Mrs. Martha M. Sanning, age 80 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at her home.
She was born July 23, 1930 in St. Elizabeth, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Sophia Brenneke Lueckenhoff. She was married on October 13, 1951 in St. Elizabeth, Mo. to Norman G. Sanning who preceded her in death on November 1, 2005.
A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Martha attended school in St. Elizabeth.
A homemaker, Martha and Norman owned and operated Sanning Appliance Company for forty-one years until her retirement in 1996.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was a volunteer with the Samaritan Center, Meals on Wheels, and at St. Mary’s Health Center. Martha enjoyed being with her family and playing cards.
Survivors include: one daughter, Patricia Lyles and her husband Mike of Shawnee, Kansas; two sons, Donnie Sanning and his former wife, C. DeAnn of Tuscumbia, Mo. and Dave Sanning and his wife Elizabeth of Gladstone, Illinois; two brothers, Al Lueckenhoff and his wife Nordelle of  Jefferson City, Mo. and James Lueckenhoff and his wife Betty of St. Elizabeth, Mo. ; two sisters, Alma Blomberg of St. Anthony, Mo. and Marie Dwight of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Lyles Warden and her husband, Bo, Erin Lyles Evans and her husband Sean, Drew Sanning, Sarah Sanning Crowell and her husband Matt, Jessica Sanning Billingsley and her husband Donny, Jacob Sanning, and Samuel Sanning; six great grandchildren, Ethan Warden, Dalton Warden, Cole Evans, John Patrick Evans, Taylor Billingsley and Hayden Billingsley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Joe Lueckenhoff, Herman Lueckenhoff, and Robert Lueckenhoff, and two sisters, Martina Morff and Genevieve Kimball.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday with a prayer service to be conducted at 4:30 PM in the Freeman Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday, July 30, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Church with Monsignor David Cox officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the SSM Hospice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Clara A. Hug, age 84 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born December 5, 1925 in St. Louis, Mo. the daughter of Henry and Anna Blum Breidenbach. She was married on December 31, 1954 in St. Louis, Mo. to Donald E. Hug.
A resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1968, Clara was employed as a bookbinder at Von Hoffman, Inc. for twenty years until her retirement in 1989.
Clara enjoyed fishing and quilting.
Survivors include: her husband Donald E. Hug; one daughter, Donna Parish and her husband Bill of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; one sister, Henrietta Edmonds of Licking, Mo. ; one granddaughter, Lisa Yarberry and her husband Jeremy of Garden City, Kansas; and one great granddaughter, Renee Yarberry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother.
A private family service will be conducted at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. Richard Cameron Carbee, age 90 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Westphalia Hills.
He was born on October 31, 1919 in Lisbon, Iowa the son of Clarence W. and Mary E. Cameron Carbee. He was married on July 15, 1944 at the Cornell College Chapel to Margaret A. “Peg” Anderson.
He graduated from Lisbon High School, Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and the University of Iowa with a Master’s Degree in History.
Dick served in the United States Army in the Chemical Warfare Service during World War II.
He was President of Best Oil Company in Lisbon, Iowa and later was a teacher at Lisbon High School. After retiring in 1977, he moved to  Jefferson City where he was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, and a teacher of the Harmony Sunday School Class.
He was a fifty year member and Past Master of the Benjamin Franklin Lodge A. F. & a.m., a member and past Commander of the Cyclops Post 109 of the American Legion, and in retirement he was a volunteer at the Capital Region Medical Center in the Lifeline program, and a volunteer with the First United Methodist Church.
Dick enjoyed painting pictures, writing stories, gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include: his wife of sixty-six years, Margaret “Peg” Carbee of Westphalia Hills; one son, John Carbee and his wife Julie of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan,; one daughter, Ann Jones and her husband Neal of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 3, 2010 with a Masonic Service to be conducted at 9:30 AM in the Freeman Chapel under the auspices of the  Jefferson Lodge No. 43, A. F. & a.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Mark Dumas officiating. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church or Hospice Compassus.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Alverta C. “Nanna” Lane Whitesides, age 103 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at her home.
