INDIANOLA — Funeral services for Christine Singleton, 85, of Indianola will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Church, Indianola. She died Nov. 27, 2002, at South Sunflower County Hospital, Indianola. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Garden, Indianola, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

Survivors include one son, Willie Shephard of Indianola; one daughter, Perthine Jackson of Chicago; two sisters, Earnestine Townsend and Effie Johnson, both of Indianola; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

Elder Willie Shephard and Elder Elijah Walker will officiate.

Smith

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Daniel Smith Jr., 56, of Greenville will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, Greenville. He died Dec. 2, 2002, at his home. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.

Survivors include one special friend, JoAnn Mason of Greenville; two daughters, Rolanda (Finess) Brown of Waukegan, Ill., and DeWanda (Audru) Mazola of Dallas; one son, Kelvis (Angelique) Smith of Gurnee, Ill.; one sister, Ruthie Mae (Lawrence) Smith of Greenville; one brother, Elmer (Emma Jean) Smith of Waukegan, Ill.; grandchildren Kwayland, Xavier Smith, Chianning Jones, Aaron Smith and Trinity Mazola; and special friends Leon Edward, Jimmie Brooks, Willie Claxton, Big Mac and Allen Josheua.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Greenville. The body will lie in state at the church Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.

The Rev. B.T. Benson will officiate.

Spraggs

MOUND BAYOU — Funeral services for Will Spraggs Sr., 68, of Mound Bayou will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at H.J. Hank Chapel of Byas Funeral Home, Shelby. He died Nov. 30, 2002, at his home. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Cemetery, Mound Bayou.

Survivors include one son, Will Spraggs Jr. of Chicago; one daughter, Laura Robinson of Mound Bayou; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at H.J. Hank Chapel of Byas Funeral Home, Shelby.

The Rev. Keith Toliver will officiate.

Walker

RULEVILLE — Funeral services for Cornealie Walker, 75, of Ruleville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at William Chapel Church, Ruleville. She died Nov. 29, 2002, at North Sunflower County Hospital, Ruleville. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Ruleville, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

Survivors include five stepsons, Eddie James Walker, Willie Lee Walker, Augusta Walker, W.D. Walker and Robert Lee Greer, all of Freeport, Ill.; three stepdaughters, Jimmie Lee Walker William of Flint, Mich., and Bobbie Walker and Dorothy Hollway, both of Freeport, Ill.; four brothers, Precious Palmer of Glendora, B.J. Palmer of St. Louis, Ill., George Lee Palmer of Memphis and Willie Earl Palmer of Freeport, Ill.; three sisters, Lula Mae Rogers of Ruleville, Laura Mae Ellis of Milwaukee and Ellen May of Greenville; and many stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

The Rev. S.E. Walker will officiate.

Williams

SHAW — Funeral arrangements for Lataris Williams, age unavailable, of Shaw are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland. He died Dec. 4, 2002, in Shaw.

Winters

GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Earnestine Winters, 77, of Greenville are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Dec. 4, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville.

Briggs

INDIANOLA -- Funeral services for Issac Briggs, 76, of Indianola will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Quon Chapel Church, Moorhead. He died Jan. 30, 2003, at Legacy Manor, Greenville. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Moorhead, under the direction of Dillon Funeral Home, Indianola.

Survivors include four daughters, Martha Briggs of Greenville, Julia Briggs of Los Angeles, Flora Thomas of Indianola and Diana Jackson of Drew; four sons, Issac Briggs Jr. and Jimmy Briggs, both of Los Angeles, Terry Jackson of Chamberg, Pa., and Joseph Briggs of Greenville; one brother, Moses Briggs of Memphis.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Dillon Funeral Home chapel, Indianola.

The Rev. Jimmy Briggs will officiate.

