John Raymond Adams
John Raymond Adams, 73, died December 20, 2007 at Monfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko. A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial in the Wake Forest Cemetery.
Adams was a native and life long resident of Thomastown.
Wilma Wells Frazier Steadham
Wilma Wells Frazier Steadham, 88, of Kosciusko died Dec. 22, 2007 at the Attala County Nursing Center. Funeral service sere held Dec. 24 at 9 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery.
Mrs. Steadham, a homemaker, was a member of the First Methodist Protestant Church.
She is survived by sons Monroe (Doris) Frazier of Brandon, Dale (Marilyn) Frazier of Richland, Frank (Donna) Frazier of Denham Springs, La.; daughters, Lottie Mayo of Kosciusko, Virginia (J.B.) Stanley of Kosciusko, Peggy (T.L.) Carr of Attalla. Ala.; step children Lucy Quick, Buddy Steadham, Doris Crenshaw, J.B. Steadham, Brenda Jones and Chris Steadham; 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Emmette Frazier, Walker Wasson and William Steadham.
Rev. Jerry Meggs officiated.
Pallbearers were Joey Hunt, Jeffrey Mayo, Jeremy Frazier, Scott Frazier, Tony Frazier, Joseph Hood and Brad Stanley.
Steve Myrick
Steve “Fat Boy” Myrick, 53, of Kosciusko died Dec. 18, 2007 at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 21, at 1 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery.
Rev. Barry Corbett and Rev. Albert Clark will officiate.
He is survived by a daughter, Lacy Myrick, and his mother, Mae Myrick, both of Kosciusko; two brothers, Michael Myrick of Madison and Dwight Myrick of Kosciusko; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a retired pipeliner, a member of Operating Engineers Local No. 624 in Jackson, and a member of First Baptist Church of Kosciusko. He was a 1974 graduate of Kosciusko High School and earned his Associate of Applied Science degree from Holmes Junior College. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to shoot pool, participating in numerous tournaments.
Pallbearers will be Mike Myrick, Dwight Myrick, Dillon Myrick, Steve Melton, Chris Myrick and Ira T ubby.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hal Armstrong, Victor Gilbert and Bud Moore.
Memorials may be made to the building fund of Kosciusko First Baptist Church.
Haae Bell Barksdale
Services for Mrs. Hattie Bell Barksdale, 92, of Sallis will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Macedonia M.B. Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Barksdale died Dec. 12, 2007 at her residence.

Ida Lee Raridon
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Lee Raridon, 87, of Kosciusko, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Edgefield Cemetery at McCool.
Mrs. Raridon, a native of Attala County, died Dec. 27, 2007 at the Mississippi State Hospital in Whitfield. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Raridon Sr., her parents, Martin Booth and Toy T. Wade Simmons.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara R. Manning, and a son, Mel Raridon Jr., both of Kosciusko.
Visitation will be Friday, 4-6 p.m. at Culpepper Funeral Home.
Rev. Barry Corbett will officiate.
Bessie Mae Winters
Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Mae Winters, 82, of Kosciusko will be held Dec. 29 at 11 a.m., at the Durant Baptist Church with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery at Sallis.
Mrs. Winters died Dec. 24, 2007 at University Nursing Center in Durant.

Agnes Lewis Worthey
Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Lewis “Gram” Worthey, 99, of Pickens were held Dec. 24 at 11 a.m. at the Pickens Presbyterian Church with burial in Quiet Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Worthey died Dec. 22, 2007 at her residence.

Frank Kimes Jr.
Services for Frank Kimes Jr., 85, will be held Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. at Durant M.B. Church with burial in Woods/Kimes Cemetery, West.
He died Dec. 25, 2007 pat the VA Medical Center in Jackson.

