Elgie Wilks Chatham
Services for Mrs. Elgie Wilks Chatham, were held on Tuesday, August 8, 2000 at Webb Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Raymon Leake and Dr. Beverly Tinnin officiated at the service with burial in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Chatham, 83, was a retired educator and counselor, died on August 6, 2000 at Guardian Angel Hospice in Meridian.
Survivors include two sons, Henry E. Chatham, Jr. and wife, Elaine Chatham of Jackson; Dr. Franklin E. Chatham and wife, Dr. Marie D. Chatham of Baltimore, Maryland; four grandsons, Andrew Hughes Chatham of Duke University, Christopher Hughes Chatham of the University of Pennsylvania, Todd Franklin Chatham, Baltimore and one granddaughter, Amanda Elaine Chatham of Jackson; sisters, Doris Tissue of Pittsburgh, PA, Melba Chesney of Meridian, Janice Silvery Townshend of Dunedin, FL and Faye Tidwell of Atlanta, GA and a brother, Dr. T. Palmer Wilks and wife, Jean Wilks of Jackson and Madison; brothers-in-law, Billy Tidwell of Atlanta, GA and Bill Townshend of Dunedin, FL and eleven nieces and nephews.
Homer Harris
Funeral services for Homer Harris, 81, of Louisville were held on August 7, 2000 at Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Harris died of a stroke on August 5, 2000 at Winston Medical Center in Louisville.
He was a farmer and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include sisters, Ada M. Harris White of Louisville and Vada Mae Harris Sloan of Louisville and a host of nieces and nephews.
Rev. Arnold Davis officiated at the service with burial in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Era M. Watson
Funeral services for Era M. Watson, 95, were held on Friday, August 11, 2000 at Nowell Funeral Services Chapel.
Mrs. Watson died on August 10, 2000 at Winston Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Louisville.
Survivors include four daughters, Anna Jean Allen of Louisville, Mary Alice West of Starkville, Bobbie Pearson of Starkville and Linda Walker of Louisville; one grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Dr. Don Boone officiated at the service with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bennie A. C. Carter
Funeral services for Bennie A. C. Carter, 70, of Winston County, were held on August 5, 2000 at Mt. Calvary M. B. Church.
Mr. Carter died of heart failure at his home in Winston County on July 30, 2000.
He was a retired laborer of 26 years at Weyerhaeuser and a member of Mt. Calvary M. B. church.
Survivors include daughters, Bonnie Hopkins of Noxapater, Betty Dawkins of McCool, and Katherine Carter of Philadelphia; sons, Walter Carter, Lester Carter, Billie Carter, all of Philadelphia and Chester Carter of Louisville; sister, Annie Miller of Louisville; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Elder Harvey Scott officiated at the service with burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Floyd Childs
Funeral services for Floyd Childs, 72, of Louisville were held on Friday, August 18, 2000 at Evergreen Baptist Church.
Mr. Childs died of heart failure on August 15, 2000 at his residence.
He was an employee of Southern Natural Gas and a member of Evergreen Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert Childs of Louisville; daughters, Marsha Daniel of Evans, GA and Mary Nell Whitmire of Columbus; brother, Farris Childs of Louisville; sister, Lorene Parker of Louisville and five grandchildren.

Hermie Lee Halfacre
Funeral services for Hermie Lee Halfacre, 90, of Winston County were held on Monday, August 14, 2000 at Porter Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Halfacre died at Winston County Nursing Home on August 12, 2000. She was a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Nita Hartness of Louisville; sons, Arthur Halfacre of Louisville and Jimmy Halfacre of Mendenhall; sisters, Hilda Smith and Jimmie Ruth Goodin of Louisville; brother, George Crowell of Marked Tree, AK; eight grandchildren nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services was led by family members with burial in Murphy Creek Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mavis E. Hale, 65, were held on August 14, 2000 for Mavis E. Hale. Mrs. Hale died on August 9, 2000 in Atlanta.
She worked at Emory University P. E. R. L. laboratory.
Survivors include husband, George Hale of Atlanta, GA; sons, George Hale of Chicago, IL, Meredith Hale of Atlanta, GA and Demario Hale of Orlando, FL; sisters, Virginia F. Henderson of Jackson and Harriet J. Johnson of Philadelphia, PA; brother, Charlie Doyle Foster of Bronx, NY; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Teresa Henley
Funeral services for Teresa Henley, 43, of Mantee, were held on August 12, 2000 at Clarkson Baptist Church.
Mrs. Henley died of cancer at her residence on August 10, 2000.
She was a member off Clarkson Baptist Church in Webster County and was the manager for Fashion Sense Apparel in Starkville.
Survivors include her husband, Erb Henley of Mantee; sons, Craig Dalton and Jason Dalton of Mantee; sister, Judy Wright of little Rock, AR; mother, Shelby Jean Young Dalton; brother, Scott Dalton; granddaughter, Karlie Sloan Henley. Rev. Tim Hudson officiated at the service with burial in Clarkson Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Danny Collins, Chris Collins, Chip Collins, Wade Henley, Michael Chandler and Steven Love.

