YAZOO CITY -- Funeral services for Lenore Hall Vaughan, 91, a retired school teacher of Yazoo City, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Yazoo City. She died Jan. 29, 2003, at The King's Daughters Hospital, Yazoo City. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Yazoo City, under the direction of Stricklin King Funeral Home, Yazoo City.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn McDermott of McKeney, Texas, Cindy Foose of Oxford and Lucy Wynn of Indianola; one son, Stewart Vaughan Jr. of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Martha Coker Convalescent Home, 401 E. Ninth St., Yazoo City, MS 39194; or First Presbyterian Church, 231 N. Washington St., Yazoo City, MS 39194.

The Rev. Joe Easterling will officiate.

Braswell

INDIANOLA -- Funeral services for Dexter Lydell Braswell, 35, of Indianola will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Card Funeral Home, Indianola. He died March 11, 2003, at South Sunflower County Hospital, Indianola. Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janelle Vance Braswell.

Survivors include his father, Dewey Loyd Braswell of Sunflower; and his caretaker, Beverly Winstead.

Bush

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Funeral services for Nora Smith Bush, 90, of Jacksonville and formerly of Greenville, Miss., will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Nowell Funeral Home chapel, Clarksdale, Miss. She died of heart failure March 10, 2003, at Atrium Health Center, Jacksonville. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Clarksdale.

She was born Feb. 10, 1913, in Carrollton, Miss. She was a retired clerk for the Department of Agriculture after 28 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Hutson of Atlanta, Ga., and Nancy Cunningham of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Corinne Hyde of Pensacola, Fla., Catherine Ligon of Memphis and Odelle Adkins of Fort Myers, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kirk Hobbs of Valpariso, Fla., Celeste Bilson of Atlanta, Ga., and Stephanie Rawls of Orlando, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren, Montana Hobbs and Reagan Hobbs.

Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Nowell Funeral Home, Clarksdale.

The Rev. L. David Cunningham will officiate.

Ferguson

VICKSBURG -- Funeral services for Hautense Moore Ferguson, 85, of Vicksburg and formerly of Hollandale, a retired nurse's aide, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Lake Washington Baptist Church, Glen Allan. She died of heart failure March 10, 2003, at River Regional Medical Center, Vicksburg. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery, Glen Allan, under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

She was born in Flora, Miss., and moved to Delta City, where she received her education. She later made her home in the Glen Allan area, and worked as a nurse's aide, retiring at The King's Daughters Hospital in 1977. She was a member of Lake Washington Baptist Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Martha Cockrell of New Athens, Ill., Bennie Nell Brown of Vicksburg, Kathryn Hogue of Glen Allan, Myrtle Rea Cooper of Tylertown and Juanita Goodman of Alexandria, La.; three brothers, Ray Moore of Bowden, Ga., Donald Moore of Birmingham, Ala., and James Moore of Moorhead; one sister, Shellie Jones of Anguilla; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lake Washington Baptist Church, Glen Allan.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Ford

LOUISE -- Funeral services for Algie Lee Ford, 68, of Louise, a farmer, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill MB Church, Louise. He died of heart failure March 5, 2003, at Humphreys County Memorial Hospital, Belzoni. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery, Louise, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Belzoni.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Ford of Louise; four sons, Algie Ford, Ricky Rod, Willie Penamon and Rodney Penamon; seven daughter, Bobbie Morning, Mildred Ford, Sherry Ford, Brenda Humphreys, Nakeda Armstrong, Tameka Penamon and Lisa Ford; and his mother, Annie Ford of Louise.

Visitation will be Friday from noon to 5 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home chapel, Belzoni.

Johnson

GREENVILLE -- Funeral arrangements for Estella Johnson, 95, of Greenville are pending at Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville. She died March 11, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville.

Marshall

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Rhea Fisher Marshall, 90, a Greenville Compress Co. retiree, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville. She died March 9, 2003, at Hospice Ministries, Ridgeland. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery.

Mrs. Marshall was the widow of Joe Frank Marshall. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church and United Methodist Women's Circle No. 2. She was a former resident of Greenville.

Survivors include one daughter, Jo Alice (Walt) Grayson of Brandon; one granddaughter, Tammy Johnson Mathis of Brandon; one grandson, Jason Johnson of Fort Smith, Ark.; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren, Keri Horn of Brandon and Jeff Johnson of Fort Smith, Ark.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville.

