Arthur C. Witt
Funeral and graveside services for Arthur C. Witt, 33, of Sallis were held Sept. 11 at Bethlehem M.B. Church in Sallis.
Witt, a sales manager, died at University Medical Center on Sept. 7, 2004 after an illness of several months. He was a member of Bethlehem M.B. Church
He is survived by his wife, Karen Witt; daughter Kaci Witt of Sallis; son Curtis D. Witt of Goodman and step sons, Delandis Burt of Sallis and Kiyadh M. Burt of Sallis; parents Arthur C. Witt Sr. and Lillie Diane Witt; sister Vicky Witt of Roseville, Minn.; brothers Kenneth Witt of Sallis, Ricky Witt of Iowa City, Iowa, and Carlos Evans of Grand Rapids, Mich.; grandmother, Reatha M. Harmon, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Rev. Milton Coffee officiated with Winters Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
J. D. Brown
Services for J.D. Brown, 82, of Kosciusko were held Friday at 11 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Brown, a retired salesman for Spot Cash Specialty Co., died Oct. 26, 2004 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy in nine major battles in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Blanton Brown of Kosciusko; a son, John Brown of Meridian; a brother, William Mack Brown of Kosciusko.
Rev. Larry Harvey and Rev. John Ballard officiated.
Pallbearers were Rick Craft, Lamar Pettit, Bennie Aughtman, Gerry Sanders, Dean Rone and Marvin Pollard.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Tolleson, Aaron Tolleson, John E. Skeen, James Pickle, Dobbin Thrasher, John Morris Ward, Glenn Corr and James K. Mangrum.
Donald Dendy
Funeral services for Donald Dendy, 62, of West were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery.
Dendy, a retired lumber company owner, died Oct. 31, 2004 at Hospice in His Hands. He was a member of the Huntington Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Dot Dendy; a daughter, Lisa Dendy of Durham, N.C.; a son, Don Dendy of Jackson; three sisters, Bessie Brown and Loreice Sanders of West, Loraine Stevens of Kosciusko; a brother, Jeff Dendy of Brandon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wyatt Waco and Mary Mable Peeler Dendy.
Rev. James Burrell officiated.
Pallbearers were Kevin McLain, Glen Stevens, Marty Sanders, Barry Ainsworth, Billy Ainsworth and Randy Greer.
J.B. Grantham
Graveside services for J.B. Grantham, 78, of Lexington were held Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Grantham, a native of Carroll County, died Oct. 25, 2004 at his residence. He was a veteran of the National Guard and a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dot Grantham of Lexington; four sons, Kenny Grantham of Bonnielake, Wash., Robert Daniels of Grenada, Anthony Daniels of Gore Springs and Rex Grantham of Braxton; two daughters, Kay Hanson of Graham, Wash. and Teresa Mason of Brandon; a brother, Roy Grantham of Columbus; four sisters, Mary Lois Mims of Columbus, Reese White of Kosciusko, Gladys Ginn of Henderson, Texas, and Vivian Odom of Bay City, Texas; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Samuel Kevin Leach
Services for Samuel Kevin "Woody" Leach, 42, of Brandon, formerly of Kosciusko, were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Bear Creek Cemetery near McCool.
Leach, a surveyor with Banks Engineering and Surveying, died Oct. 31, 2004 at Rankin Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Leach of Brandon; two daughters, Rebecca Leach and Rachel Leach and a son, Wil Leach, all of Brandon; three sisters, Delena Badger of Douglas, Ga., June Moore of Memphis, Jacque Hopkins of Lubbock, Texas; a brother, Keith Leach of Kosciusko.
Rev. Spruce Derden officiated.
Pallbearers were Terry Johnson, Jarrod Phillips, Eddie Lacoss, Ronnie Hutchison, Bill Pettit and Paul Oswalt Jr.
Stephanie Renee James
Services for Mrs. Stephanie Renee James, 26, of Starkville were held Oct. 28 at noon at 15th Street Church of God in Christ with burial in Union Cemetery in Columbus.
Mrs. James, an Algebra and Geometry teacher at Pickens County High School, died Oct. 22, 2004 in Columbus. She was a member of Marantha Faith Center, National Society of Black Engineers, Increasing Minority Access to Graduate Education (IMAGE). She was the recipient of the Kiwana Big Art Award and Horatio Algier National Merit Scholarship. At MSU she had received her B.S. degrees in mathematics and in economics and master's degree in Instructional Technology.
