Hugh Dillon, 91, formerly of McComb, died June 23, 2009, at Gulf State Hospital in Covington, La.

Arrangements are incomplete at Cook’s Enterprise Funeral Home in McComb.

David McKenzie

David McKenzie, 37, died June 23, 2009, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.Arrangements are incomplete at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb.

David Scott McKenzie

David Scott McKenzie, 37, of McComb, died June 23, 2009, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 tonight at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb and 9 a.m. Thursday until services there at 11 a.m. Bro. Larry Romack and Bro. Danny Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.

Mr. McKenzie was born on Feb. 2, 1972, in McComb to Willard and Melba McKenzie of McComb.

He worked for the Mississippi Department of Transportation in the maintenance department, and at Fish and Chick’s Restaurant. He was a member of Navilla Baptist Church.

Scott also was an avid golfer. He graduated from North Pike High School in 1991.

Mr. McKenzie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray Lawrence, Elmo and Mary L. Lee, and Ara and Louise McKenzie.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn W. McKenzie of McComb; his parents; three sons, David A., Brandon Chase and Dalton Treyce McKenzie, all of McComb; two daughters, Dana LeAnne Walker and Kayla Nichole McKenzie, both of McComb; one brother, Jeffrey McKenzie and his wife Susanne of Killeen, Texas; a niece, Susi Farris and her husband Mike of Duncan, Okla.; a nephew, Matthew McKenzie; a sister-in-law, DeeDee Walker of Monticello; his parents-in-law, Dana and Martha Walker of Monticello; and a great-aunt, Jane Brumfield.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Brown, Brad Bellipanni, Bryan Bellipanni, Dana Walker, Matt Maxie, Chip McKenzie, Bert Burris and Jeremy Weekley. Honorary pallbearer will be Ronnie Walker.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Mary Alice Wilkinson

Mary Alice Wilkinson, 71, of Meadville, died June 20, 2009, in Franklin County.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church, Highway 98 East, Meadville, and 9 a.m. Saturday until services there at 10 a.m. Elder Randy Dillon and Elder Mickey Meyers will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilkinson was born March 7, 1938, in Cherry Valley, Ark. She was the daughter of Willie Peterson Faulkner and Mary Lucille Barger Faulkner.
She was a caretaker and a member of Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mother of four as well as mother to so many who had lost their own mother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she will never be forgotten.

Mrs. Wilkinson was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marcus Claude and Julia Wilkinson; a sister, Barbara Jean Davis; brothers, Harold, Tommy and Mickey Faulkner; and infant children, Robert Lanis Wilkinson Jr. and Elizabeth Ann Wilkinson.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Lanis Wilkinson of Meadville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony Wilkinson and Teresa of Orange Beach, Ala., and Terry Wilkinson and Rachelle of Meadville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Robbi Steele, and Susie Sanders and Scotty, all of Meadville; three brothers, Billy, Neil and Paul Faulkner, all of Louisiana; three sisters, Martha Southworth of Arkansas, Norma Franklin of Louisiana and Linda Cook of Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Jesse Arnold, Sal, Tait, Miles and Morgan Fiorello, Blake and Hali Wilkinson and Logan Sanders; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Arnold, Sal, Tait, Miles and Morgan Fiorello, Blake Wilkinson and Larry and Ricky Davis.

Johnnie W. Mitchell

Johnnie Lee Wilcher Mitchell, 64, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of McComb, died June 19, 2009, at her residence in Houston.

Visitation will be at noon Saturday at Capitol Street Church of Christ, 1917 Capitol St., Jackson, until services there at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Garden Memorial Cemetery in Jackson. West Heaven Funeral Home, 3580 Robinson Road, Jackson, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mitchell was born Feb. 7, 1945, in Pike County to Hubert and Rosa Wilcher.
She retired from Verizon Wireless Co. in Houston in 2005. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Monica D. Felton; one brother, Wilbert R. Wilcher; two brothers-in-law, Robert Tate and Maurice Gardner; and a sister-in-law, Elouise Wilcher.

