Ray Earl Wactor
Ray Earl Wactor, 83, of Meadville, died April 11, 2009, at his residence.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 tonight at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery in Meadville.
Mr. Wactor was born Feb. 17, 1926, in Franklin County to James Wactor and Dellie Freeman Wactor.
He was a retired maintenance worker at International Paper in Natchez. He was a military veteran and served during World War II.
Mr. Wactor was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Myers Wactor; one son and a daughter-in-law, Lenox Wactor and his wife Lynn, all of Meadville; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
John D. Boyd
John D. Boyd, 89, of the Sartinville community in Walthall County, died April 11, 2009, at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg.
Graveside services were 12:05 p.m. today in Sartinville Cemetery, with the Rev. Dennis Calcote officiating. Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Boyd was born Jan. 14, 1920, in Tylertown to Webster Boyd and Lena McKenzie Boyd.
He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Walthall County.Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Opal “Buster” Boyd; six brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Ontee Harvey Boyd, and one son, James W. “Jay” Boyd, both of Sartinville; two sisters, Evelyn Smith and Sue Fortenberry, both of Tylertown; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bruce Boyd, Charles Boyd, Lynn Harvey, John Henry Harvey, Garrett May and Ken Ainsworth.

Doris Yvonne Moyd
Doris Yvonne Moyd, 67, of Summit, died April 1, 2009, at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite, La.
Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. today at Cook’s Enterprise Funeral Home in McComb. Services are 4 p.m. Friday at Zion Hill Baptist Church, with Elder James Stokes, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bogue Chitto Cemetery.
Mrs. Moyd was born April 26, 1941, in Pike County. She was the daughter of the late Robert Joseph and Viney M. Brister Joseph Powell.
She was an experienced cook in Rochester, N.Y., where she worked for 35 years. She was a member of Zion Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
Mrs. Moyd was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Billie, Elmo, Charles, Earl, Kenneth, Howard and Herman Joseph; and a son, Sammy Terrell Moyd.
Survivors include her loving husband of 31 years, Sam F. Moyd of Summit; a daughter, Jackie Moyd of Sanford, Fla.; a brother, Shedrick Joseph of San Diego, Calif.; seven sisters and three brothers-in-law, Linda Joseph and Cora and Walter Mitchell, all of Summit, Gloria and Robert Monroe of Rochester, Peggy and Ray Youngblood of Gulfport, Diane Joseph and Nancy Joseph, both of Jackson, and Mary Thomas of Kentucky; a daughter-in-law, Carrie Mitchell of Summit; four brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; two aunts, Annie Mae Knox of Summit and Dorothy Brister of New Orleans; four grandchildren, Keyaire Moyd and Keyamber Moyd, both of Summit, Teyaire McGraffery of McComb and Craig Burroughs of Sanford; two goddaughters, 10 godsons, six special friends and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gladys B. Grady
Gladys Beard Grady, a resident of St. Catherine’s Village in Madison and a longtime resident of McComb, died April 8, 2009, at her residence in Madison.
Visitation is 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb until memorial services at 11. Bro. Ed Sudduth will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Collins Cemetery in Collins.
Mrs. Grady was born Sept. 17, 1931, in Columbia, to E.E. and Sophronia Martin Beard.
A retired nurse, she graduated from Columbia High School, received her diploma in nursing at Methodist Hospital in Hattiesburg and attended the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Memphis, where she became a certified registered nurse anesthetist. She also attended Southwest Mississippi Community College. She practiced for a number of years as a nurse anesthetist. After taking time off to rear her boys, she spent her career in a number of healthcare areas — as a public health nurse, school nurse, hospital nurse supervisor and infection control practitioner.
Her favorite job was being “Nana” to her four grandchildren and “Aunt Glad” to her nieces and nephews. She was active in the McComb Junior Auxiliary and the Parnassus Club, and in retirement, she enjoyed playing bridge and card games with friends and family.
Mrs. Grady was preceded in death by her husband, Hershal Grady; her parents; her brothers, Alton and Earl Beard; and her sister, Louise Beard Jernigan.
Survivors include two sons, David Grady and wife Marsha of Iowa City, Iowa, and Phillip of Brookhaven; grandchildren, Lauren and Meagan Grady of Brookhaven and Robert and Alexandra Grady of Iowa City; her brother, Julius of Semmes, Ala.; and numerous well-loved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Elsie W. Boyd
Elsie Wilkinson Boyd, 83, of Summit, died April 7, 2009, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.
Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb and continues at 9 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Summit until services there at 11 a.m. The Rev. Larry Leblanc will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb.
Mrs. Boyd was born Feb 17, 1926, in McComb, to Lee and Lillian McMichael Wilkinson.
She retired from First Federal Bank and worked at the family restaurant, Justin’s On the Lake. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Summit and the Omega Sunday School Class. She was a devoted wife, mother, nannie, aunt, sister and friend to all who met her. She loved any occasion that brought all of her family together. Her family said, “She was a shining example of God’s love and acceptance to everyone she knew.”
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jack L. Wilkinson; and her sister, Dorothy W. Myers.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Milton Boyd; a son and daughter in-law, Mike and Marshia Boyd; a daughter and son in-law, Darlene and Mike Rawls; a brother, Jerry Wilkinson; four grandchildren, Missy Temple, Michelle Simmons and her husband Darryl, Justin Boyd and his wife Sydni and Danielle Rayborn; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter Temple, Camdyn Temple, Aubrey Rayborn and Caston Rayborn.
Pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews, Joe Boyd, Eric Boyd, David Gunther, Kyle Harvey, Danny Ray McGaugh, Bradley Rials, Chris Rutter and Nick Rutter.
Bertha M. Robinson
Bertha Lee Martin Robinson, 75, of New Orleans and formerly of McComb, died April 2, 2009, at River Parish Medical Center in LaPlace, La.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cook’s Enterprise Funeral Home in McComb. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Bower Baptist Church, with Dr. Willie Tobias, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Robinson, who was retired, was born April 21, 1933, in Amite County, to Frank and Fannie Miller Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles L. Robinson; a son, Arneld Jerrel Robinson; siblings, Willie Lee “Charlie” Martin, Frank Martin Jr., Helen Martin and Billie Lee Martin; and a son-in-law, Edmond Duke Jr.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Eddie James Robinson, Broin and Margaret Robinson and Luther and Mildred Robinson; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley Wells Smith and Wilson, and Annette Robinson Duke; one sister and brother-in-law, Jessie Mae and Vernell Robinson; a sister-in-law, Linda Smith Martin; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
