, 1949; she then was married August 22, 1959, at  Jefferson City, Mo., to Harold B. Baker, who preceded her in death on November 26, 1979.

She attended the  Jefferson City public school and was a graduate of St. Peters High School, Class of 1941.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Circle #3 of the Church, the American Association of Retired Persons, both the Local and the National Associations, the Association of Retired Missouri State Employees, the Women's International Bowling Congress, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Elk's Ladies Auxiliary, and the Capital Region Medical Center Auxiliary.

She was a homemaker and an accountant, and had been employed for 34 years with the Missouri State Government, with 28 of those years with the Division of Worker's Compensation.

Survivors include three children, Dianne (Clark) Trippensee of O'Fallon, Illinois, Pamela Kay (Clark) Burger of Ludlow, Massachusetts, Richard Allen Clark of Collierville, Tennessee, eight grandchildren, Bretten Burger, Brittany Burger, Derek Clark, Elizabeth Clark, Caitlin Clark, Laura Clark, Jena Trippensee, and Darin Trippensee; one sister, Virginia (Wilder) Smith, Darlington, South Carolina. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Monday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Rudolph W. Beard to officiate. Interment will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church, the American Lung Association or to the  Jefferson City Day Care Center.

Visitation will be at the First Presbyterian Church, Monday, 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Buescher Memorial Home.

BLACK

Sidney R. Black, 65, Fulton, Missouri, died June 19, 2003, at the University of Missouri Hospital, Columbia, Mo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. June 26, 2003, at Calvary Baptist Church, 227 E. 6th St., Fulton, Mo. The Rev. Charles Black will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton, Mo. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. June 24, 2003, at Warren Funeral Chapel, 107 E. 6th St., Fulton, Mo.

He was born March 16, 1938, in Fulton, Mo., a son of Jack Black and Marybelle Robinette Black. He was married June 3, 1972, to Violet Drivers Black.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Fulton, Mo., a member of Calvary Baptist Church Brotherhood and Brotherhood Choir. He attended Fulton public schools. He was employed at Harbison Walker Refactories in Fulton, Mo. He owned Black Upholstery Co. of Fulton, Mo.

Survivors include: his wife, Violet Black of Fulton, Mo.; three daughters, Pamela Davis, Lisa Porter and Donna Lawson, all of Fulton, Mo.; five sons, Sidney Black Jr., Timothy and Kevin Black, all of Dallas, TX, Samuel Porter of  Jefferson City, Mo. and Anthony Porter of Fulton, Mo.; five sisters, Maime E. Pasley, Estella Henderson, and Sterling Black, all of Fulton, Mo., Barbara Black of  Jefferson City, Mo., and Norma Glover of Holts Summit, Mo.; two brothers, the Rev. Charles Black of Lithonia, Ga., and William Black of Fulton, Mo.

He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers and three sisters.

GISH

Dr. Edward Rutledge Gish, 94, of Fulton, MO, died Monday, June 16, 2003, at Fulton Manor Care Center.

He was born on September 5, 1908 in St. Louis, the son of Edward Clarence Gish and Bessie Chalfant Rutledge Gish. He was married on July 8, 1938 in St. Louis to Miriam Josephine Slicker (Germ. Schlicker) who died on April 23, 1996.

He received the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1930 from Westminster College; the Doctor of Medicine degree from St. Louis University Medical School in 1935; and the Master of Surgery degree from St. Louis University in 1939.

While practicing as a physician and surgeon in Eldorado, Illinois, he served as Senior Instructor in Surgery at St. Louis University Medical School from 1939 to 1943. In 1946 he established a private medical practice in Fulton, Missouri until his retirement in 1989.

He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army during World War II, 1943-1946, serving as Chief of Septic and General Surgery Section, 70th General Hospital in Africa and Italy. In 1964 he was appointed by former Governor Warren Hearnes as a Reserve Honorary Colonel of the Governor's Staff.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fulton; a past-president of the Missouri Symphony Society and an endowing benefactor; Fellow of the American College of Surgeons; an affiliate member of the Royal Society of London; and served as Medical Director of the Callaway County Civil Defense.

