Mr. Jack C. “Six Pack” Pierce, age 73 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at his home.
Jack was born December 15, 1936 in Gideon, Mo., the third child and second son of Dick and Vitice Bailey Pierce. He was married on June 5, 1976 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to Juanita “Nita” Higgins. Jack graduated from Gideon High School in 1955 and signed a professional baseball contract with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played professional baseball in the summer months and attended college at Southeast Missouri State University during the winters from 1955 until 1960. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1960 with a B. S. in Education. He traveled for Wilson Sporting Goods from 1960 until 1965 and officiated both high school and college basketball games. He was employed by the State of Missouri in various positions. He completed work on his Masters in Public Administration in 1992. He retired from the State of Missouri in 1992.
In 1993, he became a lobbyist until retirement in 2007. Jack was still lobbying for the Missouri Sheriffs Retirement System and was appointed to the LAGERS board as a citizen trustee in 2008. In 1998, he was awarded the first public pension achievement award from the Missouri Assn. of Public Employees Retirement Systems.
An avid golfer, Jack was a member of the  Jefferson City Country Club where he had two hole-in-ones
Survivors include: his wife of thirty-four years, Juanita “Nita” Pierce; three sons, Chuck Pierce and his wife Denise of  Jefferson City, Mo., Hank Pierce and his wife Lori of Rogers, Arkansas, and David Meyer and his wife Le Ann of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; three daughters, Cyndi Bloomer and her husband Larry of  Jefferson City, Mo., Connie Henley and her husband Ken of  Jefferson City, Mo., and Dawn Keating of Overland Park, Kansas; one sister, Kaye Cronan and her husband Bob of Malden, MO. ; twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, W. R. Pierce, Jr., and one sister, Hattie Ellen Bodine and one daughter, Becky Jackson on May 16, 2010.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Tuesday.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Compassus.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. Roy Berryman “Budge” Truesdale, age 63 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at his home after an extended illness. Budge was born January 1, 1947 in  Jefferson City, Mo. at St. Mary’s Hospital, and was the first child born in Cole County that year. He was the son of Ross R. and Marion Henwood Truesdale, who preceded him in death. He was married on November 25, 1972 in Gary, Indiana to Roberta R. Wheeler who preceded him in death on May 19, 2004. Budge was a 1965 graduate of  Jefferson City High School and a 1984 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in business administration. He was a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honors Fraternity at the university. He was employed with the Missouri Dept. of Revenue from 1968 until 1972.
Budge served in the United States Marine Corps from 1972 until 1978 and was stationed aboard the USS Forrestal from 1975 until 1976 as an F-4 Phantom Radar Intercept Officer. He also served in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1992, and was honorably discharged as a Lt. Col. in 1996.
He was employed with the Missouri Dept. of Corrections from 2008 until ill health forced his retirement in August, 2009. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and the Train Collectors Assn. An avid outdoorsman, Budge enjoyed turkey hunting, deer hunting, and fishing. He became an Eagle Scout with Troop 2 in 1962. He was also an animal lover.
Survivors include: two daughters, Major Christina Anne Truesdale, D. V. M., U. S. Army of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and Jennifer Lynn Truesdale of Columbia, Mo. ; and one brother, Bruce Henwood Truesdale.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Saturday, June 12, 2010.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 12, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Mark Dumas and the Reverend Chris Dumas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and the  Jefferson City Humane Society.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Donna Wiedenmeyer Coon, age 81 years, of  Jefferson City, MO., died Monday, June 7, 2010 at St. Marys Health Center.
Donna was born February 13, 1929 in Urness Township, Minnesota the daughter of Andrew and Emma Thorson Urness. She was married in 1950 in Brandon, Minnesota to Weedy Wiedenmeyer who preceded her in death on July 27, 1971. On January 14, 1978 in  Jefferson City, MO., she married Charles Coon. Donna attended school in Urness Township, Minnesota and later moved to Minneapolis to work as a beautician. A homemaker and resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1967, Donna had been employed in sales with Ramada Inn, Jacques Clothing Store, Saffee’s, and Roth’s Clothing Store.
She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church; a member of the X Club; a member of the Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003; a member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5, and a Lioness with the Host Lions Club.
