Cheryl Tuttle

Services for Mrs. Cheryl Tuttle, 45 of Lexington, Ky., were held Monday at 1 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Tuttle, former assistant dean of students at the University of Kentucky, died July 30, 2003 the the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was the daughter of Maxine Milam and the late Newton Milam.

She served in several positions at the University of Kentucky beginning in 1990. She was Assistant Director of Health Education, Advisor in Central Auxiliary and the College of Pharmacy, and was Assistant Dean of Students/Director of Alcohol Health Education when failing health forced her retirement in 1999.

She is survived by her husband, David Tuttle; her mother, Maxine Milam; a brother, Bruce Milam of Kosciusko.

Rev. Mickey Armstrong officiated.

Pallbearers were Craig Bowman, Jerry Rigby, Johnny Rigby, Rickey Garland, Johnny Edwards and Carmen Gill.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 160 Moore Drive, Suite 201, Lexington, Ky. 40503.

Lottie Woods

Graveside services for Ms. Lottie Woods, 66, of Holmes County were held July 30 at 3 p.m. at Parkway Cemetery.
Ms. Woods, a native of Choctaw County, died July 25, 2003. she was a member of Travelers Rest M.B. Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Ms. Lottie Mildred of Kosciusko; a son, Carl Woods of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Gentry and Amy Hull of Milwaukee; a brother, Max C. Woods of Kosciusko; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Winters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Curtis Winters

Graveside services for Curtis Winters, 58, of Kosciusko were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Parkway Cemetery.
Winters, a logger, died July 31, 2003 at his residence following an illness of several days. He was a native of Attala County.

He is survived by his father, Eugene Winters; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Mae Brown of Kosciusko and Annie B. Armie of Milwaukee; two brothers, Issac Winters and Floyd Winters, both of Kosciusko.

Rev. Theodore Thompson officiated with Winters Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

James W. Allen

Services for James W. Allen, 85, of Kosciusko were held Monday at 11 a.m. at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery.

Allen, retired office manager of Southern Security Insurance in Kosciusko, died Nov. 21, 2003 at the Attala County Nursing Center. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was an accomplished pianist.

He is survived by two daughters, Judy Hood of Jackson and Adrienne Wamble of Kosciusko; a brother, Carlton Allen of Kosciusko; grandchildren, Alicia Box, Chip Hawkins and Jane Claire Overstreet; one great-grandchild, Hanna Box.

Rev. James Salter and Rev. Barry Corbett officiated.

Pallbearers were Icey Day, Ed Allen, Jerry Allen, Larry Allen, Charles Beauchamp and Sam Sample.

Minnie Brown

Services for Mrs. Minnie Brown, 83, of Zama were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Macedonia Cemetery.

Mrs. Brown, a retired stock clerk for Garan Inc., died Nov. 19, 2003 at Leake Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Doty Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Tenne Berry of Ethel; two grandchildren, Suzette Buscoe of Black Hawk and Lisa Moore of Bentonia; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Buscoe and Andrew Moore.

She was the widow of Alvin Brown.

Rev. Tony Black and Rev. Don Ray officiated.

Pallbearers were Elmer Burchfield, Marvin Burchfield, James Horne, Donald Burchfield, Paul Hollis and David Sims.

Memorials may be made to Macedonia Methodist Church.

Raymond D. Collins

Services for Raymond D. "Bubba" Collins, 80, of Kosciusko were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery.

Collins, a retired dealer transit truck driver, died Nov. 22, 2003 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Marine Corps with action in Guam,. Marianes Islands, Okinawa and Ryukyu. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Collins; two sons, David Collins and Eddie Collins of Kosciusko; a sister, Maxine Collins Nethery of Kosciusko; two brothers, Durward Collins of Ethel and James Terry Collins of Kosciusko; grandchildren, Ronald L. Rutherford Jr., Eddie Dewayne Rutherford, Sandra Dees, Raymond F. Rutherford, Eddie Collins Jr., Amy Sue Collins, Greg Collins and Trey Collins; five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Faye Collins.

Rev. Barry Corbett and Rev. Jerry Meggs officiated.

Sheila Ann Blaylock Crowder

Services for Mrs. Sheila Ann Blaylock Crowder, 40, of Durant were held Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. at Southern Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Brister Cemetery.

Mrs. Crowder, a native of Bolivar County, died Nov. 15, 2003 at her residence. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Durant.

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Crowder of Durant; her father, Joe Earl Blaylock of Durant; two daughters, Corinne Elizabeth Crowder and Kayla Ann Crowder, both of Durant; two sisters, Cindy Miles of Durant and Dianne McCool of Houma, La.

Rev. Daniel Blaylock officiated.

Pallbearers were Troy Snell, Gary Snell, Joe Peel, Eddie Johnson, Tim Crowder and Lee McBride.

Dorothy L. Coleman

Stacy A. Coleman, 88, of Memphis, formerly of Kosciusko, died at his home Nov. 5, 2003.

Services were held at Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Chapel Nov. 13 with burial in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.

He was a retired US. Postal Service clerk, a World War II Army veteran and a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Coleman of Kosciusko.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy L. Coleman; three daughters, Sandra Howard, Carol Coleman and Donna Coleman, all of Memphis; one son, Richard W. Coleman of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Lena Zacharias of Foley, Ala.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Stephen United Methodist Church in Memphis or to the American Cancer Society.

Calloway Cole

Services for Calloway Cole, 70, were held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Travelers Rest M.B. Church with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Cole, a custodian, died Nov. 16, 2003 at Methodist Hospital in Jackson. He was a native of Attala County and a member of Travelers Rest M.B. Church.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Rosie L. Cole; four daughters, Brenda J. Cole of Bellwood, Ill., Annie Stewart of Kosciusko, Sherry Harvey and Loretha Cole of Dolton, Ill.; three sons, David Anthony Cole of Kosciusko, Calloway Cole Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa, and Alton Cole of Bellwood, Ill; three sisters, Lula B. Riley of Detroit, Mattie Lee Boatman and Victoria McKinley of Kosciusko; three brothers, Clarence Harmon, Chester Lee Cole and John Henry Cole; eight grandchildren.

Rev. Cleotis Woods officiated with Winters Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
