Louise Manuel Woodyear
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Monday at Holder-Wells Funeral Home chapel in Moss Point.
ESCATAWPA - Louise Manuel Woodyear, 74, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, in Pascagoula.
Mrs. Woodyear was born March 1, 1923, in Monroe, La. She was a homemaker and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Freddie Nelson; her parents, William R. and Estelle Manuel; a sister, Jenny Jones; a brother, William "Bud" Manuel and a son, David Nelson.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard Woodyear of Moss Point; a daughter, Estelle Monson of Escatawpa; a son, Charles Joseph Nelson of Mobile; a sister, Johnnie Pogue of Napoleanvillie, La.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Holder-Wells Funeral Home chapel in Moss Point, where friends may call two hours before service time. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Helena.
Charles Richardson Burton, Sr.
Funeral services for Mary Emma Lampkin Price, 90, will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 31, 2002 at Boyd Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Hearn officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Born on May 25, 1912 in Sturgis, she was a retired homemaker and a member of Boyd Chapel United Methodist Church. She died on Aug. 23, 2002 at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Price of Strugis; two sons, Acker Lee Yarbrough of Strugis and Roy Yarbrough of Chicago, Ill.; four sisters, Elizabeth Yarbrough, Ruth Lowe and Gladys Weatherly, all of Ackerman, and Sue Dickerson of Columbus; a brother, Robert Lampkin of Sturgis; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Alice Elaine Blount
Funeral services for Andrew Vaughn Taylor, 87, were held on Aug. 18, 2002 at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Bob Schwanebeck and Rev. Gayle Pope officiating. Interment followed at Bethsalem Cemetery.
Born on Sept. 24, 1914 in Weir, he was a retired machinist for Taylor Machine Works. He was a member of Bethsalem Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and Clerk of the Sessions. He died on Aug. 16, 2002 at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville.
He is survived by his wife, Janie Dale Taylor; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane Carter and Ted Carter of Louisville; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis Taylor of Louisville and Linda Taylor; and two grandchildren.

Myrtle Gillett
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Gillette, 88, were held August 23 at Porter Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Wright, Rev. Bill Mills, and Rev. George Pugh, Jr. officiating. Internment followed at Memorial Park.
Born on September 29, 1913 in Winston County, she was a homemaker and a member of Rocky Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Upton Gillett.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Johns and Cathryn Stokes, both of Louisville; a son, James Gillette, of Louisville; a sister Artence Taylor, Greenville, Ms.; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren.

Born on January 16, 1947, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cotton. He is survived by three sons, Earl Lee Cotton, of Philadelphia; Randy Cotton and James William Cotton, both of Louisville; sisters, Elaine Isaac, Sarah Cotton, Ora Galvin, and Rosie Evans all of Louisville; brothers, Junior Cotton, James Cotton of Philadelphia and Willie Cotton and Cillo Cotton; one grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. Clyde Austin Bishop, Sr.
Funeral services were held November 14, 2002, for Clyde Austin Bishop, Sr., 71, at Barham Chapel in Meridian. Burial was at Forest Lawn Cemetery. He died November 11, 2002. Rev. Bob Wilkerson officiated.
Bishop was born in Birmingham, AL and lived most of his adult life in Louisville and Meridian. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was the former pastor of the First Assembly of God Church of Louisville and the First Assembly of God Church of Kosciusko and the Church of God of Louisville. He was the former chaplain of Delco-Remy in Meridian and member of Trinity Assembly of God Church of Meridian. He was formerly employed with Spartas Corporation of Louisville, Starkville Tool and Die, American Bach of Columbus, and Lockheed of Marietta, GA.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mavis Cummings Bishop of Meridian; son and daughter-in-law, Austin Bishop and Barbara Bishop of Meridian; three sisters, Christine Anderson of Atlanta, GA, Addie Moore of Indianola, and Ethel Ferguson of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Melvin Bishop of Atlanta, GA; and mother-in-law Zelma Cummings of Glen Allen

