KEMPKER
Mr. Bernard August Kempker, age 78 years, of Wardsville, MO, died Monday, December 22, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Kempker was born April 19, 1925, at Folk, MO, the son of John and Mary Feltrop Kempker, both deceased. He was married on August 13, 1975, at  Jefferson City, MO, to Barbara Dooley Rollins, who survives at the home.
A life-long resident of the Central Missouri area, Mr. Kempker attended school in Folk, MO. For many years, Mr. Kempker was employed as an automobile mechanic. Later, he owned and operated Blackwell's Garage for many years until his retirement in 1987.
He was a member of the St. Stanislaus Church in Wardsville, MO, and he was a faithful supporter of the Perpetual Adoration. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a wonderful Christian man.
Other survivors include one daughter: Pamela Joyce Rost and her husband David of  Jefferson City, MO; two step-sons: Steven Wayne Rollins and his wife Nancy of  Jefferson City, MO, and Gregory Wayne Rollins and his wife Cindy, of  Jefferson City, MO; two step daughters: LeAnn Korsmeyer and her husband Stephen of Wardsville, MO, and Staci Fowler of Wardsville, MO; two brothers: Harold Kempker and his wife Marie of  Jefferson City, MO, and Donald Kempker and his wife Claire of Taos, MO; one sister: Mary Ann Christensen and her husband Ted of Phoenix, Arizona; and five grandsons; four granddaughters; and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Rosalie Siebeneck and Henrietta Nussback and one step-son: Van William Rollins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2003, at the St. Stanislaus Church with the Reverend Gregory Meystrik officiating. Interment will be at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Wardsville, MO. Friends may call at the St. Stanislaus Church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service to be conducted at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Stanislaus Church or the Samaritan Center. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

ROBBINS
Dr. Katheryn Smith Robbins, 35, California, MO died Saturday, December 20, 2003 at St. Mary's Health Center in  Jefferson City, MO.
She was born June 19, 1968 in Nevada, MO the daughter of Gene and Lucille Timber Smith, her mother preceded her in death and her father survives of Nevada, MO. She was married August 9, 1992 in Nevada, MO to Thomas F. Robbins, who survives of the home. She was a Professor of Sociology at the University Of Missouri in Columbia, MO.
She graduated from Nevada High School in 1986, received her B. S. from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg in 1990; her Masters from the University of Wyoming in 1992 and her Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1997.
Survivors also include: one daughter, Katheryn Jane (Kate) Robbins and one son, William Thomas Robbins, both of the home; three brothers, Dennis Smith of Chattanooga, TN, Kenneth Smith of Tyler, TX and Mike Smith of Fremont, CA; her maternal grandmother Irene Hackney, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO. Officiating will be Rev. Ken Mathes. Visitation will be 12-2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO. Memorials may be made to a Scholarship Fund-In memory of Dr. Katheryn Smith Robbins, co Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 South Oak Street, California, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO.

HAYES
Larry D. Hayes, 54 of Eldon, died December 21, 2003, at his home.
He was born in Lebanon on July 15, 1949. On November 29, 2000, in California, MO, he was married to Linda Rose Hodge, who survives at the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Gypsy Hayes of Beaumont, Texas ; two stepdaughters, Courtney Strawther of Mauriceville, Texas , and Tina Cain of Eldon; one grandson, Cash Cain of Eldon, four brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, at Bibleway Church in Eldon. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Larry Hayes Memorial Fund.

PUCKETT
Luther Mark Puckett, 82, of  Jefferson City died Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at his home.
He was born October 12, 1921 in Webb City, Missouri, the son of Charles E. and Lula V. (Rhine) Puckett, who preceded him in death. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1938 in Long Beach, California, and served as a Medical Corpsman until his honorable discharge in 1945.
He was married to Josephine Peale on June 1, 1941, who preceded him in death. Three daughters were born to this union, Jacquelyn Lee Fitzgerald of the state of  Louisiana, Barbara Jo Bailie (husband John) of  Jefferson City, and Rebecca Sue DeLong (husband Leon) of  Jefferson City.
He was general parts manager for R. D. Nesen Oldsmobile/ Cadillac for 37 years in Oxnard and Thousand Oaks, California.
He married Betty Ayers Wolfenbarger in 1968 who survives at the home, and a stepdaughter, Jo Ann Wolfenbarger Carranza of Oxnard, California. In June 1991, Luther and Betty moved from Camarillo, California to  Jefferson City.
Other survivors include six grandchildren, five step grandchildren, four great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law: Gladys Peale Boothe of Columbia, Missouri; Margarette Peale Coker of Garden Grove, California; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Peale of Lake Isabella, California. He was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother, two half brothers and a stepdaughter, Georgia Brown.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2003 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. John Hobratschk and Rev. Dr. Jerome Brownlee officiating. His body has been donated to the University of Missouri - Columbia, School of Medicine.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Missouri River Hospice, or the Hemophilia Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main, 636-3838.