Donna was widowed at a young age and showed strength and courage in raising four children a trait she displayed her entire life. She enjoyed time with family and friends particularly at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Survivors: her husband of thirty-two years, Charles Coon; seven children, Rhonda Chiles and her husband Darrell of Overland Park, Kansas, Heidi Marley of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jay Wiedenmeyer and his wife Peggy of Lenexa, Kansas, Todd Wiedenmeyer and his wife Susan of Olathe, Kansas, Mitchell Coon of Blue Springs, Mo., Charles David Coon of Branson, Mo., and Mark Coon and his wife Cathy of Independence, MO. ; three sisters, Elaine Martin and her husband Bob of Alexandria, Minnesota and Joann Kildow and her husband Greg of Seattle, Washington , and Arlou Hyatt and her husband Hank of Alexandria, Minnesota; two sisters-in-law, Jean Urness of St. Cloud, Minnesota and Connie Urness of Minneapolis, Minnesota; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, two brothers, Harlan Urness and Virgil Urness, and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Wednesday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with the Reverend Scott Musselman officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. David E. Presley, age 79 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Adams Street Place Nursing Center. David was born June 20, 1930 in Muskogee,  Oklahoma the son of George R. and Ruby Cornelius Presley. He was married on June 20, 1986 in  Jefferson City, MO. to Elaine Elliott Waggoner. A resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1962, David was a graduate of Parsons High School and Parsons Junior College, Parsons, Kansas. He was employed with the General Adjustment Bureau from 1962 until 1967 and with Central Bank from 1967 until 1990. He was employed with Naught - Naught Insurance Agency from 1990 until his retirement in 1995.
David was a member of the First United Methodist Church; a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie, 2693; and a member of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club where he had three holes-in-one.
He pitched professional baseball in Texas in 1950 with the Washington Senators farm team. An avid bowler for fifty-five years, he was state champion in 1953, 1954, and 1956. He also coached youth baseball with the Pee-Wee league, Babe Ruth League, American Legion, and Ban Johnson.
Survivors include: his wife, Elaine Presley; one son, Jeff Presley of Columbia, MO., three daughters, Brenda Record and her husband Doug of  Jefferson City, MO., Paula Gilmore and her husband Larry of  Jefferson City, Mo, and Ann Distler and her husband Mike of  Jefferson City, Mo., one sister, Wilda Lawhorn and her husband Dabney of Kansas City, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Patricia Stock Murphy, Jeremiah Majersky, Calvin Stock and his wife Lisa, Ryan Presley, Clinton Distler, Katherine Presley, and Cole Distler; and two great grandchildren, Hailey and Shawn Stock.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Carolyn Ryan Presley in 1984.
Visitation will be at the First United Methodist Church from 10:30 until 12:30 Thursday, June 17, 2010.
A memorial service will be conducted at 12:30 PM Thursday at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Mark Dumas officiating. Private graveside services and interment will be conducted at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church Food Pantry or Hospice Compassus. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Ms. Anita M. Scott, age 83 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at her home.
She was born December 17, 1926 in  Jefferson City, Mo. the daughter of Emanuel and Ella Hader Scott. A lifelong resident of the  Jefferson City area, Anita attended  Jefferson City Public Schools. She was employed as the manager with Lee Optical for several years until her retirement. Anita was a member of the First Church of God.
She was an angel collector and enjoyed sharing them with family and friends.
Survivors include: one sister, Martha M. Merrill of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; two brothers, Ralph Scott and his wife Lucille of  Jefferson City, Mo. and Herbert Scott and his wife Wanda of Columbia, Mo. ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Revice Scott, Virgil Scott and Marvin Scott and two sisters, Ruby Wright and Helen Powell.
Visitation will be at the First Church of God, 1614 Southwest Blvd., from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Wednesday.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the First Church of God with the Reverend Rob Kespelher officiating. Private graveside services and interment will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Missouri River Hospice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Dean P. Johnson, age 97 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Adams Street Place Nursing Center.
Dean was born October 16, 1912 in Sullivan County, Mo., the daughter of Thomas D. and Mary R. Reger Purdy. She was married on June 5, 1936 in Sullivan County, Mo. to Kenneth K. Johnson who preceded her in death on September 28, 1993. She was a graduate of Harris High School, Harris, Mo. and attended Kirksville State Teachers College. She graduated from Lincoln University with a degree in education. A resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1936, Dean was a homemaker. After her children were in school, she was a teacher with the  Jefferson City Public Schools, Cedar City Schools, and retired from the New Bloomfield Schools.
Dean enjoyed gardening, reading, bird watching, quilting and family geneology. Survivors include: two daughters, Sidney A. Martin and her husband James of Kansas City, Mo. and Virginia Johnson of Kansas City, Mo. ; two sons, F. Douglas Johnson of Prescott, Arizona and Whitman W. Johnson and his wife Linda of Santa Fe, New Mexico; two grandchildren, Rachel Martin of Kansas City, Mo., and Hannah Humphrey and her husband Nick of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; three great grandchildren, Samuel Deskin, Ada Humphrey, and Max Humphrey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Garrett K. Johnson and Stephen D. Johnson, and one grandchild, Samuel Martin.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 2:00 until 3:30 PM with sharing of memories from 3:30 until 4:00 PM Saturday, July 24, 2010.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Camp Ground Church and Cemetery Inc.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. John M. Scott, III, age 63 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at his home.
