Mr. David E. Evans, age 50 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at St. Mary’s Health Center.
He was born on May 3, 1960 in Kansas City, Mo. a son of Robert E. and Betty E. Nowlin Evans. Dave was married on October 15, 1998 in Columbia, Mo. to Linda Burkett who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Dave graduated high school and attended a technical college.
He was employed as a mechanic in the automotive industry, and was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Dave enjoyed working on cars, and spending time with his family and grandchildren to whom he would say; “I love you, God bless you. ”
Survivors include: his loving wife, Linda Evans; two sons, Nathaniel David Evans and his wife Steffani of  Jefferson City, Mo. and Matthew Eugene Evans of Columbia, Mo. ; three daughters, Melody Joy Evans and her husband Ben of  Jefferson City, Mo., Tiffany McCormack of  Jefferson City, Mo. and Martha Ann Ousley and her husband Michael of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; one brother, Steve Evans and his wife Joan of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; his father-in-law, Kenneth Burkett; one brother-in-law, Keith Burkett; three sisters-in-law, Diana Crowell, Teresa Caldwell and her husband Robert and Kathy Burkett; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul Evans.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 am Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the United Pentecostal Church with the Reverend Richard Ward officiating.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the David E. Evans Memorial Fund.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. Robert H. “Bob” Williams, age 74 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the Villa Marie Nursing Center.
Bob was born March 10,1936 in Pontiac, Illinois the son of Sterling and Josephine Williams. He was married on October 16, 1960 in Prairie City, Illinois to Janet L. Evans.
Bob graduated from Pontiac High School and attended the University of Illinois. He served in the United States Air Force as a radar operator during the Korean Conflict.
A resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1981, Bob was employed with the Missouri Dept. of Corrections retiring as a caseworker in May, 2001.
He was also co-owner of M. & W. Motors in Russellville which specialized in restoring foreign and classic sports cars. Survivors include: his wife of fifty years, Janet; one son, Stirling Evan Williams and his partner, Katrina Thomas of Columbia, Mo. ; two brothers, John Williams and his wife Betty of Minden, Nevada and Don Williams of Senatobia, Mississippi; one sister, Joan Hubbard of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Vic Williams, and one sister, Lois Eichenberger.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Tuesday.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with military honors following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Leta M. Kelly Martin Tinnin, age 78 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at St. Marys Health Center.
Leta was born October 28, 1931 in St. Louis, Mo. the daughter of Albert Francis “Red” and Nettie M. DeMoss Kelly. She was married on February 19, 1947 to Donald Hudson Martin who preceded her in death in 1978. She was married to N. E. “Gene” Tinnin from 1981 until 1994.
Leta attended Eugene schools and was a resident of Eldon and  Jefferson City. She was employed at Carps Department Store in Eldon, Crown Drug Store in  Jefferson City and retired from the Missouri National Guard Headquarters in 1986.
She was a national archery competition winner, enjoyed bingo, crocheting, camping, canoeing, attending Eastern Star activities but her most precious moments were with her family. Leta attended Concord Baptist Church, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Victoria Chapter No. 14 serving in several offices including Worthy Matron.
Survivors include: one son, Donald J. Martin of the home; five grandchildren, Peter Martin and his wife Terrie of  Jefferson City, Mo., Jennifer Boller and her husband Terrence of St. Charles, Mo., Amy Robins of  Jefferson City, Mo., Kimberly Howard and her husband Tim of Imperial, Mo., and Kyle Martin of Little Rock, Arkansas; six great grandchildren, Tori Robins, Ethan and Eric Boller, James and True Howard, and Brock Martin; one sister, Mary Lou Homfeldt; two nieces, Bobbie Lynn Crane and Jackie Vick and her husband Maurice all of St. Peters, Mo. ; and two great nieces, as well as two former daughters-in-law, Jane Oliver of Westphalia, Mo. and Lois Martin of St. Peters. Mo. ; and one special friend, Claudine Samsonoff of Austin, Texas .
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald; one son, Dennis Martin; a brother, James J. Kelly; an infant sister, Nellie Jean Kelly; her former husband Gene Tinnin; and a former daughter-in-law, Diane Martin-Yaworski.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Wednesday with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7:00 PM in the Freeman Chapel under the auspices of the Victoria Chapter No. 14.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM Thursday, July 22, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel. Interment will be at the Eugene Cemetery, Eugene, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Order of the Eastern Star, Victoria Chapter No. 14.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Margaret L. Crews, age 80 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, July 19, 2010 at the University of Missouri Hospital, Columbia, Mo.
Margaret was born March 13, 1930 in Southeast Missouri, the daughter of Robert E. and Susie Bell Martin Tetley. She was married on February 24, 1951 in Sikeston, Mo. to John J. Crews who preceded her in death on June 11, 1990. She was a 1947 graduate of Morehouse High School. She graduated from Lincoln University with a degree in education and from the University of Missouri at Columbia with a masters in education.
After attending secretarial school, she was employed as a secretary at several businesses. After receiving her degree in education, she taught in the business dept. of  Jefferson City High School for many years prior to her retirement in 1989. After retirement, she was employed as a legislative secretary for several years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church; the Delta Kappa Gamma, the University of Missouri Alumni Assn. ; the National Education Assn. ; and was active in the Capital Region Medical Center Partners.
Margaret played bridge and dominoes and was active in several bridge clubs. She was an avid reader and from her mother and grandmother, she learned to love to crochet, knit, embroider, cross stitch and quilt. She became passionate about quilting.