HODGE
Judy Jane Hodge, 47, St. Anthony, died Nov. 25, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 6, 1954, in Blairs Creek, a daughter of Clifford and Martha Chitwood Hart. Her mother survives in Ellington. She was married Aug. 24, 1973, in Van Cleve, to Stanley "Bud" Hodge, who survives at the home.
She worked for Kraml Wood Products, near Iberia, and for Langenberg Hat Factory, St. Elizabeth.
Other survivors include: two sons, Ronnie Hodge and Clifford Hodge, both of St. Anthony; three daughters, Jeannie Stone, Ulman, and April Hodge and Melanie Hodge, both of St. Anthony; three sisters, Dot Freeze and Ann Martin, both of Licking, and Jo Vinson, Ellington; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Dake Cemetery, near St. Anthony.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Judy Hodge Memorial Fund.

JENKINS
Kenneth E. Jenkins, age 69, of Eldon, MO, died Monday, December 29, 2003, at Eldon, MO.
He was born June 30, 1934, at Bagnell, MO, to Tandy and Bonita Jenkins. He was married August 18, 1961, to Wanda DeRossett.
He graduated from School Coats, Kansas; was a Veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Korea where he received several awards for excellence.
Survivors include his wife: Wanda Jenkins of the home; two sisters: Judy McDaniel of Springfield, MO, and Carol Lilly of McCaysville, GA; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
The body has been cremated and a memorial service and interment will take place at a later date.

CONELLEY
Harold Glen Conelley, 83, of  Jefferson City, died Monday, December 29, 2003, at the  Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
He was born June 2, 1920, in Barnsdall,  Oklahoma, a son of Melvin B. and Rebecca P. Sanders Conelley. He was a graduate of Dupo High School in Dupo, Illinois and from Parks College in Cahokia, Illinois. Harold was married January 31, 1946, in  Jefferson City, to Mae L. Schuricht, who survives at the home.
Harold was a Gauger Operator for Phillips Pipeline from 1950 until his retirement in 1982. He was a veteran of the United States Navy from 1941 - 1953, where he served his country in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He served in ten major battles. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Laymen's League, the American Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 5, and the International Union of Operating Engineers. Harold was also a life member of the U. S. S. Colorado.
He is also survived by his daughter, Sandra Kay Thompson of  Jefferson City; one granddaughter, Sherri Lynn Coats of  Jefferson City; one great-granddaughter, Hunter Cristine Ferguson of  Jefferson City and one great-grandson, Tanner James Coats of  Jefferson City.
Friends will be received from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2004, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Dr. Jerome Brownlee and Rev. John Hobratschk officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 803 Swifts Highway;  Jefferson City, MO 65109 or to Community Hospices of America, 628 East High Street;  Jefferson City, MO 65101. Arrangements are under the direction of the HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel, 2613 West Main Street; 636-3838.

KISO
John Lyle Kiso, age 65, of  Jefferson City, MO, formerly of Osage County, MO, died Saturday, January 3, 2004 at his residence.
He was born August 24, 1938 in Hope, MO, the son of John William & Mary Pearl (Stock) Kiso, both deceased. He was married June 11, 1960 at the  Oklahoma Church of Christ, Osage County, MO to Bonnie A. Walling, who survives at the home.
Mr. Kiso had been a lifelong resident of Osage County, MO. Prior to moving to  Jefferson City, MO. He graduated from high school in Linn, MO and had served in the United States Marine Corp. He was employed with the Missouri Highway Dept. prior to his employment at the Mt. Sterling Oil Company, where he was employed for several years prior to his retirement in January of 2000.
He was a member of the Capital City Christian Church,  Jefferson City, MO; and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his wife, Bonnie, other survivors include: two sons, John Kiso and wife, Tracy of St. Louis, MO, Christopher Kiso and wife, Dawn of Mt. Sterling, MO; three daughters, Lorie Kiso of Eldon, MO, Mary Kiso of St. Petersburg, FL and Amy K. Kiso-Bledsoe and husband, Will of Linn, MO; four grandchildren, Braxton Bledsoe, Garrett Bledsoe, Zachariah Bledsoe and Alaina Bledsoe; two sisters, Geraldine Branson of Linn, MO and Lila Mae Brinkman of Morrison, MO; one brother, Eugene Kiso of Chamois, MO.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at the Morton Funeral Home, Linn, MO. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at the Capital City Christian Church, 1512 Swifts Hwy.,  Jefferson City, MO with the Rev. Gary Baker officiating. Interment will follow at the  Oklahoma Church of Christ Cemetery, Osage County, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Capital City Christian Church Building Fund, 1512 Swifts Hwy.,  Jefferson City, MO 65109. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morton Funeral Home, Linn, MO.

