JONES
Farris Jones, 81, Dixon, died Sept. 25, 2001, at his home.
He was born
March 28, 1920, in Iberia, a son of Arthur and Lucy Bacon Jones. He was married
Oct. 24, 1952, in Sullivan, to Nina Holtsclaw, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Bronze Star. He owned and operated Triangle Drilling Company in Dixon and Farris Jones Pump in Richland. He was a member of Burnett Christian Church, Dixon, for more than 40 years serving as deacon and Sunday school teacher.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Glee Jones, Seattle, and Gay Jones, Dixon; and one sister, Clarice Whitaker, Dixon.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Burnett Christian Church. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.

PUTNAM
Fred Putnam, 83, Jefferson City, died Sept. 25, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born
Aug. 29, 1918, in New Bloomfield, a son of Walter M. and Pearl M. Forbis Putnam. He was married
Aug. 24, 1947, in California, to Anna Beatrice Sommerer, who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, he was a 1936 graduate of Jefferson City High School. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was employed with the Jefferson City Fire Department from 1950 until his retirement as assistant chief in 1978.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church; the International Assn. of Firefighters, Local 671; and the VFW, Roy Sone Post 1003.
Other survivors include: one son, William D. Putnam, Camdenton; one daughter, Linda A. Lock, Chillicothe; five grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Alvin Lange will officiate. Graveside services with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
WEFENSTETTE
Frankie Bullard Wefenstette, 91, Sikeston, died Sept. 24, 2001, at her home.
She was born
Oct. 3, 1909, in Millersburg, a daughter of Seth B. and Georgia Ward Bullard. She was married
May 31, 1930, in Jefferson City, to Emmitt Wefenstette, who died Dec. 31, 1983.
A graduate of Fulton High School, she was a member of Millersburg Baptist Church. She retired from Fulton State Hospital in 1972.
Survivors include: one son, Robert L. Wefenstette, Sikeston; one sister, Sadine Bezler, Columbia; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
One grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial will be in Millersburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

She was born
July 14, 1931, in Cole Camp, a daughter of Clarence and Clara Fisher Goosen. She was married
Jan. 17, 1970, in Sedalia, to Paul R. Erickson, who survives at the home.
She was a 1949 graduate of Cole Camp High School. She worked for Bell Telephone and J.A. Lamy Manufacturing until retirement in 1996. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sedalia.
Other survivors include: three sons, Kenneth H. Stewart, Kansas City, Gerry R. Stewart, Camdenton, and Richard C. Stewart, Sedalia; one brother, Orville Goosen, Sedalia; two sisters, Florine Hesse, Cole Camp, and Geraldine Logue, Hondo, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.
One grandchild preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Ken Tatkenhorst will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A member of Phi Theta Kappa, he was employed by Ruckman's Refrigeration in Crocker.
Other survivors include: one son, Joey Ament, Crocker; three sisters, Cynthia Parker, Hot Springs Village, Ark., Sheila Story, Appling, Ga., and Lois Roach, Roby; and maternal grandmother Bernice Heath, Clinton.

BEVER
Virginia Johnson Bever, 78, Crocker, died Nov. 7, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
She was born
Oct. 26, 1923, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, a daughter of George and Estella Ayers Garrison. She was married
in 1940, in Lima, Ohio, to Robert Eugene Johnson, who died Jan. 22, 1981. She was later married
to Jess Bever, who also preceded her in death.
A member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Crocker, she was a dental assistant at Fort Leonard Wood for 30 years.
Survivors include: three sons, John Johnson, Vaughnsville, Ohio, Robert Johnson, Fulton, and Ronald Johnson, Crocker; one daughter, Ellen Brown, Fort Bragg, N.C.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Cornelius Catholic Church. The Rev. Walter Reisinger will officiate. Burial will be in Palace Cemetery near Evening Shade.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday at Long Funeral Home, Crocker, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today.

CRADER
James Lewis Crader Sr., 63, Jefferson City, died Nov. 8, 2001, at his home.
He was born
Oct. 18, 1938, in St. Louis, a son of Charles Royal Crader and Mathilda Marie Buersmeyer Crader. He was married
Dec. 17, 1960, in Jefferson City, to Carolyn Ann Schlumbohm, who survives of the home.
He was a 1957 graduate of Helias High School.
He owned and operated T.J.'s Café and Catering for 26 years. He was employed with Gold Cup Bakery, Coffeetime Vending Service and Canteen Vending Service.
He was a member and former fair chairman of the Jefferson City Jaycees, served on the chain crew for Helias football games for more than 40 years, assisted with the Optimist Club Christmas Tree program, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Other survivors include: three sons, James Crader Jr., Dan Crader and Kenny Crader, all of Jefferson City; three brothers, Dick Crader and Larry Crader, both of Jefferson City, and Tom Crader, Evergreen, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorri Ann Southern.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. The Rev. Douglas Crader will officiate.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, followed by a prayer service.

HUTCHISON
Roy L. Hutchison, 73, Eldon, died Nov. 8, 2001, in Jefferson City.
He was born
May 22, 1928, in Eldon, a son of James G. and Myrtle R. Wright Hutchison. He was married
April 22, 1958, in Windsor, to Catherine Kaiser, who survives at the home.
He was a retired custodian at Eldon Junior High School.
He is also survived by two sisters, Ellen Guyan, Torrance, Calif., and Eulah Lee, St. Martins.
One son, Larry Hutchison, preceded him in death.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Big Rock Cemetery near Versailles. The Rev. Richard Cramer will officiate.
Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested in care of the family.

Timothy A. Jeffries, 40, Eldon, died Nov. 7, 2001, at Lake Regional Health System.
He was born
Dec. 14, 1960, in Iberia, a son of Virgil and Cecille Jeffries. He was married
Dec. 16, 2000, in Lake Ozark, to Barbara McCulley, who survives in Eldon.
He was a truck driver, a jailer for Miller County and a member of China Ridge Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: one stepson, Robert Taylor, Macks Creek; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Jeffries, Ulman; five brothers, Laverne Jeffries, Ulman, Donald Jeffries, Finley, Ill., Jerry Jeffries, Osage Beach, Dennis Jeffries and Lester Jeffries, both of Brumley; five sisters, Louise Thorson, Olean, Lucille Hargis, Moberly, Erma Lee Byrd, Ulman, Faye Burks, Columbia, and Nelda Varner, Lake Ozark; and four step grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Kaiser.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.