Mozelle Holton
Funeral services for Mozelle Holton, 75, were held Saturday, August 12 at 10 a. m. at Enon Baptist Church in Winston County. Rev. Doug Wise and Rev. Robert Jackson officiated. Burial was in Whitehead Cemetery under the direction of McClain-Hays Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holton died Wednesday, August 9 at her home in Louisville. She was a native of the Yellow Creek Community of Noxubee County and a longtime resident of Claytown Community of Winston County. She was retired from Spartus in Louisville. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband Otis Holton in 1990.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Holdiness of Louisville; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Rubye Richards of Mashulaville and Shirley Alexander of Yellow Creek; brother, Earl McArthur of Houston, Texas. Pallbearers were Wayne Richards, William Tucker, Pete Waterloo, Marvin Tucker, Sonny Presley, and Joe Johnson.
Eddie Sherrell Hunt
Funeral services for Eddie Sherrell Hunt were held on August 10, 2000 at Union Chapel M. B. Church. Mr. Hunt died on August 3, 2000.
He was a member of Ebenezer Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his mother, WIllie A. Hunt, father, Eddie D. Love, brothers, Julius K. Love (Pam), and Billy Wells of Louisville; sons, David Sangster of Columbus and Maurice Boyd of Kankakee, IL; grandmother, Doris Hunt; grandfather, J. D. Love; special person, David Eiland; special friend, Geanette Carter; 12 aunts, 8 uncles, two nephews, one niece and a host of relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers were uncles; active pallbearers were cousins and friends; flower attendants were cousins and friends.

Mae Crowson Pugh Huss
Graveside services for Mae Crowson Pugh Huss, 77, of Louisville, were held on Friday, August 18, 2000 at Betheden Cemetery.
Mrs. Huss died of natural causes at Care Center in Louisville.
She was a homemaker and a member of Suqualena Methodist Church.
Survivors include son, Rev. George Pugh, Jr. of Pachuta; brothers, Noel Crowson of Fountain, FL and Herald Crowson of Willow Springs, NC; sisters, Dorothy Vickers of Sturgis and Ann Russell of Noxapater; four grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Pugh of Pachuta.

Eunice L. McDaniel
Funeral services for Eunice L. McDaniel, 63, of Weir, were held on Sunday, August 13, 2000 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Mrs. McDaniel died on August 11, 2000 at Choctaw County Medical Center.
She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and a homemaker. Her hobbies included crafts and quilting.
Survivors include her husband, Marzene McDaniel of Weir; sons, James McDaniel of Ackerman and Arlis McDaniel of Reform; daughters, Vera McCarty of Ackerman, Deborah Coleman of Fulton and Aleita Faye McDaniel of Weir; mother, Elsie Lou Sanders of Starkville; sister, Yvonne Griffin of Mathiston; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Mrs. Murray died of heart failure at her home in Louisville on August 5, 2000.

Survivors include sons, J. W. Burks of Detroit, MI and W. J. Jones of Coahoma; sister, Icedora Ball of Louisville; brother, Benjamin Jones of Muskegon, MI; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Howard Hollingsworth
Funeral services for Howard Hollingsworth, 81, of Louisville were held on Tuesday, October 3, 2000 at First Presbyterian Church in Louisville.
Mr. Hollingsworth died of pneumonia on October 1, 2000 at Monfort Jones Hospital on October 1, 2000.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was a brick mason. He was in the Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Hollingsworth of Louisville; son, Steve Hollingsworth of Louisville; two daughters, Paula Stokes of Louisville and Carrie McCool of Noxapater; five grandchildren.
Rev. Bob Schwanebeck officiated at the service with burial in Rocky Hill Cemetery.
