Funeral services for Richard Allen Scott, 43, of Humboldt, TN, were held on Monday, May 1, 2000 at Porter Funeral Home. Mr. Scott died on April 26, 2000 at his home in Camden, TN. He was a member of Sandy Point Baptist Church and a rate specialist for AFC Air Freight Group.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Baylor Scott of Camden, TN; father, Ed Scott of Tavares, FL; daughter, Sonya Volz of Camden, TN; son, Scott Baylor of Camden, TN; sisters, Darlene Moody and Kathy Korbel of Louisville and Sheila Kay Graves of Trenton, TN; brother, Edward Joe Scott of Fort Collins, CO; one half-sister, Donna Scott of St. Petersburg, FL. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Scott Hammonds.

Rev. Rob Faulk officiated at the service with burial in Memorial Park.

Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Winnie Mae Strickland

Funeral services for Winnie Mae Strickland, 69, of Winston County were held on Friday, May 5, 2000 at Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Strickland died on May 3, 2000 of heart failure at the Winston County Nursing Home. She was a housewife.

Survivors include sisters, Eddie Mae Livingston and Lucille Reed of Louisville and Willie Bell Reed of Meridian; brother, James Lee Miles of Meridian and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Billy" Strickland.

Rev. Arnold Davis officiated at the service with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Tilghman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Vowell

Funeral services for Elizabeth Vowell, a resident of Noxapater, were held on Tuesday, May 2, 2000 at Noxpater Baptist Church with Revs. Kevin White, chris Vowell, Wayne Sanders, and Gowin Ellis officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Noxapater with Nowell Funeral Services of Louisville in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Vowell, 79, of Noxapater died Saturday, April 29, 2000 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. The cause of death was cancer. Mrs. Vowell was a member of the Winston County Hospital Auxiliary and Noxapater Baptist Church. She was born to the late Felin H. and Ida (Barnes) McAdory.

Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Johnson and her husband John, and Peggy Kemp and her husband Jimmy, all of Noxapater; two sons, E. L. Vowell Jr. and his wife Sylvia of Louisville and David Vowell and his wife, Brenda of Philadelphia; two sisters, Eudene Collins of Noxapater and Sue Clark of August, GA; one brother, F. H. McAdory, Jr. of Meridian; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Vowell was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lavern Vowell.

Pallbearers were Glen Hughes, Paul Peterson, Todd Vowell, Chris Creely, Shay Taylor, Kennie Ford, Craig Vowell, and Jewel White.

The family request memorials be made to Noxapater Baptist Church.

Nowell Funeral Service of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.

Lincoln Worthy

Funeral services for Lincoln Worthy, 65, were held on April 29, 2000 at Little Calvary M. B. Church.

Mr. Worthy died on April 22, 2000 of cardiac arrest at his home in Louisville. He was a member of Little Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and a logger.

Survivors include his sister, Effie Mae Eiland of Saginaw, MI; brothers, Saul Worthy of Louisville, Booker T. Worthy and Calvin Worthy of Milwaukee, WI and Jerry Worthy of Saginaw, MI.

Beck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lucille Clark

Funeral services for Lucille Clark, 94, of Louisville were held on Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at Nowell Funeral Services Chapel.

Mrs. Clark died on May 8, 2000 at the Winston County Nursing Home.

She was a homemaker and was the pianist at Gum Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include son, William Clark of Louisville; daughter, Billie Joyce McCully of Louisville; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Rev. James Yarbrough and Rev. Charles Davis officiated at the service with burial in Poplar Flat Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Poplar Flat Church and Gum Branch Baptist Church.

Nowell Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Dee Jerry Coffey

Funeral services for Dee Jerry Coffey, 52, of Webster County, were held on May 11, 2000 at Dumas Chapel U. M. Church.

Mr. Coffey died of lung cancer in his home of May 4, 2000.

He was a factory worker and a member of Dumas Chapel U. M. Church of Bellefontaine.

Survivors include his wife, Lena Coffey of Webster County; mother, Minnie Coffey of Webster County; daughters, Tracy Davis and Danielle Mason of Chicago, IL; sister, Mary Hudson of Chicago, IL; 17 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Rev. Nelson Forrest officiated at the service with burial in North Union Cemetery.

Williams & Herring Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bobby Earl Fulce

Funeral services for Bobby Earl Fulce, 63, of Ackerman, were held on Thursday, May 11, 2000 at Nowell Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Fulce died at his home on May 9, 2000 of a heart attack.

He was a retired maintenance supervisor and a member of Providence Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Fulce of Ackerman; son, Mike Fulce of Purvis; daughters Janet Clark of Ackerman, Lesia Branning of Collinsville and Michelle Cox of Columbus; brothers, Jimmy Fulce of Ackerman, Herbert Fulce of Grenada and Buddy Fulce of Eupora; sisters, Myrtis Elkins of Eupora and Era Johnson of Eupora and nine grandchildren.

