Gloria attended Taylor No.2 Country School and graduated from Stockport High School with honors. She enrolled at Parson's College, receiving a two-year degree. Gloria taught elementary school in Lockridge, Iowa. Teaching was to be her life's joy. She later completed her BS Degree at Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri, continuing study to earn enough hours to gain her Masters Degree.

Learning and teaching was a great part of Gloria's Life. She taught in St. Charles, Missouri, later moving to Nebraska, teaching in the Sand Hills of that state. She continued to teach in Montana, again, in country schools. Gloria was married to Jerry Naaktgeboren in June of 1949. They have a daughter, Linda Kay Rosin of Butte, Montana.
