Charles Edward Darty Sr

Charles Edward Darty Sr., 50, of Heidelberg, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, at University Medical Center in Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Oak Bowery United Methodist Church in Heidelberg, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Arthur Lewis will officiate.

He was an oilfield worker and a member of Oak Bowery United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Camel Darty Sr., and a brother, Eddie Mac Darty.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Darty of Heidelberg; mother, Vivian Ruth Darty of Heidelberg, three brothers, Camel Darty Jr. of Mobile, Ala., Jack Darty of Heidelberg and Willie Earl Agee of Laurel; two sisters, Dorothy Jones of Miami, Fla., and Annice Jones of Bay Springs; a son, Charles Edward Darty Jr. of Heidelberg; three daughters, Latoya Darty, Shecole Darty and Kierra Darty, all of Heldelberg; and a grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today, at Oak Bowery United Methodist Church.

Johnnie Mae LaRocque

Johnnie Mae LaRocque, 61, of Kiln, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, in Kiln.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Gulf Coast Funeral Home in Pass Christian, with burial at 2 p.m. Tuesday, in Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery in Laurel.

A native of Laurel, she lived most of her life in New Orleans before moving to Kiln. She retired from the Hamburger House restaurant and was avid pet lover.

She was preceded in death by her companion, Charles Rombeck, and two sisters, Dianne Powell and Joyce Pigrenet.

She is survived by three brothers, Pete James of Metairie, La., Richard James of Slidell, La., and Edward James of Marrero, La.; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Powell of Kiln; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to any animal shelter.

Visitation will be held from 8:30-10 a.m. Tuesday, at Gulf Coast Funeral Home in Pass Christian, which is in charge of arrangements.

Willie Earl Nichols

Willie Earl Nichols, 78, of Ovett, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at Perry County Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Richton, with burial in Tiger Creek Cemetery. The Revs. Royce Odom and B.R. Clark will officiate.

He was a truck driver.

Ruth Orlee Blackwell

Ruth Orlee Blackwell, 86, of Laurel, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Laurel.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Laurel. She was a member of the Homemakers Club and served as a Girl Scout leader for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. “Jack” Blackwell.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Jackie Drennan of Jackson and Donna and Pete LaFitte of Laurel; a sister, Marie Creel of Laurel; grandchildren, Nicole LaFitte Gann and her husband Matt Gann, Trey LaFitte and Darrell Drennan, all of Laurel, and Douglas Drennan of Madison; and four great-grandchildren, Marlee LaFitte, Damian Drennan, Donvon Drennan and Sarah Drennan.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Friday, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.

Kamel Bradley

Kamel Bradley, 79, of Bay Springs, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Bay Springs Funeral Home in Bay Springs, with burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery at Pachuta. The Rev. James David Crosby will officiate.

She was a cook and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Osbrone and Alma MaGee.

She is survived by eight daughters, Hazel Turner, Crist M. Mosely, Loretta Anderson and Jimmie Turner, all of Biloxi, Catherine McMillian of Enterprise, Marianne A. Bradley of Laurel and Lorine Bradley and Linda Bradley, both of Bay Springs; five sons, Paul Bradley of New Orleans, La., Jerry Bradley and Mitchell D. Bradley, both of Laurel, Albert D. Bradley of Bristol, Va., and J.P. Bradley of Sioux Falls, S.D.; four brothers, A.Q. MaGee of Africa, James MaGee and Bernard MaGee, both of Rose Hill, and Bufus MaGee of Ohio; and four sisters, Margiree MaGee of Meridian, Juanita Stevens of Washington, D.C., and Dorothy Clayton and Barbara Jones, both of Maryland.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, at Bay Springs Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

William Farrell Breland

William Farrell Breland, 50, of Laurel, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, with burial in Goodwill Baptist Church Cemetery in Jones County. The Revs. Douglas Barber and J.L. Breland will officiate.