Survivors include her spouse, Michael Mitchell; three children and their spouses, Michelle Thomas and Randy of Atlanta, Rose Pugh and Rickey of Jackson, and Robin Hawkins and Kendrics of Houston; a son-in-law, Frank Felton of Jackson; 13 grandchildren; three sisters, Margie Wilcher Gardner of Chicago, Hilda Wilcher Tate, and Katherine Jackson and her husband C.B., all of McComb; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, William Wilcher and Ora, Albert Wilcher and Lurena, Earl Ray Wilcher and David L. Wilcher; a nephew who was like a brother, Hubert Wilcher and his wife Adnedra of Charleston, S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Ruth O. Washington

Ruth O’Neal Washington, 78, of Summit, died June 23, 2009, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Summit Missionary Baptist Church, until services there at 3 p.m. The Rev. Robert Vick Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Summit.

A repast will be held at the church.

Young’s Funeral Home in Summit is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Washington was born Feb. 26, 1931, in Liberty to Haney and Lula B. Houston.

She was a retired dietician, formerly employed at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of Summit Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Washington was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wade Holland Washington Jr.; eight brothers, Sam Jackson, Haney Houston Jr., Eddie, Roosevelt, Vernice, Van, Johnny and Matthew Houston; and two sisters, Willie Mae Swington and Mary Lee Houston.

Survivors include one daughter, Penny Barnes and her husband James of Mableton, Ga.; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Clifton Washington, and Vernon Washington and Eunice, all of Summit, Malcolm Washington and Mildred of Hephzibah, Ga., and Bobby Washington and Karen of Greensboro, N.C.; one sister, Reba H. Branch and her husband Sam of McComb; a devoted niece, Althea Branch; a devoted daughter-in-law, Eunice Washington; a devoted friend, Shenta Young; and a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other family and friends.

Mary F. Martin

Mary Florence Martin, 73 of Liberty, died June 14, 2009, at Wilkinson County Nursing Home in Centreville.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Peoples Undertaking Company Chapel in McComb.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Derrick T. Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Ms. Martin was born Feb. 9, 1936, in Amite County. She was the daughter of F.A. Martin and Laura Green McGhee.

She was employed as a housekeeper at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

She was a faithful member of the usher board at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed her.

Ms. Martin was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Rosa Martin; two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include one son, Arthur Martin and his wife Carolyn of New Orleans; three sisters, Minnie Lee Martin of McComb, Joyce M. Moore of New Orleans and Fern M. White and her husband Ledell of Liberty; two brothers J.C. McGhee and his wife Bea, and Richard McGhee, all of Waterloo, Iowa; two grandsons, Martin Eugene Dunn of Bryan, Texas and Dale McGhee of Liberty; one granddaughter, Rhonda Howard of New Orleans; three great-grandchildren; one aunt, Olivia Martin Patterson of Magnolia; two special cousins, Sarah Taylor and Tammy Taylor, both of Liberty; her extended family: four sisters, Sadie Davis and her husband Willie, Lizzie Campbell and Mildred Powell, all of Liberty, and Wilimea Harrell of Baton Rouge; three brothers, Freddie and Melvin Tobias, both of Liberty, and Lee Tobias of New Orleans; and a host of other relatives and friends.

James ‘Boot’ Ard Sr.

James W. “Boot” Ard Sr., 66, of Ruth, died June 21, 2009, at Beacham Memorial Hospital in Magnolia, after a lengthy illlness.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Young’s Funeral Home in Summit. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in McComb, with Elder Louis Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the Ard and Williams Family Cemetery in Summit.

Mr. Ard was born Aug. 11, 1942, in Lincoln County. He was the son of William Ard of Ruth and the late Mary Lee Ard.