McGhee

SYMONDS -- Funeral arrangements for Earl McGhee, 68, of Symonds are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Rosedale. He died March 10, 2003, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland.

Thorns

SHAW -- Funeral arrangements for Bessie J. Thorns, 77, of Shaw are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. She died March 11, 2003, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland.

Adams

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for James Richard Adams, 88, of Greenville, a merchant/businessman, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Greenville. He died of heart failure July 29, 2003, at The King's Daughters Hospital, Greenville. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mr. Adams was born in Porterville, Miss., where he graduated from public schools. He attended East Mississippi Junior College in Scooba, Miss., and Draughn's Business College in Memphis. He owned and operated the Greenville 5 & 10 store for 38 years until retiring in 1990. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a longtime Sunday school teacher. He also taught Sunday school at the Bessie J. Taylor Home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Letizia Bologna Adams. Of all his commendations, the finest came from his late wife, Letizia, who said of him, "I couldn't have married a kinder, more gentle man."

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Douglas Lloyd Adams (Pat) of Indianola and Dr. John Randall Adams (Lottie) of Jackson; and three grandchildren, Tom Adams of Sylacauga, Ala., Elizabeth Adams of Indianola and Alice Adams of Jackson.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Bland

GREENVILLE -- Funeral arrangements for Henry Bland, 86, of Greenville are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. He died July 29, 2003, at Legacy Manor, Greenville.

Brown

METCALFE -- Funeral services for Minnie C. Brown, 89, of Metcalfe will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Calvary MB Church, Metcalfe. She died July 24, 2003, at her home. Burial will be in St. Luke Cemetery, Metcalfe, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mrs. Brown was born May 8, 1914, in Carrollton, Miss., and was the daughter of Alice Beck and Ned Boulton. She grew up in Moorhead, Miss., and there she met and married Ben Brown. They had 12 children and remained married for 47 years, until his death in 1977.

She was preceded in death by her husband; four sons, Billy Brown, Robert Brown, Willie Brown and Lugene Jackson; and one daughter, Creola McMullen.

Survivors include two sons, Frank (Lillie) Brown and Ned (Joyce) Brown, both of Philadelphia; five daughters, Katie Monroe, Bennie James and Dorothy (Curtis) Montgomery, all of Metcalfe, and Bettie Brown and Barbara Brown, both of Pleasantville, N.J.; 39 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m., with family hour from 6 to 7 p.m., at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Greenville.

Pastor Richard Mosley will officiate.

Edwards

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Lawrence "Leon" Edwards, 49, of Greenville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Jake's Chapel MB Church, Greenville. He died July 25, 2003, at University Hospital, Jackson. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Survivors include one son, Lance Lawrence Richardson of Greenville; two daughters, Equanda Wright of Memphis and Rolanda Carter of Houston, Texas; 10 brothers, Johnny (Ester) Johnson, Eddie (Alice) Edwards and Eddie Dean (Almeda) Johnson, all of Chicago, Peter Haythorne of Toledo, Ohio, Forest (Jenetta) Johnson, Robert Johnson, James (Lea) Johnson Sr. and Andrew (Katherine) Johnson, all of Milwaukee, and the Rev. Charlie (Augustine) Johnson and Willie (Nancy) Johnson, both of Greenville; five sisters, Mary Brown, Barbara Edwards and Cassie (Kelly) Hill, all of Leland, Yvonne (Earl) Jones of Greenville and Willie Mae Johnson of Milwaukee; a dear mother in Christ, Mrs. Ruth Watkins of Greenville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Greenville.

Pastor C.W. Ray will officiate.

McCool

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Everette Eugene McCool, 63, of Greenville, a meat cutter, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville. He died of heart failure July 29, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville.

He was born in Skene, Miss., and moved to Leland at an early age with his parents. He attended Leland High School. He was employed most of his life with SuperValu and was market manager at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Brackin McCool of Greenville; one daughter, Becky M. Tarver of Greenville; one son, Wendell McCool of Greenville; four sisters, Alice M. Bowden and Judy M. Milam, both of Greenville, and Patsy M. Welch and Dorothy M. Utz, both of Leland; two brothers, James McCool of Philadelphia and Tommy McCool of Tillatoba; and one grandson, Logan Tarver of Greenville.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.
