Frances V. Edwards
Monroe City
Sept. 21, 1910 - June 12, 2003

MONROE CITY - Frances (Frankie) Virginia Edwards, 92, a lifelong Monroe City resident, died at 2 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Monroe City Manor Care Center, where she had been a resident for two days.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at St. Jude Cemetery in Monroe City. Dr. Milton Baumgardner will officiate.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services Sunday at Garner Funeral Home and Chapel in Monroe City.

Miss Edwards was born Sept. 21, 1910, in Monroe City to Eugene Monroe and Laura Virginia Rohr Edwards.

She was never married.

Survivors include one sister, Ruby L. Cripe of Monroe City; one nephew, Gerald Edwards and wife, Eva Mae, of Monroe City; and two great-nieces, Janelle Hayden of St. Peter and Michelle Moore of O'Fallon.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, James Walter and Price Edwards; and one sister, Cora Ethel Colliver.

Miss Edwards graduated from Monroe City High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe City. She was a retired employee of Henderson Produce Co. and Davis-Cleaver of Quincy, Ill.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Pallbearers will be Jason Haden, Greg Moore, Jerry L. Botkins, Gerald Edwards, Richard Adams and Raymond (Bud) Vollrath.

Louis A. Ifland Jr.

Troy
March 13, 1935 - June 19, 2003

TROY - Louis A. Ifland Jr., 68, of Troy, died Thursday, June 19, 2003.

Funeral services will be at noon Monday, June 23, at the Kemper-Marsh-Millard Funeral Home-Troy Chapel. Sister MaryAnn Fisher will officiate. Burial, with full military honors, will be at  Jefferson Barracks.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at the funeral home.

Mr. Ifland was born March 13, 1935, in St. Louis to Louis and Catherine Winkle Ifland.

He was married to Helen Konieczny on Sept. 1, 1956, in St. Louis. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Louis Ifland of Troy; five daughters, Christine Hammond of Silex, Karen Arens of Wright City, Vickie Shryock of Troy, Susan Occhi of Moscow Mills and Angela Ifland of Troy; and nine grandchildren, Courtney and Lauren Hammond, Nicholas and Eric Shryock, Nicole and Joshua Edwards and Kayla, Robert and Matthew Occhi.

Mr. Ifland served in the U.S. Army.

Russell Wiley Morrison

Mexico
Nov. 24, 1915 - June 18, 2003

HANNIBAL - Russell Wiley Morrison, 87, of Mexico and formerly of Pike County and Kansas City, died at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Hannibal. David W. Dexheimer will officiate. Military rites will be conducted following services at the funeral home by Emmette J. Shields, Post 55, of the American Legion. Burial will be at the Shelbina Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at the funeral home.

Mr. Morrison was born Nov. 24, 1915 in Shelbina to Joseph Walker and Lillian Jane Sebastian Morrison.

He was married in Fayetteville, Ark., to Marguerite Grace Taylor. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Webb and husband, Gordon, of Toronto, Kan., Nancy Morrison and husband, Stephen Graboske, and Christine Jochems and husband, Steven, all of Lees Summit; one son, Steven R. Morrison and wife, Linda, of Peculiar; one sister, Betty Jo Smith and husband, Gerald, of  Louisiana; eight grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walker B. Morrison and Wayne R. Morrison; and two sisters, Pat Jackson, Mary Moore and Pauline Farrell.

Mr. Morrison formerly worked at Midland Dairy in Hannibal. He retired from Navajo Freight Line in Kansas City. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Bowling Green and Teamsters Union, Local No. 41 in Kansas City. He was Baptist by faith.

Ralph Mathew O'Donnell

MALONE, N.Y. - Ralph Mathew O'Donnell, infant son of William and Elizabeth Perry O'Donnell of Jacksonville, N. C., died at birth Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at St. Ann's Cemetery in St. Regis Falls, with Rev. John Demo presiding. Arrangements were made through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service Inc., of Malone.

Along with his parents, he is survived by a sister, Jada; his paternal grandparents, Paul and Janet Couch of  Louisiana and Jerry O'Donnell of Hannibal; his maternal grandparents, David and Irene Perry of Malone, N.Y.; maternal great-grandparents, Dorothy Perry of St. Regis Falls, N.Y., and George and Joan Cary of Potsdam, N.Y.; maternal great-great-grandmother, Elsie Miller of Massena, N.Y.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mabel Stumpf

April 12, 1916 - June 19, 2003

TROY - Mabel Stumpf, 88, died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at Crossroads Regional Hospital in Wentzville.

There are no services scheduled at this time.

The Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Troy is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stumpf was born April 12, 1916, in Lincoln, Ill., to Charles A. Webster and Eva G. Freeman.

She was married to Raymond Stumpf in 1936, in Clayton. He preceded her in death Feb. 11, 1993.

Other survivors include one daughter, Judy Aubuchon and husband, Claude, of Truxton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Allen Ray Stumpf.

Mrs. Stumpf has been a waitress in the St. Louis area for several years and was a member of the Lincoln, Ill., V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, watching TV and working crossword puzzles.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Charles R. Brashears

Hannibal
July 12, 1939 - June 19, 2003

HANNIBAL - Charles R. Brashears, 63, of Hannibal, died at 6:40 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2003, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial, with full military rites by the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55, will be at Grand View Cemetery in Hannibal.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Brashears was born July 12, 1939, in Perry to Charles M. and Blanche M. Bush Brashears.

He was married to Sandra Hughes on June 3, 1961, in Palmyra. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, David Brashears and wife, Cyndee, of Columbia; two daughters, Susan Wortham of Columbia and Carol Singleton of Hannibal; one sister, Connie Young of Monticello, Iowa; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Brashears was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Colt Industries in Quincy, Ill., after 22 years as a machine operator. He was a Christian by faith. Mr. Brashears enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf and was a sports enthusiast.

Memorials may be made to the Hannibal Nutrition Center.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Garrett, Leroy Goodwin, Don Webster, Jim Walker, Sonny Garrett and Les Harding.

Mary Grace Wright Yancy

New Hartford
July 20, 1964 - June 17, 2003

BOWLING GREEN - Mary Grace Wright Yancy, 38, of New Hartford, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at her home.

Private graveside services were Wednesday, June 18, at the Siloam Cemetery near New Hartford.

The Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green was in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Yancy was born July 20, 1964, in Gillette, Wyo., to Leroy Philip and Bonnie Mae Weaver Wright.

Survivors include two brothers, Jack Wright of Midwest, Wyo., Leroy Wright of Casper, Wyo.; three sisters, Patty McMahand of Vacaville, Calif., Vicky Deel of Fincastle, Va., and Elizabeth Wilhoit of New Hartford; and many nieces and nephews.

Ms. Yancy dearly loved cocker spaniel dogs and animals of all kinds. She lived in California for 13 years. She will be dearly missed.