She was born November 15, 1906 in Bunceton, Mo. the daughter of Fredrick and Mattie Dora Wohlbeck Klein. She was married on March 14, 1927 in Versailles, Mo. to Lester Lane who preceded her in death in March, 1941. On January 23, 1943 in Ashland, Mo., she married Floyd Whitesides who preceded her in death on October 7, 1946. A resident of the  Jefferson City area for the past fifty-four years, Alverta was employed with Sunlight Laundry and with Capitol Printing Company from 1955 until her retirement in 1992.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Alverta enjoyed tole and ceramic painting. She also helped with the First Presbyterian Church Newsletter bi-monthly mailing and with the Samaritan Center Newsletter mailing until the age of 103. Survivors include: one daughter, Rose McMurtry of  Jefferson City, Mo; one granddaughter, Doris Eggers and her husband David of Florissant, Mo; one sister, Bernice Howard of Eldon, Mo. ; and one sister-in-law, Wanda Klein of Versailles, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, five sisters, and four brothers.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon Saturday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Saturday, July 31, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend David Henry officiating. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery. Mrs. Lillian L. Jordan, age 82 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the University Hospital, Columbia, Mo.
Lillian was born August 22, 1927 in  Jefferson City, Mo. the daughter of Hugo and Marie Schupp Loeffler. She was married on December 28, 1946 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to R. H. Jordan who preceded her in death on January 12, 2005. A lifelong resident of the  Jefferson City area, Lillian was a 1945 graduate of  Jefferson City High School. She was employed with the State of Missouri for several years and later was employed for over twenty years with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 833 retiring as the Office Manager.
Lillian was a member of the Central United Church of Christ, the Eleventh Circle, the Cultured Pearls, and was active with the Class of 1945. She was a volunteer at the Capital Region Medical Center and at the Senior Center at Capital Mall. Lillian enjoyed playing cards but most important was time spent with family.
Survivors include: four children, Linda Albertson and her husband Marshall of  Jefferson City, Mo., Debbie Vieth and her husband Gary of Holts Summit, Mo., Cherie Diemler and her husband Tim of  Jefferson City, MO., and Mark Jordan and his wife Jackie of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; eleven grandchildren, Danny and Trish Tellman, Michael and Jody Tellman, David and Shelly Finley, Eric and Amber Vieth, Isaiah, Levi, and Lance Albertson, Clayton and Brittany Jordan, Rachel Diemler and Makayla Jordan-Diemler; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and four sisters.
Visitation will be at the Central United Church of Christ from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Sunday, August 8, 2010.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Central United Church of Christ with the Reverend Dr. Stephen Buchholz officiating. Private entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Central United Church of Christ.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Richard Dean Robbins, age 75, of Wardsville, Mo. passed away on July 29, 2010.
Born September 15, 1934, Dean was the youngest of 6 children born to Mr. Francis Harrison “Frank” Robbins and Mrs. Wilma Melissa “Mae” (Smith) Robbins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Sarah Marie, Frank H., Dollie Mae (Andrla), Ralph Lee, and Eugene Everett.
Dean grew up and attended school in Glasco, Kansas, graduating from Glasco High in 1952. After high school he began his 43 year career with United Utilities and later with the United Telecommunications (merged with United Telephone System and later Sprint) retiring as a manager on April 1, 1995.
Dean lived his life in Kansas and Missouri, was a member of several civic organizations: Lions Club, Rotary Club, etc., was a lifetime member of the Pioneer Telephone Independent Association and the NRA. Dean had been a Deacon at his church and was on the Board of Directors of the Early Learning Center (a preschool started at his church).
He married Helen Ann Wilkey on July 2, 1955 in Minneapolis, Kansas. Celebrating more than 55 years of marriage, Dean and Helen had 5 children: Shelly Sue, Teresa Ann, Kathy Lynn, Bradley Dean, and Ralund Mark. Dean was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Shelly.
