Jane Mason
Jane Mason, age 55, a native and life-long resident of Biloxi, died Wednesday, October 31, 2007, in Gulfport. Mrs. Mason was a member of Northside Assembly of God Church in Biloxi. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her father, Herman Bosarge; mother, Doris Ladnier; and sister, Beatrice Cooper. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Steve Mason, of Biloxi; daughters, Tammy Johnson and husband, Brad, of Vancleave; Tina Bursey and husband, Steve; and Stephanie Buchanan and husband, Anthony, all of Gautier; sisters, Deborah Parker; Dorothy Holland and husband, Danny; and Joyce Rhoden and husband, Sidney, all of Ocean Springs; brothers, Herman Bosarge, Jr., and wife, Darlene, of Ocean Springs; Ronald Bosarge and wife, Wanda; Charles Ladnier, all of Gulfport; and Edward Ladnier, of Pensacola, FL; and grandchildren, Steven, Corey, Janee, Kayla, Dylan, Little Anthony, and Stephon. A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. today, Friday, November 2, 2007, at Northside Assembly of God Church on Lemoyne Boulevard in Biloxi. Memorial contributions may be made to Teen Challenge, 228-769-8332. THE RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Beauvoir Road in Biloxi, is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Crawley
Ruth Strickland Crawley, 70, of Biloxi, died Saturday, November 3, 2007, in Biloxi. She was a native of Pensacola, FL, and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She collected antiques and had a large collection of rabbits. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Rosique, and 3 brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband, William C. Crawley, Biloxi; 3 children, James C. Strickland, Jr., Biloxi, Donna (Trey) Nichols, and Denise (Joe) Joyce, both of Gulfport; 2 sisters, Vera Pringle, St. Augustine, FL, and Dessie Trenda, New Brumfields, TX; and 5 grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, November 8, 2007, at Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of South MS, 2615 Hwy 49, Gulfport, MS 39501. The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.

Jimmie Lewis
Mr. Jimmie H. Lewis, age 66, resident of Gulfport, died on Tuesday, October 30, 2007, in Gulfport. Mr. Lewis served his country in the U. S. Navy, where he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He retired after 21 years as a Sr. Chief. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a 4.0 GPA. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Gulfport and was a sports fan (his favorite being the Atlanta Braves.) He enjoyed fishing and coaching his children, and was always willing to spend time helping kids. He was a very organized person, who loved spending time with family and neighbors. He will be remembered for his loving spirit. At one time he had worked for Mississippi Power and and as a warehouse supervisor for a major appliance company. His pet, JoJo, was his constant companion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold D. Lewis and Evelyn Ridlin Scroczynski; stepfather, Harold Scroczynski; brothers, Wayne and Donnie Scroczynski; son-in-law, Larry A. Chase; brother-in-law, Glenn A. Summers. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Dorris "Sue" Polk Lewis of Gulfport; children, Kenneth Lee Lewis of Mobile, AL and his wife Mary Frances, and Karen Lynn Chase of Chickasaw, AL; sister, Fran Summers of Morrilton, AR; grandchildren, Amanda Christine and Jessica Marie Lewis, and Stephanie Lynn and Larry A. Chase, II; great grandson, Connor A. Chase. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church, AWANA children's ministry, 12200 Dedeaux Rd., Gulfport, MS 39503. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2007, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Highway 49 North, Gulfport, where friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.

Samuel Tenly
Samuel C. Tenly, age 89 and a resident of Gulfport, died on Friday, November 2, 2007 in Gulfport. Mr. Tenly was a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast and was a member of the Baptist faith. He also served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Tenly was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry & Frances Beville Tenly; his son, Wayne Tenly; three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Edith Tenly of Bay St. Louis; his son, Rodney Tenly of Valdosta, GA; his daughters, Connie (Robert) Adair of Slidell, LA, Carol (Brian) Spychalski of Gulfport and Carla (Raymond) Schmitt of Bay St. Louis; his sister, Isabell Wenzel of Gainesville, FL; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 12 Noon at THE RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.

