HUBER
Edward R. "Ed" Huber, 68, Macks Creek, died Jan. 23, 2002, at his home.
He was born Oct. 5, 1933, in Macks Creek, a son of David A. and Cordia Ann Hunter Huber. He was married May 11, 1951, in Roach, to Audrey Hicks, who survives at the home.
He was a carpenter.
Survivors include: one son, Arthur Huber, Ironton; three daughters, Randa Jackson and Kim Snyder, both of Independence, and Debra Peterson, Stoutland; two brothers, George Huber, Kansas City, and Warren Huber, Willington; three sisters, Vera Galvan, Independence, Audrey Carroll, Nashville, Tenn., and Mary Ann Wendell, Frankfurt, Kan. ; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
One son, Randy Huber, and three grandchildren preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Macks Creek. The Rev. Steve Willis will officiate. Burial will be in Macks Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

SINCLAIR
Veryle Irene Sinclair, 82, of  Jefferson City, Missouri, formerly of Jamestown, North Dakota, died Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at the Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born August 3, 1921, in Bisbee, North Dakota, a daughter of George and Gladys Jennings Wood. She was a 1939 graduate of Bisbee High School in Bisbee, North Dakota. She was also a graduate of the Trinity Hospital School of Nursing in Jamestown, North Dakota, where she received her nursing degree in 1942.
She was married May 1, 1946, in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Malcolm Frank Sinclair, who preceded her in death. She worked as a nurse in hospitals and a nursing home and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed reading and following the Minnesota Twins. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jamestown, North Dakota. She is survived by two sons: Douglas Malcolm Sinclair of Gardner, North Dakota and Gregory Paul Sinclair of Williston, North Dakota; three daughters: Margaret Ann Welsh of Kingman, Arizona; Catherine Irene Lystad of Ambrose, North Dakota and Mary Ellen Barnett of  Jefferson City, Missouri; three sisters: Ellen Gray of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Dorothy Knauf of Oceanside, California and Phyllis Roberts of Davis California; three brothers: George "Bud" Wood of Missoula, Montana; James Wood of Sidney, Montana; John Wood of Las Vegas, Nevada and eleven grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Thursday, December 4, 2003, at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, North Dakota. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2003, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jamestown. Interment will follow in the Highland Home Cemetery in Jamestown. Local arrangements are under the direction of the HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel, 2613 West Main Street; 636-3838.

NOONAN
Leon John Noonan, 74, of  Jefferson City, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born on August 29, 1929 in  Jefferson City, the son of Leonard Joseph Noonan and Anna Louise Huppe Noonan. He was married on July 29, 1952 in  Jefferson City to Patricia Josephine Vogel who died on March 28, 1994.
Mr. Noonan was a 1947 graduate of St. Peter High School and a 1951 graduate of the University of Missouri. A U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Noonan was an insurance and real estate agent for many years in  Jefferson City. He was a member and Eucharistic Minister of St. Joseph Cathedral; attended St. Peter Catholic Church for many years; was a faithful participant in the Perpetual Adoration; and member of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Denise Noonan,  Jefferson City; three daughters and their husbands, Terry and Michael Davis, Raleigh, NC; Kathy and Robert Pappenfort, Madison, MS; and Carol J. Parsons, St. Louis; six grandchildren, Johnathan Pappenfort; Elizabeth Pappenfort; Clara Pappenfort; Megan Noonan; Kyle Noonan; and Neal Parsons; one brother, Joseph Noonan,  Jefferson City; and three sisters, May Ann Adams, St. Louis; Sr. Carolyn Noonan, R. S. M., St. Louis; and Jeanette Fitzsimmons, Kansas City, MO.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at St. Peter Catholic Church followed by military honors. The Rev. Donald W. Lammers will officiate. Private family entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at a later date.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2003, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Helias Foundation, POB 694,  Jefferson City, MO 65102-0694; or Hospice of  Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri, 601 E. High Street,  Jefferson City, MO 65101.

HOOVER
Loren Hoover Jr., age 80, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Fulton, died Sunday, November 30, 2003, at North Valley Manor in St. Louis.
He was born May 15, 1923, in Fulton, the son of the late Loren and Gladys (Gilman) Hoover Sr. Loren had worked in the shoe factory.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at Hillcrest Cemetery, in Fulton, MO. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton.

