Maggie Jenkins Burrell
Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Jenkins Burrell, 97, of Durant will be held Friday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation is Thursday, Feb. 25, 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Burrell, a native of Madison County, died Feb. 23, 2010 at her residence. She was a member of Seneasha Methodist Church.
She is survived by sons, Warren and Marsha Burrell of Vaiden, Joe C. Burrell of Goodman, Willie “Buck and Mary Nell Burrell of Durant; daughters, Helen and Bob Frazier of Pickens, Jean Warren of Brandon, Mary and Curry Wilson of Durant; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Seneasha Cemetery, Goodman with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ida Mirl Eichelberger
Services for Ms. Ida Mirl Eichelberger, 53, will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. at Still Valley M.B. Church, Louisville. She died Feb. 23, 2010.
Burial will be in Memorial Garden Cemetery, Louisville, with Dotson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday, Feb. 26, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Dotson Funeral Home in Weir and wake is 5-8 p.m. at Still Valley M.B. Church, Louisville.
Alberta Hawthorne
Services for Mrs. Alberta Hawthorne were held Feb. 23, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Silas Grove No. 2 M.B. Church.
Burial was in the Hardy Cemetery with Myricks Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Dora Simmons Burt
Funeral services for Mrs. Dora Simmons Burt, 73, of Sallis will be held March 3 at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem M.B. Church with burial in the church cemetery.
She died Feb. 25, 2010.

Douglas E. "Doug" Rone
Funeral services for Douglas E. “Doug” Rone, 68, of Ethel will be held Wednesday, March 3, at 11 a.m. at Tabernacle United Methodist Church with burial in the Tabernacle Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday, March 2, 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday, March 3, 9-10:30 a.m. at Culpepper Funeral Home.
Rone, who was retired from 42 years of employment with LuVel Dairy, died Feb. 28, 2010. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church where he served as a lay leader and chairman of the board and Sunday School superintendent. He loved his family, his church, gardening, fishing, hunting, grandchildren’s ball games.
He was the son of the late L.B. and Ola Ballard Rone.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Emma Ann Hunt Rone; son, Darren (Susan) Rone of Kosciusko; daughter, Alicia (Chuck) Turner of Brandon; brother, Charles (Diane) Rone of Star; sisters, Edna Lanfair, Gladys Lancaster of Madison, Carolyn Biddle of Brandon and Marie Tanner of Ethel; grandchildren, Glace and Makinzee Rone, their mother, Tanda Rone, Kimberly and Treay Turner, Ryan, Paige and Brady Jackson; great-granddaughter, Mia Jackson; brothers-in-law, Dan, Joe, Dale and Tim Hunt; sister-in-law, Pam Maddox; numerous nieces and nephews.
Rev. Byrd Hillman will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Tabernacle Cemetery Fund.
Bobby Glen Alexander
Services for Bobby Glen Alexander will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel in Phildelphia with Rev. Justin Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery in the Burnside Community of Neshoba County.
Mr. Alexander, 69, of McCool, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
He was born and reared in Clarke County and made his home in Attala County for the past 40 years. He was a member of Glad Tidings Church.
Mr. Alexander was a retired electrician and plumber.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Evie Alexander; and brother, Walter Alexander.
Survivors include his wife, Fay Alexander of McCool; son, Barry Lackey and his wife, Debbie of Ethel; daughter, Dawn Black and her husband, Jeffery of Meridian; grandchildren, Jordan and Brooke Lackey of Ethel and Zane and Cainan Black of Meridian; one step grandchild; one step great-grandchild; and brother, Roy Alexander and his wife, Jerelane of Meridian.
Pallbearers will be Larry Fleming, Mike Alexander, Michael Lee Alexander, Ronnie Alexander, Jerome Hembree, Chris McKinnon, Tommy Hutchinson, and Kenny Britton.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 5 PM until 8 PM at McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia.
Anna Jones Covington
Anna Jones Covington, 101, passed away on March 1, 2010. Born Emily Vianna Jones on June 30, 1908, she was the oldest of the nine children of James Franklin Jones and Minnie Lee McCrory Jones.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home in Durant. Interment will be at the Seneasha Cemetery in Goodman.
Throughout her life, “Miss Anna” enjoyed gardening and her many canine companions. She was a member of Shrock United Methodist Church, Shrock United Methodist Women, and the Society of Descendants of Washington’s Army at Valley Forge through the service of her great-great-grandfather Ensign James McCrory, 9th North Carolina Regiment.
Survivors include three children, Christine Vianna Covington of Goodman, Duncan Cicero Covington of College Station, Texas, and Noel Jones Covington Sr. of Goodman; one brother, Tommy Jones (Nancy) of Kosciusko; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Duncan Noel Covington; an infant daughter; a son, James Howard Covington; and seven brothers, William Jones, Johnny Jones, Walter Jones, Melvin Jones, Lee Anderson, Cecil Jones and Bennie Jones.