He was a member of the International College of Surgeons; American Medical Association; Missouri Medical Society; Callaway County Medical Society; American Law Enforcement Association; National Board of Directors of the Red Poll Breeders Association; and contributed articles to professional journals.

He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity at Westminster College; Alpha Omega Alpha medical fraternity; Board of Directors of the University of Missouri Library; and was a supporting alumnus of St. Louis University and a member of the St. Louis University DuBourg Society.

At the age of 77, he served as co-captain of the US Team World Masters Cross-country Ski Association in 1985; was a competitive-grade chess player; and was a proficient musician in voice and piano.

In 1989 he authored a book titled "Plantagenet Portraits in Stone: Unique XII Century."

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Ann Rutledge Gish Champion, Omaha, Nebraska; and Mary Priscilla Gish Devous-Chojnacki and Leon Chojnacki, Dallas, Texas ; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Weston, Charles, Kingdon, and Gareth Gish; and three sisters, Louise Killion; Alma LaRose; and Virginia Arink Craig.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2003, at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin Aldermanbury, Winston Churchill Memorial and Library at Westminster College, 501 Westminster Avenue, Fulton, Missouri. The Reverend Doctors Jack Barden and Raymond McCallister will officiate. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery,  Jefferson City, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the name of E. Rutledge Gish, MD, to the Missouri Symphony Society, P.O Box 1121, Ninth and Locust, Columbia Missouri, 65205.

Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, 3210 N. Ten Mile Drive,  Jefferson City, Missouri 65109, (573/893-5251), is in charge of arrangements.

GUERRANT

Mrs. Ruth Pauline Guerrant, age 85 of Fulton died Friday June 21, 2003 at her home.

She was born May 2, 1918 in Bakersfield, Missouri the daughter of the late James Ruben and Cynthia Dera Gowin Price. She was married to Philip Stanley Guerrant on August 30, 1945 in Fulton and he preceded her in death on April 9, 1984.

She is survived by one son, Stanley Wayne Guerrant of New Bloomfield and one daughter Norma Faye Houchins of Holts Summit, and one grandson Michael Houchins of  Jefferson City and one granddaughter Kristin Guerrant of New Bloomfield. She was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers.

She was a member of Southside Baptist church and had served as the church pianist and organist for many years. She had worked at Fulton State Hospital as supervisor of food service retiring in 1983. She was a graduate of Bakersfield High School.

Funeral services of Mrs. Guerrant will be Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at the Southside Baptist Church in Fulton with Dr. Ron Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton.

Memorials may be made to the Southside Baptist Church.

LAWSON

Margaret Adeline "Addie" Lawson, 87, of Dixon, died Friday, June 20, 2003, at Phelps County Regional Center, Rolla.

She was born May 30, 1916, at Dixon, a daughter of Willard and Ona McKnolly Dake.

She was married to Floyd Lawson, who died February 12, 1967.

She was a member of First Church of God, Dixon. She was a housewife.

She is survived by: two sons, Carl Lawson, High Ridge, and Dean Lawson, Dixon; two daughters, Maxine French, Dixon, and Linda Robinett, Springfield, Tennessee; three sisters, Katie Howser, Charlsie Howser, and Rozine Nichols, all of Dixon; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Interment will be in Lawson Cemetery, near Dixon.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and noon-1 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home, Dixon.

WARDEN

Ms. Lois Ellen Warden died Thursday June 19, 2003 at Callaway Community Hospital in Fulton.

She was born February 20, 1943 in Callaway County the daughter of the late John Clayton and Dorothy Elizabeth Phelps Warden.

She is survived by one brother, Clarence C. Warden of Fulton and two sisters Iva O'Neal of Fulton and Frances Watson of Tuscalosa Alabama, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Ms. Warden will be conducted Monday June 23, 2003 at 1 p.m. in the Debo Funeral Chapel with Mr. Bruce Williamson officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