ZELSMAN
Paul Frederick Zelsman, Sr., age 93, of Versailles, died Sunday, November 30, 2003, Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
He married Leida VanStavern, who preceded him in death. He was a retired farmer, stockman, member of National Farmers Association and Versailles United Methodist Church. He is survived by one son: Paul Zelsman of Versailles; one daughter: Mary Evelyn Klein of Versailles; 5 grandsons; 5 great-grandsons; and 3 great granddaughters.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles, MO. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Versailles Cemetery.

ABBOTT
Mr. James T. Abbott, age 62 years, of  Jefferson City, MO, died Sunday, November 30, 2003 at the Capital Region Medical Center.
Mr. Abbott was born August 1, 1941 at Columbia, MO, the son of Raymond E., Sr. and Sarah Ethel Morrow Abbott, both deceased.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Mr. Abbott attended  Jefferson City High School. He was employed as a chef at several area restaurants until ill health forced his retirement.
Survivors include: two sons, Thomas M. Abbott of  Jefferson City, MO and Michael R. Abbott of Eldon, MO; four daughters, Roxie Henderson of Roanoke, Virginia, Deanna Watson of Broken Arrow,  Oklahoma, Sherry Carlson of Davenport Iowa and Brandy Ellison of Hobbs, New Mexico; three brothers, Raymond Abbott, Jr., H. Douglas Abbott, and Gerald W. Abbott, all of  Jefferson City, MO; a special friend, Sharon Hazelhorst of  Jefferson City and 12 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2003 at the Capital West Christian Church with Mr. Rick Yoder officiating.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to The James Abbott Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

HAGENHOFF
Fred H. Hagenhoff, age 87, of Meta, died Monday, December 1, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born in Meta on July 12, 1916, the son of Liborius and Margaret (Bax) Hagenhoff. On October 1, 1949, in Meta, he was married to Florentine Lueckenotto who survives at the home.
He was retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation. He was also formerly employed with Elbert Raithel Construction, Tweedies Footwear, and International Shoe Company. He worked as caretaker for the funeral home in Meta for 23 years. He was also a part-time farmer and a lifelong member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta.
Other survivors include: five children and their spouses, Janet and Edmund Prenger, Jr., of Taos, Daniel and Joyce Hagenhoff of Wardsville, Dennis and Margie Hagenhoff of Holts Summit, Margie and Dale Helton of Meta, and Randy and Betty Hagenhoff of Meta; one sister, Ida Massman of Meta; two brothers, Ray Hagenhoff of Westphalia and Anton Hagenhoff of Largo, Florida; sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A grandson, Jonathan Hagenhoff, preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by six brothers.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Rev. John Schutty officiating. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Father Luke's LaSalette Mission Club. Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.

BRATCHER
John Edwin Bratcher, Jr., 37, of Centertown died Thursday, December 4, 2003 at his home.
He was born November 18, 1966 in Tuscola, Illinois, a son of John Edwin and Betty Louise Baldwin Bratcher, Sr. He was a graduate of MacArthur High School in Decatur, Illinois, and was currently attending Lincoln University, working towards his Degree in Education. He was married June 6, 1988 in  Jefferson City to Janie Bock, who survives in St. Martins.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1985 to 1986, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal. He worked at the Dollar General Store in Apache Flats, and was a member of the Central Missouri Detachment, Marine Corps League.
He is also survived by two children, Monica and Trey Bratcher of St. Martins; four brothers: Michael Ketchum and wife Sandy of Hallsville; Jack Curry of Decatur, Illinois; Rick Curry and wife Debbie of Decatur; Marshall Bratcher and wife Amy of Lohman; three sisters: Goldie Zumbehl and husband David of Brazito; Evelynn Lancaster and husband Dave of Anchorage, Alaska; Laura Hammond and husband Donnie of Russellville; and 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one niece.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2003 at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel. Private family interment with military honors will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the John Bratcher Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main, 636-3838.

