Mrs. Frances Lorraine Huston, age 94 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 at her home.
She was born May 24, 1916 in Brookfield, Mo. the daughter of Andrew H. and Lizzie Pearl Kennedy Farrar. She was married on August 21, 1951 to Paul Bryan Huston who preceded her in death on August 31, 1971.
Frances was a graduate of Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Mo. She was then employed with the Missouri Division of Employment Security in  Jefferson City in 1939. Following that she was employed with the United States Employment Service during World War II. For a short while, she and her husband operated a public accounting business. She was also employed by Pursley Motors, Central Missouri Motors, and Broom Auto Service in the accounting and tax profession.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in  Jefferson City, the Presbyterian Women’s organization, the Jane Randolph  Jefferson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the General Federated Capital City Woman’s Club.
She loved spending time with her daughter and always enjoyed sewing and traveling.
Survivors include: her daughter, Teresa Lynne Haab and husband Christian David Haab of New Orleans,  Louisiana, one niece, Norma Turner of Brookfield, Mo. ; three nephews, Clifford Ritchey of Kansas City, Mo., Michael Skain of Brazito, Mo., and John Skain of Germantown, Illinois; one great niece, four great nephews, two great great nieces, one great great nephew and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Lucile Ritchey; and one brother, Earl Farrar.
Visitation will be at the First Presbyterian Church from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday, October 1, 2010.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, October 1, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend David Henry officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Laclede Cemetery, Laclede, Mo.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders Assn.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Murel Deane Michelson Wollenberg, age 79 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Friday, October 1, 2010 at her home.
Deane was born December 7, 1930 in  Jefferson City, Mo. the daughter of Elias T. “Pete” and Myrtle Reinhardt Larkin. She was married on December 1, 1987 in Hawaii to James Wollenberg who preceded her in death on December 13, 2002.
A lifelong resident of the  Jefferson City area, Deane was a 1948 graduate of  Jefferson City High School.
She was employed by the state of Missouri for thirty-seven years retiring from the Missouri Committee on Legislative Research in 1987. Deane was a member of the First Christian Church and the Auxiliary of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5.
Survivors include: one daughter, Myrita Holtcamp of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; one granddaughter, Kelly Hohe and her husband Kenny of Cuba, Mo. ; two great grandchildren, Reese and Gibson Hohe; and two nephews, Michael Michelson and his wife Karen and Alan Larkin.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one daughter, Carla Sue Michelson.
Private graveside services and interment will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Shriners Childrens Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. or the charity of their choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth “Bettie” Gaines, age 87 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, October 4, 2010 at St. Josephs Bluffs.
Bettie was born November 6, 1922 in Marshfield, Mo. the daughter of Thomas C. and Emma Grieb Strong. She was married on February 4, 1941 in Los Angeles, California to Jack W. Gaines.
A longtime resident of the  Jefferson City area, Bettie was a 1941 graduate of  Jefferson City High School. A homemaker, Bettie was a lifelong member and deacon at the First Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Auxiliary of St. Mary’s Health Center.
She enjoyed gardening, animals, but most importantly, spending time with her family. Survivors include: her husband of sixty-nine years, Jack Gaines; one daughter, Nancy L. Jones and her husband Marvin of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; two sons, Greg Gaines and his wife Donna of Cameron, Mo. and Tim Gaines and his wife Cindy of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; one sister, Vivian Tharp of Warrensburg, Mo. ; nine grandchildren, Beth Ireland, Lori Vollink, Doug Salmons, Eric Sappington, Adam Sappington, Carrie Douglas, Scott Gaines, Linsey Snodgrass, and Audrey Gaines; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Ronda Salmons on December 31, 2004, and two brothers, James Strong and Lloyd “Bud” Strong.
Visitation will be at the First Presbyterian Church from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Thursday, October 7, 2010.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend David Henry officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Parkinson Disease Association or the  Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. Marvin H. McDaniel, age 88 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Capital Region Medical Center.
Marvin was born September 8, 1922 in  Jefferson City, Mo. the son of Boyd and Winnie Bedsworth McDaniel. He was married on February 9, 1944 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to Juanita Gregory. A lifelong resident of the  Jefferson City area, Marvin was a 1941 graduate of  Jefferson City High School. He attended the Chillicothe Business College, Chillicothe, Mo.
He served in the United States Army during World War II in Europe where he received a Purple Heart.
Marvin was employed as the Superintendent at the State and Federal Veterans Home in St. James, Mo. for eighteen years. He was then employed in public relations with Christian Northwest Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. Later, Marvin was a licensed nursing home administrator with several nursing homes until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge; a member of the Moolah Temple, St. Louis, Mo. ; a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; a member of the Disabled American Veterans; and a member of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5.
Marvin was a avid Cardinal baseball fan.