Margaret enjoyed life filled with various interests, travel, friends, and family.
Survivors include: Three daughters, Vicki Simpson and her husband Buzz of St. Louis, Mo. ; Terri Crews of Springfield, Mo. ; and Melinda Swedeen and her husband Audie of Florida; one brother, Martin L. Tetley and his wife Lucetria of St. Louis, Mo; four grandchildren, Kristen Jones, PR3 Brock Jones and his wife Crystle, Derek Jones, and Zachary Swedeen; one great grandson, Andrew; one sister-in-law, Shirley Tetley; and five nieces, one nephew, and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, and one brother, Robert E. Tetley in 1996.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Wednesday.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 22, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Chris Dumas officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church Foundation or the charity of their choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. Paul E. Corl, III, age 56 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo. passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at his home.
Paul was born on July 6, 1954 in  Jefferson City, Mo. the son of Paul Eugene “Gene” Jr. and Veronica M. “Fronie” Kampeter Corl.
A resident of  Jefferson City for the majority of his life, Paul was a 1972 graduate of  Jefferson City High School.
He served in the United States Navy from 1979 until 1982 with the air antisubmarine squadron 30 on the USS Forrestal.
After his service with the Navy, he worked in Kansas City, Mo. and Florida installing cable television until he returned to  Jefferson City in 1989.
Paul loved music and being in the outdoors, especially fishing, and camping. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and riding his Harley Davidson Chopper around the United States. Survivors include: his parents, Fronie and Gene Corl of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; two sisters, Geana Godsy and her husband Martin and Carla Trower and her husband Stephen, both of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; six nieces and nephews, Nathan Godsy and his wife Misty, Sasha Kremer and her husband Steven, Andy Godsy, Samatha Davis and her husband Nathan, Alexandria Trower, and Jonathan Trower; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ben Corl, on August 5, 1990.
Private funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, July 25, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel. Private graveside services and interment with full military honors will be conducted on Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. Oliver G. Hein, age 90 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, July 21, 2010 at the Capital Region Medical Center.
Oliver was born May 6, 1920 in St. Louis, Mo. the son of Albert G. and Esther Panhorst Hein.
He was a life long resident of the St. Louis area, Oliver was a 1938 graduate of Beaumont High School. After high school, he served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. He was an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electricians in St. Louis for many years prior to his retirement in 1982. He has been a resident of the  Jefferson City area since May, 2007. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in  Jefferson City, Mo. and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #1, St. Louis.
Survivors include: one brother, Roland A. Hein of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; two cousins, Marilyn Sommerer of  Jefferson City, Mo. and Joan Bargmann of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; and he was Godfather to David Sommerer of  Jefferson City, Mo. and Darlene Prickett of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Albert Hein on January 22, 1955 and Esther Hein on April 25, 1978.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Monday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, July 26, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend John Hobratschk officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday at the Friedens Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo. with the Reverend Bryant Clancy officiating.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. Ronald Gustave Henry Schollmeyer, age 62 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Friday, July 23, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ronnie was born August 28, 1947 in  Jefferson City, Mo. the son of Albert F. and Ethel M. Kreter Schollmeyer. He was married on August 23, 1969 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to Susan Wade.
A life long resident of the  Jefferson City area, Ronnie was a 1965 graduate of  Jefferson City High School. After high school, he was drafted in the United States Army and did a tour of duty with the military police in Vietnam from 1967 until 1968. Upon returning to  Jefferson City, he was employed with Midwest Foundation, G. & H. Electric, and owned and operated Capital City Electric and Schollmeyer Electric. Ronnie was a life member and past commander of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5; a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2693. Ronnie loved being with his family at the Lake of the Ozarks and taking the grandkids for rides on the jet ski, pontoon, or golf cart. He had been a softball player and bowler, sponsoring many bowling teams throughout the years. He loved horses, deer hunting, and the outdoors.
Survivors include: one son, Eric Wade Schollmeyer and his wife Angie of Holts Summit, Mo. ; one daughter, Holly Marie Schollmeyer-Cort and Ray Conway of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; his mother, Ethel Schollmeyer of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; one brother, Larry “Smiley” Schollmeyer of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; three grandchildren, Kaleb Wade Schollmeyer, Kameron Lee Schollmeyer, and Kalley Dawn Schollmeyer. He was looking forward to the birth of a grandson, Lucas Henry Conway.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Schollmeyer in March, 1974.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Monday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 27, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be conducted at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Schollmeyer Grandchildren Educational Fund or the Missouri River Hospice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Miss Dorothy J. Thornberry, age 91 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Capital Region Medical Center.
Dorothy was born June 16, 1919 in  Jefferson City, Mo. the daughter of Thomas E. and Lillie H. Pennington Thornberry.
A lifelong resident of the  Jefferson City area, Dorothy attended  Jefferson City Public Schools. She was employed with the Oberman Manufacturing Company for several years and later with Capital Auto Parts for many years until her retirement.
She was a charter member of Memorial Baptist Church and the  Jefferson City Women’s Bowling Assn. In her younger years, Dorothy played softball for the Bob Burks team and later Coca-Cola. She was an active bowler for many years and was an avid cross-stitcher.
Survivors include: her sister, Margaret Klug of  Jefferson City, Mo. and Margaret’s daughters, Sandra Spencer of Springdale, Arkansas and Cindy Young of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and one sister.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Thursday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 29, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Mike Rapp officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Memorial Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