Edward Hobson
Funeral services for Edward Hobson, 66, of Philadelphia will be held Saturday at 3 p.m., at Culpepper Funeral Home chapel with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery in the Zama Community.
Hobson, a retired offshore motorman, died Dec. 26, 2007 at Rush Hospital in Meridian. He was a native of Neshoba County and a member of Center Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, David Hobson of Mendenhall and Johnny Hobson of Lafayette, La.; two daughters, Beverly Jeffers and Lynette Fontanille, both of Mendenhall; three sisters, Jean Adams of Kosciusko, Lucy Kelly of Forest, and Janice Waters of Morganton, N.C.; six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Hobson.
John Crowder Cain
John Crowder Cain, 81, of Yazoo City, a farmer and timberman, died Dec. 25, 2007 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Sallis and Bowlin Cemetery in Attala County.
Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City is handling the arrangements.
Cain served as a Coxswain in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Bowlin Baptist Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Sissy Jackson of Rolling Fork, Cindy Sudduth of Inverness, and Kay Stewart of McAdams; son, Bob Cain of Athens, Ga.; four grandsons, Scott Stewart, Chris Sudduth, Jeff Cain and Mike Cain; four granddaughters, Renee Taylor, Rachel Tackett, Lori Davidson and Linda Boyd; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cleta Cartledge and Eugenia Brooks.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Cain; daughter, Mary Catherine Cain; and a grandson, Brad Cummings.
Casell Ward
Services for Casell Ward, 77, of Kosciusko will be held Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. at Christian Liberty M.B. Church with burial in Parkway Cemetery.
Ward, retired from the military, died Dec. 28, 2007 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital.

Ms. Winters died Dec. 27, 2007 at the University Medical Center in Jackson.

Ethelyn S. Hutchison
Funeral services for Mrs. Ethelelyn S. Hutchison, 89, of Kosciusko will be held Jan. 2 at 11 a.m. at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Hutchison, a retired teacher in the Kosciusko City Schools, died Dec . 28, 2007 at the Attala County Nursing Home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Dale Hutchison of Kenner, La., and Robert Louis Hutchison of Rowlett, Texas; two sisters, Christine S. Parker of Leesburg, Fla., and Mary S. Philips of Baton Rouge, La.; seven grandchildren, Karen Pinkard, Meghann Hutchison, Samantha Hutchison, Michael Hutchison, Bryan Hutchison and Hank Hutchison; six great-grandchildren, Josh Pinkard, Jamie Pinkard, Jenna Pinkard, Pacey Whitt, Madelyn Hutchison and Ian Hutchnison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vandy J. Hutchison; son, Joe Hutchison; grandson, Jeff Hutchison.

Abb Morgan Henry Jr.
Abb Morgan Henry Jr., 63, of Kosciusko, a forestry consultant, died Jan. 18, 2010 at his home after a nine-month battle with cancer.
Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 19, 5-9 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 20, 9-10:30 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Kosciusko with burial in Liberty Chapel Cemetery near Ethel. Rev. Barry Corbett, Rev. Mark Parnell, both of First Baptist Church in Kosciusko, and Rev. Jewel Greer of Russellville Baptist Church of Meridian will officiate.
He was born June 24, 1946 in Sturgis, MS. He graduated from Sturgis High School in 1964. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1969 with a degree in Forestry. He began his career with Kopper’s Timber Company, then went to work with Georgia Pacific Timber Company. In 1986, he began his forestry consulting business, Henry Timberland Management.
Abb was a man of integrity, and high moral values who honored God, his family, his church and his friends, above himself. His wit, his humor and his strength will be missed by all who knew him.
He was a member of Kosciusko First Baptist Church, taught Sunday School for a total of over 40 years, taught the Sunday School lesson on television for several years, served as Chairman of Deacons, Chairman of Committee on Committees and established Love Mission in 1994, a citywide children’s ministry of First Baptist. This ministry now involves more than 100 workers and children. Since 1991, Abb had been an active member of the North Mississippi Walk to Emmaus Community.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Edwards Henry of Kosciusko (married on July 8, 1972); son, Abb Morgan Henry III and his wife, Savannah Watkins Henry of Kosciusko; granddaughter, Abbi Laney Brady of Brandon; son-in-law, Gwyn Miller of Ethel; brother, Jack Lane Henry and wife, Phyllis of Sturgis; sisters, Katie Henry Butler of Sturgis and Carole Henry Haynes and husband, Jack of Starkville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Abb Morgan Henry Sr.; mother, Mary Neely Vickers Henry; sister, Zane Henry Bishop; and daughter, Neely Marie Henry Miller.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Breazeale, Jimmy Rigby, Morris Massey, Rob Burnham, Robert Autry, Paul Powers, Louis Jenkins, Gene Richardson, Bubba Pettit, Jewel Greer, Webb Pepper, Dr. Tommy Williamson and Randy Rice.
