HOSTE
Mrs. Frieda Hoste, age 74, of Linn, MO, died Saturday, August 2, 2003 at St. Marys Hospital, Jefferson City, MO.
She was born May 1, 1929 at Irrsdorf-Salzburg, Austria, the daughter of Franz & Therisa (Lugstein) Dengg. Both parents are deceased. She was married on July 21, 1949 at Salzburg, Austria to Albert R. Hoste who survives at the home.
She and Albert just celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary. Frieda had lived in Manhattan, Kansas for many years prior to moving to Linn, MO one year ago. She was a homemaker and had worked as a Nurses Aide in home health care for several years while living in Kansas. During the later part of World War II she served as a Red Cross Worker tending to wounded soldiers being transported on trains. She was a member of the St. George Church, Linn, MO; a member of the V.F.W. in Manhattan, KS; and was a member of the American Legion. Frieda was an avid gardener and dearly loved flowers. She was also a gourmet cook. In addition to her husband Albert, she is survived by 3 sisters: Anna Sollinger & Maria Strobl, both of Austria, and Therisa Marvaso of Washington , D.C. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, MO from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday. A prayer service will be conducted Tuesday at 5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. George Church, Linn, MO with the Rev. Father I.C. Medina officiating. Interment will be at Countryside Memorial Gardens, Owensville, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Morton Funeral Home, Linn, MO.
MARBERRY
Leonard F. "Red" Marberry, Jr., 70, of Ft. Myers, died August 1, 2003.
He was born in Madisonville, KY, a son of the late Leonard F. Sr. and Christine Marberry. Red served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, he worked for Modine Manufacturing for 36 years, retiring as a supervisor.
He wintered in the area for many years and moved permanently in 1997, he was a member of Assembly of God, Ft. Myers. Mr. Marberry is survived by: his wife of 25 years, Karen J.; his sons, Michael L. (Phyllis) Marberry of NJ; Steve (Cheri) Marberry of IL, Roy Cagle of Ft. Myers, Robert (Lori) Cagle of MO, Michael Cagle of LA; his sisters, Mary Curtis of Naples, Martha Ligon of KY; and 11 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. In his memory, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice of Lee County. Cremation arrangements by Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
RAITHEL
Mr. Alvin J. Raithel, age 81 years, of Jefferson City, MO, died Sunday, August 3, 2003 at St. Marys Health Center.
Mr. Raithel was born December 22, 1921 at Wardsville, Mo the son of Christian F. and Anna K. Schnieders Raithel, both deceased. He was married on November 27, 1948 at Vienna, MO to Marcelline C. Stratman who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Mr. Raithel attended rural Cole County schools. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Raithel was employed as a mechanic with Raithel Implement for several years and with Al Scheppers Motor Company from 1959 until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of St. Peters Church; a member of the Holy Name Society; a member of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5; a member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wyman Basinger Post 35.
Survivors include four sons: David J. Raithel and his wife Linda of Russellville, MO, Douglas B. Raithel and his wife Deborah of Lohman, MO, Kevin J. Raithel of Russellville, MO, and Carl A. Raithel of Jefferson City, MO; three daughters: Emily Ann Raithel of Jefferson City, MO, Christine M. Gerstner and her husband Larry of Jefferson City, MO, and Brenda K. Weidinger and her husband Joe of Vienna, MO; three sisters: Florence Ortmeyer, Irma Raithel, and Gladys Strope, all of Jefferson City, MO; three brothers: Herbert Raithel of Jefferson City, MO, Carney Raithel of Versailles, MO, and Elbert Raithel of Jefferson City, MO; ten grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one great grandson; and one step great grandson. Three sisters, Alma Rackers, Margaret Landwehr and Rosa Huhman all preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday with a Prayer Service to be conducted at 7:30 p.m. in the Freeman Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at St. Peters Church with the Reverend Donald Lammers officiating. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the St. Peters Church Building Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
RUNYAN-HOLLIS
Barcie Runyan-Hollis, 88, of Jefferson City, MO, died Saturday, August 2, 2003.
She was born Nov. 4, 1914 in Morgan County, the daughter of Leonard Webb and Lena (Delong) Webb. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Eldon for many years and was a volunteer at the State Baptist Convention.
She enjoyed gardening and crafts. Survivors include one son, Stan Runyan, Jefferson City, MO; one daughter, Claudine Runyan-Sattler, Albuquerque, New Mexico; one brother, Clifford Webb, State of Texas ; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, Ivy Runyan and Richard Hollis and also two sisters, Lorene Brown and Viola Webb.
Visitation will be held at the Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, MO, today, August 4, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Randall Bunch officiating. Burial will be in the Eldon City Cemetery, Eldon, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
SCHUPP
Aleta M. Schupp, 69, of Corvallis died Saturday at her home.
She was born in Jefferson City, MO., to Hugo and Laura (Zbinden) Mueller. She grew up in Jefferson City and was married there to J.Stan Schupp on November 8, 1952.
Her husband died on August 7, 2002, and she moved to Corvallis that November. Mrs. Schupp is survived by her son, James S. Schupp; daughter Lisa S. Schupp; granddaughter Amanda J. Schupp, all of Corvallis; her mother Laura and sister Doris Wachter both of Jefferson City.