He was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1975 and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in McComb, where he remained a faithful member until his death. He spent his time helping others, sometimes putting others before his family or himself. He loved horses and, most of all, his pigs. He spent a lot of time with his grandbabies, which brought him much joy. He was the best father, husband and friend that anyone could ever wish for.

Mr. Ard was preceded in death by his mother; one brother, Louis Edward “Paul” Ard; one sister, Mary Etta Ard; five aunts, Julia Daniels, Alberta Jackson, Jannie Dean Allen, Dorothy Mae Lovelace and Wilma Rae Williams; 12 uncles, Carl Wayne, Robert, Curtis, Lucious, Clilton “Sunny Boy,” Freddie and James Williams, Curtis Allen, John Lovelace, Joseph Phillips, Williams Jackson and Elec Ard; and two sisters-in-law, Joann and Allie Mae Ard.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Donice Nell Ard; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Carl Ard, and James W. Ard Jr. and Chasity, all of Ruth; two daughters, Brenda Floyd and her husband John of Ruth, and a devoted daughter, Beulah Washington and her husband Lionel of Summit; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Eddie Ard of LaPlace, La., Alvin Ard and Dorothy, and Donald Patrick Ard, all of McComb, and David Ard and Esqueenia of Summit; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Julia Nell Butler and C.H. of Summit, Para Lee Quin and Roosevelt of Tylertown and Norma Tenner and Grover of Fayette; 12 grandchildren, Danielle Murphy and her fiancee Damon Sportsman, Da’Nelle, D’Onnis, Lionel Jr., Danielle P. and D’Lisa Washington, LaKesha Floyd, Dequarelous and Malik Butler, Kiara, James III and Harmony Ard; a host of nieces, nephews, loving relatives, spiritual brothers and sisters and many loving friends.

Jeffie D. Williams

Jeffie D. Williams, 77, of New Orleans and formerly of Magnolia, died June 16, 2009, at his residence in New Orleans.

Visitation will be 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at Majestic Mortuary in New Orleans. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia, with the Rev. Ralph Garner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem MissionaryBaptist Church Cemetery in Magnolia. Cook’s Enterprise Funeral Home in McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Williams was born June 25, 1931, in Magnolia to George Williams and Olivia Brown Williams.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mathilda Williams; one stepson, Roosevelt Slack; two sisters, Beulah Mae Lee and Mordesdella Sandifer; one brother, Alfred Williams; and one grandson, Brad Polk.

Survivors include three children, Tyrone, Sandra and Leroy Polk; six stepchildren, Adrian and Calvin Polk, Marion Joyce, Clyde and Carl Mesley, and Steve Slack Sr.; three brothers, Jessie, Collin and Wilton Williams; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Larry Honeycutt

Larry Honeycutt, 43, of Baton Rouge, died June 12, 2009, at Ochsner Hospital in Baton Rouge.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. Friday at Littlejohn Funeral Home in New Orleans, until services there at 11 a.m. The Rev. Marcus Green will officiate. Burial will be in Magee’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Tylertown. Washington Funeral Home in Tylertown is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Honeycutt was born Sept. 12, 1965, in New Orleans. He was the son of Leon Johnson and Annette Green Johnson of Denham Springs, La.

Mr. Honeycutt was preceded in death by one brother, William J. Trepagnier.

Survivors include his parents; lifelong companion, Troy Lynn Hill of New Orleans; two sisters, Mary A. Gordon of Denham Springs and Alicia Edmond and her husband Ricky of Baton Rouge; four brothers, Lionel Johnson, Leonard Johnson and his wife Toni, and Leon Trepagnier, all of Denham Springs, and Lance Johnson and his wife Lisa of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Jessie Myers of New Orleans; a son, Jalcel Hill of Denham Springs; and Troy Lynn’s children, Brandi, Da-Shane, Da-Shawn, Steven, Raven, Ike and Diddy Hill, all of New Orleans.