She is survived by her husband, Moses James Jr. of Starkville; step daughter, Ebony Kiara Thomas of Gulfport; mother, Lanell Shields of Starkville; sister, Ashley Shields, brother, Joshua Shields, both of Starkville; grandparents, James Winters of Kosciusko, Rosie and Mack Shields of Columbus; great-grandfather, Ollen Fletcher of Kosciusko.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ollie May Winters, great-grandmothers, Annie Winters and Ophelia Fletcher; great-grandfather, Willis Winters.
Pallbearers were Patrick Edwards, Kevin Jackson, Edward Yeates, Steven Craft, Gary Young and Derrick Jamison.

Mildred O. Odom
Services for Mrs. Mildred O. Odom, 77, of Kosciusko were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Kosciusko City Cemetery.
Mrs. Odom died Nov. 1, 2004 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Cooper Odom; a son, Billy Carlton Ramage of Memphis; two sisters, Agnes Goss and Elaine Moorehead, both of Kosciusko; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Homer C. Sanders Jr.

Lt. Col. Edgar Anthony Parrott
Funeral services for Lt. Col. Edgar Anthony "Tony" Parrott, USAR-Ret., 57, of Richardson, Texas, were held Tuesday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Dallas. A military burial service was held at 2 p.m. at the Dallas-Ft. Worth Veterans' National Cemetery in Dallas.
Parrott, a native of Oklahoma, was the son of the late Felix and Oleta Parrott, formerly of Kosciusko. He was a graduate of Kosciusko High School and after attending Mississippi State University, he joined the Army in 1968, serving in the Vietnam War in 1969 and 1970 as a Cobra helicopter gunship pilot.
He was twice the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross in addition to numerous other medals. While continuing on active duty in the Army for the next seven years, he earned a B.S. degree in psychology from Troy State University. He continued as an Army Reservist for the next 20 years, serving in the Persian Gulf War in 1991, retiring in 1996. His civilian career began in sales including 12 years with General Electric and concluded as an IT manager for Computer Sciences Corp.
He is survived by his wife, Paula "Polly" Boone Parrott; four children, Anthony Christian Parrott, Aubrey Matthew Parrott and Amy Franklin of Richardson, and Angela Parrott Britt of Quinlan, Texas; five grandsons; a brother, Gary Parrott of Sallisaw, Okla.; a sister, Pamela Parrott Smith of Knoxville, Tenn.
He died Oct. 28,. 2004 at his home following a long illness.
Arrangements were handled by Eastgate Funeral Home.
Wallace H. Gentry
Services for Wallace H. Gentry, 79, of Louisville were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Porter Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Ellison Ridge Cemetery.
Gentry, a native of Winston County, retired following 25 years as owner of Gentry's Big Star. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran serving in the Battle of the Bulge in Germany. He was also a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of South Louisville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Eaves Gentry of Louisville; two sons, James Douglas Gentry of Kosciusko, Wallace D. "Bubba" Gentry of Louisville; two sisters, Jamie Scott of Robstown, Texas and Fay Collier of Oak Harbor, Wash.; a brother, Hoyt Gentry of Corpus Christi, Texas; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Timothy Paul Gentry, Larry Gene Gentry and Terry Carlton Gentry.
Officiating ministers were Rev. Bob Faulk and Charles Maples.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries or Baptist Children's Village.
Ennis H. Pettit
Services for Ennis H. Pettit, 78, of Clinton were held Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cem-etery.
Pettit, a retired welder and a native of Attala County, died Nov. 1, 2004 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was a veteran of World War II serving in Okinawa. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Shields Pettit of Clinton; a son, Raye Pettit of Flora; a daughter, Pennye Pettit of New Orleans; four sisters, Bea Edwards of Carthage, Peggy Henderson, Joyce Nails of Grenada and Nell Mullins of Johns; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Rev. J.T. Shields officiated.
Pallbearers were Ron Hopson, Rickey Schlanie, Billy Mullins, Dennis Shields, Brooks Pettit, Scott Christopher, Jerry Shields and Ashley Harris.
