Mary Hill
Mary Louise Hill, 83, and a life-long resident of Gulfport, passed away Friday, November 9, 2007 in Gulfport. Affectionately known as "Aunt Pud", she loved her family and was a mother to all. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church, Orange Grove and a past active member of Gulf Gardens Baptist Church. She was also a past member of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle D. Hill, Sr.; parents, William and Julia Rudolph Moran; grandson, William Thomas Hill; and her siblings, Hilda R. Vogt, and W.A., James E., Pete E., and Bennie C. Moran. Survivors include her 4 children, Julia Stanley (Greg), Delbert Doyle "Bubba" Hill, Jr. (Linda), Doylene Hill, and James E. "Ridge" Hill; sisters, Neile B. Brown and Estelle Hammontree; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Krissie and Delbert Doyle "B.J." Hill, III, Tara Sanders (Mike), and Greg Stanley (Tracy); 3 great-grandchildren, Teryn Sanders, Tristan Stanley and Mikey Nasakaitis; and brother and sister in-laws, and a host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 12, 2007 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Hwy. 49 North, Gulfport, where friends may visit from 12 Noon until service time. Interment will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.

Allen Barron
Allen Ross Barron, age 40, of Gulfport, passed away November 9, 2007 in Biloxi. He was born in Pell City, AL to the late Jodie L. Barron and Louella Teets Barron. He graduated from Ragland High School and later served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Harkey's Chapel Methodist Church, Ragland, AL. Survivors include his 2 daughters, Caitlin Barron and April Connell; his sister, Donna Barron Gessler and her husband Max, Tullahoma, TN; nieces and nephews, Jason, Max Eric, Jerrod, and Emily Gessler and a host of friends. Visitation will be from 2 - 3 pm Monday, November 12, 2007 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm in the funeral home chapel.

John W. Goodrich age 54 of Saucier died November 8, 2007 in Saucier.

Doris Allen
Doris Honea Allen died November 7, 2007, in Jackson, Mississippi where she had moved after Hurricane Katrina. Doris was born June 30, 1932 to Gladys and Cary Honea, who predeceased her. Doris was also predeceased by her husband of fifty-one years, Lawrence "Coach" Allen. Doris is survived by her daughter Debra Lynn Allen of Jackson, her son, Marshall Stuart Allen, his wife Martha Allen, and her granddaughter Elizabeth Allen, all of Gulfport. Doris had five sisters and brothers, three of whom predeceased her, Charles Honea, Lamar Honea, and Marie Brumfield. Doris was survived by her sister, Lavenia Landon and her husband Prentiss Landon, and her sister Edna Smiley and her husband Robert Smiley. Doris was a registered nurse who graduated from McComb Infirmary School of Nursing in 1953. Doris went on to have a successful and varied career in medicine. After graduating from nursing school, Doris worked as a Staff Nurse at Methodist Hospital in Hattiesburg; the Medical-Surgical Supervisor at Franklin County Hospital and Operating Room Supervisor for four years at Field Memorial Hospital. Doris and Lawrence then moved to Pass Christian, Mississippi in 1961 where Doris was first employed as Newborn Nursery Supervisor at Gulfport Memorial Hospital. Doris then managed the offices of Dr. Bedford Floyd for five years before becoming the Medical -Surgical Supervisor at Hancock Memorial Hospital. Beginning in 1969, Doris entered the field of medical education, taking her first teaching position at Mississippi Gulf Coast Junior College where she taught Operating Room Technicians. In 1970, Doris became the Practical Nursing Instructor at Pearl River Junior College and Doris remained with Pearl River Junior College until her retirement in 1991. Doris obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial Technical Education with dual majors in nursing and education from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1974, where she was one of the first two females ever admitted to that program. She earned her Masters of Health Occupations Education from the University of Georgia in 1976, and her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing in 1987 from the University of South Alabama. Doris was dedicated to the fields of nursing and education and received many awards and much notice for her hard work. In 1987 Doris was named both the Health Occupations Educator of the Year and the Outstanding Vocational Educator at Pearl River Junior College. Doris was selected as Pearl River Junior College's working for Academic Excellence recipient in 1990. Doris found the time to learn to paint and became an accomplished amateur artist. Doris had a strong interest in genealogy and spent hours researching and documenting her family's history. Doris was a member of the Daughters of the American Colonists, the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd. chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, and in light of Doris' lifelong love of dogs, donations may be made in her name to CARA, 960 N. Flag Chapel Rd., Jackson, MS 39209 or to The New Construction Fund of First Baptist Church of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, 141 Main Street, Bat St. Louis 39520, where Doris was a member prior to Hurricane Katrina.

