Cooper

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Katie Lee Cooper, 85, a homemaker of Greenville will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mortimer Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville. She died Dec. 6, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in Greenville City Cemetery.

She was born in Centerville, Tenn. She was a resident of Greenville, Miss., until her move to Dublin, Ga., where she spent a year with her family. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Mae Miller and Brenda Kay Pearson, and her husband, Benjamin Franklin Cooper.

Survivors include three sons, Coy L. (Barbara) Cooper and Gene (Sheila) Thomas, both of Dublin, Ga., and Richard Earl (Sybil) Cooper of Vidor, Texas; a sister, Bertha Campbell of Gillett, Ark.; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mortimer Funeral Home.

Fleming

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Graveside services for Norfleet Cranford Fleming, 85, of Little Rock, Ark., will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery, Jackson, Miss. She died Dec. 6, 2002, at Presbyterian Village, Little Rock. Local arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home, Little Rock. Burial will be under the direction of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, Jackson.

Mrs. Fleming was born in Seminary and spent most of her life in Jackson and Greenville, Miss., before moving to Little Rock in 1996. She served for many years as an assistant in the Mississippi Senate, and was an avid golfer, with a hole-in-one to her credit.

Mrs. Fleming is survived by one sister, Lucille Batte of Jackson, Miss.; one brother, Lynn Cranford of Greenville; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Neill Sloan of Lake Village, Ark.; son and daughter-in-law, Vic and Susan Fleming of Little Rock; and grandchildren, Caroline Sloan, Mary Martha Henry and husband Jason (and great-grandson Jay), and Ted Fleming, all of Little Rock, Nancy Sloan of Jackson and Elizabeth Fleming of Arlington, Va.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, Jackson.

Memorials may be made to second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock or Presbyterian Village.

Gilbert

CLEVELAND -- Funeral services for Joe Earl Gilbert, 55, of Cleveland will be at 2 p.m. today at Ray Funeral Home, Cleveland. He died Dec. 6, 2002, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland. Burial will be in New Cleveland Cemetery.

Jones

ROSWELL, Ga. -- Funeral services for Sue L. Jones, 86, of Roswell, Ga., will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First Methodist Church, Belzoni. She died Dec. 6, 2002, at Manor Care Nursing Home, Marietta, Ga. Burial will be in Belzoni City Cemetery under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville.

She was born in Bolivar County, and she was a former member of First Methodist Church in Belzoni. She was a former resident of Belzoni; she moved to Roswell, Ga., in 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Jones.

Survivors include two sons, William E. (Meredith) Jones of Gaithersburg, Md., and Allen (Fran) Jones of Roswell, Ga.; six nieces; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. Monday at First Methodist Church, Belzoni.

The Rev. Phillip Dearman will officiate.

Kellum

GREENVILLE -- Funeral arrangements for Lillie "Lillo" Miller Kellum, 49, of Greenville and formerly of Benoit, are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Dec. 6, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville.

Love

INDIANOLA -- Funeral services for Mary Edna Holloway Love, 98, a homemaker of Indianola will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Card Funeral Home, Indianola. She died Dec. 6, 2002, at Mississippi Care Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Indianola. She was preceded in death by her husband, Will Love Sr., and three sons, James Robert Love, Herbert Love and Will Love Jr.

Survivors include a daughter, Murline Love Addington of Greenville; at grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday from 1 p.m. until service time.

McGee

INDIANOLA -- Memorial services for Augusta McGee, 76, of Greenville and formerly of Indianola, will be Saturday, Dec. 21, at Hayes Chapel of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola. He died Dec. 3, 2002, at Greenville Convalescent Home, Greenville.

Survivors include one brother, Billy (Rhonda) McGee of Anaheim, Calif.; six sisters, Ann Ranor of Kansas City, Mo., Earnestine Price of Cincinnati, Darthulia (Horace) Allen of Palalto, Calif., Bobby Mitchell of Daley City, Calif., Dr. Hazel (Sylvester) Tate of Bowie, Md., and Doris (John) Flemming of Indianola; and two grandchildren of Tampa, Fla.

Prewitt

HOLLANDALE -- Funeral services for Opal Walker Prewitt, 90, of Grenada and formerly of Hollandale will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. She died of heart failure Dec. 5, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi, Oxford. Burial will be in Hollandale Cemetery.

Mrs. Prewitt was a native of Ackerman, Miss., where she attended public schools. She married Rufus C. Prewitt in 1927, and they made their home in Choctaw County. They later moved to Cleveland in 1945, where they were in the dairy farming business. Mr. Prewitt preceded her in death in 1977, and she made her home in Hollandale until May of this year, when she made her home at Beverly Health Care in Grenada, Miss. She was also preceded in death by a son, R.C. Prewitt Jr., this year. She was a member of the Hollandale Church of Christ.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Halliburton of Leland, Edie P. Villarrubia of Metairie, La., and Dorothy P. Fowler of Bradenton, Fla.; four sons, Roy Prewitt of Grenada, Bill Prewitt and Fred Prewitt, both of Holcomb, and Larry Prewitt of Wilmington, N.C.; one sister, Tommie Lee Steed of McCool; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Winters

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Earnestine Winters, 77, of Greenville will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Sisson Chapel of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Dec. 4, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville.

