Robert Henry Boren

Crane
Oct. 30, 1917 - June 14, 2003

AURORA - Robert Henry Boren, 85, of Crane, died at 2:58 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Mercy Aurora Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Crafton-Cantrell Chapel in Aurora. The Rev. Lee Parsons will officiate.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

Mr. Boren was born Oct. 30, 1917, in  Louisiana to Arthur Thomas and Meddie Mae Bowles Boren.

He was married to Elaine Riley on Sept. 22, 1940, in Hannibal. She survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Brenda Clark and her husband, Glen, of Crane; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Anna Virginia Terrill.

Mr. Boren retired in 1979 from MGD Numatic in Springfield. He was a machinist for Tasope in Aurora, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Aurora First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Baptist Hill Camp, in care of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, 303 S.  Jefferson, Aurora, Mo. 65605.

William R. Harding

HANNIBAL - William R. Harding, 64, of Hannibal, died at 2:05 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2003, at his home.

Funeral services are pending at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

Johnnie M. Pulliam

Troy
June 30, 1930 - June 13, 2003

TROY - Johnnie M. Pulliam, 72, of Troy, died at 10:50 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2003, at Troy Manor.

Funeral services will be at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at National Cemetery,  Jefferson Barracks. The Rev. Gene Nottaker will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home in Troy.

Mr. Pulliam was born June 30, 1930, in Tupelo, Miss., to Johnnie and Ruth Lockridge Pulliam.

Survivors include one son, Calvin Pulliam and wife, Angela, of Troy; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother.

Mr. Pulliam had been a Baptist minister in Tupelo. He had worked most of his life as a handyman but in past years had worked for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department and Hilltop Phillips 66 Station. He had served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953.

Memorials may be made to the Pulliam family, in care of the funeral home.

Mary Margaret McClelland

MONROE CITY - Mary Margaret McClelland, newborn daughter of Jonathan Bryan and Stephanie Ann Kendrick McClelland, was pronounced dead at birth on Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Audrain County Medical Center in Mexico.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at St. Stephens Cemetery in Indian Creek. Father Don Antweiler will officiate.

The Garner Funeral Home in Monroe City is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her parents of Monroe City; two brothers Patrick and Michael McClelland, both of the home; one sister, Sarah McClelland of the home; maternal grandparents, Chuck and Patricia Kendrick of Monroe City; paternal grandparents, Dr. Randall and Jean McClelland of Quincy, Ill.; and maternal great-grandmothers, Alberta Caldwell and Rosie Kendrick, both of Monroe City.

She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandparents, Joshua and Ellen Henderson and Clyde and Margaret McClelland, all formerly of the state of Ohio; and maternal great-grandfathers, Leo Caldwell and Harry Kendrick, both formerly of Monroe City.

Merle Ragan

SHELBINA - Merle Ragan, 80, of Shelbina, died at 8:10 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2003, at Clarence Care Center in Clarence.

Funeral services are pending at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina.

Archie Beshears

New London
Nov. 24, 1931 - June 15, 2003

HANNIBAL - Robert A. (Archie) Beshears, 71, of New London, died at 5:54 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2003, in the emergency room of Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Grand View Funeral Chapel in Hannibal. The Rev. Richard Epperson will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Beshears was born Nov. 24, 1931, in New London to Reuben and Zoleta Dailey Beshears.

He was married to Darlene Stull on Aug. 16, 1997. She survives.

Other survivors include two stepsons, John Schmelzle of New London and David Schmelzle of Hannibal; two daughters, Hazel Purvis of Greensboro, Ky., and Robin Thomas of Las Vegas, Nev.; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Eversmeyer of Hannibal and Elizabeth Halpin of Pueblo, Colo.; two brothers, Billy Joe Beshears of Bowling Green and George Beshears of Bucyrus; one sister, Bertha Elledge of Columbia; six grandchildren, Angelica Thomas, Robert Thomas, Monica Mayhew, Robert Dale Purvis, George Purvis and Roger Purvis; 10 stepgrandchildren, Racquel Reynolds, Andrea Eversmeyer, Chelsea Eversmeyer, John Schmelzle, Justin Schmelzle, Jacob Schmelzle, Jamie Schmelzle, Kirsten Atchley, Phillip Halpin and L.T. Halpin; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one stepson, Danny Pursifull; and two sisters, Lula D. Craven and Lucille Schonehart.

Mr. Beshears was a lifelong resident of New London and was a member of the Salt River Christian Church. For 44 years, he was employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation Northeast District and for many of those years, he operated a motor grader. He was known as Pop to many of the younger employees.

Memorials may be made to Salt River Christian Church.

At his request, pallbearers will be employees he worked with at the Missouri Department of Transportation, including Richard Arnold, Greg Price, Rodney Osbourne, Glenn Hastings, Butch Mundle and Mike Schwallenstecker.

Elden Lee Troyer

Paris
Feb. 11, 1920 - June 15, 2003

PARIS - Elden Lee Troyer, 83, of Paris, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at the Pleasant View Church.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the Pleasant View Church. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the church.

The Agnew Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Troyer was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Plain City, Ohio, to Eli and Melinda Farmwald Troyer.

He was married to Lena Kurtz on June 6, 1940, and they lived in holy matrimony for 63 years. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons and three daughters, Leon Miller of Plain City, David Kramer of Paris and Ivan Converse, Rebecca Helmuth, Ruth Miller and Rhoda Hochstetler, all of Plain City; four sisters; 24 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Eli Troyer; one sister; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.

Mr. Troyer was a minister of Prairie View Church.

Mildred Depping

St. Louis
June 16, 1914-June 13, 2003

TROY - Mildred Depping, 88, of St. Louis and formerly of Moscow Mills, died Friday, June 13, 2003, at Mary Queen and Mother Center in St. Louis.

Funeral services will be at noon today at Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Chapel in Troy. Burial will be at Friedens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services today at the funeral home.

Miss Depping was born June 16, 1914, in Moscow Mills to William and Emma Steinmesch Depping.

Survivors include her lifelong friend, Jane Lange of St. Louis; and four nieces, Janet Resnek of Chapel Hill, N.C., Kay Hornsby of Texas , Diana Hoxie of Washington , D.C., and Laura Meyer of Moscow Mills.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Langford and Hazel Schmidt; and two brothers, Wesley (Pete) Depping and Henry Depping.

Miss Depping was retired from Southwestern Bell. She was honored for the restoration of the Shapley Ross Home in Moscow Mills, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ.