Marvin Cuevas
Mr. Marvin Juby Cuevas, Jr., age 57, of Saucier, died Thur. 11-1-07 in Saucier. Mr. Cuevas was a lifelong resident of Harrison County, served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, was a heavy equipment operator, and enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Hazel W. Cuevas, and a sister, Anna Belle Woodcock. He is survived by his children, Marvin J. Cuevas, Jr. of Saucier, Chris Cuevas of Pass Christian (Angie), and Christi Johnson of Pass Christian (Dwayne); siblings, Richard J. Cuevas of Wiggins, Odell "Ajax" Cuevas, Delores Cuevas Osmond, and Rita Marie Vance, all of Saucier, and Jesse Roy Cuevas of Pass Christian; and friend, Annie Dangler. Funeral services will be held on Mon., 11-5-07, at 2pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Highway 49 North, Gulfport, where friends may call from 11-2pm. Burial will follow at Wolf River Cemetery.

Richard Allcock
Richard Nelson Allcock, Sr., age 64 of Saucier, died on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 in Hattiesburg.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 12:30pm at the Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi with military honors.

Betty Salosa
Mrs. Betty Jane Salosa, 74, of Long Beach, MS, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007, in Biloxi. Mrs. Salosa was born in Hanover, PA., on January 16, 1933, to Charles Edward and Sadie Elizabeth (nee Duttera) Lockner and was the youngest of five children. She attended Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD., where she received her nursing degree and was a registered nurse for forty years. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach for the past twenty-five years and was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, and a son, Kevin Coffey, of Baltimore, Md. Mrs. Salosa was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Catalino D. "Sal" Salosa of Long Beach; her devoted daughters, Michelle Joy (Nelson) Brown of Mobile, Al, and Stephanie Lynn (Matthew) Robertson of Long Beach; and two loving granddaughters, Amber Monet Robertson and Sadie Leigh Robertson, both of Long Beach. A private memorial mass will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach on Wednesday, November 7, 2007. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME in Long Beach is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Engram
Captain Robert Curtis Engram, USN Retired, was born January 5, 1921 in Lake Worth, Florida. He was the son of the late John Claude and Lucile Engram. He attended Georgia Institute of Technology and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Later he attended George Washington University taking graduate studies in Business Management and Marketing. In 1943, he joined the United States Navy as an ensign serving in the Pacific in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. In 1966 he was assigned to re-open the Naval Battalion Center (the Seabee Base) here in Gulfport and served as its Commander for two years. While Captain Engram commanded the Gulfport Seabee Center, four permanent structures were completed and more than $2.6 million in construction was underway. During his two year tenure as commanding officer, the center grew from a homeport for two mobile construction battalions to a "bustling" homeport for seven MCB's. In his 27 year Navy career, his military service included: U.S.S. Casablanca, U.S. M.A.S. Norfolk, Virginia, C.B.D. 1509 Kwajalien, P.W.O. U.S. N.H. Great Lakes, U.S. N.S.Y. New York, D.P.W.O. Kodiak, Alaska, N.O.T.S. China Lake, California, C.O. MCB-4 Davisville, I.C.A.F. Washington D.C., Subic Bay, Philippines, C.O. CBC Gulfport, Mississippi, M.A.C.V. Saigon, Vietnam. During his Navy career, Captain Engram was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, the American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He retired from the United States Navy in 1970 as Captain. Upon retirement from the Navy he became Port Director of the Port of Gulfport and remained in that position for 8 years. In 1978 he joined Ryan-Walsh Stevedoring Company as Assistant Port Manager, Gulfport, Mississippi. In late 1978 he was promoted to Vice President, Ryan-Walsh Stevedoring Company and became Port Manager, Pascagoula, Mississippi. In 1989 he was assigned duties as Vice President and Manager of all Ryan-Walsh Activities in the State of Mississippi. As Vice President of Mississippi operations he managed the Columbus port on the Tennessee-Tombigbee River, bulk unloading facilities at Port Bienville, Mississippi and managed the large operations in both the Port of Gulfport and Pascagoula. In these capacities he was responsible for the development of International trade through the State of Mississippi, requiring that he travel internationally to develop trade through Ports under his