Isaac Blocker Jr.

Isaac Blocker Jr., 62, of Austin, Texas, and formerly of Magnolia, died Aug. 20, 2009, at Hospice Austin Christopher House in Austin.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 tonight at Cook’s Enterprise Funeral Home in McComb. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert E. Cook officiating, with the Rev. Chad Williams, pastor, assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Blocker was born Nov. 14, 1946, in Pike County. He was the son of Isaac Blocker Sr. and Martha Cook Blocker Daniels.

He was a court security officer. He was a 1964 graduate of Eva Gordon Attendance Center and attended Mississippi Valley State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War and retiring as a SFC E-7 after 20 years of service. He was a member of True Life Baptist Church in Austin, under the leadership of Pastor J.R. Williams. He was previously a member of Pleasant Spring Missionary Baptist Church, which he joined early in life.

Mr. Blocker was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Henry Daniels; an infant son, Isaac Blocker; a sister, Caroline Travis; two nephews, Trennis La-Fendrich Daniels and Minister Ken Blocker; and grandparents, Joe and Hattie Cook and Ruffin and Cora Blocker.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Blocker of Austin; three sons, Isaac Blocker III and his wife Shontae of Fort Dix, N.J., Thomas Blocker of Willingboro, N.J., and Cory Collins of Austin; two daughters, LaToya Blocker of Los Angeles and Travonda Blocker of Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Dillon and his wife Marilyn of Silver Springs, Md.; two sisters, Eunice Brister of Jackson and Mary Lee and her husband Augusta of Marietta, Ga.; three uncles, Matthew Cook Sr. and the Rev. Hosea Cook and his wife Ollie, all of Magnolia, and the Rev. Robert E. Cook and his wife Rosia of McComb; a great-aunt, Audrey Weatherspoon of Magnolia; a great-uncle, John Weatherspoon of Magnolia; three sisters-in-law, Sylvia Bratcher and Rose Wright, both of Austin, and Ardelia Allen of Diamondhead; and some special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

James M. Sessions III

James M. “Jimmy” Sessions III, 83, of Woodville, died Aug. 27, 2009, at his residence.

Visitation is 6 to 8 tonight at Woodville United Methodist Church and 10 a.m. Saturday until services there at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Newman Funeral Home in Centreville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sessions was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Woodville. He was the son of the late James M. Sessions Jr. and the late Berta Chadwick Sessions.

He was a banker, farmer and veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Woodville United Methodist Church and a Mason. He was a member of Tansey Island Hunting Club and was an avid fisherman and Louisiana State University fan. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joann Copeland Sessions of Woodville; a daughter, Ellen Sessions of Woodville; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Donna Sessions of Natchez; a sister, Carolyn Kee of Woodville; two grandchildren, Corley Anne Sessions and Mary Frances Sessions, both of Natchez; and a close fishing companion, Jimmy Corey Jr. of Woodville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodville United Methodist Church, Hopewell A.M.E. Church in Woodville, Community Pentecostal Church of Wilson, La., or First Pentecostal Church of Sanders Fork.

Charles ‘Red’ Anderson

Charles “Red” Anderson, 48, of Liberty, died Aug. 22, 2009, at his residence, after a lengthy illness.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Peoples Undertaking Co. in McComb. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Amite River Baptist Association Building in Liberty, with the Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery in Liberty.

Mr. Anderson was born July 11, 1961, in New Orleans. He was the son of Annie Mae Robinson Anderson Cox of Kenner, La., and the late C.B. Anderson.

He worked for Ray’s Tire Service in Kenner, La., for 12 years and was a dry feeder at Sam Mabry Lumber Co. for more than 10 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his father; a son, Charles Payne; and grandparents, Anderson Robinson Sr. and Louella Bates Robinson, and Hewlett and Mary Anderson.

Survivors include his mother Annie and her husband, Herman Cox of Kenner; his wife, Willye Ann L. Knox Anderson of Liberty; three daughters, Renata Payne of New Orleans and Tattiana and Imani Anderson, both of Liberty; two grandchildren, D’Ronze and Rontez Malcom, both of New Orleans; three brothers, C.B. Anderson Jr. of Magnolia, Calvin Anderson of Kenner and Marvin Anderson Sr. and his wife Bridgett of LaPlace, La.; a sister, Dionne Weathersby of Kenner; a godbrother, Carroll Weathersby of Liberty; special fishing buddies, Elijah Harrell and Andrew “Shug” Powell, both of Liberty, Woody Monroe of Woodville, Alvin Tate of Gillsburg and Johnny Scott of Magnolia; five special friends, Madell Bates of Gillsburg, Curtis Reed of New Orleans, Della Reed of Liberty, Dennis Chandler of Brandon and Darrell Allen of Magnolia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Inellia B. Mark

Inellia B. Mark, 80, of Tylertown, died there Aug. 20, 2009, at Walthall County General Hospital.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at Ginn Funeral Home in Tylertown. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Dexter Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Walthall County. The Rev. Reginald Russell will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Mark was born March 29, 1929, in Walthall County, to Hubert Bickham and Ollie Weary Bickham.

She was retired and was a member of Dexter Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the vocal choir, usher board, Kitchen Committee, senior choir and Senior Mission. She also served as the church custodian.

Mrs. Mark was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Deacon Presley Mark; two daughters, Lynetta Joyce and Arella Wenevar Dinkins; three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include one son and a daughter-in-law, Hyread and Edwina Mark of Louisiana; seven daughters and four sons-in-law, Joe Ann Collier, Rovella Stoner, and Glenell and the Rev. Bobby Brown, all of Mississippi, Doris and Bobby Foster and Alma Mark, all of California, and Venda and Deacon Robert Gamble, and Barbara K. and the Rev. Louis Smith, all of Louisiana; a sister, Ametia Mark of Mississippi; 25 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Gamble, Robin Gamble, Brian Brown, Semaj Collier, Dennis Bell and Ricky Carter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Jefferson, Curtis Owens, Deacon Sharfield Mark, the Rev. Louis Smith, the Rev. Bobby Brown, Deacon Robert Gamble, Deacon Hyread Mark and Deacon Huey Lee Bickham.