Mildred Juanita Minshew
Funeral services for Mildred Juanita Minshew, 83, of Kosciusko will be held Thursday, March 4, at 3 p.m. at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Singleton United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Minshew, a native of Attala County, died March 2, 2010 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Singleton United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Ken Minshew of Carthage; two daughters, Shirley Hutchison of Kosciusko and Debbie Crouch of Vaiden; two grandchildren, Stevie Hutchison and Kayla Lee; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dixon Minshew.
James Lee
Services for James Lee, 39, will be held Wednesday, March 10, at 11 a.m. at Travelers Rest M.B. Church with burial in Marble Rock Cemetery.
He died March 3, 2010.
Visitation is March 9, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Dotson Funeral Home in Kosciusko.
Margie Bell Ashford
Funeral services for Margie Bell Ashford, 80, of Kosciusko will be held Tuesday, March 9, at 1 p.m. at Winters Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Brooks Cemetery.
She died March 3, 2010 at University Long Term Care Center in Durant.
Ethelyn G. Reynolds
Ethelyn G. Reynolds, 92, of Kosciusko, a homemaker, died March 6, 2010 at the Attala County Nursing Center in Kosciusko.
Visitation is Monday, March 8, 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, March 9, noon to 2 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Mark Parnell will officiate.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kosciusko. She was a sales clerk for Leonard’s Department Store, the Attala County Co-op, Wal-Mart and Morgan’s Beauty Shop. She also lived in Canton for a brief time.
Survivors are daughters, Mary Bryan and husband, Bill of Camden, AR, Sheila Turner and husband Don of Brandon, and Janet Halteman of Kosciusko; grandchildren, Jeff Turner of Augusta, GA, Lindsay Turner of Oxford, Jennifer Clingan and husband, Dr. Warren Clingan of Mountain Brook, AL; great-grandchildren, Camille Clingan, Jude Clingan and Clementine Clingan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dana Dallas Reynolds; parents, Abe Lampkin and Ruth Gowan Greer; and her brother, Joe Greer of Memphis.
Memorials may be made to the TV Ministry of First Baptist Church of Kosciusko.
Farron Cade Weeks
Services for Farron Cade Weeks, 79 of West were held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Southern Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Smyrna Cemetery in Attala County.
Mrs. Weeks, a native of Attala County, died March 2, 2010 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
She is survived by sons, Kenneth Weeks , Timothy R. Weeks of West, Larry Weeks of Durant; daughters, Margaret Ann Adcock of Sallis and Nancy Gray of Thomastown; brothers, William Cade and James “Knotty” Cade, both of West; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Rev. Jerry Tate officiated.
Pallbearers were Jason Weeks, Brian Cade, Jonathan Weeks, Jeremy Adcock, Chris Adcock and Bill Cade. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Adcock, Matthew Cade and Tripp Cade.
Eula Virginia Ables Jones
Services for Eula Virginia Ables Jones, 97, of Goodman were held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Seneasha Methodist Church with burial in the Seneasha Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones, a native of Attala County, died March 3, 2010 at her residence. She was a Methodist.
She is survived by sons, Paul Jones of Goodman, Melvin Jones of Durant, Walter Edward Jones of Florence, Billy Joe Jones of Kosciusko, Lonnie Pat Jones of Goodman; daughters, Bessie Cauthen of Jackson, Bernice McCully and Eula Price, both of Pearl; a brother, Melvin Eugene Ables of Yazoo City; 21 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Franklin Jones; son, James William Jones; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
Rev. David Cain officiated.
Pallbearers were Ray Cauthen, Bill Cauthen, Paul Jones Jr., Joe Mcnamee Jr., James Jones and Will Burrell.
Edwina Martin
Graveside services for Edwina Martin, 97, of Canton were held Monday, March 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Mizpah Cemetery in Durant.
She died March 5, 2010. She was a native of Holmes County.

W.C. (Doug) Tubby
Funeral services for W.C. (Doug) Tubby, 54, of Kosciusko were held Monday, March 8, at 11 a.m. at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery.
Tubby, a native of Kosciusko, died March 6, 2010 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital. He was a Baptist. He was the son of the late Willie and Lottie Moss Tubby.
He is survived by brothers, Daniel (Patty) Tubby, Ira (Bear) (Cynthia) Tubby of Kosciusko; sisters, Rita (Bob) Shon and Brenda Hutchison, of Arnold, MO; several nieces and nephews.