Dean left behind 5 grandchildren: Aaron Mikal Smith (son of Teresa), Sarah Kristine Reynolds (daughter of Shelly), Harrison Reid Boyer, Nathanael Rhys Boyer (sons of Kathy), Darby Renée Robbins, Aubrey Elizabeth Robbins (daughters of Brad) and 3 great-grandchildren: Shelly Elizabelle Huff, Lee Timothy Floyd (children of Sarah), and Ezra Kyle Smith (son of Aaron).
Dean was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed his family and the chaos they (sometimes) wrought. Dean’s favorite hobbies were done outside; he loved working in the yard, building new gardens for his wife, fishing, hunting, walking in the woods, and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and would “loaf” for hours talking with people.
Dean is a Christian and a member of the Community Christian Church, Disciples of Christ of  Jefferson City. He will be missed but his memory will be celebrated from 5:30 until 7:30 pm Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Community Christian Church, Disciples of Christ of  Jefferson City and at a private family graveside ceremony at Villisca City Cemetery in Villisca, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Melanoma Research Foundation, Community Christian Church, Disciples of Christ of  Jefferson City, or SSM Hospice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Linda A. Harms, age 67 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at her home.
She was born September 25, 1942 in Williamsburg, Virginia the daughter of Ford and Nan Yocum Feese. She was married on June 6, 1964 in Sullivan, Mo. to Derril Harms.
Linda graduated from Drury College in 1964 and in the early years taught school in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas. A long time resident of the  Jefferson City area, she worked as an Income Tax Preparer for H & R Block and later worked as a volunteer for AARP Tax Aid. Linda loved books and was an avid reader.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include: her husband, Derril Harms; her mother, Nan Feese of Sullivan, Mo. ; one son, Kurt Harms of Lee’s Summit, Mo. ; two grandsons, Cale and Reese Harms of Lee’s Summit, Mo. ; one brother, James Feese and his wife Darla of St. Albans, Mo. ; one niece, several nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by twin daughters, Carrie Lynn and Corry Lee Harms; her father, Ford Feese; and her sister, Mary Penberthy.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Monday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, August 2, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Daniel Hilty officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 1:30 PM Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Mitchellville Cemetery in Mitchellville, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Cal Fine, age 31 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital, Columbia, Mo. after a long, valiant battle with Crohn’s disease.
Cal was born November 28, 1978, in  Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Camden R. Fine and Jennifer A. Czarlinsky Fine Milne.
A life-long resident of the  Jefferson City area, Cal was a 1997 graduate of  Jefferson City High School. He attended Lincoln University and Central Missouri University.
Cal served in the United States Army from 2001 until 2004.
Cal loved playing basketball with the  Jefferson City AAU, the  Jefferson City Jays, and was a member of the United States Army basketball team. He also played Babe Ruth baseball. He loved listening to music and watching movies. Most importantly, Cal loved spending time with his children and his family and friends.
Survivors include: his mother and step-father, Jennifer and Erwin Milne of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; his father and step-mother, Camden and Debra Fine of McLean, Virginia; his wife, Corinn Herrigon Fine; his son, Henry Edward Hockaday Fine; his daughter, Sophia Cerese Veronica Fine; his step-son, Bruno Alessandro Puleo; four sisters, Elizabeth “Betsy” Dudenhoeffer and her husband Mark of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; Jordan Milne of  Jefferson City, Mo., Brendan Milne of  Jefferson City, Mo., and Abigail Fine of McLean, Virginia; and three nephews, Hayden, Benjamin and Jack.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Joanne Czarlinsky and Lee C. and Patricia Fine and his great-grandparents, Colonel E. I. “Mike” and Cerese Hockaday.
Visitation will be at the First United Methodist Church from 3:00 until 6:00 PM Monday, August 2, 2010.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 PM Monday at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Daniel Hilty officiating. Military honors will be conducted immediately following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Fine Children Educational Fund.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