The owner of Breland’s Body Shop, he was a member of Goodwill Baptist Church and Free State Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his father, W.L. Breland; a brother, Dwayne Breland; a nephew, Jason Breland; and grandparents, Victor and Myrtis Eubanks and Lee and Ebie Breland.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Skinner Breland of Laurel; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kris and Deanna Breland and Kory and Jeannie Breland, all of Laurel; five grandchildren, Kayleigh Breland, Dalton Breland, Mason Burger, Madison Burger and Ashlie Burger; mother, Dorothy Breland Slade of Laurel; mother-in-law, Barbara Skinner of Laurel; three brothers and sisters-in-law, J.L. and Kay Breland of Rockwall, Texas, Eddie and Charlotte Breland of Laurel and Jamie and Dianna Breland of Guntown; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Dale McKissick of Amory and Belinda and Kelvin Smith of Heidelberg; two sisters-in-law, Becky Myrick of Laurel and Robin Reynolds of Waynesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mickey McDonald, Mike Walley, Larry Johnson, Wayne Pitts, Chris Breedlove and David Hayes. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Walley, George Walters, Dana Pitts, Dustin Pitts, Brandon Evans, Brent Hudson, Tyler Walley, Ryan Walters and Justin Walters.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.

Tyree Carter

Tyree Carter, 86, of Laurel, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at Providence Hospital in Detroit, Mich.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Calvary Baptist Church in Laurel, with burial in Nora Davis Cemetery. The Rev. Vernon Graves will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Blonnie Carter; wife, Corine Carter; a sister, Virginia Young; a son, James Carter; and a friend, Retha Mason.

He is survived by three daughters, Jeanette Carter, Rosemary Carter and Lorraine Dexter, all of Detroit; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today, at Calvary Baptist Church.

Don Wyatt Fall

Don Wyatt Fall, 55, of Lewisville, Texas, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at the Medical Center of Lewisville in Lewisville.

Funeral services were held Oct. 14, at Orchard Road Baptist Church in Lewisville, with burial in Flower Mound Cemetery in Flower Mound, Texas.

He was born Sept. 17, 1951, in Laurel.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wyatt Thornton Fall.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Fall of Lewisville; mother, Kate Fall of Laurel; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jessica and David Hancock, Katie and Jon Waltz and Donna Michelle Fall, all of Lewisville; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn Kelly and Richard Strickland of Bucyrus, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Alyssa Hancock, Chloe Hancock, Sam Waltz, Noah Waltz, Hanna Waltz and Rebekah Waltz.

Pallbearers were Jim Hayden, David Hancock, Jim Ballengee, Jon Waltz and Richard Strickland.

Belinda June Gandy

Belinda June Gandy, 51, of Soso, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, with burial in Union Line Cemetery in Jones County. The Rev. Jim Taylor will officiate.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Soso.

Nolia M. Bruce

Nolia M. Bruce - Services for Mrs. Nolia Beatrice Mims Bruce, 86, of Lexington were held Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Mrs. Bruce, a native of Carroll County, died Feb. 18, 2001 at Lexington Manor Nursing Home.

She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She leaves a son, Haven Bruce of Vicksburg; three daughters, Peggy Bruce Ellis, Rachael Bruce Burden and Kim Bruce Winstead, all of Lexington; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Gage Hynum officiated with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Ricky Winstead, Wayne Ray, Zack Brown, Justin Johnson, Jeremy Triplett, James Burden and Shane Bailey.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. John Downer, George Martin, Robert Thweatt, Paul H. Winstead, Johnny Forrest, Bubba Branch and James Moore Shanks.

Myrtle Davidson

Myrtle Davidson - Services for Mrs. Myrtle Davidson, 78, of Kosciusko, were held Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial was in Parkway Cemetery.

Mrs. Davidson retired from 21 years employment as a seamstress for Garan Inc.

She was also a former carrier for The Clarion Ledger.

She was an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

She died Feb. 20, 2001 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by a daughter, Patsy Franks of Kosciusko; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Guy Sanford Guess

Guy Sanford Guess - Graveside services for Guy Sanford Guess, 88, of West, were held Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. at Brister Cemetery in Holmes County.

Guess, a native of Holmes County, died Feb . 17, 2001 at his residence.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Durant.

He is survived by a daughter, Bettye Sue Hydrick of Mt. Olive, Ala.; five grandchildren.