jurisdiction. When gaming became a reality in Mississippi, the late Governor Kirk Fordice appointed Captain Engram to be one of the first three Gaming Commissioners, where he developed the Engram Regulation, requiring all casinos to have on-land, permanent developments. He is affectionately known as the "father of infra-structure." In recent years, Captain Engram has served on the Inland Rivers, Ports and Terminals, Inc. Committee, was a Consultant to SSA Marine, served as Consultant and Chair, Compliance Committee, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, and was a board member of the Gulf Coast Symphony. His church affiliation was the Nourishing Place. Captain Engram is survived by his wife, Carmen Marie King, four Daughters, Robin Denny (Jim), Alexis Diel (Kendall), Joanie Bibb (Harry) and Sheila O'Leary; nine grandchildren, Scott, John and Joanie Jack, Adam Diel, Kimberly Napoli, Annalise and Hunter Bibb, Michael and Aaron O'Leary; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Jack Engram and his three children. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to The Nourishing Place, P.O. Box 7785, Gulfport, Mississippi 39506. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at the Seabee Memorial Chapel, Navy Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport, Mississippi. Visitation is from 12:15 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. with services at 1:30 P.M. Interment is at the National Cemetery, Veterans Administration, Biloxi, Mississippi at 2:30 P.M. Leonard Reid
Leonard 'Wayne' Reid, Jr. was an avid hunter and fisherman, and said hunting was just as important as breathing. He has had some limitations since his illness. Wayne was a very compassionate and good hearted man. He truly loved his family. He was a beloved son, grandson, and brother. Wayne was truly a big brother to many. Wayne passed away early Monday morning, November 5, 2007, at his home in Long Beach, after a long illness. He was single and has no children of his own. He took care of his nieces and nephews like they were his own. Wayne was born on February 16, 1964 in Biloxi to Leonard Wayne (Buddy) Reid, Sr. of Hattiesburg and Margie McNair and her husband, Randy, of Biloxi. His paternal grandparents are Ernest (Bud) and Eurselene (Peaches) Reid of Long Beach; his maternal grandparents are Henry and Jamesina Drieling of Biloxi. Wayne is the oldest of five children. He is survived by both of his parents; paternal grandmother; two sisters, Jackie Soden and her husband, Clay, of Pontotoc, MS and Robyn Ghiloni and her husband, John, of Gulfport, MS; and two brothers, Randy Reid and his wife, Marie, and D. J. McNair, both of Biloxi. He has many aunts and uncles but two aunts were like sisters, Linda Bailey and her husband, Richard, of Diamondhead and Norma Moran and her husband, Carl of Long Beach. He has six nieces, Brandi, Danielle, Bethany, Ashley, Cynthia and Brittany; four nephews, Brandon, Scottie, Cody and Jonathan; six great-nephews, Zachary, Hunter, Taylor, Tyler, Austin and Blayden; and some very special cousins, Kevin and Eric Moran of Long Beach, Brian Bailey of Hattiesburg and Richelle Bailey of Diamondhead. Special and dear to his heart are Olivia, Analeigh, Ella, Zachary and Haley. Wayne was preceded in death by Ernest (Bud) Reid, Susan Reid, Henry and Jamesina Drieling. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19128 Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Gulf Pines Cemetery.

Louis Spaniol
Mr. Louis "Louie" Henry Spaniol, of Gulfport, passed away November 5, 2007 in Gulfport at the age of 85. Mr. Spaniol was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 28, 1922 where he spent the first few years of his life until, as he would say, "he landed at Keesler Field in 1942 to proudly serve his country". After serving his country he moved back to the coast for a few years where he met his wife Ruby. They moved to New Orleans where they lived for about 14 years then moved back to Gulfport for the last few years of their lives. "Mr. Louie" had, as he would say, "a long and for the most part wonderful life". He loved and was loved in return. We will miss your name across our lips and the sound of your voice in our ears. We will miss your sweet smile and your love for the Saints. "Go Saints"!!! Thanks for all the memories and stories of long ago. Thanks for serving your country so proudly. Thanks for being a special grandfather. Mr. Spaniol was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Adalaide Spaniol; four siblings; his loving wife Mrs. Ruby Spaniol; his daughter Wanda Morgan; and granddaughter Shelia Morgan. He is survived by his three children, Gail Baxter (Monty) of Gulfport, MS; Virginia Branham of Pascagoula, MS; and Michael Powe (Bonnie) of Lucedale, MS; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
