Funeral services for Tempy Ree Houston, 68, of Louisville were held on May 20, 2000 at Mount Sinai M. B. Church.

Mrs. Houston died on May 13, 2000 of cardiac arrest at Winston Medical Center.

She was a homemaker and a member of Popular Flat United Methodist Church.

Survivors include sisters, Maggie Lee Gates and Annie Mae Gray of Philadelphia and Annie Lue Houston of Chicago, IL; brother, Pack Coleman of Louisville and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Rev. Adolphus Simmons officiated at the service with burial in the church cemetery.

Beck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mattie Lee McDonald

Funeral services for Mattie Lee McDonald, 83 of Winston County were held on May 25, 2000 at Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. McDonald died on May 24, 2000 of heart failure at the Winston County Nursing Home.

She was a member of Harmony Baptist church and a homemaker.

Survivors include a grandson, Wayne Boydstun of Philadelphia; granddaughter, Shelia Bolger of Detroit, MI; two great granddaughters; one great-grandson; brother, Nathan Boydstun of Louisville; sister, Mamie Warren of Collinsville; sisters-in-law, Shelby Boydstun of Louisville and Gladys Boydstun of Louisville; special cousin, Peggy Winstead of Noxapater; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rev. Jerry Lundy officiated at the service with Rev. Arnold Davis assisting. Burial was in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Tilghman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Warrene Stokes Ming

Funeral services for Warrene Stokes Ming, 92, of Louisville were held on May 20, 2000 at Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Ming died on May 17, 2000 at Winston Medical Center of heart failure.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Louisville.

Survivors include daughters, Janis M. Clanton of Louisville, KY and Glynda M. Triplett of Louisville; grandchildren, Jana Clanton Dowds and Jayson Ming Triplett and two great-grandchildren, Emily Holland Dowds and Edward Alden Dowds. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Ming.

Pallbearers were Jayson Ming Triplett, Bobby Triplett, Jerry Clanton, Carvel Eaves, Jimmy Horton and Ronald Eaves. Honorary pallbearers were J. J. Eaves, L. D. Hill and G. W. Gregory.

Dr. Don Boone officiated at the service with burial in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Tilghman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pauline B. Roberson

Funeral services for Pauline B. Roberson, 77, of Denham Springs, LA were held on May 19, 2000 at Nowell Funeral Services Chapel.

Mrs. Roberson died on May 16, 2000 of heart failure at Our Lady of Lakes Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA.

She was a housewife.

Survivors include sons, Ray Roberson of Jackson, Paul Roberson of New Orleans, LA and Scott Roberson of Pearl; daughter, Brenda Felder of Denham Springs, LA; brothers, Fred Bell of Calhoun City, Roy Bell of Houston; sisters, Christene Lybert of Laurel, and Lorraine Roy of Monroe, LA ; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Brad Felder, Shane Roberson, Shannon Cole, Major Rougon, Danny Suttle and Morris Massey. Rev. Charles Davis officaited at the service with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

Nowell Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Thelma Hurt Talbert

Funeral services for Thelma Hurt Talbert, 87, of Columbus, were held on May 20, 2000 at Memorial Chapel in Memorial Funeral Home of Columbus.

Mrs. Talbert died on May 17, 2000 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.

She was a housewife and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughter, Debbie and Bill Mino of Dallas, Texas; son, Gene and Joyce Talbert of Columbus; son, Joe Hunt Talbert of Columbus; brother, Gilbert Hurt of Pace, FL; five grandchildren, Chris Talbert, Robbie Honnoll, Melody Taylor, Joe EArl talbert, David Mino; seven great-grandchildren, Danielle, Talbert and Elisabeth Honnoll, Garrett Taylor, Josh Scarborough, Anthony and Zach Arnold and many special friends.

Pallbearers were Joe Earl Talbert, Chris Talbert, Rod Taylor, Dannie Honnoll, T. R. Richardson, Benny Hurt, Bobby Banks and R. L. Sessum. Honorary pallbearers were Merrille Eaves, Mack King, Bill Davis, W. N. Haggard, Bill Yarborough, Burdet Honnoll, Ben Owen, Majvin Edge, Dr. Robert Dill, Dr. William Calhoun, Dr. Douglas Hill and all members of First Free-Will Baptist Church.

Lillian Patterson Adcock

Funeral services for Lillian Patterson Adcock, 98, of Louisville, were held on Monday, May 29, 2000 at Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Adcock died on May 26, 2000 of heart failure at Winston Medical Center.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Apostolic Church.

Survivors include daughters, Ellen Estelle McBrayer of Columbus, Alice Chiarito of Fort Walton Beach, FL, May McIntyre of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Glenda Kemp of Louisville and Rita Groner of Pearl; son, Bud Adcock of Louisville; 29 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Adcock; daughters, Dorothy Goodin, Sara Kemp and Nita Adock and son, Jimmy Adcock.

Rev. Burlon Commer officiated at the service with Rev. Jimmy Guy assisting.

Interment was in Jackson Field Cemetery.

Tilghman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William Judson Allen, Sr.

William Judson Allen, Sr. , 84, of Tampa recently died. A native of Lowndes County, Miss. , he moved to the area in 1965. He was a chief master sergeant, Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and a member of Palma Ceia Baptist Church. He is survived by a son, Bill, Jr. of Orlando; a daughter, Frances McMahon of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Wistar of High Point, N. C. , and Truett of Maben; two sisters, Mary Hurley and Michely, both of Jackson, TN and two grandchildren.

Blount, Curry & Roel Funeral Homes, of Tampa were in charge of the arrangements.

