RACKERS
Arthur F. Rackers, 74, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at the St. Mary's Health Center.
He was born November 10, 1928, in Jefferson City, a son of Otto and Rose Verslues Rackers. He was married February 18, 1950, in Jefferson City, Missouri, to Martha Shirley Schwab who survives at the home.
He was a retired Prison Guard where he worked for more than 15 years. He previously worked for International Shoe and McGraw-Edison.
He is also survived by two daughters: Donna Stone of Jefferson City and Rita Gavin of Port Charlotte, Florida; two brothers: Dave Rackers of Jefferson City and Norman Rackers of Jefferson City; one sister: Betty Johnson of Higbee, Missouri; and three grandchildren: Austin Stone, Brad Gavin and Danielle Gavin. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Friends will be received from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday July 6, 2003 at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2003, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel, with Fr. James M. Smith officiating. Entombment will follow at the Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

RUSSELL
Jonathon W. "Jon Jon" Russell, 25, of Holts Summit, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003.
He was born December 2, 1977 in Camp Pendleton, California, a son Richard Charles Russell and Nina Marie Tichelkamp.
His mother Nina home schooled Jonathon and he received his high school diploma through ICS. He was employed as a Sodering Specialist previously with ABB and then currently with Modine Manufacturing Company. Jonathon had planned on attending the Law Enforcement Training Academy in January. He enjoyed going on outings with his family, spending time with his cat, fishing, driving his truck and keeping up on current U.S. events. He had a kind and gentle spirit.
He is survived by his father: Richard C. Russell of Jefferson City; his mother: Nina M. Tichelkamp of Holts Summit; one brother: Michael L. Russell of Holts Summit; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Private family services will be held at the Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Holts Summit with Fr. Donald Lammers officiating.

SCHWAB
Betty A. Schwab, age 75, of Calwood, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at her home.
She was born April 15, 1928, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Eszra John and Josephine (Steirs) McCarter. On March 23, 1946, she married Arthur G. Schwab in St. Louis, MO. He survives of the home.
She is also survived by two sons; three grandchildren, Danny Raymond Schwab, Jr. of St. Louis, Denise Rene Speichinger of Clarksville, TN and Dawn Marie Storey of Clarksville, TN; four great-grandchildren, Angela Marie Schwab, Terrence Joseph Speichinger III, Ashley Marie Storey and Shawna Rene Speichinger, all of Clarksville. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
The family is being served by the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri.
WILBERS
Timmy Joseph Wilbers, 41, of Holts Summit, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at St. Mary's Health Center.
He was born November 11, 1961, in Jefferson City, a son of Bobby Lee and Rosemary B. Bungart Wilbers who survive in Holts Summit.
He was a 1980 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He worked for Modine Manufacturing for twenty-two years, where he was currently a Supervisor. He also was a part-time Mail Carrier and Farmer. He loved fishing and collecting model tractors.
He is also survived by three sons: Adam Lee Wilbers, Andrew Joseph Wilbers and Travis Lou Wilbers all of New Bloomfield; two sisters: Sandra Rackers and Cheryl Korsmeyer both of Holts Summit; two brothers: Stephen Wilbers of Jefferson City and Michael Wilbers of Holts Summit; his companion: Charlotte Johnson and her son: Krenan Johnson both of the home.
Friends will be received from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2003, at the Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Holts Summit.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2003, at the Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, with Fr. Thomas E. McGrath officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Andrews Church Cemetery in Holts Summit.

WILSON
Terry Franklin Wilson, 44, of Holts Summit, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, in Jefferson City.
He was born June 16, 1959, in Kennett, Missouri, a son of James E. and Jewel Martin Wilson.
He was a 1977 graduate of Senath High School in Senath, Missouri and attended Linn Technical College.
He was married August 24, 1995, in Indianola, Mississippi, to Linda Sikes, who survives at the home.
He was a Radiator Tester for Modine Manufacturing from 2000 until the present. He previously worked for NAPA Autoparts as a Sales Clerk in Mississippi, Arkansas and Missouri. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Jefferson City. He loved hunting, fishing, Cardinals baseball, cooking and his family.
He is also survived by: his mother, Jewel Wilson of Fairdealing, Missouri; one son, Michael E. Wilson of Jefferson City; one daughter, Brandy M. Jackson of Jefferson City; one step-son, Brad Harper of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; four brothers, Alvin Hambrick of Fort Wayne, Indiana, David Hambrick of Marietta, Georgia, Jim Wilson of Marmaduke, Arkansas and Richard Wilson of Rector, Arkansas; two sisters, Doris Mills of Moorehouse, Missouri and Mary Turner of Hornersville, Missouri and three grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2003, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2003, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel, with Dr. Monte Shinkle officiating. Additional Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Saturday, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan, Missouri.
Additional Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2003, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan, Missouri. Interment will follow in the Center Hill Cemetery in Doniphan, Missouri.