Wilfred Raistrick
Wilfred (Roger) Raistrick age 71 a resident of Manassas Park, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2007 in Biloxi. Mr. Raistrick was born in Gulfport on January 4, 1936 and had been a resident of Virginia for the past 48 years. He was a retired salesman for the Wonder Bread Company after 38 years. He was a 45 year member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Virginia. "He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him." He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mildred Raistrick; his mother, Frances Raistrick; two brothers, Albert N. and William Raistrick; a grandson, Donald (Bud) Raistrick Jr. and a great-granddaughter, Carly Raistrick. He is survived by three children, Roger D. Raistrick (Valerie) of Front Royal, Virginia; Donald W. Raistrick of Manassas Park, Virginia; and Lynette D. McCartney (Scott) of Front Royal, Virginia; a brother, Cecil Bilbo of Gulfport and two cousins of Gulfport, Archie Randall and Barbara Sellier; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial service for Mr. Raistrick at the Pierce Funeral Home in Manassas Park, Virginia at a later date. Joseph D. Henley age 56 of Gulfport, passed away November 3, 2007 in Gulfport. Arrangements are pending at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11266 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.

Stephen Baudier
Stephen Paul Baudier, Jr, 91, of Gulfport, died December 11, 2005 in Gulfport. Mr. Baudier was a native of New Orleans, LA and moved to the coast in 1937 after working at the New Orleans furniture factory. He served in the US Army during WWII. He owned S.P. Baudier Furniture Contractor for 68 years in the antique restoration business. He restored antique furniture after Camille at Tullis-Toledano Manor, Beauvoir , Grasslawn, Gulf Park College and Longfellow House in Pascagoula. He lived his life for his family and his work. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and will sadly be missed by family from Louisiana to Mississippi. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stephen P. Baudier, Sr. and Louise Larose Baudier, a son, Stephen Baudier, III (Buddy) and a sister, Louise Olschner. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elenora Hemmerling Baudier of Gulfport; daughter, Jean Baudier Smith and husband James of Gulfport; son, Robert Baudier and wife Anita of Hammond, LA.; a special member of the family, Lonnie Moore of Waveland; grandchildren, Debra Price and Mike of Woolmarket, Stephen P. Baudier, IV and wife Monette of Biloxi, Melinda Smith of Gulfport and Randall Baudier of Hammond; and nine great grandchildren, Michael Price, Jr, Casey Price, Stephen Davis Baudier, Shanna Baudier, Jason Cory Smith, Daniel Smith, Max Smith and Kaleigh & Kelsie Smith. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14, 2005 from 6-8:00 p.m. in Monica Hall at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. The Family sends a heartfelt thanks to Trinity Hospice for their care. Gulf Coast Funeral Homes, Inc is in charge of arrangements.

Myrtis Trehern
Mrs. Myrtis Johnson Trehern, age 81, of Gulfport died December 25, 2008 after a short bout with cancer. Mrs. Trehern was born on January 1, 1927 to John Dalton and Vivian Vowell Johnson. She was a life long resident of Gulfport, graduated from Gulfport High, attended the University of Alabama and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Gulfport. She spent most of her career working for the federal government with the Veterans Administration in Gulfport and Biloxi and then retiring from the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul B. Trehern; her brother, John D. Johnson, Jr.; her grandson, Randall Speck; and her stepmother, Helen Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Carol Speck and husband, Richard, of Gulfport; her son, Stephen Trehern and wife, Luanne, of Atlanta; and her sister, Sherrill Stevenson and husband, Dean, of The Villages, FL. Also mourning her passing are her grandchildren, Allison Speck Walker and husband, Jason, of Gulfport; Lauren Trehern Orsini and husband, David; Eric Trehern, all of Atlanta; and one great grandchild, Azlyn Walker, of Gulfport. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. A private family graveside service will be held Sunday at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport. Memorial contributions may be made to the Randall Speck Pediatric Fund in care of Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.