Master Sergeant Jesse Davis Kerr
Funeral services were held November 14, 2002, for Master Sergeant Jesse Davis Kerr, 67, at Porter Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. Burial was at Hopewell Cemetery. He died November 11, 2002. Rev. James Yarbrough officiated.
Born Feb. 8, 1935 in Choctaw County, Kerr was retired from U.S. Air Force and served in Korea and Vietnam. He earned the rank of Master Sergeant while in the service.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Smith Kerr of McCool; his two daughters, Deborah Kerr of Slidell, LA, and Betty L. smith of Quanah, TX; one son, Marion Davis Kerr of Louisville; mother, Nora Jessie Kerr of McCool; two sisters, Becky Ray of Terry and Peggy Clinton of McCool; one brother, Henry Kerr of Vidalia, GA; and two grandchildren.

George M. "Mike" Hailey
Funeral Services for George M. "Mike" Hailey were held Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of McClain-Hayes Funeral Home. Rev. John Branning and Rev. Ricky Jones officiated. Burial followed in Hailey-Richey Cemetery in Preston.
Hailey, 52, died Monday, Nov. 11, at Riley Memorial Hospital in Meridian. He was a native of Winston County. He graduated from Philadelphia High School where he was an All-American basketball player. He also played high school basketball prior at Bruce and Callaway. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor's degree in History and played college basketball. He received a master's degree in School Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He taught and coached at Bruce, Burnsville Nanih Waiya, and Hancock North Central where he also served as Athletic Director. He retired due to health reasons in 1996. He attended Coy United Methodist Church. He was dearly loved by family, friends, and students.
His is survived by his wife, Beth Hailey of Jackson; one son, Ben Hailey and his wife Beth Hailey of Jackson; his parents, George and Ceceile Hailey of Louisville; and one brother, Marc Hailey of Louisville. Pallbearers included: Larry Davis, Paul Wayne Collins, Mike Kuykendall, Keith Bostick, Lamar Hailey, Phil Hamilton, Neil Metheny, and Albert Wolfe.
Annie Lucille Graham
Funeral services were held November 15, 2002, for Annie Lucille Graham, 94, at Mount Calvary M.B. Church. Burial was at Mount Calvary M.B. Church. She died November 9, 2002. Rev. E.C. Pittman officiated.
Graham was born in Winston County in Aug. 28, 1908. She was a retired public school teacher and member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine Fulwiley of Harrisburg, PA and Emma Spiva of Jackson; one son, Obbie Graham of Louisville; one sister Mary Hudgies of Laurel; and twelve grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Dee McCool
Funeral services were held November 11, 2002, for Dee McCool, 72, at Noxapater Methodist Church. Burial followed at Noxapater Methodist Church Cemetery in Noxapater. He died November 8, 2002. Rev. Tommy Murphy officiated.
Born Aug 23, 1930, McCool was a farmer and retired Georgia Pacific Forestry Department worker. He was a member of the Noxapater Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Estes McCool of Louisville; three sons, Michael McCool and Sabrina McCool of Ridgeland, Marc McCool and Carrie McCool of Louisville, Robert McCool and Pam McCool of Louisville; three sisters, Nella Staten of Jackson, Evelyn Ray of Jackson, Grace Luckett of Canton; 5 grandchildren, Gwen LaRose of Ridgeland, Tyler McCool, Lindsey McCool Katie McCool and Peyton McCool all of Louisville; one great grandchild Chloe LaRose of Ridgeland; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Billy Wayne Weaver
Funeral services were held November 19, 2002, for Billy Wayne Weaver, 59, at Chester Baptist Church. Burial followed at Chester Baptist Church Cemetery in Choctaw County. He died November 16, 2002. Rev. Russel Mord officiated.
Born July 22, 1943 in Choctaw county, Weaver was a retired district manager for 4-county Electric Power Association and an electrician. He was a member of Chester Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Lois H. Weaver of Ackerman; daughter, Andrea Myers of Starkville; son, David Weaver of Starkville; brother, Jerry Weaver of Ackerman; sister, Jolene Stewart of Ackerman; three grandchildren and fiance, Janice Benson of Starkville.