Lindberg Lucas

Lindberg Lucas, 81, of Tylertown, died Aug. 24, 2009, at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans.

Visitation is noon to 6 p.m. Friday at Washington Funeral Home in Tylertown, with family time from 6 to 8 p.m. Services are noon Saturday at Dillon Hill C.O.G.I.C. in Tylertown, with the Rev. Jimmy J. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in South Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery in Prentiss.

Mr. Lucas was born Feb. 22, 1928, in Silver Creek, to Shelton and Rhoda Lucas.

He was a funeral director and insurance agent at Washington Funeral Home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War, and he was a member of American Legion Post No. 120.

Mr. Lucas was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie Nell Lucas; son, Willie Earl Lucas; and five siblings.

Survivors include a daughter, Denise Lucas Foxworth and husband Marcell of New Orleans; a son, Russell Lucas and wife Barbara of Tylertown; grandchildren, Tasha Lucas Youmans of Debary, Fla., Byron Lucas of San Diego, Latoya Sibley of Frankfort, Ky., and Lisette Williams, Ashleigh Foxworth and Meghan Foxworth, all of New Orleans; and siblings, Charles Lucas of Greenwood, Elnora Lucas and Shelton Lucas Jr., both of the Lucas community, Lavern Lucas and Arganie Lucas, both of Los Angeles, James Lucas of Chicago and Annie Partee of Blytheville, Ark.

Lucious Williams

Lucious Williams, 71, of McComb, died Aug. 26, 2009, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete at Cook’s Enterprise Funeral Home in McComb.

Tracey Cowart

Tracey Cowart, 45, of Tylertown, died Aug. 19, 2009, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, after a brief illness.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mesa Mount Olive Church in Tylertown until services there at noon. The Rev. Lannie Williams will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Church Cemetery in Tylertown. Craft Funeral Home in McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Cowart was born Jan. 6, 1964, in New Orleans. She was the daughter of Johnny Cowart of New Orleans and Maud Lee Gatlin Kimble of Tylertown.

She was a homemaker and member of Mesa Mount Olive Church.

Ms. Cowart was preceded in death by a sister.

Survivors include a daughter, Shannon Cowart of Tylertown; one son, Brandon Cowart and wife Tammy of Tylertown; her father, Johnny; her mother and stepfather, Maud and Joseph Kimble of Tylertown; a devoted companion, John Harper of Tylertown; three sisters, Phyllis Monroe and Vanessa Cowart, both of Tylertown, and Tammy Cowart of New Orleans; three brothers, Johnnie Cowart and Ronald Cowart, both of Tylertown, and Bruce Cowart of New Orleans; and two grandchildren.

Alton Magee Sr.

Alton Magee Sr., 91, of Tylertown, died Aug. 25, 2009, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, after a lengthy illness.

Visitation will be noon to 3 p.m. Friday at Craft Funeral Home of McComb and 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Brandon Bay Methodist Church in Tylertown. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Elder Clayton Bullock officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Magee was born June 28, 1918, in Tylertown, to Fleet Magee Sr. and Mary Lewis Magee.

He was retired from Great Southern Box Co. He was a member of Brandon Bay Methodist Church, where he was a trustee, an usher and the church treasurer.

Mr. Magee was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Luvena B. Magee; one son, one sister, nine brothers and three grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Emma M. Harness and Conetta J. Magee, both of Tylertown; three sons, Billy R. Magee and Oliver Magee Sr., both of Tylertown, and Alton Magee Jr. of Chicago; and 16 grandchildren.

Curtis D. Jones

Curtis D. Jones, 49, of Tylertown, died Aug. 27, 2009, at his residence, after a lengthy illness.

Arrangements are incomplete with Craft Funeral Home in McComb in charge.

Charles Ray Anderson

Charles Ray Anderson, 48, of Liberty, died Aug. 22, 2009, at his residence.

Arrangements are incomplete with Peoples Undertaking Co. in charge.

Willie James Martin

Willie James “Crib” Martin, 43, of Gloster, died Aug. 7, 2009, at his residence.

Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Peoples Undertaking Co. in McComb. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Baptist Church, with the Rev. Todd Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Martin was born Sept. 16, 1965, in Liberty, to Della and Ham Martin.

He attended Liberty High School and had been employed by Pine Hills Country Club in Gloster until his health failed.

He was baptized at Liberty Baptist Church at an early age. He married Mary Bradley and they had one child.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents and one brother, Curtis Martin.

Survivors include two daughters, Kimarie Vaughn and Jazmine Martin, both of Liberty; a stepdaughter, Raven Bradley of Killeen, Texas; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Rosa and Mary Martin, Bertha Brashears and Shenita and Timothy Hamilton, all of Liberty, and Scottie Martin of Jackson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Mandy Martin and Randy and Beverly Martin, all of Kenner, La.; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Nell Martin of Metairie, La., Polly Sims and husband Sonny, and Sarah Brown and husband Hurriah, all of Southfield, Mich.; three brothers-in-law and their wives, Sammy and Jackie Bradley, and Robert and Vergie Bradley, all of Liberty, and Clarence and Dee Bradley of Detroit; two uncles, Joshua and O.C. Martin, both of Liberty; four aunts, Willie Neal Martin and Scottie M. Martin, both of Liberty, Ruth Martin of Baton Route and Rose Mary Daviller and her husband Michael of New Orleans; a special nephew, Scott Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