Bonnie Beatrice Collier

Graveside services for Bonnie Beatrice Collier, 82, of Ellisville were held on Tuesday, May 30, 2000 at Pleasant HIll Cemetery in Sturgis.

Ms. Collier died of heart failure on Mary 29, 2000 at Ellisville State School.

Survivors include a sister, Mavis Garner of Sturgis.

Rev. Charles Maples officiated at the service.

Nowell Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Hoyt McKay

Funeral services for Hoyt McKay, 80, of Winston County were held on May 27, 2000 at Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. McKay died of heart failure at his residence on May 25, 2000.

He was a brick mason/ businessman, a member of Liberty Universalist Church, a member of American Legion, treasurer of Liberty Universalist Church and served in the U. S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater.

Survivors include wife Regina "Dina" Jones McKay of Louisville; daughter, Barbara McKay Waldrop of Louisville; sons, Barry Wade McKay of Midland, Texas and Danny Hoyt McKay of Forest; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Henry McKay of Columbus, GA, Norman McKay of Vicksburg and Jack McKay of El Paso, Texas; one sister, Gladys McKay Richardson of Louisville and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rev. Arnold Davis officiated at the service with Rev. Terrell Stringer and Linda Foshee assisting. Interment was in Liberty Universalist Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Liberty Universalist Church.

Gordon (Dick) Matson

Funeral services for Gordon (Dick) Matson, 72, of Noxapater were held on Saturday, May 27, 2000 at Nowell Funeral Services.

Mr. Matson died on May 26, 2000 of heart failure at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson. He was a retired tool and die mold maker; a mason; a veteran of the Korean and World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Matson of Noxapater; sons, Mike Matson of Saucier and Rob Matson of Noxapater and two grandchildren.

Rev. James Yarbrough officiated at the service with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery of Noxapater.

Nowell Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Daisy Hoskins Norton

Funeral services for Daisy Hoskins Norton, 92, were held on May 27 at Bethany Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Norton died on May 23, 2000 of cardiac arrest at Care Center Nursing Home. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Rev. Joseph Etau officiated at the service with burial in New Zion Cemetery.

Charles Lee Parks

Funeral services for Charles Lee Parks, 52, of Louisville, were held on May 29, 2000 at Friendship M. B. Church. Mr Parks died of cardiac arrest on May 25, 2000 at Winston Medical Center.

He was a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Parks of Louisville; father, Daniel Parks of Gholson; daughters, Tina Jones of Indianapolis, IN. , Grace Gill of Birmingham AL and Rachel Parks of Louisville; sons, Jeremy Parks of Starkville, Darius Parks of Shreveport, LA and Savalis Dale of East St. Louis, IL; sisters, Jackie Coleman of Anderson, IN. , Lucy Pearl Dale of East St. Louis, Il. and Betty Townsend of Anderson, IN and Doris Drummond of Rock Island, IL; brothers, Daniel Parks, Jr. , of Dekalb, Willie Parks and REv. Robert E. Parks, Sr. , of Tupelo; nine grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Rev. Robert Parks Sr. , officiated at the service with burial in the church cemetery.

Mae Pyrra

Funeral services for Mae Pyrra were held Saturday, May 27 from Coy United Methodist Church. Rev. John Branning officiated with burial in the Coy Cemetery in Preston under the direction of McClain-Hays Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pyrra, 90, died May 24 at Imperial Manor Nursing Home in Madison, TN. She was a native of Neshoba County and had lived in Tennessee for the past 21 years. She was a member of Coy United Methodist Church in Preston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Pyrra in 1961. Survivors include two sisters, Bernice Frazier of Old Hickory, TN, and Bonnie Ray of Chattanooga, Tn; one brother, J. D. Stokes of Louisville and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Parker Stokes, Lloyd Stokes, Rodney Stokes, Ronald Stokes, Donnie Frazier and Kim Ray.

Isabel E. Puckett

Funeral services for Isabel E. Puckett, 76, were held on May 28, 2000 at Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Puckett died on May 26, 2000 of respiratory failure at Winston County Nursing Home. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, John Kellis Puckett, Sr. of Louisville; sons, John K. Puckett, Jr. of Birmingham, Al; Steven W. Puckett of Jackson; Joseph S. Puckett of Philadelphia and James T. Puckett of Louisville; daughter, Carolyn Ann Palmer of Louisville; nine grandchildren and brother, Bill Hastings of Chester, PA.

Rev. Rob Faulk officiated at the service with Rev. Tommy Cherry assisting.

Burial was in Ellison Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

Tilghman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ethel Wilson Yates

Funeral Services for Ethel Wilson Yates, 71, of Louisville were held on Sunday, June 4, 2000 at Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Yates died of heart failure at Winston County Medical Center on June 2, 2000.

He was the former business owner of Yates Gulf Service Station, a member of liberty Baptist Church and a member of the Lions Club.

Survivors include wife Christine Smith Yates of Louisville; daughter Dianne Mills of Louisville; sons, Robert Yates and Barney Yates of Louisville and Ted Yates of Noxapater; six granddaughter and 2 great granddaughters; one brother L. C. Yates of Noxapater ; three sisters Naomi Pope of Kosciusko, Alene Smith of Louisville and Linda Hartness of Noxapater; two half-brothers William H. Yates of Noxapater and James T. Yates of Texas; one half-sister Barbara A. Berch of Texas and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rev. Danny Purser officiate at the service with Rev. Bobby Lowery assisting. Interment was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Louisville.

Pallbearers were Paul Smith, Jr. , Ralph Yates, Larry Pope, Jimmy Don Smith, David Johnson and Terry Hartness.

Tilghman Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.