SMITH
Martin Henry "Babe" Smith, age 77, of Versailles, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2003 at his home.
He was born September 9, 1925 in Belton, the son of Martin H. and Fannie Kinnison Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired stone mason, and a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II. He is survived by three brothers and two sisters.
Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
COPELAND
Linda Copeland, 54, founder of Steaks At The Lake, passed into a beautiful, loving and peaceful existence in her home surrounded by her family on August 4, 2003 at 7:30 a.m. in Osage Beach, MO.
Linda was the most unbelievably loving, caring Mother, Grandmother, and Wife as well as being a generous friend, teacher and entrepreneur.
Linda is survived by her husband, Charles D. Copeland; Mother, Pat Bennington (Husband, Marvin); daughters: Michelle West, Melinda Cruz (Husband, Timothy) and Marcia Janucik (Husband, Brian); Grandchildren: Brandon, Sierra, Pierce, Reece and baby girl to be; Sister: Judy Hopp.
Her family will welcome friends to celebrate her life at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. Friends will be received at 3:30 p.m., Memorial Service held at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 6th, 2003.

McCREEDY
Dr. Harry Duane McCreedy, 80, of Bloomfield, IA, was killed Friday, August 1, 2003 in a car accident in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Survivors include five children: Barbara Foss and Craig of Fairfield, H. David McCreedy and Gail of Philomath, OR, Vicki Wilfawn and Mike of Jefferson City, MO, Leslie Arieux and David of Wellman, & Tom McCreedy of Bloomfield; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services for Harry McCreedy will be held Friday, August 8 at 10 a.m. at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, IA.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 7 with the family present from 6-8 p.m.

Marilyn Tulare McCreedy, 79, of Bloomfield, IA, was killed Friday, August 1, 2003 in a car accident in Shenandoah, Iowa.

SILVEY
James A. Silvey, age 70, of Versailles, passed away Sunday evening, August 3, 2003, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
He is survived by his wife, Romarae Silvey, of the home; three sons, Terry Longworth, of La Miranda, CA, David Longworth, of the state of Oregon, and Ray James Silvey, of Elgin, IL; one daughter, Judy Neurauter, of Farmville, VA; his mother, Leland Silvey, of Versailles; two brothers, Edward Silvey, of Jefferson City and Ray Silvey of Parkville, MO; one sister, Gladys Silvey, of Versailles; several grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Silvey.
Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.

Martha Angerer, age 75, of Jefferson City, died Monday, August 4, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of Weber & Sons, Russellville, MO.
ACS-MANNING
Kevin Wayne Acs-Manning, 8, Eldon, MO, died Monday, August 18, 2003 in Eldon, MO.
He was born July 5, 1995 in Granite City, IL, the son of Anthony and Sharon (Tegel) Manning, who survive.
He attended Eldon Elementary School systems, and was a Boy Scout in Eldon, MO. He enjoyed baseball. He was involved in skateboard and tae-kwon-do.
Other survivors include: six brothers, Dalton Williams, James Acs, Christopher Acs, Brian Acs, Alexander Acs, and Kyle Manning; one sister, Temeka Manning; maternal grandmother, Eloise Tegel, Granite City, IL; paternal grandmother, Addie Manning, Chicago, IL; maternal great grandmother, Cleo Gardner, Belleville, IL; several uncles & nieces.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 21 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, MO.
Funeral service will be at 4:00, Thursday, August 21, 2003 at the funeral home with Rev. Stephen Riordan officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Hills Memorial Estates, Edwardsville, IL. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
BALDWIN
Edith Amelia Baldwin, 95, of Port Charlotte passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at Charlotte Regional Medical Center.
Born in Danville, Illinois on August 9, 1908, she moved to Punta Gorda in 1960 from Missouri. She was a member of the Wheeler Congregational Christian Church in Missouri and attended the First United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda. She also enjoyed traveling with her daughters.
Edith is survived by her daughters: Barbara Williams of Port Charlotte, Sharon and her husband Lewis Wilson of Meta, Missouri, Sally Baldwin of Port Charlotte; her sisters, Lucille Russell of Punta Gorda, Christine and her husband Harold Rhodes of Zephyrhils, Florida, Peggy and her husband Russ Rose, of Punta Gorda; her brother, Berlin Tuggle of Danville, Illinois. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Gregory and his wife Kathy Williams, Jeffrey and his wife Nance Williams, Toni and Darrell Davis, Tami Helmig and Mitchel Wilson; 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 22 from 3-4 p.m. at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 5200 Indian Springs Road, Punta Gorda with services to follow at 4 p.m. with her nephew, Dusty Rhodes officiating.