Cork

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Rubie Mae Cork, 70, of Arlington, Texas, and formerly of Greenville will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive MB Church, Greenville. She died Jan. 31, 2003, at Arlington Memorial Hospital, Arlington. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Frye Funeral Home, Leland.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Phillips of Chicago; and one niece, Dorothy Ann Coffey of Oakland, Calif.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory five daughters, Allie Richmond of Fort Worth, Texas, Diana Cork, Audrey Malone and Christina (Craig) Falconer, all of Arlington, Texas, and Sally (Freddy) Johnson of Greenville; a grandson whom she reared, William Cork of Arlington, Texas; one sister, Ella (Eddie) Jakewell of Greenville; four brothers, Henry Coffey of Eupora, Van (Odessa) Coffey of Duncan, L.C. Coffey of Chicago and Thomas (Panolia) Coffey of Shelby; a goddaughter, Yolanda Ross of Fort Worth, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four special friends, Lamar Clay, Emmanuel Johnson Sr., Glenda Coleman and Stephen Cooper; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 7 at Frye Funeral Home, Leland.

The Rev. Hudson Augustus will officiate.

Peaches

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Henrietta Wade "Pig" Peaches, 30, of Greenville, a nursing student, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grace Outreach Bible Church, Greenville. She died Feb. 2, 2003, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Survivors include one son, Michael Wade of Greenville; one daughter, Arieanna Peaches of Greenville; mother, Tella Johnson Wade of Greenville; father, Bennie Barber Jr. of Leland; three sisters, Linda Wade (Charles) McCray of Irvington, N.J., Carrie Lee of Markham, Ill., and Mildred Ward (Tyrone) Hanger of Greenville; seven brothers, Frank Johnson, Fletcher Wade, Henry (Demetria) Wade, Terry (Tonya) Wade, Bennie Wade and Johnnie (Kijafa) Wade, all of Greenville, and Jeffery (Laura) Wade of Omaha, Neb.; a special friend, George Wayne Henry of Greenville; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. The remains will lie in state at the church Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Pastor Ruben Lewis will officiate.

Richardson

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Marie Hall "Sis" Richardson, 78, of Greenville will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Grace Temple Pentecostal Church, Greenville. She died Feb. 4, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Marie Hall "Sis" Richardson was born May 1, 1924, to the late Cornelius and Walter Hall. She accepted Christ at an early age. She married the late Robert Richardson Sr. To this union 15 children were born, five of whom preceded her in death, Joseph Hall, George Hall, David Hall, Larry Hall and Jerry Richardson. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Tameka Richardson and Eddie Jones Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories six daughters, Gladys (Eddie) Jones, Mary Richardson, Thelma Richardson and Lorene Richardson, all of Greenville, Vivian (Al) Nicolette of Orlando, Fla., and Sharon (Ronald) Cromuel of Harrisonburg, Va.; four sons, Walter Richardson, Frank Richardson, Otis Hall and Donald (Sylvia) Hall of Harrisonburg, Va.; one stepson, Robert Richardson Jr. of Greenville; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two special lifelong friends, Mamie Williams and Helen Taylor, both of Greenville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Greenville.

Elder George Ford will officiate.

Wells

LOS ANGELES -- Funeral services for Percy "Tampa' Wells Sr., 72, of Los Angeles and formerly of Greenville, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Luke MB Church, Metcalfe. He died Jan. 27, 2003, at St. Mary Medical Center, Long Beach, Calif. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Brother Percy "Tampa" Wells Sr. was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Claiborne County, Miss., to the late George Warren and the late Mary Wells. He confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Hopewell Church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit pastored by Pastor Clarence Green. He served as a faithful member until his health failed.

He leaves to cherish his memories four sons, Percy (Denise) Wells Jr. of Los Angeles and Nathaniel (Mona) Wells, George (Janna) Wells and Patrick Wallace, all of Greenville; two daughters, Ruby (John) Johnson of Danville, Ill., and Georgia (Willie) McVay of Greenville; one sister, Diane Coleman of Columbus, Ohio; 22 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. The remains will lie in state at the church Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Pastor B.T. Benson is pastor of the church. Pastor Clarence Green will officiate.

Frank

DREW — Funeral arrangements for Karmonie Frank, 26, of Dallas and formerly of Drew are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville. He died March 23, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Dallas.

Harris

GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Henry Lee Harris, 53, of Greenville are pending at Harris, Brown & Marion Funeral Home, Greenville. He died March 24, 2003, at his home.

Jackson

DREW — Funeral arrangements for Marcus B. Jackson, 26, of Dallas and formerly of Drew are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville. He died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident March 23, 2003, in Dallas.