Survivors include: his wife of sixty-six years, Juanita McDaniel; one daughter, Kay Tudor of St. Charles, Mo. ; one grandson, John Kitchens and his wife Amy of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; one sister-in-law, Elva McDaniel of  Jefferson City, Mo; one brother-in-law, Elmer Gregory of Indiana; two great grandchildren, Jak Kitchens and Annalyn Kitchens: four nephews, Kevin McDaniel, Larry Gregory, Marvin Gregory, and Brad Gregory; and one niece, Joyce Smithmeier; and several great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Carol Doss on February 7, 2001, a twin son and daughter, Robert Rae McDaniel and Nelda Mae McDaniel, and one brother, Clifford McDaniel.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Saturday, October 9, 2010 with a Masonic Service to be conducted at 9:30 AM in the Freeman Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Mark Dumas officiating. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Doris M. Closson, age 88 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Villa Marie Nursing Center.
Doris was born November 30, 1921 in Brookfield, Mo. the daughter of James and Henrietta Birgee. She was married on May 1, 1948 in Independence, Mo. to A. F. Closson.
Survivors include: her husband, A. F. "Slim" Closson; one son, Jim Closson and his wife Ginny of Marshall, Mo. ; three daughters, Karen Kay Closson of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; Shirley Mueller of Eureka, Mo. and Betty Morrison and her husband Travis of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert John Closson in 1954.
Private family services will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution are suggested to Villa Marie Nursing Center, 1030 Edmonds St.,  Jefferson City, Mo. 65109
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Daniel D. Steward, age 25 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at his home.
Daniel was born on April 23, 1985, in Columbia, Mo., the son of Dick and Deborah Taylor Steward. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Daniel was a 2003 graduate of Helias High School and a 2007 graduate of Lincoln University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Computer Science. He was employed by Lincoln University as a Web trainer, providing computer support to faculty and students.
His family and many friends remember most his ready smile and his ability to make people laugh with his gift for telling stories and imitating voices. He loved watching sports with his dad, playing Super Nintendo with his brother, swapping daily texts and e-mails with his mom, and being his sister’s closest confidant. He was the heart of his family.
Survivors include: his parents, Dick and Deborah Steward of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; his sister, Shannon Trevathan of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; his brother, Dwight Steward of Savoy, Ill. ; his paternal grandmother, Billie Ann Steward, of Kansas City, Mo. ; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dwight Steward; maternal grandparents, Daniel Taylor and Carolyn Owsley; one aunt, Karen Houston; and one cousin, Samuel Houston.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, Mo., led by Daniel’s uncle, Rob Taylor, with a visitation from 11:00 until 1:00 pm Saturday. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Palmyra Cemetery.
A Celebration of Daniel’s Life will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 pm Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Freeman Mortuary in  Jefferson City, Mo.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, in remembrance of the members of Daniel’s family who have died or been affected by this disease.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. James M. Hidlebaugh, age 83 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at St. Mary’s Health Center.
Jim was born June 20, 1927 in Cedar City, Mo., the son of Lloyd E. and Margaret C. Maus Hidlebaugh. He was married on May 12, 1956 in Columbia, Mo. to Margaret A. “Pat” Kimler.
A life-long resident of the  Jefferson City area, Jim was a 1945 graduate of St. Peter High School.
Jim served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was employed with the state of Missouri for forty-one years with the Missouri Highway Dept., the Missouri Treasurer’s Office, and the Office of Administration until his retirement in 1991.
He was a member of St. Peter Church; the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2693; the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003; and the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5. Jim enjoyed dancing, traveling,  Jefferson City Jay Football, and the University of Missouri Football.
Survivors include: his wife of fifty-four years, Margaret “Pat” Hidlebaugh; one brother, Ernest G. Hidlebaugh of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; five nephews and nieces, George Anthony Hidlebaugh, William Gene Hidlebaugh, Frank Kimler Neutzler, Karen Ann Meinz, and Karla Jean Rhea; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Saturday, October 16, 2010.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Francis Doyle officiating. Graveside services and entombment with military honors will be conducted at the mausoleum of Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Samaritan Center or the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. Harry J. Mueller, age 94 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo. died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at St. Mary’s Health Center.
Harry was born on August 26, 1916 the son of John G. and Kunigunda Sommerer Mueller. He was married on August 16, 1938 to Margaret L. Jacobs who preceded him in death on March 10, 1995. A lifelong resident of Osage Bluff, Harry worked for Mother’s Best Flour and Tweedies Shoe Factory, but spent the majority of his life working for several construction companies: Sommerers Bros, John Estes, Elmer Goldammer, Bennie Altheuser and retiring from Lage Cabinet Shop in 1978.
Harry enjoyed woodworking and making furniture for his daughters and grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and dancing every Saturday night with his wife at the Lomo Club. He could be seen waving at friends and neighbors at his home at Osage Bluff and Castleparke. Survivors include: two daughters, Carolyn Lueckenotte and her husband Leonard of St. Martins and Ann Twehus and her husband James of Wardsville; four grandchildren, Douglas Lueckenotte of  Jefferson City, Debra Lueckenotte of St. Martins, Cheri (Mike) Otto of St. Thomas and Chris (Tanya) Twehus of Wardsville; six great-grandchildren, Joshua Lueckenotte, Brooke Twehus, Alicia Twehus, Kamryn Twehus, Derek Otto and Kaitlyn Otto; one brother-in-law, James Priest; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harry had one great-grandson, Kyle, who joined the angels in heaven in July 2007.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, his parents, two brothers and five sisters. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 2:00 until 4:00pm Sunday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Monday, October 18, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Russell Bowder officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
