Renee Stewart Taylor

Funeral services for Renee Stewart Taylor, 41, of McAdams will be held today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Coleman Cemetery in McAdams.

Visitation is Wednesday, 4-8 p.m.

Mrs. Taylor, a teacher at Winona Christian Academy, died Jan. 28, 2008 at the University Medical Center in Jackson. She was a member of the Sallis Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Mickey Taylor; her parents, Kay and Ronnie Stewart; a son, Ryan Taylor; a daughter, Ashley Taylor, all of McAdams; a brother, Scott Stewart and his wife Laura Leslie of Madison.

Rev. Thomas Wicker will officiate.

Thelma Brett Anderson

Thelma Brett Anderson, 87, of Kosciusko, a housewife, died Jan. 29, 2008 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital.

Visitation, Feb. 1, 5-9 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Kosciusko City Cemetery.

Rev. Phillip Palmertree will officiate.

Mrs. Anderson was born April 9, 1920 in Kosciusko to John Homer and Henrietta Duncan Brett. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kosciusko.

She is survived by daughters, Mary A. Denney of Kosciusko and Ann Shawkat of Augusta, Ga.; sons, H. Douglas (Red) Anderson of Grenada and John Anderson of Jackson; sisters, Wilma Bickis of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Mildred Bailey of Kosciusko and Rachel Matthews of Pearl; grandchildren, James P. Anderson, Shon Denney, Shannon Luedtke, Nedal Shawkat, Miriam Shawkat, Joseph Shawkat, Deidra Helms and Denise Mills; four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Shon Denney, Tommy Helms, Jim Anderson, Nedal Shawkat, Michael Luedtke, and Joseph Shawkat.

Robert E. Frazier

Services for Robert E. Frazier, 65, of Kosciusko will be held Monday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. at Crestview Congregational Methodist Church with burial in Parkway Cemetery.

Frazier died Jan. 29, 2010 at the University Medical Center in Jackson.

He was a native of Attala County and a member of Crestview Church.

He is survived by a niece, Lynn Whittington, and a nephew, Curby Stanley, several great nieces and nephews.

Rev. Jerry Meggs will officiate.

Pallbearers are Monroe Frazier, Frank Frazier, Vernon Whittington, Johnathon Sanders, Steven Mobbs, and Robert Hughes. Lance Mobbs is an honorary pallbearer.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Frazier and Percy Frazier and a sister, Dorothy Marie Stanley.

Culpepper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charlene Jenkins Holt

Charlene Holt 72, of Hesterville, formerly of Thibodaux, La., died Feb. 1, 2008. Charlene now stands in the presence of the Lord.

While here, she was considered to be a special person, often feisty, but loved by all. She will always be remembered for her love of gardening and her two dachshunds, Rusty and Lizzie. Most importantly, her faithfulness to her children and family.

She is missed by her former husband, J.C. Holt, and three children, Susan Bell, James Barry Holt and wife Karen, and son John Keith Holt. Her grandchildren include Gretchen and Samantha Duncan, Else Holt, Maggie and Carson Holt and their mother, Teri Holt; one great-grandson, Paxton Holt.

She is survived by one brother, James Jenkins, and two sisters, Eleanor Howell and Alva Mae Boswell; many cousins and friends as well.

Charlene is preceded by the loss of her mother and father, T.A. and Maggie Jenkins; brothers, Allen, David and Eugene Jenkins; sisters, Mildred Penninger and Margaret Busick.

Graveside services were held Feb. 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Seneasha Cemetery.

Rev. Freddie Matthews officiated.

Pallbearers were Danny Holt, Jimmy Rigby, Carson Holt, Ray Doty, Scott Rigby and Toby Clausen.

Hersendia Robinson

Funeral services for Mrs. Hersendia Robinson, 86, will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Winters Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery.

Mrs. Robinson, a retired cook, died Feb. 2, 2008 at the Vaiden Community Living Center.

Winters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lillie M. Lewis

Services for Mrs. Lillie M. Lewis, 87, a retired sales clerk, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Winters Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery.

She died Feb. 3, 2008 at her residence.

Bessie Roby

Services for Mrs. Bessie Roby, 89, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hill Spring M.B. Church with burial in Barlow Cemetery.