BORTS
Ricky L. Borts, 29, California, MO passed away Monday, July 1, 2003 in Jefferson City, MO.
He was born Feb. 21, 1974 in Boonville, MO the son of Gerald and Peggy Cassil Borts, who survive in California, MO. He was married June 13, 1998 in Latham, MO to Amanda Hart, who survives at the home in California.
He was employed with Modine Manufacturing in Jefferson City as a radiator technician for 4 years. He was a member of the Pilot Grove Baptist Church, Latham, MO. He was a member of the California Rural Fire Department, enjoyed bull riding in the rodeos. He graduated from California High School in 1993, where he was active in the FFA. He attended fire training through the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. He loved the outdoors, golfing, fishing and hunting.
Survivors also include: his son, Weston Lane Borts at the home, one brother, Russell Borts, 3 sisters, Devora Longan with her husband, Bruce, Denise Horn with her husband, Greg, and Darlene Patrzykont with her husband, Kevin; two sisters-in-law; Stacey Hart and Tina Fry with her husband, Kenneth; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, James and Sherry Kepler; grandparents, Louis and Jeanette Watts state of Florida, Catherine Cassil of Jamestown and Viola Borts of California, MO; Nieces, Jessica Hayes, Lorrie Longan, Stefanie Borts, Brenda & Ashley Patrzykont, and Cali Ann Hart; Nephews, Alan Horn, Darrell James Hayes, Jr., Trenton Hart, Christopher Longan and Nicholas Fry and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Borts, July 25, 1980.
Services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, July 6, 2003 at the Main Street Baptist Church in California, MO. Officiating will be Rev. Floyd Leimkuller and Rev. Ken Mathes with burial in the California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2003 at the Main Street Baptist Church; Sunday 8:00-12:00 p.m. at the Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services and Sunday, 12-3 at Main Street Baptist Church.

BIRDSONG
Floyd Dwight Birdsong, 85, passed away on July 3, 2003 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, MO.
The son of Tillman H. and Margaret Stinson Birdsong, he was born in Rosedale, KS on Oct. 12, 1917. He was married on Oct. 27, 1945 in California, MO to Della F. Williams who survives at the home. He was a 1935 graduate of Clarksburg High School, a farmer and did carpenter work. He was a 5 year veteran of WWII, serving in the US Cavalry as a border guard until the unit was disbanded and he was transferred to the armored division which served in the Battle of the Bulge in the European theater, entering into and liberating the prison camps at Auschwitz and Buchenwald. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, a deacon emeritus and a member of the Men's Bible Class.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Nancy Lachner with her husband, Jim of California and Barbara Birdsong of Oklahoma City, Okla. Also surviving is 1 sister, Norma Milligan of California and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Sunday, July 6, 2003 at the Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO. The Rev. Greg Morrow will officiate and burial will be in the California City Cemetery.
Visitation was Saturday evening, 6-8 PM at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services.

ELLIOTT
Patricia Scrivner Elliott, 54, California, MO died Thursday, July 3, 2003 at her home in California, MO.
She was born March 14, 1949 in Baltimore, MD, to Wayne and Alice Collett Scrivner. Her father preceded her in death, Sept. 24, 1965 and her mother survives in California. She was married in California, MO to Johnny Ray Artelt, who survives in Maryville, MO.
She was an order clerk for Scholastic, Inc in Jefferson City, MO. She was a member of the First Christian Church in California, MO and a 1967 graduate of California High School.
Also surviving are one son, Allen Elliott of Jefferson City, MO; one brother, Brian Scrivner with his wife, Joan of California and one grandson, William Eli.
Services will be held at 4:30 P.M., Sunday, July 6, 2003 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO. Officiating will be Rev. David Nicholson and burial will be in the California City Cemetery.
Visitation was Saturday, July 5, 2003 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California.

CHAFFIN
Harold Dale Chaffin, 63, of Dixon, died July 2, 2003, in the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.
He was born February 1, 1940, in St. Louis, a son of Marvin and Bonnie Palmer Chaffin.
He was married July 3, 1974, in Waynesville, to Barbara Sue Oliver.
Survivors include: wife, Barbara Chaffin; five sons, Harold Chaffin Jr., Steve Chaffin, Jeffery Chaffin, Kenneth Chaffin and Glen Chaffin; five daughters, Bonnie Reed, Denice Chaffin, Tina Thompson, Cheryl Chaffin and Kimberly Ayers; one brother, Mike Gary; one sister, Norma Palazzolo.
Funeral services will be July 7 at 1 PM at Long-Gilbert Funeral Home, Dixon.
Visitation will be from 5-6 PM July 6 and from 12 noon-1 PM, July 7 in the Funeral Home.