Maurice Auerbach
Maurice S. Auerbach, age 87, died December 25, 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia. She had been a resident of a retirement facility in Atlanta after moving from her long-time home in Biloxi, Mississippi. She was born in Glen Allan, Mississippi. Before moving to Biloxi, she lived in Greenwood, Mississippi and Lexington, Mississippi where she and her husband were merchants. Mrs. Auerbach was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Auerbach, her son, Phil Auerbach, and her grandson, Michael Auerbach. She is survived by her son, Larry Auerbach (Janet), of Atlanta; her brother, J.C. “Buddy” Stern, of Greenville, Mississippi, her daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Auerbach, of Birmingham. Alabama; four grandchildren, David Auerbach, Leigh Auerbach, and Jeff Auerbach all of Atlanta, and Melissa Rubin (Adam) of Alexandria, Louisiana. She is also survived by three great grandchildren and many close friends in Biloxi, Atlanta, Birmingham and elsewhere. Her great delights in life included bragging about her grandchildren, playing an excellent game of bridge, and cooking. Her recipes for chocolate pie, seafood gumbo, the world’s best meatloaf, and other dishes will be carried on by her family as they cherish her memory. Mrs. Auerbach was a member of Congregation Beth Israel in Biloxi, Mississippi. A graveside service will be held at Southern Memorial Park on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.. A gathering of family and friends will be held immediately following the graveside service at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.

Clarence E. " Buddy " Hutchins, Jr.
Clarence E. "Buddy" Hutchins, Jr., age 82 of Gulfport, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2008 in Gulfport. Mr. Hutchins was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyman and retired after 43 years of service with Hancock Bank. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Winnie Louise Hutchins, of Gulfport; his children, Karen (Gian) Petrignani of Brandon, MS, Kevin Hutchins of Seabrook, TX, and Kim (Kenny) Peterman of Gulfport; his grandchildren, Elena Petrignani of Brandon, Kyle Peterman of Gulfport, Kent (Jennifer) Peterman, of Scott AFB, IL, and Kasey McLure of Wiggins; his great grandchildren, Kaleb Peterman, Karoline McLure and Nathaniel McLure. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 2:30 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport where friends may visit from 1:30 PM until service time. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Davidson and Dr. Pande and their staff, as well as the staff at Canon Hospice for their kindness and care giving to Buddy during his illness. Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or First Baptist Church of Lyman Building Fund, 14321 Old Hwy 49, Gulfport, MS 39503.

Ann Kisio
Ann Kisio of Gulfport, Ms, age 68, passed away on December 26, 2008, at Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years Barry Kisio; two sons, Nickie D. Thornton, and Tim (Kim) Thornton; two grandchildren, Chad (Elysce) Thornton, and Travis Thornton; and great granddaughter, Taylor Thornton. Mrs. Kisio retired as head of volunteer services for Memorial Hospital. She will be sadly missed by her family and life long friends. A brief memorial service will be held December 30, 2008 at 11:00am at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Hwy 49 N., Gulfport. The family request instead of flowers donations be sent to Harrison County Child Development Center at, 29th Street in Gulfport, MS (228) 863-0583.

Wallace R. Smith
Wallace R. Smith, 85 of Diamondhead, MS passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2008 in Hospice Care at Veterans Hospital in Biloxi. Mr. Smith was born June 3, 1923 in Duluth, MN. Mr. Smith was preceded is death by his parents, Jack and Lucy Smith and son in law, Ralph Tonn. Mr. Smith is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Shirley Stengelsen Smith of Diamondhead; two daughters, Sharon Tonn (Ralph-deceased) of Wilmington, NC, Nancy Rosenberger (Michael) of Middleton, WI; six grandchildren, Jennifer Merlet (Michael) of Verona, WI, Kristine Tonn and Adam Tonn (Jessie) of Leland, NC, Ryan and Megan Merlet, and Mary Elizabeth Tonn; brothers, Eugene Smith of Elwood, IN and three nieces, Sandy, Mary and Kelly. Wally graduated from Denfeld High School in Duluth were he was a high school all American in football. After graduating early from high school he served valiantly in WWII in the 2nd Marine Division and was seriously wounded in the Battle of Tarawa and earned a purple heart. After returning from the service he graduated from University of Minnesota with a degree in education. He coached and taught in Faulkton, SD prior to going into private business in Middleton, WI. While in Middleton, Wally was active in civic organizations and was a member of St. Bernard’s Parish. Wally and Shirley retired to Diamondhead, MS in 1988 where he was active in golf and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church. Wally was a loving and devoted husband and father and was known for his sense of humor which was with him until the end. He will be sorely missed by all. A private interment will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery followed by a mass for the family at St Williams Catholic Church celebrated by Fr. David Hamm. On February 6, 2009 friends may greet the family at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian, from 1:00 until the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Fr. David Hamm. Coffee and refreshments will follow. The family request memorials made to the Hospice Unit at the Biloxi Veterans Administration Hospital, 400 Veterans Avenue, Biloxi, 39531.
