HANNIBAL - Betty L. Thompson, 74, of Hannibal, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Arch United Methodist Church in Hannibal. The Rev. David Huck will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Grand View Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thompson was born Oct. 7, 1927, in Marion County to Benjamin D. and Jennie M. Lennox O'Keefe.
She was married to Frank Thompson on Feb. 8, 1946, in Hannibal. He survives.
Other survivors include one son, James D. Thompson of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Deanna Jeans of Jackson, Mo., and Carolyn Jill Crawford of Hannibal; two sisters, Mildred Decker and Sue Studer both of Hannibal; three grandchildren, Tammi Stallard, Michelle Thompson and Erica Job; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence O'Keefe, John O'Keefe and Dee O'Keefe; and four sisters, Mary Gibbons, Mae Perry, Georgia Weller and Darlene Slaybaugh.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Arch United Methodist Church. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after 30 years of service.
Pallbearers will be Earl Wilson, Bob Wilson, Virgil Young, Jim Schlosser, Herman Hirner, Becker Spaun
Memorials may be given to the piano fund at Arch United Methodist Church or the church building fund.
Dorothy M. Barr
Perry

VANDALIA - Dorothy M. Barr, 67, of rural Perry, died at 11:58 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia. The Rev. Marvin Jones will officiate. Burial will be at the Vandalia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barr was born June 21, 1934, in Farber to Floyd and Beulah Prock Terry.
She was married to Earl E. Barr Sr. on June 2, 1951, in Vandalia. He survives.
Other survivors include one brother, Jack Terry of Hannibal; four sisters, Alice Kampeter of Farber, Imogene Dungan of Laddonia, Maxine Stewart of Curryville and Fern Price of Hallsville; and two grandchildren, Tina Wieberg and Shawn Barr.
The family wishes to include as survivors, one daughter-in-law, Rita Barr of Vandalia; two great-grandchildren, Blayne Wieberg and Dylan Barr; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ernie Barr Jr.; one daughter, Karen Sue Barr; two brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Barr had been a homemaker on the family farm all her life. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church of Vandalia.
Pallbearers will be Vince Kampeter, Jack Terry, Shawn Barr, Hahn Wieberg, Malcolm Dowell and Gene Syler.
Dorothy A. Megown
Cedar Rapids, Iowa

HANNIBAL - Dorothy A. Megown, 69, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and formerly of Chicago, Ill., died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Hannibal. Pastor Tom Day will officiate. Burial will be at Barkley Cemetery in New London.
Visitation will be from noon until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Megown was born Aug. 27, 1932, in Chicago to Barney and Gwendolyn Bretl Wiebust.
She was married to John Megown on April 6, 1957, in Chicago. He preceded her in death April 13, 1992.
Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Megown of Cedar Rapids; and two grandchildren, Jefferson Megown and Elizabeth Megown, both of Cedar Rapids.
The family also wishes to include as survivors, one daughter-in-law, Patricia Megown; and her mother-in-law, Fannie Megown of New London.
Mrs. Megown worked in customer service for Sears Inc. in Cedar Rapids from 1973 to 1999. She was of the Lutheran faith and had formerly been a member of the Rotary Anns.
Edith E. Bine
St. Charles

WINFIELD - Edith Evelyn Bine, 89, of St. Charles and formerly of Winfield, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Blanchette Place in St. Charles.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at the Corinth Christian Church near Foley. The Rev. Jim Daniels will officiate. Burial will be at Corinth Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
Mrs. Bine was born Jan. 13, 1912, in Winfield to Samuel W. and Elizabeth Rebecca Brower Parsons.
She was married to John J. Bine on June 18, 1932, in Troy. He preceded her in death July 11, 1987.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Bine of Wentzville and John W. Bine of St. Charles; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to include as survivors, two daughters-in-law, Connie Bine and Judy Bine; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.
She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Bine was employed for a number of years as a seamstress. She was a former member of the Rebecca Lodge No. 372 in Winfield and a lifelong member of the Corinth Christian Church.
Memorials may be made to Corinth Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Bine, Jeffrey Bine, Todd Bine, Wayne Bine, Nick Erbe and Cary Haus.
Juanita Dudley Kelley
Troy

TROY - Juanita Dudley Kelley, 70, of Troy, died at 9:06 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home in Troy. The Rev. Ed Powlishta will officiate. Burial will be at Thornhill Cemetery in Troy.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kelley was born March 31, 1931, in O'Fallon to William and Ursula Halter Stuckey.
She was first married to Carl Dudley. He preceded her in death in July 1961. She was married to Jerry Kelley in January 1972, in Moscow Mills. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Ron Dudley and Paul Dudley, both of Troy; five sisters, Rosella Wiechen of Ocala, Fla., Lorraine Piskulick of Sun City, Ariz., Joy Henderson of St. Paul, Delores Schwartz of Chamois and Mary Hiemann of Bridgeton; one brother, Robert Stuckey of Troy; and four grandchildren.
The family wishes to include as survivors, two daughters-in-law, Roberta Dudley and Kay Dudley; two brothers-in-law, Leo Wiechen, John Piskulick, Robert Henderson and Wes Schwartz; and one sister-in-law, Laverne Stuckey of Troy.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Norval Stuckey.
Mrs. Kelley had been a homemaker.

James R. Henry III
Littleton, Colo.

SILEX - James Robert Henry III, 58, of Littleton, Colo., died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, in Silex.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Silex. Disposition will be at Memorial Park Crematory in St. Louis.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 and from 1:30 p.m. until time of service on Sunday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home.
Mr. Henry was born May 26, 1943 in Hannibal to James Robert II and Charlene Barton Davis.
Survivors include his father of Silex; one son, Zeke Henry of Denver, Colo.; three daughters, Kandace Gilbert of Indianapolis, Ind., Becca Henry of Baltimore, Md., and Amary Henry of Denver, Colo.; one grandson, Quinlan Taylor; two brothers, Michael Henry and Joe Henry; 10 sisters, Phyllis Korte, Janet Baker, Susan Brewer, Maggie Perrott, Marla Henry, Brenda Reinholz, Marcia Henry, Donna Entwhistle, Christy Stoneking and Nancy Killoren.
The family wishes to include as a survivor Elaine Batts, with whom he shared his life for the past several years.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and two brothers, Kevin Henry and Mark Henry.
Mr. Henry was raised in Silex and moved to Colorado in 1972. He served in the United States Air Force and had been employed by Lockheed Martin, formerly Martin Marietta, for 29 years.