He was born November 21, 1946 in Johnson City, Tennessee the son of John M., Jr. and Mary H. Jackson. He was married on June 10, 1972 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to Brenda K. Putnam. A resident of the  Jefferson City area for the past thirty-eight years, John was a 1965 graduate of Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tennessee
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 until 1971. John was employed with Loast and Stanley Consulting Engineers in Kingsport, Tennessee, Nuclear Fuel Service in Erwin, Tennessee, North Electric Company in Galion, Ohio. In  Jefferson City, he was employed with Capital City Telephone, United Telephone, Sprint, and Embarq until his retirement in November, 2007.
He was a member of the Leesburg Presbyterian Church in Leesburg, Tennessee, a member of the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers Union, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Community Relations Team, the Political Action Committee, a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, and he supported numerous other charitable organizations.
John enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and taking care of others.
Survivors: his wife of thirty-eight years, Brenda Scott; two sons, John M. Scott, IV and his wife Cindy of Monroe, North Carolina and Travers P. Scott and his wife Candace of Holts Summit, Mo. ; two daughters, Janisha D. Warnert and her husband Scott of Johnson City, Tennessee and Melissa R. Hartness and her husband Tim of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; one sister, Patricia A. MacLean and her husband Dr. Stuart of Indian Trail, North Carolina; one brother, James Michael Scott of Johnson City, Tennessee; Grandchildren, Jeremy Aldridge, Tristan, Melissa, and Jessica Warnert, Tyler, Kaitlyn and Krista Scott, Kaylie Morgan Hartness and Joseph Michael Hartness, and Theryn Olivia Scott; two sisters-in-law, Glenda Putnam and Gayle Ortmeyer of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; a former sister-in-law, Carol Scott of Johnson City, Tennessee; one great grandchild and three step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his father and mother-in law, Ray and Ruby Hilgert Putnam.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 1:00 until 2:30 PM Sunday. A celebration of life will be conducted at 2:30 PM Sunday, June 20, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with military honors following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Hospice Compassus of  Jefferson City or the American Cancer Society.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Gertrude C. “Trudy” Hanauer, age 91 years, of Ashland, MO., died Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Ashland Health Care Center.
Trudy was born May 18, 1919 in Kansas City, Mo. the daughter of Leroy A. and Viola F. Grace Castor. She was married on September 12, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida to Edward T. Hanauer who preceded her in death on July 24, 2002. A resident of the  Jefferson City area for the past forty years, Trudy graduated from East High School in Kansas City, Mo.
A homemaker, she had been employed as a waitress at Ramada Inn and as a corrections officer with the Missouri Dept. of Corrections . Trudy enjoyed crappie fishing and listening to music. She had a wonderful sense of humor.
Survivors include: two sons, Ed T. Hanauer and his wife Paula of California, Mo. and Mike Hanauer and his wife Sandy of Ashland, Mo. ; one daughter, Patty M. Kempker and her husband Roger of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; six grandchildren, Mike Kempker and his wife Amanda, Michelle Fischer and her husband Curtis, John Joseph Hanauer and his wife Kendra, Tammy Kilmer and her husband Justin, Eddie Hanauer, IV, and P. J. Hanauer; three great grandchildren, Morgan Mueller, Martin Kilmer, and Hayden Kilmer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and one son, John Joseph Hanauer.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Wednesday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel. Interment will be at the Centertown Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. Duane Gordon Rosser, age 91 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the Westphalia Hills Nursing Center.
He was born December 30, 1918 in McArthur, Ohio the son of James Edgar and Gladys Snook Rosser. He was married on October 4, 1942 in West Unity, Ohio to Ruth Eleanor Arnold. He graduated from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio with a degree in pharmacy.
Duane was a Pharmacist Mate in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre from 1942 until 1945. He was a resident of the Lexington, Kentucky area from 1948 until 2005.
Duane was a Pharmacist for Hart Drug Store in Evansville, Indiana from 1946 until 1948, then became the manager and pharmacist at the Hart Drug Store near the corner of Main and Lime St. from 1948 until 1980. He then worked for Begley’s and Rite Aid companies until 1999.
He was a Meals on Wheels coordinator and driver until 2005.
Survivors include: his wife of sixty-eight years, Eleanor; one son, Jim Rosser and his wife Zelma King of Red Valley, Arizona; one daughter, Marilyn Hofmann and her husband Jim of  Jefferson City, MO. ; four grandchildren, Tasha Blackburn and her husband Philip, Daren Hofmann and his wife Sarah, Ezra Rosser and his wife Elvia, and Saul Rosser; and four great grandchildren, Calum and Alena Blackburn, James Hofmann, and Mateo Rosser de Castro.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Rachel Rosser.
A service of thanksgiving for his life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Southern Hill United Methodist Church in Lexington, Kentucky, with a visitation from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church of  Jefferson City or the American Cancer Society.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
