McGraw
GREENVILLE — Graveside service arrangements for Tommie Lee Sullivan McGraw, 81, of Greenville, a retired registered nurse, are pending Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Dec. 9, 2002, at The King's Daughters Hospital, Greenville, after a lengthy illness. Burial will be in Mize Cemetery, Mize.
Mrs. McGraw was born in Mize, Miss., on May 13, 1921. She graduated from Mize High School and received her registered nurse's degree from Jackson Infirmary. In 1943, she married Winthrop Dada McGraw, and they made their home in Greenville, where Dr. McGraw was stationed at the Greenville Air Base. She was employed with both hospitals in Greenville and Oschner's Hospital in New Orleans. She was a Southern Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Winthrop D. McGraw of Greenville; one daughter, Mary M. Pieralisi of Leland; two sons, William "Bill" McGraw (Rose) of Greenville and Richard McGraw (Joyce) of Baton Rouge, La.; six grandchildren. Stephanie Folse of Mandeville, La., David McGraw of Houston, Texas, Daniel McGraw of Baton Rouge, La., Win Pieralisi of Oxford, Miss., and Anne McGraw and Emily McGraw, both of Greenville; and two great-grandchildren, Michael Folse and Matthew Folse, both of Mandeville, La.
The family will receive friends today at 2 p.m. at the home of Bill McGraw.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Panter
LAKE VILLAGE, Ark. — Memorial services for Evelyn Marie Panter, 92, of Lake Village, a homemaker, will be at a later date in Turlock, Calif. She died of respiratory failure at Arnold Avenue Nursing Home, Greenville, Miss. Local arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home, Lake Village.
She was born Nov. 6, 1910, in Los Angeles, Calif., the daughter of the late James O. Wash, and Hannah Osterman Wash. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Wash, and a sister, Vivian Collins.
Survivors include one son, Richard J. Panter and wife, Shirley, of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; one daughter, Susan Panter McBride and husband, Ray, of Lake Village; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Powell
GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for the Rev. Eugene P. "E.P." Powell, 81, of Greenville are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Dec. 10, 2002, at his home.
Russell
GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Johnnie B. Russell, 81, of Greenville will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Rest MB Church, Greenville. She died Dec. 4, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Johnnie B. Russell was born Aug. 25, 1921, to the late Mrs. Clara Hill Gordon in James Crossing. She confessed Christ at an early age. She received her education while living in James Crossing and later moved to Greenville, Miss. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Buddy Russell. Because of her maternal nature and giving spirit, she raised two nephews and one niece as her own.
Mrs. Russell made a peaceful departure from her earthly home on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002. To cherish her memories she leaves her loving and devoted sister, Ivory Williams of Chicago; three children she raised as her own, Debra (Marcus) Polk of Lithonia, Ga., Michael Williams of Chicago and Jimmy (Janet) Baxter Jr. of Greenville; eight nieces, Dorothy, Shelia, Flora and Demetris, all of Greenville, and Clara, Lozell, Betty and Willie B., all of Chicago; two nephews, Jimmy Baxter Sr. of Greenville and Willie Sims of Chicago; one godson, Sammie Duncan; and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. The remains will lie in state at the church Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Minister A.M. Hines will officiate.

CHICAGO — Funeral arrangements for Clyde Atkins, 58, of Chicago and formerly of Hollandale are pending at Sanders-Byas Funeral Home, Hollandale. He died Feb. 6, 2003, at his home.

INDIANOLA — Memorial services for Benjamin "Benny" Franklin Caldwell, 75, of Indianola will be at a later date. He died Jan. 19, 2003, at his home. Burial will be in Moorhead Cemetery under the direction of Card Funeral Home, Indianola.
Survivors include three sisters, Maureen Knox of Fayetteville, N.C., Margaret Thurman of Thomaston, Ga., and Ruth Whisenant of Corinth; and two brothers, Frank Caldwell of Greenville and Jerry Caldwell of Indianola.
Carlton
BELZONI — Graveside services for Corrie Anne Campbell Carlton, 84, of Belzoni, a retired librarian, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Belzoni City Cemetery. She died Feb. 10, 2003, at Humphreys County Memorial Hospital, Belzoni. Burial will be under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home, Belzoni.
Mrs. Carlton was born in Winona, Miss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Caleb Sidney Carlton. She received her master's degree in library science.
Survivors include three daughter, Anne Gorton of Jackson, Carolyn (Mack) Gorton of Belzoni and Sidney (Doug) Lyon of Arlington, Texas; six grandchildren, Don Eldridge Gorton III of Boston, Mass., James Carlton Gorton of Santa Monica, Calif., Lindsay Gorton Warren and Sidney Carlton Gorton II, both of Jackson, Walter Mack Gorton Jr. of Belzoni and Joyce Anne Lyon Gaggard of Ashland City, Tenn.; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today at the home of Carolyn Gorton of Belzoni.

Crowder
MOUND BAYOU — Funeral services for Lula Alice Crowder, 89, of Mound Bayou will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, Mound Bayou. She died Feb. 6, 2003, at Northwest Mississippi Regional Hospital, Clarksdale. Burial will be in Mound Bayou Memorial Gardens under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland.
Mrs. Crowder was born July 13, 1913, in Goodman, Miss. She attended Goodman public schools. At an early age, Lula married Robert Lamar Crowder, and to this union five children were born. After living in Memphis for three years, she and her husband moved their family to Mound Bayou where she lived until her death. Her husband, Robert, and their youngest son, Alfred, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Lenora Crowder McNeese of Greenville, Joann Crowder (David) Wynn of Hattiesburg and Eunice Crowder of Boston, Mass.; one son, Lamar Crowder; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland. The body will lie in state at the church Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Curry
GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Daisy Curry, 91, of Greenville are pending at Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Feb. 9, 2003, at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home, Greenville.
Finklea
LELAND — Funeral services for Ella William Davidson Finklea, 84, of Leland, a retired secretary, were Friday at 3 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. She died of heart failure Feb. 3, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial was in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery, Stoneville.
She was born in Cave City, Ark., and moved to Leland, Miss., at an early age with her parents, the late Alma Allen Davidson and the late John Clarence Davidson. She graduated from Leland High School and attended Mississippi Delta Community College. She married Jimmie C. Finklea in 1939 and was employed with Finklea Brothers as an agricultural aviation secretary for many years. She later was employed with a local hotel as a secretarial clerk until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Leland. She was well loved by many friends and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960, two sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include one daughter, Mona Lisa Weeks (Sammy) of Leland; two sons, James D. Finklea (Kathryn) of Beaumont, Texas, and William Irby Finklea (Laura Jean) of Dallas; one sister, Annie Hill Finklea of Harrison, Ark.; a former daughter-in-law, Bonita Finklea of Leland; one granddaughter, Nona Lea Finklea (Michael) of Dallas; four grandsons, William Curtis Finklea (Lynn) of Greenville, James David Finklea of Galveston, Texas, and Samuel "Duke" Weeks and Alvin Carleton Weeks (Tiffany), both of Leland; three great-grandsons, David "Bubbie" Finklea, Curtis Michael Finklea and Shelby Lynn Finklea, all of Greenville.
The family received friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, Leland.

Mr. McCormick was the former administrator of Bessie J. Taylor Retirement Home in Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lane Bennett.
She is survived by a brother, Johnny Ross of Topoccola, Miss.