Survivors include her husband, Curtis Winters of Greenville; five daughters, Earnestine (Samuel) Catholic of Briar Cliff, N.Y., and Martha (Ralph Sr.) Ransome, Helen (Frank) Johnson, Shirley Winters and JoAnn Winters, all of Greenville; five sons, Carlee Winters, Leroy (Mattie) Winters, Curtis Winters Jr. and Sylvester Winters, all of Greenville, and James (Gale) Winters of Cincinnati; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; two godchildren, Tebreena and Angel; two sisters-in-law, Flozell Jackson of Lamont and Alice Watts of Little Rock, Ark.; and one brother-in-law, Lonnie Evans Sr. of Chicago.

Visitation will be today from 3 to 6 p.m., with family hour from 5 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.

The Rev. Cicero Hall will officiate.

Bell

ROLLING FORK — Funeral services for Jessie Bell Sr., 83, of Rolling Fork will be Sunday at noon at South Delta High School auditorium, Rolling Fork. He died Feb. 4, 2003, at Sharkey Issaquena Hospital, Rolling Fork. Burial will be in Section Cemetery, Anguilla, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Rolling Fork.

Survivors include his wife, Deloris Bell of Rolling Fork; seven sons, Calvin Fung, Ronnie (Mary) Fung, Robert (Ella Mae) Jones and Lynndale (Lakesha) Bell, all of Rolling Fork, Donald (Annie) Fung of Houston, Texas, Jessie (Shirley) Bell Jr. of Chicago and George (Kathy) Steen of Kansas City, Kan.; 18 daughters, Charlestine Ash, Charles Ann Chriss, Roberta Brooks, Ruthie Mae Colding and Ruby Jewell Steen, all of Kansas City, Kan., Annie Doss and Dorothy Bell, both of Chicago, Brenda Bell, Mary Ann Jones, Erica Bell and Lottie London, all of Rolling Fork, Delores (Anthony) Chism, Catina Bell, Laddie Bell, all of Greenville, Beatrice Bell of Vicksburg, Patricia (Jim) Mack of Jackson, Annie Fung of Columbus, Ga. and Cathy (Sammie) Lewis of Memphis; one sister, Ethel Carson of Vicksburg; and numerous grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Elder Reginald Brown Sr. will officiate.

Carter

SHAW — Funeral services for Mack "Daddy Mack" Carter Sr., 91, of Shaw will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Spangle Banner MB Church, Shaw. He died Feb. 3, 2003, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland. Burial will be in New West Memorial Gardens, Shaw, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mack "Daddy Mack" Carter Sr., a retired law enforcement officer of Shaw, Miss., died on Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, Miss. Visitation will be today at the United Rock of Ages MB Church, 701 Issaquena St., Shaw, Miss., from 6 to 7 p.m. Services will be Saturday at the Spangle Banner MB Church, 308 White Oak Street, Shaw, Miss., at 1 p.m., with burial in New West Memorial Gardens, Shaw, Miss.

Mr. Carter was born April 16, 1911, the third child of eight children born to the late Green and Annie Carter of Redwood, Miss. He was a farmer and law enforcement professional. He concluded his professional career serving in the Shaw Police Department and the Bolivar County Sheriff's Department.

Survivors include a loving wife, Lela Heath Carter; four daughters, Johnnie (John) Dalton, Sherry (Willie) Cornell, Lela (Robert) Washington and Donna (Hosey) Jones; four sons, Mack (Natasha) Carter Sr., David (Jacqueline) Carter, William Carter and Roger (Catherine) Carter; one brother, D.H. (Georgette) Carter; three sisters, Rosie (McKinley) Ross, Margarete Henry and Floree Bew; 33 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Visitation will be today from 1 to 4 p.m., at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. Family hour will be today from 6 to 7 p.m. at United Rock of Ages Church, Shaw. The remains will lie in state at the church Saturday from noon to 1 p.m.

The Rev. Larry L. King will officiate.

Dailey

INDIANOLA — Funeral services for Edgar Alonzo Dailey, 81, of Indianola will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Indianola. He died Feb. 6, 2003, at South Sunflower County Hospital, Indianola. Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Card Funeral Home, Indianola.

Mr. Dailey was retired from Ludlow Textiles. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marie Wilson Dailey of Indianola; two daughters, Dorothy Dailey of Plano, Texas, and Madie Dailey White of Richardson, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Card Funeral Home, Indianola.

Memorials may be made to the Swartz-Ward Bible Class of First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 86, Indianola, MS 38751.

Harris

RULEVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Jimmy Harris, 69, of Ruleville are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville. He died Jan. 6, 2003, at his home.

Hull

DREW — Funeral arrangements for Frankie Hull, 64, of Drew are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville. He died Feb. 6, 2003, at his home.