Rev. Jimmy Flake officiated at the service with burial in Enon Cemetery.

Nowell Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Nathaniel Kincaid Harrison

Funeral services for Nathaniel Kincaid, 18, of Louisville were held on May 6, 2000 at Warren Chapel Church of God in Christ.

Mr. Kincaid died on April 30, 2000 of head trauma after being struck by a car.

He was a member of Warren Chapel Church of God in Christ.

Survivors include his parents, Robert and Geraldine Harrison of Louisville; son, Isaiah Latham and Dangelo Harrison of Louisville; brothers, Robert Daniels Harrison, Matthew Harrison, Kenny Ray Harrison, Billy Ray Harrison, Jhousha Harrison and John Paul Harrison of Louisville; maternal grandmother, Hattie Lee Warren of Louisville and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Burial was in Ruth Cemetery of Macon.

Florene Hatcher

Funeral services for Florene Hatcher, 81, of Louisville were held on Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at Vernon United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Hatcher died on May 8, 2000 at Anderson Hospital in Meridian.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include son, Johnny Hatcher of Louisville; five daughters, Ann Eaves of Corinth, Johnnie McAdory of Louisville, Faye Mitchener of Prattsville, AL, Joan Holdiness of Vicksburg, Helen Hayes of Dekald; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchildren

Memorials may be made to Vernon United Methodist Church and the Cancer Society.

Clifton L. Hickman

Funeral services for Clifton L. Hickman, 53, of Louisville were held on April 14, 2000 at Olivet Baptist Church.

Mr. Hickman died on April 8, 2000 of a heart attack in Rock Island, IL.

He was retired from John Deere and was a member of Olivet Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and trustee.

Survivors include daughters, Teresa Ann Gales of Davenport, IA, Shaunta N. Goodwin of Inver Grove, MN and Tausha Goodwin-Hall of St. Paul, MN; sons, Chester L. Hickman of Rock Island, IL and Lawrence Goodwin of St. Paul, MN; sisters, Helen Chamberlain of Kemper County, Rosie J. Earby and Rosetta Hickman of Rock Island, IL, Joyce L. Chamberlain of Dekalb, Demetrius Hornesburger and Wanda F. Bates of Louisville; brothers, George L. Hickman of Columbus, Odell Hickman of Rock Island, IL, Johnny L, Hickman of Kemper County, Calvin Hickman of Kemper County, Bobby J. Hickman of Rock Island, IL and Charles Hickman of Atlanta, Ga and six grandchildren.

Rev. Willie Jones officiated at the service with burial in Chippiannock Cemetery.

Jettye K. Hindman

Funeral services for Jettye K. Hindman, 76, were held on May 9, 2000.

Mrs. Hindman died on May 7, 2000 at her home in Louisville.

She was a member of Singleton Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Arnell Hindman of Louisville; daughters, Peggy Hindman of Kosciusko, Patty Mitchell and Penny Hindman of Louisville and Pam Howard of Laurel; sons, Paul Hindman of Memphis, Perry Hindman of Louisville, Philip Hindman of Tuscaloosa, AL, Pete Hindman of Jackson and Patrick Hindman of Tuscaloosa; Bobby Kinard of Jackson; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Rev. Terrell, Rev. Arnold Davis and Rev. Charles Rook officiated at the service with burial in Bevill Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Winston Academy, P. O. Box 545, Louisville or Sta-Home Hospice, 616-B, Highway 35S, Carthage, MS.

Hugo Jackson

Funeral services for Hugo Jackson, 81, of Sturgis, were held on Tuesday, May 9, 2000 at Sturgis Baptist Church.

Mr. Jackson died on May 7, 2000 at Choctaw County Medical Center of Ackerman of heart failure.

He was a retired farmer, a member of Sturgis Baptist Church and a veteran of WWII.

Survivors include brother, Jim Tom Jackson of Sturgis; sister, Billie Tennison of Sturgis.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International.

Rev. Lynn Rodigue and Rev. Steve Lammons officiated at the service with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Olympia Lewis

Funeral services for Olympia Lewis, 41, were held on May 6, 2000 at Union Chapel M. B. Church.

Mrs. Lewis died on April 29, 2000 or cardiac arrest at University Medical Center.

She was a homemaker and a member of Greensboro C. M. E. Church.

Survivors include son, Manuel B. Cooper of Jackson; sisters, Glendia Cooper of Jacksonville, FL, Bettye Cooper, Sandra Miller and Dorothy Cistrunk of Louisville; brother, Howard Cooper of Vicksburg and a special friend, Booker T. Washington of Jackson, MS.

Rev. Eddie B. Robinson officiated at the service with burial in Union Chapel Church.