BURKS
Samuel I. "Sammy" Burks, age 97 of Iberia, died December 9, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Care Center.
He was born in Iberia on April 22, 1906, a son of the late Samuel Ira and Nancy Adeline (Nixdorf) Burks. On October 21, 1933, in Lebanon, he was married to Iris Irene Livingston, who preceded him in death on January 12, 2002.
He was a farmer for most of his life and also worked at the Miller County A. S. C. S. for several years. He was a member of Hickory Point Baptist Church near Iberia.
Survivors include: two daughters and their spouses, Catherine and Louie Ponder of Iberia and Carolyn and Dorsey Levell of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Morgan Ponder of Birmingham, AL, Melody Patterson of Iberia, Kendall Ponder of Kirksville, Karla Endicott of Springfield, Penne Young of Hiram, GA, Peggy Lacy of Longmont, CO, and Sam Nichols of St. Charles; eight great-grandchildren, Katie, Stephen, and Brennan Ponder of Birmingham, AL, Jenny Patterson of Iberia, Nathaniel and Madeline Endicott of Springfield, and Hardy and Virginia Young of Hiram, GA; and three step great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Rebecca VanSoest of the state of Idaho and Rachel VanSoest of Kirksville. Three brothers, Virgil and Victor Burks both of Iberia and Johnie Burks of Wichita, KS, and two sisters, Lottie Irwin and Dotsie Crismon both of Iberia, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2003, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Dorsey Levell and Rev. Dr. Roy Tidwell officiating. Interment will be in Livingston Cemetery near Iberia.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hickory Point Baptist Church.

ALBIN
Norma Mae Albin, 85, Jamestown, MO died Saturday, Dec, 13, 2003 at Lakeview Healthcare in Boonville, MO.
She was born on Jan. 29, 1918 in Perry, Ill. the daughter of Jesse and Katie Lucille Haynes Taylor. In 1949 she married Elmer David Albin who died on July 16, 1982.
Survivors include: two sons; Vernon David Albin and his wife Marilyn of Hallsville, MO, and Billy Joe Albin of Bunceton, MO, one daughter, Vera Martin and her husband Jim of Boonville, MO, one brother, Bill Griffin and his wife Emma of Fayette, MO, two grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Hugh Clancey.
No funeral services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are by Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Service in California, MO.

BEMBOOM
James Fredrick "Jim" Bemboom, age 49, of Versailles, passed away Saturday evening, December 13, 2003 at his home.
He was born January 20, 1954 in  Jefferson City, MO, the son of Clemmens and Margaret Zimmerman Bemboom. He was united in marriage on May 29, 1992 in Versailles with Diana Meador Middleton, who survives of the home.
Jim graduated from  Jefferson City High School. He was Assistant Chief of Police for the Versailles Police Department and taught the D. A. R. E. Program at Morgan County R-II School in Versailles for 11 years. He loved to hunt and fish.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Chistopher James Bemboom of Versailles; three daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Bemboom of Versailles, Rebekah Peralta of Seattle, WA, and Deborah Middleton of Versailles; his mother and stepfather, Margaret and Fred Fisher of  Jefferson City; one sister, Margaret Vieth of  Jefferson City; and two grandchildren, Haley Bemboom and James Schaffer, Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, in the Leroy J. Viebrock Memorial Gymnasium on the Morgan County R-II School Campus in Versailles, with Rev. William Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a scholarship fund established at Citizens Bank in Versailles for Criminal Justice Majors. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.

BAKER
Carol J. Baker, age 68, of Fulton, died Thursday, December 18, 2003 at the home of her daughter.
She is survived by one daughter: Beverly Rothove of Fulton; two sons: Thomas & Ronald Baker, both of Fulton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers; & four sisters.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 22, at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Cancer Fund of your choice.

BACKER
Marjorie (Marge) K. Backer, age 80, of Fulton, died Friday, December 19, 2003 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.
She was born May 20, 1923, in Palmyra, MO, the daughter of the late William D. and Minnie (Richards) Keller. On Dec. 25, 1943, near New Bloomfield, she married William "Bill" Backer. He survives of the home.
She is survived by one son, Dale Backer of Fulton; two daughters, Vicki McDaniel of Fulton and Carolyn Cave of Hadley, Mass. ; four grandchildren, Sara Backer, Laura Backer, Melissa McDaniel and John McDaniel; and one brother, Maurice Keller of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
Marge was a William Woods graduate. She worked as secretary to the Assistant Principal at Fulton High School from the late 1960's to the early 1980's. She ran the Autoworld Museum/Kingdom Expo for four years. She was a volunteer for "Meals On Wheels. " She was a member of the Garden Club, the Hospital Auxiliary, and friend of the Churchill Memorial & Library, a member of the Mid-MO Antique & Vintage Car Club, and a member of the Board of Associates, Fulton College Fund. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, at the First Presbyterian Church in Fulton with the Rev. John Barden officiating. Entombment will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund and the Churchill Memorial & Library.