CUSICK
Erica Jan (Gosman) Cusick Ph. D., 51, of  Jefferson City, died Thursday, December 25, 2003, at her home.
She was born January 20, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas, a daughter of Albert and Marguerite Gosman. She was married on May 27, 1995, to Thomas E. Cusick, who survives at the home.
Erica earned her doctorate in sociology from Vanderbilt University and her master's degree from Lincoln University. She was a excellent activist and lobbyist.
She is also survived by her mother: Marguerite Gosman of Lee's Summit, Missouri; one sister: Stephanie Snyder, M. D. of Lee's Summit, Missouri and two step-daughters: Katrina Nicole Cusick and Christine Michelle Cusick, both of  Jefferson City.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at New Horizons Community Support Services. Expressions of sympathy may be made to New Horizons Community Support Services Inc., 2013 William Street;  Jefferson City, Missouri 65109. Arrangements are under the direction of the HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel, 2613 West Main Street, 636-3838.

DAWSON
Merle James Dawson, age 52, of Russellville, MO, died Sunday, December 28, 2003 at St. Mary's Health Center,  Jefferson City.
He was born March 3, 1951 at Eugene, MO a son of James and Pauline Etter Dawson who survive. He was married to Sandra Wright who survives at the home.
Mr. Dawson was a graduate of the Eugene High School and member of the Eugene Christian Church. He was employed with Command Web Printing for 7 years in  Jefferson City.
He is also survived by 1 son: Corey Dawson, Russellville, MO; 2 daughters: Brandy Williams,  Jefferson City and Anna Dawson, Columbia, MO; 1 brother: Tim Dawson,  Jefferson City; 1 sister: Darla Rutledge, Eugene, MO and 6 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday December 30, 2003 at Weber & Sons Funeral Home, Russellville from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Weber & Sons Chapel, Russellville, MO with Rev. Jerry Kilson officiating. Burial will be in Eugene Cemetery, Eugene.
Memorials are suggested to the Eugene Cemetery.

TURPIN
Kathryn Elizabeth Turpin, age 80, of Columbus, Mississippi, died Monday, January 5, 2004 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi.
She was a former resident of the Barnett/Eldon area. Mrs. Turpin was born November 19, 1923 in Springfield, MO, the daughter of the late Claude F. and Anna Downing Whittaker. She was a member of the Busby Church of God in Loretta, TN. She was active in church work and volunteered in nursing homes.
Survivors include her husband, Ross J. Turpin of Columbus, MS; 2 daughters, Anna T. Potter and husband Jerry of Columbus, MS, Helen Coleman and husband Mike of Cummings, GA; 1 son, Donald Turpin and wife Irene of Charlotte, NC; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Charles Robert Whittaker of Lawrenceburg, TN and Wayne Whittaker of Topeka, KS; 3 sisters, Joan Carter of Grenada, MS, Barbara Coddington of Independence, KS and Patricia Hamilton of Dracut, MA.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7 at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Columbus, MS. Burial was in the New Salem Church of God Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.

BEERS
Troy "Dwayne" Beers, age 32, of Linn, MO, died Sunday, December 28, 2003 at his Linn residence.
He was born January 8, 1971 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Troy G. and Judi A. (Kramer) Beers, who both survive in Linn, MO.
A lifelong Linn resident, Dwayne was a 1989 graduate of the Linn High School. He was employed at Elsivier Sciences in Linn, MO and Long John Silvers Restaurant in  Jefferson City, MO. He attended the Capital City Christian Church West,  Jefferson City, MO. Dwayne was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He loved to fish and enjoyed his love for Ford Mustangs. He was a family man.
Survivors include: his fiance, Christy Muir of the home, one daughter, Kaylee Marie Beers of the home; one stepson, Robert D. Muir of the home; maternal grandmother, Verda Isgrigg of Sullivan, MO; three brothers, Travis Beers and Todd Beers, both of Linn, MO and Trent Beers of  Jefferson City, MO. He was preceded in death by one son, Ryan J. Beers.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, MO. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 1, 2004 at Morton Chapel, Linn, MO with the Rev. Glenn R. Sparks officiating. Interment will be in the Boss Cemetery, Boss, MO.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kaylee Marie Beers Trust Fund c/o Morton Funeral Home, P. O. Box 259, Linn, MO 65051.
