Funeral services for Lillie L. Williams 99, of Noxubee County were held on June 18, 2000 at Antioch M. B. Church. Mrs. Williams died on June 13, 2000 of natural causes in Serenity House.
She was a retired homemaker and a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include sisters, Lessie Young of Louisville; Willie Bea Kincaid of Birmingham, Ala. and Bessie Jernigan of Milwaukee, WI; one grandson, one great granddaughter, one great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rev. L. L. Logan officiated at the service with burial in Glenn cemetery.

Opal Smith
Funeral services for Opal Smith, 83, of Louisville were held on Wednesday, June 20, 2000 at McClain-Hays Funeral Home of Philadelphia.
Mrs. Smith died on June 20, 2000 of respiratory failure at Winston Medical Center.
She was a housewife and a member of West End Baptist Church in Louisville.
Survivors include daughters Peggy Dickerson and Paulette Chandler of Louisville and Patsy Wigle of Joliet, IL; sister, Ludean Perkins of Jackson, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Rev. Kenny White officiated at the service with burial in Plattsburg Cemetery.

Bobby Earl Reel
Funeral services for Bobby Earl Reel, 54, of Macon, were held on June 22, 2000 at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Reel died on June 20, 2000 at his residence in Macon of heart failure.
He was a native of Kosciusko and moved to Noxubee County in his childhood. He was a graduate of Noxubee High School and worked as a self-employed welder all of his adult life.
Survivors include his mother, Syble Alston of Macon; sons, David Reel of Louisville and Jason Reel of Noxapater; five grandchildren; sister, Betty Jo Vaughn of Starkville and brother, James Thomas Reel of Louisville.
Pallbearers included Kevin Reel, Keith Reel, Champ Adcock, Bobby Mac Adcock, Dallas Mills, Jimmy Vaughn.
Bro. Bobby Joe Butler officiated at the service with burial in Mashulaville Cemetery.

Lisa Maria Valiant
Funeral services for Lisa Maria Valiant, 29, of Louisville, were held on June 17, 2000 at Beck Funeral Home Chapel.
Ms. Valiant died on June 15, 2000 of cancer at Ellisville State School. . She was a patient at Ellisville State School.
Survivors include her father, Percy Valiant of Louisville; brother, Mark Valiant of Jackson; aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.

Smith Lever Worrell
Funeral services for Smith Lever Worrell, 93, of Ackerman were held on Wednesday, June 21, 2000. Mr.
Worrell died of heart failure on June 20, 2000 at Choctaw County Medical Center.
He was a retired Gulf Oil Distributor, a lifelong resident of Ackerman and a member of Ackerman Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Verna Worrell of Ackerman; daughter Jo Quinn Smith of Greenwood; brother, Bruce Lavell Worrell of Ackerman and one grandchild.
Rev. Barry Worrell and Rev. Ron Harrison officiated at the service with burial in Enon Cemetery.

Hazel Irene Moore Carr
Funeral services for Hazel Irene Moore Carr, 81, of Macon were held on Monday, June 26, 2000 at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Carr died on June 24, 2000 at Noxubee County Nursing Home of heart failure.
She was a native of Winston County, a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters Dorothy Carr Taylor of Macon, Patricia Carr Gauntt of Macon and Camille Carr of Meridian; three grandchidlren and seven great-grandchildren.
Rev. Grady Crowell officiated at the service with burial in Ellison Ridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers were J. C. Gauntt, George Gauntt, Gray Carruth, Adam Carruth, Alfred Moore, and Larry Hemphill.

Annie Bell Clayborne
Funeral services for Annie Bell Clayborne, 88, of Preston, were held on June 24, 2000 at Mt. Sinai M. B. Church. Mrs. Clayborne died on June 19, 2000 of cardiac arrest at Rush Foundation in Meridian.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Helen Westerfield of New Orleans, La and Ruth Rush of Preston; three step-daughters, Bonnie Williams, Elouis Ruse and Virginia Clayborne of New Orleans; sons, Ross Clayborne of New Orleans and three step-sons, John Jack and Harvey Jack of New Orleans and Henry Jack of Laurel; 25 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren nine great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services for Cansadie Collier, 78, of Winston County were held on July 1, 2000 at Hopewell United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Collier died on June 26, 2000 of pneumonia at Winston County Nursing Home.
She was a retired school teacher and a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband Frank Collier, Jr. of Louisville; sisters, Meline Robbins of Memphis, TN and Parbelle Nunn of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Jayne Hey McKay
Funeral services for Jayne Hey McKay, 90, were held on Sunday, June 25, 2000 at Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. McKay died on June 24, 2000 of heart failure at Ocean Springs Nursing Home in Ocean Springs. She was a retired school teacher from having taughter for 52 years and had resided in Ocean Springs for the past 11 years. She attended the University of Alabama at age 14 and earned her Masters of Education degree from Mississippi State University. She taught first grade at Louisville Public School where she was a reading specialist. She was the member of Louisville Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in church activities.
Survivors include daughters, Ann Adelle McKay Edwards of Ocean Springs, MS and Jaynie McKay Whitcomb of Coral Gables, FL; sisters, Josie Girard of Houston, TX and Ann Kirby of Money; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Rev. Bob Schwanebeck officiated at the service with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery of Louisville.

Opal Smith
Funeral services for Opal Smith, 83, were held Wednesday, June 21, at 2 p. m. from the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Rev. Kenny White officiated. Burial was in Plattsburg Cemetery. Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, June 20, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville. She was born and reared in Neshoba County. She made her home in Winston County most of her life. She was a member of West End Baptist Church in Louisville. Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Dickerson of Louisville, Paulette Chandler of Louisville and Patsy Wigle of Joliet, IL; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister Ludean Perkins of Jackson. Pallbearers were: Devon Thomas, Roger Lillis, Chuck Wigle, Jerome Smith, Matthew Stone, and Ray Leathers.
Rev. Wayne Hill also officiated on the Smith service.
Phyllis Bishop
Funeral services for Phyllis Bishop, 81, of Macon were held on July 8, 2000 at Union Chapel C. M. E. Church.
Mrs. Bishop died on July 4, 2000 of cardiopulmonary arrest at the University Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and a member of Union Chapel C. M. E. Church of Macon.
Survivors include daughters, Annie Brownlee of St. Louis, MO; Bessie Bishop of St. Louis, MO; Clarence Bishop of East St. Louis, IL; son, Thomas Payton of St. Louis, MO and Mosezell Bishop, Jr. of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Rev. Gus Thomas officiated at the service with burial in Friendship Cemetery.

Ruth Helen Chappell
Funeral services for Ruth Helen Chappell, 80, were held on July 2, 2000 at Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Chappell died of a stroke at Winston County Nursing Home on June 30, 2000. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Survivors include sons, Dwight Lamar Chappell and Phil Chappell of Louisville; sisters, Gaynell Chappell of Picayune, Elizabeth Ann Willis of Noxapater and Doris Hamilton of Noxapater and two grandchildren, John Paul Chappell and Michael Austin Chappell.
Rev. Charles Rook officiated at the service with Rev. David Keen assisting with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery.

James Alan Clark
Funeral services for James Alan Clark of Noxapater, 19, were held on July 5, 2000 at Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Clark died in a drowning accident on July 2, 2000.
Survivors include his father, James Michael Clark of Louisville; mother, Kim Winters of Noxapater; brothers, Agustin Eugene Clark of Noxapater and Jordan Quinn Clark of Meridian; sister, Christina Winters of Noxapater; grandmother, Caroline White of Donaldson, LA; grandfather, Billy Parker of Philadelphia.

Interment was in Indian Springs Cemetery.