Mrs. Roby died Feb. 3, 2008 in Hinds County.

Winters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Roy Leonard McMillan

Roy Leonard McMillan, 59, died Feb. 1, 2008 at his home in Nordheim, Texas. He was born Oct. 9, 1948 in Kosciusko to the late Bob McMillan and Inell Davis McMillan. He was a graduate of Dublin High School in Coahoma County and attended Mississippi State University.

Services will be held Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Odom officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Attala County.

Survivors include five sisters, Juanaita Guntharp of Pontotoc, Janette Frazier and her husband, Ed of Kosciusko, Mildred Lester and husband Wayne of Meridian, Faye Tackett and husband Roy of Oakland, and Vivian Ervin and husband Glen of Lynchburg, Tenn.; one brother, Ed McMillan of Lambert.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bobby Wayne McMillan.

Pallbearers are Glen Ervin, Roy Tackett, Wayne Lester, Dean Lester, Greg Tackett and Buddy Frazier.

William Dwight Clark

William Dwight Clark, 70, of Kosciusko died Feb. 5, 2008 at his residence. Visitation will be Feb. 7, 5-8 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery.

Rev. Barry Corbett and Rev. Mark Parnell will officiate.

Mr. Clark served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kosciusko.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Clark; a son, Mark Clark and his wife, Laura of Kingsport, Tenn.; two daughters, Kim Pullen and her husband Kevin of Kosciusko, Tammy McGee and her husband Tony of Kosciusko; seven grandchildren, Clark Pullen, Brooke Pullen, Erin Clark, Sara Clark, Michael Clark, Ty McGee and Tori McGee; brother, Joe Clark of Decatur; sisters, Marlene Permenter of Philadelphia, Willene Harris of Pascagoula, and Wanda Ward of Philadelphia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Marzine Clark and Marjorie Odessa Lundy Clark; a brother, Raymond Clark.

Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Pallbearers are Albert Burch, Granville Fulton, Ronnie Sullivan, Jimmy Rigby, Clarence “Bull” McBride, and Brad Permenter.

Bessell Peeler Lenon

Bessell Peeler Lenon, 89, of Kosciusko, a retired senior loan clerk for Jackson Production Credit Assn. for many years, died Feb. 6, 2008 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.

Graveside services were held Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. at Parkway Cemetery with Jordan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Prior to working for Jackson Production Credit Association, she was employed as a bookkeeper with the Attala County School System. She was born Oct. 25, 1918 in the Oak Ridge Community of Attala County. She was a member of Lake Harbor Church of Christ and a former member of South Huntington Street Church of Christ in Kosciusko.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Lenon Maury and her husband Tom, and her granddaughter, Rachel Kittrell Maury all of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Elmer Lenon, and her parents, Ernest and Bertha Brantley Peeler.

Memorials may be made to French Camp Academy, 1 Fine Place, French Camp, Miss. 39745.

Mary Helen Winters

Services for Mrs. Mary Helen Winters, 75, of Kosciusko will be held Feb. 13 at noon at Winters Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Mrs. Winters died Feb. 6, 2008 at the University Medical Center in Jackson following an automobile accident.

William D. Kimbrough

Funeral services for William D. Kimbrough will be held Feb. 12, 2008 at noon at Abraham Chapel M.B. Church with burial in the church cemetery at McCool.

Dotson Funeral Home of Weir is handling arrangements.

Adolphus Harmon

Funeral services for Adolphus Harmon, 86, of Kosciusko will be held Feb. 12, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Winters Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Barlow Cemetery at Sallis.

Harmon, a retired school teacher, died Feb. 5, 2008 at the VA Medical Center in Jackson.

Ernest Docher

Funeral services for Ernest Docher, 50, will be held Saturday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove M.B. Church, French Camp, with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Docker died Feb. 14, 2010.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 19, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and wake 6-7 p.m. at Dotson Funeral Home in Weir.

Larry McBride

Services for Larry McBride, 41, will be held Thursday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. at Fancher Hill M.B. Church, McCool, with burial in the church cemetery.

McBride died Feb. 13, 2010.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 17, noon- 9 p.m. at Dotson Funeral Home in Weir.
